Now I’m really pissed that my invite got lost in the mail. Don’t the people who organize this event know that I’m Forbes “ Sexiest Most Awesome Man On The Web ” and that they should be using FEDEX and not standard mail when trying to contact me? It’s a 60-day course that tells gay people they are not “born this way” and offers to help them find “freedom from the bondage of homosexuality.” These so-called treatments can cause terrible harm to lesbian, gay, bi, and trans people, or anyone forced to try to change who they are or who they love. Woman Sues United Airlines for Allowing Passenger to Masturbate on Flight

A young woman named Monica Amestoy has filed a lawsuit against United Airlines in which she alleges that a male passenger was permitted to masturbate right in front of her on a flight last year. The incident took place when the now-18-year old was flying back to Los Angeles from a high school debate in New York. During a press conference last night, Amestoy explained that the guy was sitting across from her when he pulled out his unit and that flight attendants – alerted to the self-pleasuring situation – did nothing to stop it. The unidentified passenger has been arrested and convicted of the crime, and has also since been registered as a sex offender. But Amestoy (who is represented by Gloria Allred ) is seeking unspecified damages for negligence, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

Philip Seymour Hoffman Departs Detox Center, Admits to Heroin Use

After entering in silence, Philip Seymour Hoffman recently checked out of a treatment facility and admitted that he spent about a year battling a major drug problem. The Oscar winner tells TMZ he fell of the wagon with prescription pills and eventually started doing heroin. But the star – who battled substance abuse in the past, yet had been clean for over two decades – recognized the escalating issue and checked himself into a detox center on the East Coast. He was there for 10 days, left on Friday and is already back to working on a film in Europe Hoffman credits “a great group of friends and family” for helping him seek assistance and will next be seen in Catching Fire . We wish him the best of luck wit his recovery.

In honor of Memorial Day, Chopped paid homage to the man and women of our armed last night. Four former military chefs competed on The Food Network hit, inspiring us with both their creativity and their dedication to our freedom. They were tasked with creating an appetizer (using mint yogurt soda), an entree (using Afghan flatbread) and a dessert (using pomegranate) within the designated time frames, with one contestant being voted off after each round.
