Like the moment your mother and father joined Facebook, this makes one wonder if grills are officially no longer the hot, new “in” thing about celebrities. Age is just a number. Even if that number is 54. Always fashionable and forever young, Her Madgesty channeled her inner Lil Wayne and got her mouth blinged out in a shiny gold grill over the weekend. We’re not saying you can’t pull off a certain look if you’re a certain age … but these images aren’t making a compelling argument for the style. Just saying. At least it’s not Rihanna’s gun grill ?
Kris Jenner may recently have told off President Obama , but a new report says Kanye West is relying on the Commander-in-Chief to keep his newly expanded family alive. Kind of. Sort of. Allow us to explain: According to The Daily Star, West has invested $1.9 million in bullet-proof cars for him, Kim Kardashian and little North West , including a $482,000 Chevrolet Kodiak based on the model known as “Limo One,” which transports the President around. Along with the armored cars, West will plant two bodyguards along Kim’s side at all times. “If there have been any kidnapping threats against their daughter, he isn’t saying. But that fear is clearly in his mind,” the source said. “Kanye is also acutely aware that Kim has enemies who are resentful for her reality TV success, and the thought of anything happening to her or Nori is his worst nightmare.” Is Kanye West overreacting? In 1912, eighth grade students were quizzed HARD on reading proficiency, arithmetic, grammar, geography, physiology, civil government and history. In 2013 … well, it’s not quite the same. An eighth grade “Common Exam” from 1912 was just donated to the Bullitt County (Ky.) History Museum, and is available in full on their website. The site explains, “It should not be used to compare student knowledge then and now.” A good thing, too, for the self-esteem of those in the “now.” The site says students assembled to take this test once or twice a year and it was a very serious deal, with high school scholarships at stake. Where is it located? What does it secrete. Define Cerebrum; Cerebellum. What are the functions (or uses) of the spinal column? Civil Government Name five county officers, and the principal duties of each. Name three rights given to Congress by the Constitution and two rights denied to Congress. Describe the manner in which the president and vice-president of the United States are elected. You can see the answers at Bullitt County’s website, but the answer to the question of whether 1912 tests were harder than today’s doesn’t need looking up.
Amanda Seyfried is most known for her roles in Mamma Mia and Les Miserables . Roles that could be described as “good girls”. In her newest film, Lovelace , she puts a different spin on the good girl image. Despite Seyfried’s performance being applauded in many of the Lovelace reviews , the actress recognizes that there is risk in taking on the role of Linda Lovelace. In an interview with The Sunday Times, Amanda Seyfried admits that the porn biopic “may ruin my career.” A film about a porn icon is not one that many actresses might jump on so Seyfried is likely correct in her reservations. However, if the film’s first weekend at the box office, in limited release, is any indication, Seyfried has no need for concern. Lovelace averaged $184,000 in each of its 118 theaters which is not too shabby. Not great, but not horrible by any means. Are Seyfried’s fears unfounded? What say you? Nope. Kylie Jenner turned the very sweet age of 16 last week – and she’s included all followers in the celebration. Instagram style! The reality star was feted Saturday night at Nobu, with Kris and Bruce Jenner; Kendall, Khloe and Kourtney Kardashian; Jaden Smith; and others all in attendance. Kim Kardashian did not stop by, of course, because it’s more important to remain in hiding until all baby weight is lost than it is to be there for her sister’s big day. But at least Kim wished Kylie a happy birthday! “Thank you to everyone for the bday wishes and making yesterday so special Blessed!” Jenner wrote on Sunday morning. “Honestly had the most amazing night.”

Yes, THGers: it does get cuter than a Golden Retriever puppy being spoon fed by its owner. But only when 222 Golden Retrievers mix and mingle in one place, as took place last month at the annual Guisachan Gathering. The event is is run by the Golden Retriever Club of Scotland and held at the ancestral home of this beloved breed. It started in 2006 in honor of the organization’s 50th anniversary and has grown in size since then from 188 golden guests to this year’s mark of well over 200. There’s a dog show, there’s dancing, there’s frolicking among humans and animals. But mostly there’s simply a chance to bask in the adorableness of what many consider to be the world’s best breed. They really do love their pets in Scotland, as just last week a quartet of kittens was rescued from an air conditioning vent in that country. It’s all rather AWWW-some if you ask us. The winners are in for the 2013 Teen Choice Awards. Pitch Perfect won for favorite movie comedy, and the film’s co-stars Rebel Wilson and Skylar Astin won for choice actress and actor in a comedy. Wilson accepted her award while wearing a wetsuit. On the TV side, The Vampire Diaries and Pretty Little Liars carried out similar sweeps, while Lea Michele made her first public appearance since Cory Monteith’s death. Her tearful tribute on stage was a highlight of the night. Other winners included Selena Gomez, Gabby Douglas, Jim Parsons, Bruno Mars, Sandra Bullock, Justin Bieber, The X Factor and One Direction.
