According to People Paula Deen’s racial slur scandal is costing her an endorsement deal with Smithfield, the pork company that sold a ham with her name and face on it. “Smithfield condemns the use of offensive and discriminatory language and behavior of any kind,” Smithfield says in a statement. “Therefore, we are terminating our partnership with Paula Deen. Smithfield is determined to be an ethical food industry leader and it is important that our values and those of our spokespeople are properly aligned.” Deen’s deal with Smithfield was announced in September 2006. This is the latest blow to Deen, who was dropped from the Food Network on Friday after 11 years as one of the channel’s biggest stars. The business deals are falling under scrutiny following the uproar over her admitted use of the N-word in the past. Deen made the admission during a sworn deposition in connection with a discrimination lawsuit brought by a former employee who says she was in a hostile work environment filled with innuendo and racial slurs. Deen has apologized for the remarks. “Smithfield was a key deal for her empire,” Allen Salkin, author of the upcoming book From Scratch: Inside the Food Network, tells PEOPLE. “In addition to paying her handsomely as an endorser, the ham company helped her charitable image by delivering truckloads of meat to food banks in her name.” Deen was hit in the head by a Smithfield ham at one of those charity events in 2009. Paula needs to fire her publicity team asap. That video was sad.

In the aftermath of the n-word scandal that got Paula Deen fired by Food Network , the embattled chef wants to clear the air once and for all. She offered a second video apology for using racial slurs in the past, and issued a statement thanking the channel for 11 “great years” on TV. Paula Deen Apologizes Again Said Paula Deen in her statement released to CNN: “I have had the pleasure of being allowed into so many homes across the country and meeting people who have shared the most touching and personal stories.” “This would not have been possible without the Food Network.” “Thank you again. Love and best dishes to all of ya’ll.” The mea culpa was too little too late for the network, which announced that Deen would not be returning following a bizarre video statement Friday afternoon. This morning, Deen’s hour of programming was already yanked from the channel. Deen came under fire after admitting last month under oath in a lawsuit deposition to using racial slurs , including the n-word, in the past. After bailing last minute from a scheduled appearance on Today to address the scandal, Deen released a video “apology” on YouTube. That video (below) was so poorly received that only made the situation first. She then posted a second (above), but the damage was done. But that is no excuse.” Sources say the fallout from the discrimination lawsuit filed against her, along with her management’s clumsy damage control, left Food Network no choice. The first apology video – in which she appears to be reading from a script and stumbling over vague, non-compelling words – was the final straw.

Days after it was revealed that Paula Deen admitted using racial slurs in the past, the cook canceled a live TV interview with Today at the last minute. She had been scheduled to discuss her recent admission under oath in a deposition for a discrimination lawsuit that she has in fact used racial epithets. But, according to Matt Lauer, Deen’s rep contacted the show moments before she was set to appear live and told producers that she’s not showing. Paula Deen is “exhausted” after flying into New York overnight, her rep said. “We had planned to have an exclusive live interview with Paula Deen this morning,” a disappointed Lauer announced on the air Friday. “We spoke several times with her people yesterday and then I spoke with Paula yesterday afternoon. We arranged an interview this morning.” “We agreed there would be no restrictions to that interview only that it would be an open and candid exchange. Then we started to hear from her people that she is exhausted.” “She has not called us at all,” Lauer continued. “Her publicity person and I spoke a little while ago. Simply said they believe she is in the hotel but she has not confirmed anything other than she is not here.” As for Deen, she has not commented, but a source tells People that she “is beside herself … this is killing her. She’s so beaten down by this.” Although she hasn’t apologized for anything, Paula Deen Enterprises released a statement on Thursday explaining Deen’s use of racial slurs: “During a deposition where she [was under oath], Ms. Deen recounted having used racial epithets in the past, speaking largely about a time in American history which was quite different than today.” “To be clear Ms. Deen does not find acceptable the use of this term under any circumstance by anyone nor condone any form of racism or discrimination.” So basically, she’s old? The whole cast is bothered by it.” “There have even been times when he sits in the car for approximately an hour outside of the studio making everyone wait, just because he can.” Blair was upset and so were other people on the show, but, the source insists, she did NOT complain to execs or anyone associated with the show. “You don’t talk behind someone’s back when you work with them. With Charlie if you have an issue, you go directly to him,” the source said. Blair, however, complained about the star to a close friend and divulged details of his behavior, which got back to him, and Charlie Sheen was enraged . “Charlie was furious when it got back to him,” the source said. “It didn’t happen all at once.
