Emma Watson ‘Couldn’t Compete’ With Pattinson/Lautner Kiss

‘Harry Potter’ star tells MTV News that all the Movie Awards smooching had her feeling left out. By James Montgomery, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Emma Watson at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday Photo: Steve Granitz/Getty Images Aside from the much-anticipated premiere of a new “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 2” clip during Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards, it was a pretty quiet night for Team Potter, who sat and watched as “Twilight” reaped (nearly) all the awards , besting “Deathly Hollows, Part 1” for Best Movie, Best Male and Female Performance, Best Fight Scene and Best Kiss. In fact, “Potter” took home just one bucket of Golden Popcorn — Tom Felton’s turn as Draco Malfoy earned him Best Villain honors — and as if that weren’t bad enough, it was the stars of “Twilight” who garnered the lion’s share of the headlines too, as everything from Robert Pattinson’s lip-lock with co-star Taylor Lautner to the squeeing reactions to the “Breaking Dawn, Part 1” trailer burned up search engines in the hours following the show. So you could imagine what it must have been like for the “Harry Potter” stars who were actually on hand for the Movie Awards — like, for example, Emma Watson, who not only lost Best Female Performance to Kristen Stewart, but didn’t even get to see the kiss between Pattinson and Lautner. “I missed this moment! I came out, and they were like, ‘Rob just missed Taylor!’ and I was like, ‘Damn!’ ” Watson told MTV News’ Josh Horowitz following the show. “I was still backstage [after introducing the ‘Deathly Hallows, Part 2’] clip, so I missed it. But, I mean, yeah, good on them!” And as if missing out on the kiss-to-end-all-kisses wasn’t bad enough, the whole lip-locking theme of the night had Watson feeling left out. Seems she was the only person who didn’t have someone to kiss. “I mean, I was really up against it. Kristen [Stewart] had two kisses, and Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman making out,” she laughed. “I mean, I couldn’t really compete!” MTV News has all of the highlights from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . ‘Harry Potter’ Fans Ready For ‘Twilight’ Battle Next Year

‘ ‘Twilight’ has this incredibly hard-core fanbase that apparently cannot be beat,’ says one Potter expert. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Wigler Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson and Rupert Grint in “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2” “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” swept the 2011 MTV Movie Awards , and “Harry Potter” fans are not too pleased about it. On Monday (June 6), MTV News caught up with some of the head honchos at leading “Harry Potter” fan sites so they could weigh in on the “Potter” versus “Twilight” Movie Awards rivalry . Some shared their theories about why “Twilight” seems to beat out the Boy Who Lived every time they’re in the same category. “It is a shame because ‘Potter’ definitely deserves it, but ‘Twilight’ has this incredibly hard-core fanbase that apparently cannot be beat,” said Andrew Sims of MuggleNet . “I just hope that next year at the next Movie Awards ‘Potter’ fans actually learn their lesson and get voting.” Although “Potter” fans couldn’t overcome Twilighter fervor, #teampotter did jump to the number two trending topic worldwide on Twitter during the Movie Awards pre-show. Julia Hodges of DanRadcliffe.com and RupertGrint.net was disappointed “Harry Potter” didn’t come away any of the night’s awards — other than Best Villain for Tom Felton — that she believed the series truly deserved. “The ‘Potter’ films [are] not only amazing for the people who love ‘Harry Potter,’ they’re amazing films,” Hodges said. “They’ve been nominated for so many Oscars and they’ve actually won a few, and they were just recognized at the most recent BAFTA awards for Outstanding Contribution to British Cinema, so the quality of the ‘Potter’ films alone is incredible.” But Rosi Halse of the Leaky Cauldron wouldn’t let the fact that “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1” didn’t collect a bunch of Golden Popcorn statues dampen her love of the series. “The ‘Harry Potter’ fanbase is so huge, and we know we love the films and we love the stories and we love the actors,” she said. “I think you can’t help but be proud whether or not they did miss out on the awards.” Next year’s Movie Awards will be the last time a film in the “Harry Potter” franchise will be eligible to compete at the awards show, and the fan sites are already planning to rally Potter-heads to come out in full force and actually bring home some Golden Popcorn. After seeing an exclusive scene from the “Deathly Hallows, Part 2” during the Movie Awards, Halse said she’s convinced that 2012 could be the year of “Potter.” “If that is just a preview of what’s to come, I think it will definitely walk away with a few awards next year,” she said. ‘Breaking Dawn’ Trailer: Best Fan Squeals And Sighs

Twilighters recorded their reactions to the teaser, and we picked our faves. By Kara Warner Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in the “Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” trailer Photo: Summit Entertainment At the 2011 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night, Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner presented the first look at the trailer for “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” Knowing what a fan frenzy the first teaser would create, we asked our dedicated viewers and readers to record and upload their squeal-tastic “Breaking Dawn” reactions to Your.MTV.com , and promised that the top videos would air on MTV’s ” The Seven ” on Monday (June 6). Naturally, you did not disappoint. The winning video is, as expected, chock-full of all the things we’ve come to know and love from the most die-hard “Twilight” fans: girlish squeals and gasps of delight, jumping up and down, sighs and swoons all over the place. It is filled with such genuine adoration and emotion, it’s almost impossible not to be charmed by the two adorable young ladies from Denmark, who posted their video with the user name AgneteFlygerHansen . (CHECK OUT PHOTOS OF THE “TWILIGHT” CAST’S BIG MOVIE AWARDS NIGHT.) In addition to the delighted Danes, Sophia from Hawaii sent in her less vocal but equally intense reaction, followed by Jessika from Tennessee, who tried to control her excited screams by reacting silently. She puts her hands in front of her face, jumps up and down a bit, giddily, but keeps herself from going from silent, shaky glee to full-on screaming. Finally, there is AisyDaisyLady in Michigan, who also practices some of the quiet restraint Jessika did, but in doing so, comes closer to shedding more tears of joy than her fellow submitters. The reactions don’t stop there. We also solicited expert opinions from a few of the most devoted and trusted fan sites . “I am blown away. I can’t believe they showed as much as they did,” Kara Hassell of TwilightersAnonymous.com gushed. “I’m so excited. I didn’t think they would hit as many points as they did. I am very pleased with Bill Condon and how he treated it.” “Completely amazing, completely mind-blowing. Up until this, my favorite trailer was the ‘New Moon’ trailer, and Bill Condon definitely got Chris Weitz; it’s got everything in it that you need,” said Laura Byrne-Cristiano of TwilightLexicon.com . “That’s pretty steamy for a PG-13 movie,” she added. “The thing that made me laugh in a good way right away was Rob Pattinson gripping that headboard, and hearing that crack noise is spectacular.” “The trailer was fantastic,” Kallie Matthews from TwilightSeriesTheories.com weighed in. “It had way more than I thought it would, but it still just wasn’t quite enough. … I was so excited that they had Bella pregnant. The fans are excited about that and we got to see it. I am thrilled; can’t wait to see the next.” MTV News has all of the highlights from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . ‘Breaking Dawn’ Trailer: Best Fan Squeals And Sighs

This all started a few weeks before Justin came to Spain. I…

This all   started   a few weeks   before Justin came to Spain. I was   looking at   the Fan Club here, when   suddenly I saw   that   Justin   will be doing a   signing   in   Spain !   I started   crying   all over the   house   and   quickly   called   Inés.   She   did not   understand   anything   because I was so   nervous .   I repeated   it   and we said that we had   to   convince   our   parents to take us.   Her parents didn’t let her so then it was my turn . My mum said: “That day you have school, so no Irene”. I was like: “Butbutbutubutbutbutbut mum, it’s Justin Bieber!”. So everyday I would repeat it 200 times, and finally my parents said okay! My friend Inés also ended up coming with me. When that day arrived, we could not sleep. It was 29-11-10. That morning we went to school while my dad was waiting in the lineup. Finally   it was time   to   go. When we were on the street, we saw LOTS of Beliebers. There was a lot of people, but we were the frist on the queue, so Justin will sign our CDs, and we also bought his bracelets. When Justin arrived we couldn’t stop screaming. He signed Inés first, and then to mine. I said, “Thank you” (yeah, in English, and I’m from Spain). He smiled to me and Kenny said, “Gracias, gracias” ( in Spanish) and I started to scream. Then he sang some songs, and he was very nice! Never say never and you can have a Bieber experience like this too. Thank you Justin, we love you! -@spain_justin Continued here: This all started a few weeks before Justin came to Spain. I…

My name is Lilee and I live in Townsville, Australia. One thing…

My name is Lilee and I live in Townsville, Australia . One thing that really bothers me is that people instantly assume that I am ‘in love’ with Justin Bieber just because I am a fan of his, but for me this is not the case. I can honestly say that I simply just appreciate his music and nothing else. On December 9th, 2010 myself and my two friends Nicole (@thatnicolekidd) and Candace (@candiebritton) bought our VIP tickets through a pre-sale and were lucky enough to get second row center stage seats. Before this I had never cried over anything Bieber related but I think it was purely over the fact that we had prayed for these exact seats in the exact section and God had answered our prayers. I honestly mean that. Finally, April 22nd 2011 came and we flew from Townsville to Brisbane which was where the concert was. As we were waiting in the Brisbane Airport my friends and I were saying how this didn’t seem real when just at that moment this older couple were walking towards us. I couldn’t figure out who they were but I just knew that I knew their names. Suddenly it hit me that they were Justin’s Grandparents. His Grandmother walked past us and I said hello. She replied and I said I’d see her at the concert on Tuesday. She replied “Yes Tuesday. See you girls there!” She was absolutely friendly and more than happy to talk to us. So that night we went into Brisbane city and were walking near the Hilton hotel when these 3 guys walked passed us. I thought one of them was Scrappy but I wasn’t sure so I didn’t say anything. But then he started talking and I just knew it was him. About 20 minutes later we walked to McDonalds where we found Scrappy and a bunch of other guys sitting down. I worked up the courage to approach him later on out on the street and he was absolutely shocked that I recognised him . He introduced us to some of the other crew members as he conversed with us. They all made fun of my accent and I got about 10 photos with Scrappy and a random video. Before we left he told us he’d wave to us at the concert since he knew where we were sitting. The next day we went back into the city and met a bunch more people from the crew including Scrappy again. He told us that Justin had gotten stuck in Bali due to problems with his jet. I met Michael Vargas 3 times that day and night, Legaci, the other back up dancers , more stage crew members, Marcus (the One Less Lonely Boy) who is incredibly funny and we spoke to Scrappy again. The next day was April 26th – concert day. We basically spent all day getting ready. When we arrived at the Brisbane Entertainment Center everyone had to line up at security. My friends and I were at the front of the line and across from where we were you could see into the windows at the top of the venue. At one point, Ryan Good walked by and so did Justin. He opened the window and waved and was hoping up and down trying to tease us. Of course everyone went crazy. It was adorable. So when we got inside the venue to our seats Scrappy was doing his thing on stage and waved to us as promised. Several times girls kept screaming and pointing to backstage as if they’d seen something. I looked and I saw Justin’s head running away. This only got me more excited for the show. When DJ Tay James was on stage doing his thing Scooter walked on stage to talk to him and I managed to get a photo of Scooter looking directly at my camera. In the first song of the show I held up this tiny sign which read, ‘Hey Dan, @teamkanterAUS’ with an arrow pointing down at me. You see, I own that account and Dan Kanter follows me on it and has tweeted and rt’d me a few times. I literally held the sign up for 2 seconds when he saw it and pointed at me and mouthed ‘OMG, THAT’S YOU?!’ with a massive smile on his face. Of course I and my friends lost it. Dan threw his first guitar pick to me and I caught it. During the night he threw me another one so I have 2 of his guitar picks. He also kept throwing them at my friends and one of them was lucky enough to catch one. Dan was constantly smiling and waving to us all night. Legaci also recognised us and randomly waved which was awesome. At the beginning of ‘Baby’ Michael Vargas was standing directly in front of me when he randomly remembered me from the day before I guess, and so he pointed at me and waved. After the concert, we drove into the city. We randomly decided to walk down some random part of the mall when who do we see? Dan Kanter and Scrappy. They were at some bar with Allison Kaye, Scooter’s assistant and a bunch of other people from the crew. I didn’t even wave at Dan, he just recognised us, waved and then came straight over to us. I shook his hand and introduced myself. He wouldn’t stop thanking me for the account I made for him and he also told me that he had hoped to meet me on the Australian leg of the My World Tour. I died at that point. Haha. He is honestly the sweetest, most humble and genuine person I’ve ever met . We had a normal conversation with him for about 20 minutes, got photos etc and he told us that Justin and his crew are planning on coming back to Australia next year! That same night we also ran into Ryan Good, Scooter and Carin. The next morning we were sitting in the bar at the Sofitel when Dan walked in and came over to our table and was like ‘What’s up guys?’ I don’t think I’ve ever come across any ‘famous’ person in such a ‘normal’ way. He was just like anyone else. Before he left we spoke again. Ryan, Allison, Alfredo, Scooter, Kenny, PJ and Carin were also there. Kenny, Alfredo and PJ stayed behind while the others left for Sydney. We knew Justin was on bed rest so we bought $75 purple flowers and a card which his Grandpa so kindly took up to Justin for us. Candace and I had to fly back to Townsville that night and Nicole was staying for Chris Brown’s concert. Before I left we had a conversation with Alfredo and got photos. The next morning back in Townsville I check my twitter to find I have a mention from someone saying “So you’re one of the girls that gave Justin flowers. Did you get the note from his Grandma?” I freaked out and called Nicole and our other friend Anj (@anjieg) who were still in Brisbane. Long story short, Nicole ran into Justin’s Grandparents before they left for Sydney and we got our note. One of our friends Maddie didn’t get the chance to come to Brisbane for Justin’s concert so her and I spontaneously bought flights to Adelaide and left 2 days later without concert tickets. We knew God would provide for us so we went anyway. In Adelaide we met my friend Anj who was also going to the concert there. We had hoped to be one of the lucky ones who got given tickets by Scooter or Kenny but sadly they didn’t seem to come out. We waited outside the venue in 5 degree weather all night. I knew we couldn’t give up. Exactly half way through the show these 3 random girls came out and gave us their tickets!! We sprinted through the venue screaming, ran down the stairs and into the Auditorium where Justin was half way through performing ‘One Time’. Maddie lost it. She was so upset that all her friends had already seen Justin and she hadn’t but now there she was.. in the same room as Justin Bieber. We couldn’t believe how Good God had been to us. We travelled all the way from Northern Australia to the very bottom of the country with NO tickets to go to a SOLD OUT concert and we managed to get in. It’s all about faith. The next day we met Justin’s drummer in an Alley way where we just had a casual conversation about life and traveling. He was amazed we’d traveled so far with no tickets. After that I met Justin’s Grandparents again where I thanked them in person for holding onto our note in Brisbane. I met Ryan Good and Alfredo Flores again. I also met Dan again who recognised me and screamed “OMG HEY! DID YOU GO TO THE SHOW LAST NIGHT?!” I’ll never forget the people I met, the friends I made or how incredible both of Justin’s concerts were. I am forever grateful that he took the time to write myself, Anj, Nicole and Candace a thank you note and I am completely amazed at how lovely, friendly and genuine everyone on Bieber’s crew is. Team bieber forever. April 22nd-May 6th, 2011 Continue reading here: My name is Lilee and I live in Townsville, Australia. One thing…

I never thought this day will come. I was hopeless and I thought…

I never thought this day will come. I was hopeless and I thought Never Say Never was just a saying, I didn’t believed it. Until one day someone called me and said, “Hey listen, you won a meet and greet with Justin Bieber!” I was like, “Ha? Who is this, I know you’re messing with me”. He said nicely, “No, you really won. Congratulations!” I said thank you so many times and almost cried on the phone. Since that day I never stopped thinking about it. The meeting was right before the concert, so it was even better. I was waiting in the line to enter the meet and greet and I knew my dream was going to come true. I said to myself the whole time, “Don’t cry, don’t be stupid. Be normal. Smile and hug him, that’s it”. When it was my turn, I entered with three other beliebers. The guards said to us,”Don’t hug him, don’t touch him, don’t speak to him, don’t scream, you don’t do anything. You’ll take a picture and leave immediately”. I thought oh my god, WTF? I entered and obviously started crying, I saw him in front of my own eyes! He was so real. I didn’t stand next to him in the picture though, and I cried even more. I stood next to Kenny, and Kenny looked at me and said, “Hey I remember you! Don’t cry! You gave me the guitar for Justin!” (My friends and I gave Kenny our gifts to Justin in the middle of the night. The gift was a guitar filled with his pictures, 2 T-shirts and a hat). I smiled and said, “Yes.. it’s me…” Kenny smiled back and pushed me towards Justin and said, “Hey Justin, this is the girl who made the guitar!” When he said that to Justin, we just stared each other. He looked at me, smiled and said, “Oh thank you so much! It’s amazing. Aww don’t cry!” He came to hug me, and I hugged him back. This hug was all my dreams coming true. This hug was what I wanted for 3 years, this hug proved me to NEVER SAY NEVER. It proved me that dreams DO come true. Then I needed to leave, and the guards pushed me away. But I heard Justin say, “YOU’RE AMAZING. THANK YOU”. I rushed out to my friends and told them everything. The concert started 2 hours later, and it was amazing as always. I’ll never forget this day, BEST DAY OF MY LIFE. Since that day, I knew it. I know I will always be a belieber no matter what. I know I will support Justin forever, until the end. Thank you so much Justin for being you, for being such an amazing person. Never change, youre amazing, just the way you are. ♥ -@SmilingWithJDB Read the original post: I never thought this day will come. I was hopeless and I thought…

I know I will support Justin forever, until the end. Thank you so much Justin for being you, for being such an amazing person. Never change, youre amazing, just the way you are. ♥ -@SmilingWithJDB Read the original post: I never thought this day will come. I was hopeless and I thought…

Robert Pattinson Wishes He Had ‘Something Funny To Say’ After Win

MTV News catches up with ‘Twilight’ stud after Best Male Performance win at the Movie Awards. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards Photo: MTV News In the biggest non-surprise of the night, Robert Pattinson won the MTV Movie Award for Best Male Performance for the third year in a row. But the man himself was still shocked. “I really didn’t think I was going to win. Zac Efron was crying and stuff in that clip!” Pattinson said during his acceptance speech, referring to his fellow nominee’s performance in “Charlie St. Cloud.” Still, he recognized that it was the fans who brought him the win yet again; his first win was in 2009 for “Twilight,” and then again last year for “New Moon.” “I’m consistently surprised, so thank you very much,” he said. “I hope we see you all again next year.” When MTV News caught up with the “Breaking Dawn” star after his big win, he was worried he dropped the ball a bit in his acceptance speech. “I’m just trying to come up with something funny to say to all of these. I pussied out on my first one and said nothing,” Pattinson said with a laugh. Fortunately, the man better known as Edward Cullen followed up his Best Male Performance acceptance speech with a much stronger Best Fight one. He took to the stage with “Eclipse” co-stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Xavier Samuel and, after a moment’s awkwardness, pulled out the humor. “Well, yeah, I won, ha!” Pattinson said as his acceptance. Howard turned to him, apologizing for her villainess role in “Eclipse” by saying, “I guess I should say: I’m so sorry I tried to kill you, Rob.” “It’s all right. I ripped your head off, and now you’re pregnant!” he replied to the audience’s laughter. MTV News has all of the highlights from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards .
