Reality Steve, the soothsayer of bad TV, admitted today that he got some of The Bachelorette spoilers wrong as they pertain to the end of this season. Only five men are left standing heading into next week’s episode. Four will advance to win hometown dates with Desiree Hartsock the following week. That’s where Steve’s usually iron-clad predictions took a hit … WARNING : To all those wanting this fairy tale to remain untainted, turn back now, because the intel below contains The Bachelorette spoilers (obviously). Steve said many weeks ago that the top four guys would be … Brooks Forester Zak Waddell Drew Kenney Chris Siegfried According to Steve’s blog post today, this is still the case. However, he indicated previously that Drew Kenney would be the odd man out after hometowns and before the overnight dates (or final three dates). Now, he’s saying Zak Waddell will instead finish fourth. Put another way, Zak is out after hometowns and Drew is on to overnights. How does all this impact the finale? And does it throw off his other predictions? “What does this mean for the rest of the spoilers? Nothing really,” Steve writes. “Because I was originally wrong with the Zak/Drew elimination, could the ending be wrong?” “Sure. But it’s not. [REDACTED] and [REDACTED] are still the final two guys, and she got engaged to [REDACTED] back on May 8 and they are still engaged to this day.” So who are the final two? And who will win that final rose? Follow the link for the full 2013 Bachelorette spoilers .
Hundreds of mourners gathered this weekend to pay their final respects to the late Lil Snupe at the emerging rapper’s funeral. He was only 18. According to the Shreveport Times , the funeral service was held Saturday at Jonesboro-Hodge High School in Snupe’s hometown, Jonesboro, La. Mourners reportedly began arriving three hours before the service began. Rapper Meek Mill, who had signed Lil Snupe (born Addaren Ross) to his DreamChasers record label last year, was among the many funeral attendees. Also last week, a 36-year-old man suspected of murdering the teen surrendered to Louisiana police. Tony Holden has been charged with first-degree murder. RIP Snupe.
Planned Parenthood and Connie Britton are teaming up on a new t-shirt asking, in reference to her famous TV character: What would Tami Taylor do? Available for the month of July, the shirt reading “WWTTD? What Would Tami Taylor Do?” is designed to allow others to show support for Texas women. The back of the t-shirt boasts the URL standwithtexaswomen (dot) org. Connie, who currently stars on ABC’s Nashville , said in a statement: “The character Tami on Friday Night Lights is a Texas woman deeply committed to her community and to standing up for what is right for her neighbors and the people she loves.” “I have been inspired by how people around the country have united to stand with the women of Texas.” “I can’t help but think that, in this moment, we all have the opportunity to join with and become strong, powerful Texas men and women.” Britton’s partnership with Planned Parenthood was clearly motivated by the the Texas state legislature’s aims to impose restrictions on abortion . The proposed law, while not banning abortion, makes one so difficult to obtain that it would effectively shut down 36 of 42 clinics in the Lone Star State. State Senator Wendy Davis (D) made headlines with a 13-hour filibuster that stopped the legislation, but Gov. Rick Perry (R) has vowed to pass it. After what many felt was a cheap shot at Davis, Perry called for another session of the legislature starting today in hopes of getting the bill signed. The bill’s future is unclear, but it’s already started a movement. “These laws threaten women’s health and safety,” Dawn Laguens, executive vice president of Planned Parenthood Action Fund, said in a statement. “Like people across the country, Connie Britton saw thousands of Texans stand up last week and demand to be heard, and she wanted to stand with them.” “She’s partnering with Planned Parenthood Action Fund on this shirt so that people all across the country can show their support.”
Selena Gomez suffered a minor wardrobe malfunction while on stage in Boston over the weekend, giving fans a full-on glimpse of her nude … underwear. If he’s not too stoned to see straight, Justin Bieber is MAD jealous of the fans at the 103.3 AMP Radio Birthday Bash at City Hall Plaza right here: While dancing in a backless ensemble, Selena flashed some (still technically clothed) crotch after the thigh-high split of her skirt opened at the front. Despite the minor wardrobe mishap, the 20-year-old beauty, who’s been linked to Austin Mahone and Ed Sheeran, went on performing like a champ. What do you expect from a pro’s pro? Gomez, whose debut solo album, Stars Dance , is set to be released globally July 23, is really coming into her own these days, not unlike her contemporaries. Speaking of which, there was also a Miley Cyrus wardrobe malfunction this weekend. It’s like they’re living parallel lives, minus the Twerking for Selena.
Jamie Foxx donned a t-shirt in honor of slain teen Trayvon Martin at the BET Awards last night. But the actor says he wasn’t make any kind of political statement with the act. “The reason for the shirt is that I met his mom personally… it’s not political, it’s not left, it’s not right, it’s not black, it’s not white, this is about the kid,” Foxx told Kevin Frazier of The Insider , adding: “For all of us, no matter what color you are… I have kids [one who is] 19. I have a kid who’s 4. You want to protect them.” At the MTV Movie Awards in April, Foxx wore a different shirt with the faces of Martin and the children killed at the Newtown shooting on it. Accompanying those images were the words “Know Justice, Know Peace.” The George Zimmerman trial , meanwhile, is underway with the man accused of murdering Martin claiming he acted in self-defense.
Georgia history books report 458 lynchings there from 1882-1930, making for “a permanent bruise on the Peach State,” a Savannah Morning News op-ed reads. Better make it 459 after the treatment Paula Deen has gone through, her hometown paper says, after the treatment she’s received over the past few weeks. We’re not paraphrasing, that’s their word of choice. The opinion piece states : “Savannah’s celebrity chef has been lynched – figuratively and publicly in the court of public opinion, and without a full and fair accounting of the facts.” Why? Mostly because the 66-year-old master of comfort food recipes and self-made mogul “said ‘no’ to the equivalent of a shakedown.” The editorial uses the lynching metaphor as “a reminder that justice should be dispensed in court, not at the end of a rope” or “by money-grubbing lawyers.” When Deen refused to pay $1.25 million in hush money to a former employee of her brother’s restaurant, the paper says, “the lynch mob began forming.” How bad was the effort to bilk and slander Paula? Savannah attorney S. Wesley Woolf reportedly wrote to Deen’s lawyer, on behalf of Lisa Jackson : “Exposure of the racist and sexist culture of her corporate and personal life is going to permanently, and irreparably, damage the value of the brand,” “If we are unable to settle, the Complaint will not be quietly filed. I am making arrangements for a press conference on the day of the filing.” “I have identified the journalist for the New York Times who covers civil rights matters and he will be provided a pre-filing exclusive.” “A nationwide press release will be issued to the major networks, newspapers, newsmagazines and news websites across the country.” The Times didn’t break the June 19 story about Deen using racial slurs (in the distant past) – the National Enquirer did – but the story spread rapidly. The Morning News notes that Jackson’s goal was “whipping a mob into a frenzy,” and calls it “a lynching for our times,” a term it insists is fitting. None of this absolves Deen from using a racist slur, the paper says, but “there is such as thing as punishment fitting the crime … this doesn’t come close.” “These rope burns were undeserved.” Do you agree? Was Deen the victim of a virtual lynch mob? Or did she deserve what she got? Share your comments with us and vote in our survey below: Should Deen have been fired? Yes, there is no excuse for what she did. No, cut the woman some slack people! No, I just like her food, who cares what she says/does! View Poll »
Kim Kardashian made sure her man’s first-ever Father’s Day was a memorable one this year. Kanye West revealed via Twitter that his baby mama gifted him with two Apple computer mice last month, one signed by Steve Jobs and and the other by Steve Wozniak. Their relevance? West told The New York Times recently that his is the Steve Jobs of the Internet . Kanye included the photo above along with his Tweet, one of just seven he has written since May. The entire World Wide Web, of course, continues to wait on photos of North West , as West and Kardashian remain oddly quiet and private regarding their newborn. We hope everything is alright.
It has become almost second nature nowadays that the moment a film is the slightest bit successful and has the scant possibility of a sequel that a second or third, or in some cases even a fourth, movie is thought to be a certainty. So it’s hard to imagine that the hugely popular Bridesmaids was a one-off, but that’s exactly as Kristen Wiig wanted it. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar , Wiig made it clear that she has no interest in penning a sequel (with co-writer Annie Mumolo) to her 2011 hit. “It wasn’t a hard decision,” she says. “We knew during the first one that this was it. We would have made a lot of money if there was a second one, but that’s not my goal in my creative life.” For now Wiig is undoubtedly focused on her upcoming film, Girl Most Likely , with Darren Criss, that opens on July 19th. You can check out the Girl Most Likely trailer here!
Alec Baldwin going off on a reporter is not unusual. It’s become more of a norm for this actor than hosting Saturday Night Live . But Baldwin took his rage to a disturbing extreme last week when he blasted Daily Mail reporter George Stark for allegations the writer made about Baldwin’s wife. The Emmy winner has since apologized for the homophobic nature of his remarks, but Anderson Cooper has still raised an interesting question regarding Baldwin, an outspoken liberal. “Why does#AlecBaldwin get a pass when he uses gay slurs?” the openly gay anchor wondered on Twitter. “If a conservative talked of beating up a ‘queen’ they would be vilified.” Cooper then re-Tweeted a message from CNN producer Steve Krakauer, who quoted the excerpts of Baldwin’s tirade that read: ”[I’d] put my foot up your f**king ass, George Stark, but I’m sure you’d dig it too much.” What does that mean, Alec? both Krakauer and Cooper asked. No direct response yet from the star, but what do you think of Baldwin’s Twitter rant? It was deserved! It was homophobic! Dude has problems. View Poll »
