At ‘Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2’ premiere, author says, ‘This feels like a new beginning to me.’ By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Danielle Genet J. K. Rowling Photo: MTV News After more than a decade onscreen, the “Harry Potter” franchise will end July 15. The cast and crew had a big, sob-inducing farewell Wednesday at the London premiere of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2.” Amidst the sad goodbyes and constant cheering of fans, MTV UK caught up with “Potter” scribe J.K. Rowling to ask about her experiences turning her novels into films. “Hundreds of people have been involved,” Rowling said. “There’s not one of them I don’t think was indispensible and phenomenal. The most talented groups of people you could’ve found, and I just love them. The idea I won’t be able to go down to Leavesden and visit anymore is just sad.” Though Rowling joked several times throughout the night that she would return to “Potter” — “You know what? Maybe I’ll just write another one,” she teased — she also said she has some other projects on the horizon. She was most likely referring to the same one she talked about in February, telling BBC News she was “writing hard.” “I’m writing, and I’ve done quite a lot since finishing ‘Harry,’ ” she said. “I also felt I wanted the last film out of the way before I made any moves on the publishing front. ‘Harry’ is so huge and I suppose my involvement with the world has still been quite intense. This feels like a new beginning to me.” Since being released, the books have sold more than 450 million copies, and the films have grossed about $6.37 billion. Rowling told MTV UK she didn’t start out writing expecting this sort of success, and that’s not the way she measures the success of her books: She measures it by the way it has affected her readers. “Nothing makes me prouder ever than to meet a child or the parent of a child who says he/she never read before ‘Harry Potter,’ ” Rowling said. “Nothing makes me prouder than that.” We’re streaming live from the red carpet at the New York premiere of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” on Monday, July 11, at 4:30 p.m. ET. My Bieber experience started on June 22nd 2011. I knew the whole week before that Justin would be in NYC so he could have his fragrance launch. I spent the whole week stressing over how I might not be able to see him because nobody knew where the launch actually was! On Tuesday night, I found out that you had to go to Macy’s on Wednesday morning at 10am, be one of the first 325 people to buy Someday and then get wristbands to come back on Thursday and meet him! I REALLY wanted to go, but I knew my mom would say no and that if I did go, I had to go very early. I begged and cried for like an hour straight until she finally gave in and said I could miss school. She would bring me into the city at 3:30am on Wednesday morning. The line was already down 1 whole block! They let me on line and I waited for 6 hours until it was finally 10am. They started giving out passes, I was number 151 out of 325! I bought my perfume and got two meet and greet passes. It didn’t really hit me until Thursday morning. I was freaking out and I had no idea what to wear or what I was gonna say to him! I was in the middle of the line and Justin didn’t show up until around 4:30. Then the line started to move. I was finally getting close to the front of the line. I was doing well, not crying or anything until I got into the room where I actually saw him. I started hysterical crying and hyperventilating. I couldn’t help it! I only had a minute to pull myself together because I was 3 people away from going up to Justin and humiliating myself. I walked up to Kenny and by then I managed to stop crying and calm down. I walked up to Justin and I had no idea what to do. I walked to his opposite side so I would be on the left in the picture. I fixed my hair and then he put his arm around me for the picture and his fingers went through my hair!! I looked at him and he looked at me and I like..LOST IT. Without even thinking about it, unintentionally I was like, “HOLY SHIT! I LOVE YOU.” It honestly just came out. I did not even mean to say it, I was so embarrassed. I had no idea how he was gonna react, I was shaking like crazy. Luckily he started cracking up and he was like, “Nah, I love you!” I died. We took the picture and then before I left, he squeezed me for like a side hug before he took his arm off me and KISSED ME ON THE TOP OF MY HEAD . It was the best 45 seconds of my life and I will never forget it! -@nicoleeex17 Read the original: My Bieber experience started on June 22nd 2011. I knew the whole…
I always had hope that one day I would write my own Bieber experience but I still just cannot believe it! Here is my story. I had bought my tickets for Justin Bieber’s concert in Adelaide , May 5 th 2011 and I was just way to excited! One of my best friends Bella and I are like the biggest fans and we have been supporting JB for about 2 years together! Our biggest dream was to meet him and we never gave up. We entered every single competition there was, no joke and sadly won none. It was 2 nights before the concert and I was talking to another friend from school, she told me about this one on BIEBERFEVER.COM and said not many from Adelaide entered so I had a good chance! It was the night before the concert and I was sleeping at Bella’s house. We still hadn’t heard anything from bieberfever so we assumed we had lost and went to bed pretty upset! I woke up to a slap on my face, all I heard was Bella screaming, “SARAH SARAH WE WON OMG IM NOT EVEN JOKING. WE ARE MEETING JUSTIN BIEBER!!!” She started crying and I thought I was dreaming, considering I was half asleep. Everyone was so happy for us and I just still couldn’t get through my mind that I WAS GOING TO MEET JUSTIN BIEBER! Just what the hell I couldn’t believe it! We spent the day stressing about what to wear and getting gifts for him! It was an intense day haha! We got to the entertainment centre, collected my wristbands for both Bella and I and went in to this small room waiting to meet Justin!! So many emotions were rushing through me I was getting so nervous and excited. I couldn’t wait much longer. Suddenly the security guard called for the next group of 4. This was it! Bella, Adri, Izzy and I went in. I put my gifts on the table and turned around and there he was, standing there in his hoodie! He put his arms out for a hug and said, “Hey guys” Omg I think I died inside, like in person he is so much more amazing! I was just in shock and Kenny noticed all our faces were just like :O and he was like, “do you remember his name?” and started laughing. I stayed next to him and we had a photo. After they took the photo I looked up to him cause he’s taller. He looked down and smiled and said, “Thank you so much!” He had his arm around me and then we had to leave so we all said goodbye I hugged him again and wished him luck for the show! Once we left, Bella like collapsed and started crying. We went to our seats and it was just the most amazing concert I have ever been too. That whole day will be one I will never ever forget! Also a month later , June the 5 th , Justin followed me on Twitter! I have never been so excited in my life; I MET HIM AND HE FOLLOWED ME! My life could not get any better! I seriously felt so extremely lucky. Meeting him was the most amazing moment in my life so far and I am so thankful I got the chance! He is an incredible person and so nice! – @sarzfantasia Read this article: I always had hope that one day I would write my own Bieber…

Sebastian Ingrosso, Steve Angello and Axwell tap rising star Zedd for a remix of their current single. By Akshay Bhansali Swedish House Mafia Photo: Kevork Djansezian/ Getty Images Fans of Swedish House Mafia know the holy trinity of house — Sebastian Ingrosso, Axwell and Steve Angello — as not only superstar DJ/producers in their own right, but also as tastemakers in the music business, launching impressive young talent into a completely different stratosphere. In Miami, at their Masquerade Motel: One Night Stand party in March, Swedish House Mafia debuted the epic “Nillionaire” by rising electronic dance music star Alesso (signed to Ingrosso’s label, Refune), who has since gone on to have tremendous Beatport.com chart success with his “Pressure” remix (originally by Nadia Ali, Alex Kenji and Starkillers) and his remix of SHM’s latest single, “Save the World.” Now, they introduce you to Zedd , a.k.a. Anton Zaslavski. Hailing from Kaiserslautern, Germany, the 21-year-old Zedd comes from a family of musicians (his father was in several bands and played classical guitar and his mother taught him how to play piano) and began producing electronic dance music in 2009, though he also plays in a metal band called Dioramic. He began receiving EDM acclaim after winning two Beatport.com remix competitions and has had dance charting success with his singles “Autonomy,” “The Legend of Zelda” and “Anthem.” Zedd has also collabed on mixes for a few folks you may know: Lady Gaga, Black Eyed Peas, Diddy and dubstep star Skrillex. The three Swedes are unleashing Zedd’s new mix of their hit single “Save the World,” an electro house banger that has been making it into superstar DJ sets and gathering nods from some of the biggest acts in dance music. “Respect to mister @zedd for his killer Save the world tonight remix, thats the one you’ve been waiting for!” Afrojack tweeted recently. MTV News has the exclusive premiere: Stream “Save the World” (Zedd Remix) in the player above. The song will be made available for purchase in the next two weeks. I have loved and believed in Justin Bieber for so long. He’s made me cry from happiness and given me hope when I was completely bummed out on whatever I was going through in life. It’s not just that he’s famous and completely and utter hotty, it’s the fact that he has so much in him that attracts you to want him. My biggest wish is to meet him one day, actually have a conversation and hang out. So that I can find his faults and he can see what I can be like instead of seeing me as some crazy fan. Hey, my name’s Natasha. No, I didn’t meet Justin Bieber, although I did meet Scooter Braun. I tried getting a concert ticket to see Justin Bieber but they sold out so quickly I never had the change to buy one. I had to try everything I could to get my hands on a ticket. I registered into competitions, I searched eBay, I asked friends and then one night a friend had two! She was selling them last minute because she had extras. I told my parents, they said yes but when I got back to her, she had already sold them. I didn’t win any of the contests and was left devastated and crying. My dad suggested we go to the entertainment centre the night of Bieb’s concert to see if anybody had a ticket they were selling. We got ready and went. I was stressing and honestly didn’t have much hope at all. We probably stayed there for about 2 hours, but when it got to 7:30pm I decided it was probably time to give up. I sat down and tried not to cry or stress anymore but a second later a guy appears. He just looked like an ordinary guy that was taking his daughter in or something. He said, ”Hey, do you have a ticket?” ”Um, nope..” (I wasn’t sure who he was and didn’t exactly know why he was talking to me) Then he said, “Never say never right?” ”Hah.. yeah, just seeing if we can find some last minute tickets” He then waved over to a guy in a hoodie who came over . As soon as he took off his hoodie and I could see his face, I knew who he was. Scooter Braun , was standing right infront of me, I WAS GOING CRAZY, but I didn’t show it haha. The guy said, “This is Scooter Braun” and I was like, ”I KNOW!!!!” All of a sudden, Scooter Braun handed me the ticket. I blurted out, ”OMG REALLY!? ARGH! CAN I HUG YOU”, but without a reply, I still jumped up and hugged him. He told me to quickly hurry because the concert had already started but Justin hadn’t come out yet. It was the last ticket he had, so my dad just waited in the car. I explained exactly what happened to my dad and told him I’d call him after the concert, hugged him and went in. Scooter said, “It’s just like you’re in the movie!” The other guy who talked to me first turned out to be Justin Bieber’s drum tech. I had a bit of a conversation with him about how there time has been in Brisbane and whatever I could really talk about since I was so excited and trying not to cry and go crazy. Scooter led me to a door into the concert, we took a quick photo and then the drum tech guy took me to my seat. I was four rows from the stage, dead set centre on the floor. It was amazing, I thought I would have just gotten some seat up high far away, but it was the best seat anyone could ask for . That night was one of my most beloved memories ever. It was the best experience and just AHHH. Justin was of course amazing and I was singing, dancing and jumping around the whole time. I will never forget that night, I have the ticket on my wall right next to the picture with Scooter. -@tasha_bieber Continued here: I have loved and believed in Justin Bieber for so long….
Five people were arrested, five officers injured during Smif-n-Wessun’s album release party on Tuesday. By Rob Markman Smif-n-Wessun Photo: MTV News It was all love, according to Brooklyn, New York, rap group Smif-n-Wessun and their producer Pete Rock . That was until the police came and busted up the group’s album-release party in Manhattan on Tuesday night. “It was beautiful, man. Me and my wife and my family walked up in there, everybody giving us love, pounds, they’re happy I’m in the house,” Pete Rock said of the scene at Tammany Hall, the club where Smif-n-Wessun performed and held an album-release party for their new LP, Monumental, released on Duck Down Records. According to Rock, the night went smoothly as he, Tek and Steele (the two rappers who make up the group Smif-n-Wessun) performed songs from their new album in front of the sold-out crowd. For the group, the first signs of trouble arose when the club’s house lights came on. “We noticed two cops came in when the lights came on. Then they went back out, then they came back in,” Pete Rock recalled. The legendary hip-hop producer, who has crafted hits for Kanye West, Busta Rhymes and Mary J. Blige, then saw his friend Lewis Pe

A Tribe Called Quest doc director says he’d do another hip-hop film ‘if things lined up.’ By Rob Markman, with reporting by Kara Warner Michael Rapaport Photo: MTV News The controversy surrounding the documentary “Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest” has not killed director Michael Rapaport’s hip-hop jones. The film has received rave reviews, and if given the chance, Rapaport told MTV News that he has his eye on a few other rap acts that he’d like to turn his lens on. “I would love to document De La Soul,” he said looking directly in the camera making his best pitch. Another group which Rapaport has interest in is Philadelphia hip-hop band the Roots. While the group has had a rotating cast since their 1993 debut, Organix, band leader and drummer ?uestlove, along with MC Black Thought and keyboardist Kamal have been mainstays. Multi-platinum producer Scott Storch was a one-time member, as was rapper Malik B. The Roots have released 10 studio LPs since the early 1990s, and of course, the Grammy-winning group are enjoying success as the in-house band for “Late Night With Jimmy Fallon.” “I would love to document the Roots; I think they have an interesting story,” Rapaport said. “I have a curiosity about them. Their musicality and their live performances I think would be great, and I have a feeling that there are stories behind each one of them.” After filming A Tribe Called Quest for his current work, Rapaport has went back and forth with group member Q-Tip. In light of the experience, when he visited “RapFix Live” in March, Q-Tip urged other rappers to tell their “own stories,” a concept that confused Rapaport . “I don’t know if he meant, ‘We’re from hip-hop, it should be a hip-hop director,’ ” the actor-director admitted to MTV News. “I don’t know who would go under the auspices of being a hip-hop director. Or if it was a racial thing like, ‘We’re black and shouldn’t have a white director.’ It was confusing to me.” As of now, Rapaport isn’t looking to do another rap film in the near future, but he wouldn’t turn it down if the opportunity presented itself. “Right now I’m taking a break from hip-hop documentaries,” he said. “But I would do it if things lined up.” Would you support a Michael Rapaport-directed Roots documentary?
