‘Teen Wolf’ Stars Promise ‘Blood, Shirtless Men And Mystery’

‘Get ready for the gnarliest show you can feast your eyes on,’ Tyler Posey says of show’s post-Movie Awards premiere. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Chris Kim Tyler Posey as Scott McCall in “Teen Wolf” Photo: MTV For fans of all things supernatural, Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards were made for you. Thanks to exclusives from “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” and the big premiere of the new MTV series “Teen Wolf” right after the show, it’s all about sexy creatures of the night. So why should you check out the latest incarnation of “Teen Wolf”? Well, the stars gave MTV News some really convincing reasons. For one, Tyler Hoechlin said, “There’s a lot of mystery.” Crystal Reed added, “Two, there’s a lot of shirtless men,” and Tyler Posey added, “There’s a lot of blood, and that’s all you need in life: blood, shirtless men and mystery. Get ready for the gnarliest show you can feast your eyes on. It’s just going to be a really cool show.” With a werewolf and a pretty girl at the center of the romance of the show, it’s easy to make comparisons to “Twilight.” Posey happens to play a teen wolf on “Teen Wolf” just like Taylor Lautner, but he explained the big difference between his show’s wolves and, you know, those other ones. “We’re not the only werewolves here at the MTV Movie Awards. The kids from ‘Twilight’ also have a couple werewolves of their own, but do they match up to us?” he asked. “My argument [is], we will win in a fight because we have opposable thumbs and we can jab their eyes out, and what’s cooler than jabbing another werewolves’ eyes out?” Hosted by Jason Sudeikis, the 20th annual MTV Movie Awards air live this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT, from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. Aziz Ansari and Nick Swardson share their action-hero dreams at Q&A session. By Eric Ditzian Aziz Ansari and Nick Swardson Photo: MTV News WEST HOLLYWOOD, California — The bar was set super high Friday night (June 3) during MTV’s final Sneak Peek Week screening. Since Monday, we’d been showing early looks at some of the summer’s hottest films and having crazy chats with the various casts. Take, for instance, the moment “Horrible Bosses” star Jason Sudeikis launched into a filthily hilarious explanation of the “The Twilight Saga” : the vampire story as told by a “Star Wars”-obsessed, mind-in-the-gutter comedian. The pressure was on Friday, and the guys from “30 Minutes or Less” — stars Aziz Ansari and Nick Swardson and director Reuben Fleischer — were more than up to the task. Their upcoming action/comedy, it should be said, served as quite the warm-up act for the crowd at the Pacific Design Center. The film stars Jesse Eisenberg as a beer-guzzling, joint-sucking pizza delivery boy who gets sucked into a harebrained scheme, hatched by slackers played by Danny McBride and Swardson, to rob a bank. Eisenberg’s character, with a bomb strapped to his chest and only hours to complete the heist, enlists his pal, a teacher played by Ansari, to help out in the crime. Things do not go very well, to hilarious results. The part represents Ansari’s biggest onscreen role to date. “This is the first time I’ve been around the whole movie,” he said. “Usually I’ll be around for a few minutes, and then they’re like, ‘Just say something about your penis and get out of here!’ ” It was all new for Swardson, too, who cracked that perhaps he has the makings of an action-hero career. “Maybe I’ll be the Predator!” Is launching such a career as easy as that? According to Ansari, at least, the car-chase portion of action flicks is a breeze. “Car chases are pretty easy,” he said. “You’re like, ‘Oooohhhhhhh!’ OK, let’s get another one. ‘Whooooooooa! Look out!’ ” On second thought, though, maybe these guys aren’t cut out to inherent the cinematic thrones of Stallone and Schwarzenegger. It just takes so damn long to shoot one of these flicks, Ansari said. After production wrapped on “30 Minutes,” he added, “I watched ‘Fast Five,’ and I was like, ‘How did this movie not take 20 years to make? Did Vin Diesel start making this when he was 5?’ ” Though Eisenberg and McBride couldn’t make the Q&A, the duo did tape a message for the crowd. “I sent my family a similar taped message at Thanksgiving,” McBride confessed. Said Eisenberg, “We hope you liked the movie. But if you didn’t, by this point it’s on you, because you’re still there.” As the laughter rolled in, no one seemed to be complaining about spending their Friday night at Sneak Peek Week. New Spider-Man Andrew Garfield Gets Thumbs-Up From Emma Stone

‘He looks like Spider-Man,’ says the actress, who plays the superhero’s love interest, Gwen Stacy, in ‘The Amazing Spider-Man.’ By Jocelyn Vena Bryce Dallas Howard and Emma Stone Photo: MTV News It’s not often that two actresses who have appeared alongside one another in one movie have also played the same role in separate films at different times in their respective careers, but that’s just the case with “The Help” co-stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Emma Stone. If you’re a bit confused now, let us quickly untangle this web of a description for you. Howard appeared as the character Gwen Stacy in 2007’s “Spider-Man 3,” while Stone has taken on the same part for the upcoming superhero reboot “The Amazing Spider-Man.” On Thursday night, when Stone and Howard sat down for the latest installment of MTV’s Sneak Peek Week, they opened up about both playing Spider-Man’s love interest. When MTV News caught up with the ladies before the Q&A session, we just had to ask Stone what it was like to see the new Spidey, Andrew Garfield, all decked out in his webbed spandex best. “He looks like Spider-Man, ya know?” she shared. “It’s pretty exciting.” Howard also gave her thumbs-up to the latest Spider-Man. “I saw Andrew in a leaked photo,” she said. “And he looked really good.” The former Gwen Stacy isn’t only excited about Garfield picking up where Tobey Maguire left off, but she’s given her blessing, quite enthusiastically, to Stone too. “I’m one of those people that goes online and reads gossip about movies, so pretty early on, there was some buzz,” Howard explained, adding that she visited Stone in her trailer on the set of “The Help” the minute she heard the casting news. “I was stoked.” Stone elaborated a bit more about her time on set as Stacy, sharing that she had a joyous time making “The Amazing Spider-Man,” which was directed by Marc Webb. “It was great; it was really wonderful,” she dished about shooting the film. “It’s something we both, for some reason, get to be a part of, which is wonderful.” Stick with MTV News all week as we gear up for the 2011 MTV Movie Awards this Sunday with a Sneak Peek Week screening and live-stream Q&A session every night this week. ‘Twilight’ Vs. ‘Harry Potter’: Who Will Win First 2011 MTV Movie Award?

Plus: Jason Sudeikis goes inside nominated movies, Steven Spielberg presents a ‘Super 8′ exclusive and more Act 1 inside scoop! By Kara Warner Robert Pattinson in “Eclipse” Photo: Summit In the last couple days leading up to the 2011 MTV Movie Awards , we’ve been all about bringing fans as close to the awards-show action as possible. The intrepid MTV News team working from the show’s site in Universal City, California, has been privy to countless exclusive sneak peeks, like advance screenings of “Horrible Bosses,” “The Help” and more during our Sneak Peek Week; the promise of an awesome “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” exclusive during the big show; and the very first look at “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” If that isn’t enough to get you to tune in Sunday, MTV News’ Jim Cantiello tracked down the show’s supervising producer, Jane Mun, to get inside info about what viewers can expect to see during the first act of the show. “In Act 1, we have Jason Sudeikis, our host , going in and out of our movies, but I can’t tell you what [exactly] that is, because that’s a surprise that we have to keep,” Mun teased. “You’ll notice right here a name [Taylor Lautner] on this board,” she added, gesturing to a large poster board covered in different-colored pieces of paper, each with names of people and events that will occur during the telecast. “I can’t spill the deets,” Mun said when pressed about what the “Twilight” superstar will be doing onstage. Cantiello suggested that whatever Lautner does, it should be shirtless — which Mun didn’t confirm or deny. “Then we have Jason come out and greet the room and our viewers to a really awesome monologue, ” Mun continued, adding that she’s alerted her censor team that they might have some extra work during Sudeikis’ opener. “I’ve already talked to the censors, and they are in for a treat,” she said with a smile. The first award of the night will be Best Male Performance, which pits supernatural studs Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner (“The Twilight Saga: Eclipse”) against each other and “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1” star Daniel Radcliffe, Jesse Eisenberg (“The Social Network”) and Zac Efron (“Charlie St. Cloud”). Who will come out on top? “Then, we just announced [Thursday] morning, is going to be the exclusive sneak peek of ‘Super 8,’ ” with director J.J. Abrams and producer Steven Spielberg and stars Elle Fanning and Joel Courtney presenting. “And that is our Act 1!” Will wizards, vampires or dream thieves steal the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ? Taylor Swift Is ‘A Pretty Normal Girl,’ Emma Stone Says

At the country/pop star’s urging, Stone talks about her secret baking skills during MTV’s Sneak Peek Week. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Emma Stone Photo: MTV News Emma Stone and Taylor Swift are best gal pals. Stone has opened up about Swift in the past, revealing that the superstar “has such a sick sense of humor,” and when Stone sat down for a Q&A about “The Help” during MTV’s Sneak Peek Week , she divulged a bit more about their relationship. So is Stone digging Swift’s latest album, Speak Now ? “I am indeed. I was lucky enough to hear it pretty early on, so it’s so exciting for it to be out and own the songs instead of just be singing them [in my head],” she dished, sharing that just because Swift is one of the biggest pop stars in the world doesn’t mean she’s at all critical of her friends who can’t sing as well as her. “Taylor’s a pretty normal girl,” Stone said. ” … She’s not [like], ‘I am one of the world’s most popular singers.’ ” Stone’s kind words came shortly after an email was read to her from her superstar pal who wanted to know more about her love of baking. “I’ve been baking at least once a day,” she shared, revealing some of the sweet treats she’s been making the past few months. While she’s got some sweet skills when it comes to confections, when she attempts to bake for a large group, the results aren’t as delicious. “I made 60 biscuits once for a party,” she said. “They didn’t turn out so great, though. I think in bulk I’m a little subpar.” Will wizards, vampires or dream thieves steal the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ? Find out June 5, when the 20th annual show airs live at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Movie Awards Tip To Celebs: Pass (And Drop) The Golden Popcorn!

‘Let it slip. It’s no problem!’ laughs Suz-Anna Dela Rosa, in search of good post-show gossip. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Jim Cantiello Photo: MTV News If there’s one request Suz-Anna Dela Rosa, the woman in charge of handling the Movies Awards’ Golden Popcorn trophies, has for celebs as they prepare for Sunday’s big show, it’s please, please drop the Popcorn. It all started back in 2009, when Kristen Stewart dropped the Golden Popcorn statue she’d just received for Best Female Performance in “Twilight.” The starlet was awkward (and adorable) about the misstep, and the moment is now part of MTV Movie Awards history. Fast-forward to 2010: no dropped awards. Apparently last year’s celebs didn’t want to repeat KStew’s stumble, so they came prepared — with steady hands and good balance. And, of course, that was a good thing, except that it meant Dela Rosa didn’t have too many juicy celeb anecdotes for us when we asked her to dish some dirt after the show. Stewart’s slip in ’09 had gotten us a cute story about how the “Breaking Dawn” star asked Movie Awards staff for her broken Popcorn only to find out they had already tossed it. But last year? “Nothing, not a thing,” Dela Rosa said. “Celebrities, please help us out. Give us a story.” She even suggested that stars give the audience a little fake-out, a tease. “Drop it. Let it slip. It’s no problem!” she joked. With Jim Carrey set to present at the Movie Awards and Jason Sudeikis as the show’s host, she may get her wish.
