Florida Pastor Burns Copies Of Koran This guy is at it again… An Islamophobic pastor in Florida is playing with fire once again. Terry Jones, who sparked international outrage in 2010 when he vowed to burn copies of the Koran, ignited copies of the Islamic holy book outside his Dove World Outreach Center Saturday night, according to the Gainsville Sun. The pastor — who once promised he would “not ever” burn a Koran — also burned an image depicting the prophet Muhammad, the newspaper reported. Jones carried out the incendiary act along with about 20 others to protest the imprisonment of Pastor Youcef Nadarkhani, a Christian jailed in Iran since 2009 for his religious beliefs, according to the Christian Post. “Our end result is we would like to have these things brought in front of the United Nations,” Jones told the newspaper. “We would like Islam-dominated countries to adapt at least some form of human rights, freedom of speech, and freedom of religion rights; individual rights [and] civil rights. That would be the outcome that we would desire.” Jones has denied his actions were responsible for any violence. The Gainsville fire department and police quickly arrived after Saturday’s incident. Jones was fined nearly $300 when fire officials said he did not have the proper authorization to burn books, the Gainsville Sun reported. Jones, a former hotel manager turned preacher, first gained notoriety two years ago for placing “Islam is of the Devil” signs outside his church. He then sparked headlines, and condemnation, when he organized “International Burn-a-Koran Day.” Jones eventually called off that Koran burning event. “We feel that God has told us to stop,” he said at the time. However, in 2011, a member of his church burned a Koran and streamed it live via the Internet. That incident was blamed for fueling violent protests in Afghanistan and Indonesia. Source

TMZ cites sources who say Whitney’s mother, Cissy, is especially distraught over the tabloid actually taking this measure, but there are no plans to open any kind of investigation into the source of this photo, which the newspaper has the nerve to refer to as ” beautiful .” Meanwhile, Carolyn Whigham, owner of the Whigham Funeral Home in Newark, tells The Daily News that neither she nor her staff had anything to do with the image or its leak. “We did not take that photo. We did not sell the photo. We would never do something like that,” she said to the newspaper . “Whitney was a friend. I’m the one who flew to Los Angeles and got Whitney from the coroner’s office. I did everything to protect her.”

Sad, sad, news out of New Orleans. Remember the viral video of a teenager getting spanked on Youtube for his gang affiliations? Well, the once-comical story took a horrible turn. According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office said Michael Taylor, 16, was found shot to death shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 7 when deputies responded to a report of gunshots in the area. Taylor had been shot multiple times. Sgt. Larry Dyess, JPSO spokesman, told the Times-Picayune that authorities had no suspect or motive in the incident. Taylor’s mother, Kimberly Ward, told the newspaper that she kept strict tabs on her son, even making him stay on the sidewalk in eyesight of their home when he went outside. The night of the shooting, she said, Taylor received a text message from a friend at about 8 p.m. and went outside to chat. “She said she called him back inside a few minutes later to find out what was going on, and he told her he was just talking and went back outside. A few minutes later, her daughter received a text message saying that Taylor had been shot, and then another saying he was dead,” the newspaper reported. “Ward said she rushed from the house, driving around the neighborhood looking for her son, but didn’t find him until she was coming back to her apartment complex. That’s when she saw his body on the cold sidewalk, clad in the red sweatshirt she’d noticed when he left the house. “I came home and saw my son on the ground,” Ward said. There aren’t any suspects in the case. It’s just so sad. We thought that maybe the embarrassing video would help him get on the right path. This just brings tears to our eyes. The singer gave birth to a son named Dallas Xavier Barrino today. He was born in North Carolina and checked in at 7 lbs., 9 oz. and 21 inches long. Fantasia also has a 10-year old daughter from a previous relationship. “I feel so blessed that my son Dallas Xavier was born healthy, and is a wonderful new addition to our family,” the 27-year old tells People . “I thank all my fans for their well wishes and continued support.” Fantasia has not gone public with the identity of the new child’s father, but it’s been strongly reported that he’s Barrino’s long-time boyfriend, Antwaun Cook .
