To say that Lea Michele has been waiting to meet Barbra Streisand for a long time is a bit of an understatement. When Movieline caught up with the Glee star last summer to play My Favorite Scene , all she could talk about was Babs’ star-making turn in Funny Girl . “I just related to that movie so much,” she said. “It’s my favorite movie ever.” As anyone who saw her performance at the Tonys — or any minute of Glee , in general — can attest, she wasn’t lying. So, what would happen if Michele ever got the opportunity to meet Streisand out in public? Some hyperventilating and tweeting, of course.

Donning a lime green halter gown with pink shoes, the jazz chanteuse took the stage and graciously accepted her prize, after passing Drake on the way. “I know I don’t have a lot of time, so first, thank you to the academy for even nominating me in this category,” she said. “Thank you to the incredible community and family of musicians I’m so blessed to be a part of… my friends in Portland, all my teachers, colleagues… my beautiful family who’s here,” she continued, before naming names. The smiling award-winner stated that she had every intention of using this opportunity to continue making music that she felt her friends, fans and family would be proud of. “I take this honor to heart so sincerely, and I’ll do my damndest to make a whole lot of great music for all of you,” she gushed. “It’s such a blessing and an honor. God bless. Thank you.” While most thought the Best New Artist would be landing in the hands of Drake, Bieber or Florence, Spalding came out from behind thanks to a strong following in the jazz community. In 2010 she released several albums including Reencontro and Chamber Music Society, and she also joined Prince for select dates on his Welcome 2 America Tour. ‘Eagle’ Star Jamie Bell Talks Channing Tatum, Horseplay

By Kara Warner Jamie Bell Photo: MTV News Judging by posters and trailers for the upcoming swords-and-sandals flick “The Eagle” alone, it seems that one of the key factors that led stars Channing Tatum and Jamie Bell to sign up for the Roman warrior action adventure was the opportunity to play: from swinging swords to riding horses. However, when MTV News spoke to Bell as he promoted “The Eagle,” the actor revealed that there was actually a lot of work behind all that horseplay (pun intended!). “It was a very kind of challenging approach to a film,” Bell said about learning to ride a horse and speak in a new language for his role as Briton slave Esca before production began. “There was a lot to be done before we even got to set. So, in that regard, all of the prep was actually the hardest thing,” he explained. Bell added that although horseback riding was the most difficult, he grew to love his furry companion. “I was actually really sad to see the horse go, to be honest,” Bell admitted. “I had the fastest horse as well, I want to point that out.” He went on to say that he discovered his steed’s speed on one of the very few occasions that he and Tatum were allowed to gallop with their horses. “At one occasion they were like, ‘All right guys, you can go full pedal to the metal. It’s flat ground. It’s really good for the horses. You’ll be fine; have at it.’ It was no contest,” Bell bragged. “I was just whoooshh! I was gone. Channing’s horse was having a bit of trouble,” he said with a smile. Howard Stern Defends Kim Kardashian Against "Scumbag" Prince

Howard Stern loves women with large breasts and little personality, so it should come as no surprise that he’s coming to the defense of Kim Kardashian. Earlier this week, the reality star was called on stage by Prince during a concert at Madison Square Garden. She proceeded to freeze , stand around like a mannequin and get dismissed from the spotlight. But Stern, a fan of Prince as an artist, blames the musician for this embarrassing incident. Kim Kardashian Freezes at Prince Concert “Apparently she’s supposed to dance like a stripper for him and she just stood there not knowing what to do,” Stern said on his radio show yesterday. “He throws her off the stage because she can’t read f–king Prince’s mind. He’s a bulls–t artist. I’m done with him.” Concluding by labeling Prince as a “scumbag,” Stern said “he seems to be an arrogant asshole lately.” That may be true, but let’s remember: Courteney Cox has a career because Bruce Springstein summoned her to the stage during a performance of “Dancing in the Dark.” Kim could have shown the world a spontaneous, fun-loving side if she had responded in similar fashion to this sitcom star. Instead, treating the opportunity like a professional athlete, she blew it.

Well, this year she’s back and ready to once again set the Grammys on fire. The ” Jersey Shore ” star is set to return as one of MTV News’ Grammy red-carpet correspondents, getting all the dish from some of the world’s biggest names in music. And for the first time, she and co-host Sway will anchor “Snooki & Sway: Live From the Grammys” from the event. The show will be live-streamed on MTV.com for two hours (6-8 p.m. ET), with the pair talking to all the night’s big attendees, presenters and performers. So, who does Snooki want to meet this year? “I’m very excited to see Bruno Mars,” she told MTV News. “Lady Gaga, Drake, Nicki Minaj, like all the top artists are my favorite, so hopefully I’ll get to interview all of them.” With some experience under her belt, Snooki plans to use the skills she’s acquired since last year to step up her interviewing game. “I did do the interviews with the Grammys last year, and I really had no idea what was going on,” she admitted. “This was all new to me. So now, being in it for a year, I know what to expect. And I’m gonna study a little more [about] what people are up for and who they are. I’m not gonna be like, ‘Yo, Kings of Leon, who are you?’ That’s what I did last year! Weezy’s visual will debut Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com, followed by an exclusive live Q&A on “MTV First: Lil Wayne.” By Mawuse Ziegbe Lil Wayne and Sway Photo: MTV News Lil Wayne’s hush-hush visual “6 Foot 7 Foot” has been dubbed a “game-changer” by insiders, and this week Weezy’s legions of fans will finally get a chance to check it out. On Thursday at 8 p.m. ET MTV and MTV.com will air “MTV First: Lil Wayne,” a video-premiere event during which fans can see out the debut of the “6 Foot 7 Foot” clip, as well as go behind-the-scenes of the Hype Williams-directed visual, which was shot in Miami and features upstart lyricist Cory Gunz, who will be featured in the upcoming MTV docu-series “Son of a Gun.” Immediately following the premiere, Wayne will also sit down with MTV News’ Sway for his first live interview since he was released from prison last year. Wayne fans will also have the opportunity to interact with Weezy by submitting questions either in advance or during the live event via MTV.com, Facebook or Twitter by adding the hashtag #askweezy. Wayne supporters have been waiting for a spankin’ new visual from the I Am Not a Human Being lyricist ever since the MC finished his months-long 2010 prison stay in November.
