Lady Gaga Doubles Up At Grammy Nominations Special

Gaga opens and closes the show, with an assist from country duo Sugarland. By James Montgomery Lady Gaga opens the “Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!” Photo: Lester Cohen/ WireImage Anyone who has ever seen Lady Gaga is aware that she knows how to work a look. And on Wednesday’s (November 30) “Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!,” she worked two of them, both about as different as could be. As she announced earlier, Gaga served as both the opening and closing act during the telecast, and, of course, those two roles required two totally different sides of the Mother Monster. She started things off with a steampunk -y version of “Marry the Night,” opening the song on a stage littered with smoking pipes and scattered bits of scrap metal. Her face done up like a skeleton (or perhaps Zombie Boy ?), wearing a black cloak, she solemnly sang the song’s opening lines, as a group of gothed-up dancers cavorted around her. Take a closer look at this year’s Grammy nominees through photos! As the beat kicked in, she shed her cloak (revealing a sport coat, matching underwear set and, of course, thigh-high boots) and hit the harmonies hard, while guitars wailed and those dancers posed and popped. Then the whole thing gave way to a particularly fierce dance segment, which brought the performance to a close and earned a standing ovation from the industry-heavy crowd (David Guetta seemed particularly pumped, it should be noted). And after the nominations were revealed, Gaga was back to wrap things up, and she did so in true Grammy style, joined onstage by country duo Sugarland for a husky, musky version of “Yo

My Bieber Experience took place in Summer 2011. I went to…

My Bieber Experience took place in Summer 2011. I went to Canada for a student exchange and I lived 7 hours away from Stratford. I wanted to go there so bad, but at first it seemed like there wouldn’t be a possibility to go. Anyways, it changed and a week before I went there I got told that I would. A friend from Germany also told me about a Bieber Map, which shows you some places where Justin used to spend his free time and I looked for it and found it. When it was the day I went to Stratford I was so excited that I couldn’t really sleep the night before. The ride to Stratford seemed like forever. When there were there, I saw the Stratford sign, which you can see in the movie. We stopped and I took the first picture. Then I went downtown and looked at everything where you can see in the movie, our just from some old YouTube videos or pictures. I was so proud to be there and to get the chance to see all that. We ate in the Pizza Pizza and sat there where Justin sat in ‘Never Say Never’. I went at the Avon Theatre steps and at his school, soccer field and more. I also went down to the river where Justin runs over and screamed, “Aye Ryan, aye”. When I walked down there I noticed some boys with BMX and I’m not sure about it but I think one of them was Chaz.  I know I didn’t meet Justin and I didn’t get a DM or anything else but for me, it was an awesome experience and I thought I would never get the chance to go to Stratford and see how he grew up, but I did! All of you should believe in their dreams and follow them, because it’s worth it! Every time you get a little bit closer to your dream you should be happy and thankful for the chance to get closer to it! Follow your dreams and stay positive! Never Say Never! The 2012 Grammy Nominees Revealed … Possibly

Adele, Kanye West and more Grammy guesses, in Bigger Than the Sound. By James Montgomery Adele Photo: Getty Images On Wednesday night (November 30), CBS will officially kick off the self-congratulatory season with “The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!,” an emphatically titled extravaganza that not only features performances from some of music’s biggest stars (Lady Gaga, Rihanna, Usher, etc.), but also boosts the network’s burgeoning LL Cool J branch by something like 20 percent, since he’s taking leave from “NCIS” duties to host the telecast. Oh, and as the title implies, they’ll also be unveiling a handful of Grammy nominees too, which means that, once again, it’s time for me to blindly speculate on who will get the nods. After all, it was less than 10 months ago that acts like the Arcade Fire and Esperanza Spalding shocked the world — or at least Steve Stoute — by taking home half of the so-called “Big Four” Grammys, victories that seemed out of place in just about every conceivable way, especially when you realize Taylor Swift, Beyonc

Earlier this year, his Comedy Central special “Elephant in the Room” premiered on the network. For those who knew him best, it was his bigger-than-life personality that will be missed most. “Yes it’s true that our pal Patrice O’Neal has passed away,” Opie, a.k.a. Gregg Hughes, tweeted . “The funniest and best thinker i’ve ever known PERIOD. #devastated.” He then tweeted out a link to a video of the late comedian laughing on the radio show, simply adding, “Patrice O’Neal Greatest Laugh EVER.” Born in Boston on December 7, 1969, O’Neal got his start on the stage and in the early ’90s and moved to Los Angeles to shoot for the big leagues. Was “Ridickulous” Too Ridiculous For Kandi’s Party? “RHOA” [RECAP]

Read more from the original source:

Last night was another episode of “Real Housewives of Atlanta.” Yes, there were a lot of events that happened on this episode i.e. Kim and Kroy deciding whether to have their unborn son circumcised, Cynthia and Peter finally confronting Cynthia’s sister about her actions at their wedding, Nene confessing that she and Greg may have “rekindled” their old flame (if you know what I mean) and Sheree, Phaedra and Phaedra’s “big ol donky booty” (as she likes to call it) confronting the “construction” worker about not finishing Sheree’s house. Of all these events, I definitely think Kandi’s 35 th birthday party overshadowed everything in this episode. First, lets talk about Lawrence’s outfit for the night. I wasn’t sure whether to applaud him for his originality and bravery or be afraid. But I will say that he definitely stole the attention when he walked in the room, and who doesn’t want to have a gay best friend at a birthday party? Work it! Aside from Lawrence’s outfit, everything seemed to run smoothly until Nene walked into the party. Sheree and Phaedra were on one side of the room while Nene and Cynthia stayed on the other side with Kandi in the middle attempting to entertain both parties. Both groups kept going on and on about how they weren’t worried about what the other was doing and how they’re both so over the situation. And the drama continues… After a lot of trash talking, drinks and laughs between the girls, it was time for the main event: Phaedra’s gift to Kandi or as Kandi called it, “The Infamous Ridickulous” If you remember last season, Phaedra mentioned that she knew a male stripper that was rather “talented” and could actually pleasure himself. Well, in this episode, we finally got to see Ridickulous in action and I will admit, I was a little afraid and agreed with Lawrence when he said, “I’m not sure if that was a blessing or a curse!” Phaedra’s birthday present definitely brought a lot of life and laughs to the party, but judging the reaction of Kandi’s mother, Nene and Cynthia, I couldn’t help but to think that having a male stripper whip out his “male parts”, twirl it around like a towel and then plop it in Kandi’s drink was a little gross and enough to make you want to vomit. Thank God for censors! Was Ridickulous a little too much for Kandi’s birthday party? Would you want a stripper like Ridickulous at your birthday party? Yelawolf Recruits YouTube Fan For Radioactive Debut

Mona Moua’s video lands her on rapper’s ‘Write Your Name.’ By Rob Markman Yelawolf Photo: MTV News It’s not every day an artist takes a fan and gives them a feature on an album, but with Radioactive, Yelawolf did just that, placing singer Mona Moua on his debut LP. After Moua failed to get into a sold-out Minneapolis show, she went home and recorded “Ode to Yelawolf” and uploaded the original composition to YouTube . “It was actually really good,” Yela told MTV News about the song and video Moua uploaded back in April. “Her melody was good, she could play guitar. … I was a bit blown away by how talented she was.” In the video, Moua strums the guitar while singing about her disappointment after not getting into the sold-out show. “No Trunk Muzik for me,” she sang before integrating Yela song titles like “Mixing Up the Medicine” and “Pop the Trunk” into the rest of her sullen lyrics. Little did Moua know that the heartfelt display would land her on ‘Wolf’s “Write Your Name” on Radioactive, which dropped last week. “We had a record called ‘Write Your Name’ about the unsung hero, and it just so happened that her tone, it just fit perfectly,” he said, crediting the idea to Ghet-O-Vision head Kawan “KP” Prather. “KP had the idea to bring her out and put her on the hook and she killed it.” Produced by J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League, “Write Your Name” mixes the drums from Rick Ross’ “Aston Martin Music” with a new, melancholy piano melody. On the track, Yelawolf uses his small-town come-up from Gadsden, Alabama, to exemplify how much more untapped talent may be waiting in the wings. Moua sings the all-too-perfect hook, “I’ll write your name across the sky and take away the stars, ’cause you light up the night/ You’re as high as the moon, when you’re here with me/ That’s why I’m gonna write your name for the world to see.” Have you heard “Write Your Name” yet? Sister Wives Season Finale Recap: Welcome, Solomon!

In typical reality show fashion, we already knew about Kody Brown’s 17th child being born well before the episode aired, but Sunday we got a behind-the-scenes look. The emotions leading up to Robyn’s delivery of son Solomon were wide-ranging, including those of Kody’s first three wives, Meri, Christine and Janelle. How did the original three take it? What else went down? At lunch, Robyn says she’s nervous about how Kody feels about another child. Meri, Christine and Janelle reassure her that “Kody’s great” and that she’s going to feel “relieved.” Just what one wants to feel when one’s spouse cares. Relief. Robyn tells the wives that they are the reason Kody is so great. Heartfelt? Most likely. Politically savvy comment? Absolutely. You gotta get in good right now. Christine may be coming around as a result, too. Making peace with Robyn, she admits, “Being jealous of her, what it really did, it made her feel like she wasn’t welcome. That I didn’t want her as a sister wife.” “I welcome Solomon as my son and I promise to be better,” Christine adds, while Janelle is just sort of excited. Excited, but not get-up-at-all-hours excited. Meri observes, “It’ll be fun to have Solomon, but it’ll be very different than if it were my own.” Ya think, Meri? She and Robyn have become very close, though. She says she always wanted to feel that deep kind of connection with a sister wife and Robyn was the first to provide that. Oh, snap, Christine and Janelle. After the due date comes and goes (by two weeks), Robyn goes into labor, at home, and gives birth, at home. This happened on October 25, so it’s pretty timely. Meri came over to say, “Good luck! Happy pushing!” Read: I’m glad it’s not me! A few hours later and voila, Kody and Robyn welcomed their first child together. “I was impressed,” Kody said. “Here’s our dream come true.” Wonderful. Perhaps the most startling moment of the night, in a good way, came when Robyn said she needed to talk to Meri alone. But not to stir up drama. “I want to know if you want me to be your surrogate,” she says. Meri can’t bear children, so this is one incredible offer … from the woman also married to her husband. Robyn is genuine in her offer, and Meri is clearly moved. In this family-themed episode, the other 16 Brown children talked about the move from Utah to Vegas. It’s going well, for the most part. Keep the faith, kids. Well, that’s that. What did you think of this season of the quirky TLC reality hit? What do you think of Kody Brown and his four beloved Sister Wives in general?

Charlize Theron Teases Kristen Stewart ‘Showdown’

‘I’m just really, really, really hoping I get to kill her,’ the ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ star jokes to MTV News. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Charlize Theron in “Snow White and the Huntsman” Photo: Universal Ever since the trailer arrived for Kristen Stewart’s next likely blockbuster, “Snow White and the Huntsman” — a.k.a. her first big post-“Twilight” movie — we’ve been chomping at the bit for more info about the film. Luckily, MTV News had a fun-filled chat recently with Stewart’s “Huntsman” co-star Charlize Theron, during which the South African-born beauty revealed that she and Stewart are about to shoot the film’s climactic battle sequence. “I’m still shooting [‘Huntsman’], I’m going back in two days,” Theron told us as she promoted the comedy “Young Adult.” “I haven’t really worked with [Kristen]. I’ve done some small things with her, but we’re about to shoot our big showdown, and fingers crossed for me. It’s the big battle. I’m just really, really, really hoping I get to kill her,” she said with a smile. “That is how the story ends up, right?” While the Rupert Sanders-directed flick is a new adaptation of the classic fairy tale, somehow we don’t think Theron will get her wish. Maybe her Evil Queen will wound Stewart’s Snow White in some way, but death doesn’t seem too likely. For her part, Stewart has had nothing but praise to heap on the film — so much so that she’s open to the idea of doing more than one movie as the fairest one of all. “Oh, man, to be totally candid and honest with you, when I first signed on to this thing, the idea of doing another franchise was like, ‘Wow, [we’ll] cross that bridge when it comes.’ It was something so far outside my realm of thinking,” Stewart told us recently. “I was so focused on the first one, and I thought, ‘Maybe, maybe,’ but I’ve got stars in my eyes. I’m literally over the moon about what I’m doing right now,” she said of her work on “Huntsman.” “Yes, I would love to [do more ‘Snow White’ films].” Check out everything we’ve got on “Snow White and the Huntsman.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . Selena Gomez ‘Humbled’ By 2011

‘I feel like this approach of this year, I wasn’t expecting any of the things that happened,’ Gomez says. By Jocelyn Vena Selena Gomez Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images Selena Gomez has had quite a year. Not sure what we’re talking about? Let us refresh your memory. She toured, hosted the VMA pre-show , hosted the EMA show in Belfast, Northern Ireland, released several music videos off her album When the Sun Goes Down, including “Hit the Lights,” starred in the flick “Monte Carlo” and said goodbye to her Disney series, “The Wizards of Waverly Place.” So when Gomez looks back on 2011, what will she remember most? “To be honest, it would probably be when my series ended and not in, like, a happy way, but it was kind of like it was a new chapter in my life,” she told MTV News. “I think it was a really interesting time for me and that time in this year was probably my favorite.” The series wrapped filming earlier this year, but will continue airing into early 2012. While saying goodbye to her show resonated with the star, she could have never foreseen how big her We Own the Night Tour would be. “My music, for sure, [surprised me], like touring. I definitely was excited to get on the road and be able [to have] my first headlining tour,” she said. “I was excited to go everywhere and meet my fans and experience different places. To be honest, I didn’t expect the tour to do as well as it did, and we went to Canada and Canada was amazing and made me feel very humbled.” As 2011 rolls along, Gomez is going into the coming year with the same philosophy she had for the last. “I feel like this approach of this year, I wasn’t expecting any of the things that happened,” she said. “And so I just kind of want to go into the end of this year and the beginning of next year just excited and in a good place and not planning anything.” Before the new year does come along, Gomez has some plans to just spend the holidays with those she loves. “I’m gonna have a week off for Thanksgiving, which will be nice, and then a week and a half or two weeks for Christmas time,” she said. “And then I’m going to just relax and do nothing.” She has a busy year ahead of her that includes hitting the set of her next film, “Spring Breakers,” co-starring James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens and Emma Roberts.
