Alicia Keys covers Glamour magazine’s October 2011 issue alongside Jennifer Aniston and Demi Moore. The three ladies teamed up to help launch Five , a series of short films about women and breast cancer that will be stitched together in a two-hour block on Lifetime in October. Each of the cover girls directed a film. Alicia directed Lili , a film about a fiercely independent 35-year-old whose breast cancer forces her to work through her relationship with her mother. How did you get involved with Five ? Kristin [Hahn] and Jen called me up; after I read the scripts, I felt like this was something important, and I wanted to be a part of it. I chose Lili because she’s close to my age and I understood the family dynamic. I had an immediate idea of what I could bring to it. People very close to me in my family have had [breast cancer], and it’s scary and it’s hard. Which one of your songs would you sit and listen to on the radio: “Fallin’,” “Empire State of Mind,” “If I Ain’t Got You” or “Unbreakable”? I mean, I don’t want to sound crazy, but I’d listen to all of them all the way through. I love them. I love those songs! Your husband, Swizz Beatz, has said that your relationship is “a blessing.” Do you feel that way too? Yes. It’s beautiful because rarely, I think, do you find a relationship where you can experience things equally. In fact, I think that’s my favorite word and the most important word when it comes to relationships: equality. And that’s what we’ve been able to find. We encourage each other equally. We’re excited for each other. Do you remember the moment when you fell in love? I do remember the exact moment. If I told you, I would have to kill you, but it was something that he planned, and he planned it so beautifully and thoughtfully that in that moment I remember thinking to myself, Oh my God, I’m so in love with him. What makes you giddy? I bet I can guess, and he’s just about a year old…. Yeah, my son, Egypt, makes me super giddy, especially when he laughs. His laugh makes me laugh like a maniac! Do you ever think about the kind of man you want Egypt to be? I do think about it a lot. He’s going to be a man in this world. It’s a beautiful blessing that I get to help raise a man. And I want to show him as much as possible. So what do you hope for your family? We’re such a bonded happy family, and I hope that we’ll always be able to be that. For me, the most important thing is that we always take the time to understand each other and grow together. We’re all going to change. Otherwise, it’s boring. GLAAD isn’t too happy with Tyler The Creator and Odd Future. Tyler The Creator and Odd Future’s second album contains over 200 anti-gay slurs. The organization is not feeling Tyler’s lyrical content on his latest album Goblin either. GLAAD released a statement regarding his appearance on MTV’s Video Music Awards and his win for Best New Artist. “Rather than providing simply a larger platform, MTV and other networks should educate viewers about why anti-gay and misogynistic language has no place in the music industry today,” said Herndon Graddick, Senior Director of Programs at GLAAD. “Given Tyler’s history of such remarks, viewers and potential sponsors should refrain from honoring homophobia and in the future look to a more deserving artist.” Tyler has not responded to GLAAD’s statement. While their songs continue to grow more and more popular, a number of artists in Atlanta are accused of owing thousands of dollars in unpaid fees for some of their biggest hits. According to CBS Atlanta , recording engineer Tony Terrebonne has confirmed that producer Polow Da Don owes more than $20,000 in unpaid studio services and attorneys fees. Terrebonne said $8,000 of that is for his work on the Chris Brown hit “Forever” and he’s owed an additional $480 for Usher’s “Love In The Club.” According to Terrebone this isn’t his first issue with the Zone 4 head, who previously owed him $50,000 causing him to move in with his parents and sell his car to make up for the loss. In addition to Da Don, Young Jeezy and Producer Jazze Pha are also reportedly guilty of not making payments. Since CBS published their story, Butler received $20,000 from Young Jeezy’s YJ Entertainment and Zumpano received about $2,000 from TSG Financial Management who represents Jazze Pha.
