“Someone has to do something for Guatemala. The government doesn’t do anything,” says a Guatemalan resident Reason.tv calls “Miguel.” In the past few years, the drug war has resulted in more than 40,000 deaths in Mexico and the situation in Guatemala is just as bleak. Last year alone, 5,000 people died in drug-war-related incidents. Corrupt police do little to protect Guatemalans, and Guatemala’s corrupt… Broadcasting platform : YouTube Source : Reason Magazine – Hit & Run Discovery Date : 24/10/2011 20:26 Number of articles : 2
‘I’m trying to create a new sound,’ Bieber tells MTV News about follow-up to My World 2.0 , due ‘early next year.’ By James Montgomery Justin Bieber Photo: MTV News It seems sort of odd to talk about Justin Bieber ‘s next album, given that his new album — the holiday-riffic Under the Mistletoe — doesn’t hit stores until November 1. But, when MTV News caught up with Bieber this past weekend in Santiago, Chile — where he was wrapping up his two-year My World Tour in record-setting fashion — he was more than ready to start discussing the follow-up to his massive My World 2.0 album, mostly because he’s been hard at work on it for a while now, and the finish line is definitely in sight. “What’s happening is: get off this tour, and then my [holiday] album’s coming out, so I have to go back out and promote that album … and then after that … it’s almost time for my next album, so then everything starts over again,” Bieber told us. “We’ve already started [working on it], but we’re going to be going in every day and working with new people and trying to find the best sound, because I’m going to be recording different styles, different things until I find a solid 15 songs that I love. … I’m going to be recording as many songs as I possibly can.” As for the release date for the new album, Bieber doesn’t know specifics just yet, but he promised it’ll be out “soon … early next year.” For fans seeking a sneak peek at the next step in his musical evolution, they’ve only got to check out his recent remix of Drake’s “Trust Issues.” “I loved the song; I thought it was a dope song. I actually cover it in my concert,” he said. “I’m going to mature; I’m going to evolve. I don’t feel like I’m going to do it too fast or too slow: I’m going to do it at the pace that I feel comfortable doing it.” Of course, that’s just one direction he’s hoping to head in. Because, first and foremost, Bieber said that on his next album, he’s looking to create something entirely new, while still maintaining a connection to his past. “I’m trying to create a new sound that people aren’t really used to hearing, so it might sound weird at first, but it’s going to be like when Justin Timberlake did FutureSex/LoveSounds : It was a new sound … acoustic guitar over hard drums,” he explained. “I want to find something that’s going to suit me and my fans are going to love and older people will like and younger people will like. But I’m always trying to keep my core fanbase, because the young people are what make everything cool. Old people look to young people, so trying to keep everyone happy.” What are you expecting from Justin Bieber’s next album? Tell us below! Related Videos MTV First: Justin Bieber
At least she’s honest about it. On The Ellen DeGeneres Show Thursday, LeAnn Rimes spoke about the controversy she generated when she began her infamous affair with Eddie Cibrian. “It could’ve been handled a lot better,” she says of her conduct. “Maybe we both didn’t have the tools at the time to do it properly,” she says. “But I’ve learned a lot. Sometimes you just want to scream. But you don’t.” “We’ve learned to let it go and laugh at it at the end of the day.” They did get married in the end, so … there’s that. The two were, of course, married to other people when they began dating – Rimes to Dean Sheremet and Cibrian to Brandi Glanville . But the past is the past. LeAnn Rimes’ weight also came up on the broadcast, with the singer calling fans’ criticism of her slender frame disrespectful and likening it to bullying.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey made their way to the Dominican Republic’s Punta Cana this week with one question on their minds. Can’t we all just get along? What are the odds of that? Let’s find out in our +/- recap! Have you ever noticed how incredibly blinged out Teresa’s phone is? Plus 5 because I don’t think you could fit one more sparkle, sequin, or rhinestone and still be able to speak. But the trip really starts off with the packing. Seriously, they’re going away for four days and Teresa has nine bags. And I’ve never seen so much leopard print luggage in my life. Apparently it’s a hot item in Jersey. Plus 8 to Lauren who points out that if sharks are attracted to shiny objects, Teresa and Melissa are shark bait. That could put a quick end to this vacation. There were so many things that made me ill in this episode it’s hard to count them all … but here goes. Did Joe Guidice, Richie, Albie, and Chris really have to jump out of the vehicles to pee on the side of the road? As if TV doesn’t make Jersey look trashy enough, these idiots have to prove it to the Dominican Republic. Minus 10 . Apparently they needed their Mommies to ask them if they had to go before they left the airport. Which was worse? Watching Joe Gorga sniff Melissa’s bikini bottoms or listening to Joe Guidice complain about how his wife’s menstrual cycle was going to ruin vacation sex? Minus 20 because I almost turned off the TV. Then we got to watch Teresa have her own little bikini fashion show. Talk about needing to be the center of attention.

Check out a glimpse of the script ahead.

Bring the past only if you are going to build from it. ~Doménico Cieri Estrada It’s so easy to look back on the mistakes we’ve made and feel discouraged. However, if your past inspires feelings of sadness or guilt, you need to let it go. Its okay to reference the past but only if you are going to build from it.

Attention since ‘Drop a Body’ video ‘is crazy,’ Joe tells MTV News. By Steven Roberts Fat Joe Photo: MTV News Fat Joe ‘s video for “Drop a Body” was filled with volcanic eruptions, lightning and a mountain of dead bodies, but when the video dropped in June, Joe’s appearance overshadowed all of that. A considerably slimmer Joe stood atop said mountain, raising eyebrows and the clip’s number YouTube views. Joe said he was just as shocked by people’s reactions to his weight loss, because he was just trying to save his life. “I’m not trying to impress nobody or nothing like that,” Joe told MTV News. “I’m just trying to get healthy so I can be here for my family and take care of my kids and live the life that was intended for me to live, so it was crazy when I started getting all this attention. Two weeks from now, CNN is coming to my house, Sanjay Gupta, a big special, and all this attention is crazy.” Joe said he was 360 pounds when he started losing weight, and after finding himself at much-more-manageable 260 pounds a year later, he still wasn’t satisfied. Initially, he wanted to lose weight because in the past year, several of his friends have lost their lives due to their weight. Joe recalled attending one of his friends’ funerals and seeing himself in that position. He knew then it was time to make a change. “I went to my friend’s funeral in the Bronx, and he was just the funniest, coolest dude on earth,” Joe recalled. “He’s got a daughter, she’s the same age as my daughter, and it just felt like I was there, and I could just see my family in the funeral and I was like, ‘Damn, he left his daughter, and she’s only 5,’ ” he explained. “That was the wake-up call. Then I just jumped on that treadmill and started eating right. It’s not rocket science: It’s the same thing they keep telling you to do, you actually just have to do it.” Joe said he always asked God why he continued to bless him, despite his past and him not being a perfect person. And then he realized his weight-loss battle might be his calling. He hopes that he can inspire others to do the same. “One of my boys lives in Detroit, he said he came out his building, he got two dudes that been the fattest dudes on the block forever, they have weights outside and was running around the block, and he was like, ‘Yo, what’s up?’ and they were like, ‘We on that Fat Joe wave!’ ” Related Artists Fat Joe
