Building 7 Implosion: The Smoking Gun of 9/11

Shortly after the explosive destruction of the World Trade Center Twin Towers, a third high-rise building was destroyed. It wasn’t hit by an airplane. The characteristic signs of controlled demolition were everywhere. Although it received little media attention at the time, the third-worst structural building failure in modern history occurred on September 11, 2001. World Trade Center (WTC) Building 7 was a 47-story, steel-framed, fire-protected, high-rise office building located about a football field’s length from the WTC North Tower. Unlike its two taller cousins, WTC 7 was never hit by an aircraft, yet it fell to the ground suddenly, displaying the classic signatures of explosive controlled demolition. A careful examination of this evidence shows why more than 1,200 architects and engineers are demanding a new and open investigation into all the crimes of 9/11, starting with this aspect, which is most obviously inconsistent with the official account. The evidence discussed in this article was ignored, mishandled, and/or covered up by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), the federal agency last tasked with explaining the unprecedented destruction of the World Trade Center high-rises. The collapse of WTC Building 7 represents one of the worst structural failures in modern history. The official story suggests that fires weakened the structures, resulting in a gravitational collapse. The evidence, obvious to so many researchers but omitted from NIST’s Final Report, supports a very different conclusion – one that points squarely to explosive controlled demolition. If WTC 7 was intentionally brought down, then clearly it becomes a ‘smoking gun” that must be investigated. Who were the terrorists that had access to this highly secure building, occupied in part by the CIA, FBI, Dept of Defense, IRS, SEC, and others, and the technology required to prepare it for demolition? The 1,200 Architects & Engineers for 9/11 Truth present the scientific forensic data, evidence, and eyewitness and video testimony. We do not speculate as to who might have been responsible or how they have, so far, gotten away with the crime of the century. The destruction of the Twin Towers must be re-evaluated as well in light of the WTC 7 revelation. We therefore call for an unimpeachable investigation with subpoena power into the destruction of all three WTC skyscrapers. We ask you to do your part as a citizen to join us in making it happen. Comet impact did not cause mammoths to die out, say scientists

Researchers have previously suggested that the last mass extinction of animals on Earth was triggered by a comet colliding with the planet and sparking a sudden drop in temperature around 13,000 years ago. This sudden change in climate, known as the Younger-Dryas climate reversal, saw many species of large mammals die out and also brought humans to the brink of extinction. But scientists now claim to have disproved the controversial theory after finding a key piece of evidence used to support the comet impact idea could have been created by a more mundane process. Another theory, which proposes that fresh water from a giant glacial lake glaciers poured into the North Atlantic, upsetting the ocean's currents which had helped keep most of the planet ice free, is now the most likely explaination for the shift in climate, which triggered the extinctions. Scientists first put forward the idea that a comet was behind the extinctions after tiny crystals of carbon, known as nanodiamonds, were found in 12,900 year old sediment layers. link:http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/earthnews/7981798/Comet-impact-did-not-cause-mammoths-to-die-out-say-scientists.html added by: Kristena

War for Oil…Obama’s Lust in Afghanistan!

The relationship between fossil fuels and Afghanistan has been written about extensively, just not that much by me. Afghanistan, a landlocked country, has essentially negligible petrochemical resources, but there are vast oil and natural gas fields in Central Asia to the north, notably in Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, and Azerbaijan. Getting those fuels to American, Western European, and even Asian markets requires vast pipelines. http://original.antiwar.com/bock/2009/03/23/afghanistan-all-about-oil/ added by: congoboy

Psycho Talk: Jealous Ed Schultz Claims He Could Easily Rally 300k on National Mall

There’s not really much you can say about this claim, beyond “suuuuure.” Ed Schultz, who attracts just over a quarter of Glenn Beck’s viewership (700,000 vs. 2.6 million viewers), claimed he could out-rally the Fox News host, whose “Restoring Honor” event attracted an estimated 300,000 people to the National Mall on Saturday. “I guarantee you, I could do more than 300,000!” claimed the man who just last week found out he didn’t make the cut for an MSNBC promo. “It ain’t a big deal!” Schultz also claimed that the crowd size at Beck’s rally has absolutely no bearing on Democrats’ prospects in November. Wishful thinking on both counts, it seems. Audio and transcript via Brian Maloney at the Radio Equalizer: Hold it right there! Before we get to her answer, I could get every union head in this country, I could organize every progressive group in this country, the main bloggers. This could be The Ed March. Folks, 300,000 people on the heels of six months’ promotion, that ain’t no big shakes! This is no sign that there’s going to be any big turn of events when it comes to the ballot box and there will be no Democrats in the congress. This is no tea leaf about, “well gosh, they’re coming in November.” Six months’ promotion, NBC News says 300,000 people. I bet I could do that! I bet I could do that with this radio show and my TV show and six months’ production, six months’ promotion, if I had the budget I could equal that march. I know I could! I know I could! I know that I could get Leo Gerard, i could get the Service Employees International Union, I could get AFSCME, I could get all these–I guarantee you, I could do more than 300,000! It ain’t a big deal!

Vanity Fair Attacks Palin as Volatile, Angry, Fake

Another day, another media hit piece aimed at Sarah Palin. Surprise, surprise. A  10,600-word article  in the October issue of Vanity Fair reads like the rambling diaries of a spurned middle school student. Writer Michael Joseph Gross ran through a list of ill-sourced, hearsay attacks on Palin designed to depict her as a raging psychopath – a far cry from the down-to-earth “hockey mom” she portrays in public. But in more than 10,600 words, Gross managed to cite just one person to criticize Palin on the record. Colleen Cottle, who served on the Wasilla City Council when Palin was mayor, complained that she “had no attention span” and “does not understand math or accounting.” Heavy-hitting stuff, that. None of the others Gross apparently interviewed were named, he said, “because they are loyal and want to protect her (a small and shrinking number), or because they expect her prominence to grow and intend to keep their options open, or because they fear she will exact revenge, as she has been known to do.” But given the tone of Gross’s attacks, it’s no wonder those who are close to Palin – including her parents, whom Gross apparently ambushed during a Fourth of July parade in Wasilla – refuse to speak to reporters. Gross described the “surreal world Palin now inhabits – a place of fear, anger, and illusion, which has swallowed up the engaging, small-town hockey mom and her family – and the sadness she has left in her wake.” “Anywhere you peel back the skin of Sarah Palin’s life, a sad and moldering strangeness lies beneath,” Gross said. Among his ground-breaking revelations about Palin: She has a well-controlled media presence. (Apparently unlike any other prominent political figure.) Her team didn’t tip bellhops very well in a Kansas hotel, and “another midwestern hotel.” (The “other midwestern hotel” must have asked not to be named, for fear of reprisal from the Palin camp.) Some bloggers have been mean to Palin detractors. Gross later admitted that anti-Palin bloggers are also prone to “juvenile outbursts.” Palin uses references to the North Star a lot. Palin uses three BlackBerry smart phones. Early in the campaign she didn’t know who Margaret Thatcher was – a charge Gross credits to no specific or even unidentified source. She thanks people for praying for her and uses “code phrases expressing solidarity with fundamentalist Christians.” She apparently bought some form-shaping Spanx underwear. There are “No Trespassing” signs on her Wasilla property. Gross’s attacks on Palin center on the characterization that she is volatile and vengeful. “[W]hen she feels threatened, she does not hesitate to wield some version of a signature threat, ‘I have the power to ruin you,'” Gross alleged, citing “others who have worked with Palin.” At one point Gross made it seem as though Palin monitored the telephone conversations of acquaintances in Wasilla. “When I ask about Palin, though, a palpable unease creeps in,” he wrote. “Some people clam up. Others whisper invitations to call later – but on this number, not that one, and not before this hour or after that one.” The real concern, he said after acknowledging a vicious press as one reason for discomfort, is “because of a suspicion that bad things will happen to them” if Palin finds out they’ve talked to reporters. The online version of the report also featured a drawing depicting Palin dressed in some sort of Viking gear, riding a white horse past a group of (pro-Palin, it would seem) protestors. The photo caption notes Palin’s “erratic behavior and a pattern of lying.” The article fits right in with previous coverage of Palin. A 2008  study by the Culture and Media Institute  found two basic media characterizations of Palin: a dunce whose intellectual shortcomings damaged her credibility and that of the GOP, or a demon whose short-fuse and attack-dog style were unbecoming of a woman who portrayed herself a wholesome, all-American gal.

True cost of war much more than a staggering trillion dollars

The cost of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan has surpassed one trillion dollars, according to the Congressional Budget Office. While this figure is staggering, a Libertarian presidential hopeful said that the real cost of these conflicts to our economy and our liberty is even more staggering. “One trillion dollars is an almost incomprehensible number, but what is even more incomprehensible is the fact that most of that cost is borrowed money,” said R. Lee Wrights, former Libertarian Party national vice chair and the editor and co-founder of Liberty for All, an online free speech magazine. “The federal government borrows about 43 cents of every dollar it spends, and then uses it to build schools, roads and hospitals in countries where we're partly responsible for destroying that infrastructure,” he said. “That's not only insane, it's immoral.” Wrights said that he is considering seeking the presidential nomination because he believes the Libertarian message in 2012 should be a loud and unequivocal call to stop all war. Wrights, 52, was born in Winston-Salem and lived in North Carolina most of his life. He now lives and works in Texas. “The Libertarian Party faces a critical test in 2012 and I want to make sure that we're up to the challenge,” Wrights said. “The Libertarian message in 2012 must be loud and clear – stop all wars! Stop the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, stop the war on drugs and alternative lifestyles, stop the war on civil liberties.” “When we first invaded Iraq we were told that the 'war would pay for itself' because Iraq had the oil resources,” Wrights said. He noted that Paul Wolfowitz, then assistant secretary of defense, told Congress in March 2003, “There's a lot of money to pay for this. It doesn't have to be U.S. taxpayer money. We are dealing with a country that can really finance its own reconstruction, and relatively soon.” “That hasn't happened. Instead, the federal government has simply printed or borrowed the money to rebuild what's been destroyed,” Wrights said. “Politicians are treating war spending like an open checkbook. As long as they have checks, they keep writing them without bothering to balance the account.” The 2010 military budget is $700 billion. In real terms, defense spending is more today than at any time during the Cold War, the Korean War, or the Vietnam War, according to Doug Bandow of the Cato Institute. “To justify its budget, the Defense Department said it was not enough to have a military capable of deterring or responding to aggression,” Wrights said. “Incredibly, defense officials actually claimed it was ‘vital’ the United States be ‘a force for good by engaging with and helping positively to shape the world.’” “Our founder's would be appalled,” Wrights said. “They predicted that war would be the most dreaded threat to our liberties. They told us that from war would proceed mean debt, taxes, fraud and degeneracy of morals. They warned us that no nation could preserve its freedom in the midst of continual warfare.” Wrights has pledged that 10 percent of all donations to his campaign will be spent for ballot access so that the stop all war message can be heard in all 50 states. http://www.examiner.com/libertarian-in-raleigh/true-cost-of-war-much-more-than-a… added by: shanklinmike
