Who’s REALLY the biggest boss that we’ve seen thus far??? Suge Knight Threatens To Fight Rick Ross Yesterday , Suge Knight gave the media some entertaining fodder to run with in the form of accusations during a radio interview that Tupac Shakur is not really dead. *Sigh*. Today, we get even MORE attention-sloring quotes from the Death Row boss that he wants to lay hands on Officer Ricky Rozay for invoking the name of Tupac while also maintaining alliances with Diddy, who he claims killed ‘Pac. Peep what the Sugary one had to say about Mr. Ross: “I can’t sit up here and say I’m bitter to Rick Ross, ‘cus like anybody else, we don’t know Rick Ross,” Suge said. “That’s a guy who uses somebody else’s name. This guy comes from being a correctional officer. I don’t got nothing negative [against him] personally, I just feel like he do do good music, and you can’t take that from him. That boy got bars, he’s gonna write…at the same time, I feel like there’s a line you cross, and Rick Ross crossed that line. If you’re gonna be with guy [Diddy] who killed Tupac, you can’t go turn around and do a record [called] ‘Tupac Back’…Rick Ross is a grown a$$ *****. I’ll beat the dog sh** out of Rick Ross for manipulating these people out here.” Should be interesting to see how this plays out in the future. Do you think Suge is really about that life? Considering his street record of getting knocked the f**k out so often, we’d have to see it to believe it. Images via WENN More On Bossip! She shoots… She spins… But does she score? Shaunie O’Neal Releases Statement Regarding Negative Depictions Of Black Women On “Basketball Wives” With the African-American community chomping at the bit over the negative depictions (fighting, lawsuits , mockery of monogamy) of Black women on “Basketball Wives” Shaunie O’Neal just had to say something… Via VIBE : As the executive producer of the controversial reality show Basketball Wives, Shaunie O’Neal released an exclusive statement on some of the unladylike behavior that has consumed recent episodes. Since the drama on the popular VH1 show has reached new levels (Jennifer Williams is suing Nia Crooks, Evelyn Lozada’s assistant, for assault), the BBW head expressed her personal thoughts on the matter. “I’m extremely happy that Basketball Wives continues to have another successful fourth season. As the ratings have been through the roof since our season opener, fans continue to tune into the lives of Evelyn, Tami, Jennifer, Royce, Suzie and myself. As there is always controversy and indifference projected on the show, because we are all individual personalities, I always hope that people will find that as much as you may agree or disagree with the opinions, the behavior, [and] even our different taste in shoes, you are taking a look inside the lives of four complete different women. I will never say I agree with some of the behavior between my girlfriends on the show, but if we were to edit certain things out the show would be scripted and not reality. As a woman of color with kids, I am very aware of myself, but I also have to be aware that my choices cannot be the same for everyone on the show and I have to respect that. I hope the fans feel they see a balance and know we have always been real with our stories, even though it may not always be a positive portrayal of adult women but real women nonetheless. I look forward to developing other media platforms in the future and hope that fans will continue to support.” Unlike some of her friends and cast mates, she chooses not to eclipse her good character by becoming physically violent. O’Neal wants to maintain her role as an example to young women, especially as she is a mother and businesswoman. She continuously gives back to the community and was, most recently, spotted lending a hand at the Los Angeles Mission for their annual Easter day festivities. *cough* Bullisht!*cough* There Shaunie goes again talking about balance. We peeped her lil attempt to show her Mom of the Year behavior a couple episodes back with Mimi’s birthday party but other than that it’s been a bunch of cussing and slapping and wine bottle throwing. Shaunie, let’s keep it real boo boo (in our Evelyn voice) bird’s of a feather flock together. Y’all can’t be that different. More On Bossip! Having had the chance to work with one of his heroes, Paul Newman (in 1989’s Fat Man and Little Boy ), John Cusack turned to a Newman classic for a round of Movieline’s My Favorite Scene . “There’s a scene of Paul Newman in The Verdict that I would use as the best example of economy and what a close-up is supposed to mean,” Cusack explained during our chat for The Raven . “It’s the example where the film does what no other art form can do – a book can’t do it, and theater can’t do it, it’s only for film, and it’s the best example of it.” Pay attention, kids – Professor Cusack’s Film Language 101 is in session. Really, a Cusack class in film history wouldn’t be so farfetched; In addition to acting, writing, producing, and Tweeting , Cusack’s also a keen student of cinema – so much so, he jokes, he could teach a class (“On other people’s films,” he adds). When put to the Movieline challenge, he didn’t hesitate to draw upon one of the best scenes in Sidney Lumet ’s 1982 courtroom classic. “It’s Sidney Lumet and Paul Newman and David Mamet at their finest,” he began. “Paul Newman plays this ambulance-chasing lawyer whose client has been turned into a vegetable, and the hospital is trying to settle out of court because they’re protecting the doctors from a malpractice suit. It’s a big ethical dilemma. He goes to take a picture of his client, this woman who he hasn’t seen, and she’s on a life support machine – she’s been turned into a vegetable.” “You hear the breathing and breathing, and he takes the pictures,” he continued, “and then, as they develop, he has a moment of conscience. He sits down and he looks at the pictures and he looks at her, and you can see his entire life – all the compromises he’s made, all the short-cuts, all the lies – come crashing down on him.” “It’s still a wide shot, and from the back a nurse comes in and says, ‘Sir, you can’t be in here.’ And then you cut in close on Paul Newman and Paul Newman says three words: He says ‘I’m her attorney.’ And in those three words, what washes over his face tells the entire story, and it tells as much as a novel could ever tell.” Watch the scene below at the 6:40 mark. “If I was to teach what film can be, and what a close-up is supposed to be, and what great acting, directing, and writing is supposed to be, I would use that scene,” Cusack said. “It all comes together and it’s probably the best close-up that I’ve ever seen. I think it’s Newman’s finest hour – one of his many masterful pieces of acting.” Couldn’t agree more. Flashback: The Verdict was indeed nominated for five Oscars, including Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor (James Mason), and Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Picture, but was eclipsed that year by a Gandhi near-sweep. The Raven , meanwhile, hits theaters next Friday, April 27 — stay tuned for Movieline’s full interview with Cusack. Read more My Favorite Scenes. Follow Jen Yamato on Twitter . This is so sad. Bhoja Air Flight Crashes In Pakistan, All 127 Passengers Feared Dead A Pakistani passenger jet with 127 people on board crashed into wheat fields Friday as it was trying to land in a thunder storm at an airport near the capital Islamabad. Sobbing relatives of those on the flight flocked to the airport, and officials said there appeared to be no survivors. Emergency workers used flashlights to search among the smoldering wreckage of the fuselage, smashed seats and body parts for any sign of life at the crash site, which was just a few kilometers (miles) from the Benazir Bhutto International Airport. One rescue official asked villagers to bring him sheets to cover the dead. The aircraft was a Boeing 737-200 operated by Bhoja Air, a domestic carrier that has just four planes and only resumed operations last month after suspending them in 2001 due to financial difficulties. The flight was traveling from the country’s largest city of Karachi to the Pakistani capital, officials said. It was the airline’s first evening flight from Karachi, according to a Bhoja Air official. “I saw nothing but body parts and twisted metal on the ground when reached the scene,” said local resident Mustafa, who only gave one name. “We collected up small pieces of human flesh and bundled them in cloth sheets like we collect grain.” Islamabad police chief Bani Yameen said that nobody on the ground appeared to be killed, “but apparently all onboard perished.” Civil aviation officials also reported survivors were unlikely, said Defense Minister Chaudhry Ahmed Mukhtar. A violent rain, wind and thunder storm was lashing the capital at the time of the crash, which occurred about 6:40 p.m. local time. “It was really bad weather for a flight,” said Navy captain Arshad Mahmood, who lives near the crash site. “The pilot was forced to move down to avoid clouds that were generating the lightening and thunder.” Bhoja Air started domestic operations in Pakistan in 1993 and eventually expanded to international flights to the United Arab Emirates in 1998. The company suspended operations in 2001 due to financial difficulties but resumed them in 2012. In a statement, the Boeing Co. extended its condolences to the families of the victims and offered technical assistance to Pakistan’s Civil Aviation Authority. The skies sure ain’t always friendly. R.I.P. to all the passengers aboard. Our hearts go out to their loved ones. Source AFP PHOTO/AAMIR QURESHI/GettyImages More On Bossip! Director Len Wiseman tells MTV News about Kate Beckinsale going bad and Bryan Cranston’s complex villain. By Kara Warner Colin Farrell in “Total Recall” Photo: Sony Pictures We still have a while to wait for the August 3 release of the new “Total Recall,” but now that we’ve seen and obsessed over the official full-length trailer , we have a better idea of what to expect from Len Wiseman’s re-telling of the classic Philip K. Dick story, as well as how it compares to the 1990 cult favorite starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and directed by Paul Verhoeven. In addition to providing MTV News with his expert commentary about the well-received trailer , Wiseman also gave us some in-depth insight into how he’s handled the precedents and expectations set by Verhoeven’s film, how closely the 2012 film sticks to Dick’s original story, as well as what fans can appreciate and expect from stars Colin Farrell and a villainous Kate Beckinsale . MTV : How much fun has incorporating all the new technology been? Wiseman : It’s great. And, I will be honest: It’s a blessing and a curse for me, because I’m so of a school of practical effects and practical stunts. And when you develop a movie like this, which is an entire world you’re creating, you can only build so much, and then you go into your effects world. And actually, there’s a lot of practical elements in here that people assume are CG, because CG is used so often. In the trailer, we did this really complicated shot of Colin doing a fight sequence shootout. The camera is spinning around, it’s 100 percent practical. And it’s funny when I really kicked the “how much time and how expensive” nightmare kind of math in to figure that all out and everything to put in, and what surprised me is a lot of people think that is CG. I think because you maybe don’t immediately process how that’s being done. But it’s funny, because I look at that and go, “That’s actually the shot that’s entirely 100 percent practical.” So I really do find it a blessing and a curse, because I started as a prop guy. I actually started building models initially and then went into the prop department, and I’m so much of a practical mind. But then you get into a point where, “OK, now we have to build a world that is 100 and some odd years in the future.” And your construction budget, that’s a surprise. MTV : How will fans be impressed by Colin’s performance? Wiseman : I think they’re absolutely going to love him. It’s a very different take on the character. It’s much more of the internal struggle that he’s faced with, and he did such a great job with this mystery of his own soul, really. It’s such a mystery, this film. It’s got the action and sci-fi, everything hovering on the perimeter of what makes it feel like a big action film. But in its core, it’s a mystery, and it’s a mystery of himself. And I just think people will be really captivated by following his journey. He really does allow you to be him. So I really think they’ll be excited by him. MTV : What about seeing Kate Beckinsale playing a villain? Wiseman : It’s fun for us as well. She’s never done anything like that. So to be able to have some fun with playing a villain — and she had fun doing it too, because she’s always like, “You have to be so earnest when you’re saving the world. Wow, you can actually just loosen up and just, the bad guys have more fun.” I would love to get, I’ll probably put this out on the DVD, but these girls are just kicking each other’s asses and really brutal. We wanted to attack it. It was just a really vicious brawl, and in between the cuts, they both get so girly. Right on “cut.” There’s plenty of times when Kate actually just nicked Jessica [Biel]’s nose or same thing with Jessica, and they immediately just go from these vicious badass lethal killers to immediately very apologetic and very polite and girly. It’s great to see. MTV : Will we see Mars? Wiseman : We won’t see Mars. And I got to say, it’s one of the things that attracted me to the script, because I really, I along with a lot of other people, I really loved the Verhoeven film. I was very skeptical on just the reboot, just the idea. And until I read the script, with a lot of speculation going, it takes it in such a different direction from that film. Because it didn’t go to Mars, funny enough, is why I was interested. And it’s also just like I said: It plays a little bit into the threat of what the Philip K. Dick story had of, much more of bringing the threat back, really Doug’s mission to save Earth, not Mars. MTV : What can you tell us about getting Bryan Cranston? Wiseman : He’s got one really fun personality. I think a lot of people, if you’ve seen him in his prior TV show, I’m sure, I happened to be introduced to him through films and then “Breaking Bad” as well. I’ve never seen “Malcolm in the Middle,” and I was taken by how fun and charming and funny the guy is. I probably came late to that game. That’s no surprise to anyone else. He really has a balance of evil and charming, which I really like. He plays off great [with Colin]. I wish they actually had more scenes together. It’s a bit of a weird structure, where the villain is kind of split between Kate and Cranston. So when they’re together, though, it’s great. He’s really got a good balance there, where when there’s a pure tendency that a lot of people have to play just very villainous, he has a little bit more passion for what he’s doing, where you actually believe it is the right thing, rather than twirling your mustache a bit too much. Yo my names Jordan, I’m 18 and I met Bieber on April 12, 2012 . I thought I’d just add something here cause it was a sick experience. I was waiting to get on my flight from LA to Ft. Lauderdale and there were no seats available anywhere, so I decided to just sit in one of the empty seats far from where they scan your ticket to get on the plane. As I’m sitting there all of a sudden Justin Bieber sat down next to me with his mom and security guards and I was like wtf!?! I said, “Yo whatsup Justin, can I get a picture with you?” and he said “Yeah sure come over here.” We all walked over to this hidden type area in the airport so I guess other people wouldn’t see him and he took a picture with me and he was really chill. I talked to Justin’s mom for a couple minutes and she was really nice and I told him good luck with more of his music coming soon. Then all of a sudden I was walking onto my plane and Justin was sitting 8 rows infront of me! I watched him for 5 1/2 hours to Florida tweet fans and sleep most of the flight. It was kinda freaky watching someone so huge only 10 steps from you for 5 1/2 hours. Then once we got off the plane, I was waiting for my friend to pick me up and Bieber was the last one walking out and paparazzi was there and flashing pictures everywhere. I saw him jump into his car and leave. It was a sick experience and one I won’t forget! On April 17, 2012 I went to The Voice because I heard Justin Bieber was going to be there, I had to go! I had general tickets and it looked like we were going to get pretty crappy seats. We’ve been waiting and waiting for like 2 hours to at least get our wristbands. We finally got them and we got a blue one until this guy gave me a black one too. I was so confused because I now had 2 wristbands. He asked me if those 2 girls were my friends and I said yes. He’s said okay because I gave them black wristbands too. I asked what they were for. He told us we would be sitting in the PIT! I was freaking out! My friend Nicole was dying because she is in love with Adam Levine and Justin Bieber too. We waited another good hour and began walking toward the studio. We were waiting in line before going into the studio and Justin and Scooter were driving on a golf cart right by us! All I saw was Scooter because everyone was blocking my way. But that was still exciting for me. Anyways the show goes on, we meet The Wanted, they preformed right in front of us and talked to us. They’re such sweet guys! Then we met Adam Levine, Christina Auguilara, Cee Lo, Blake and then of course Justin Bieber. During comercial breaks I was like, “Adam tell Justin I said whats up” and he was laughing and said “Okay.” The show was so much fun! All I could think about was seeing Justin. I heard Carson Daily say, “and now it’s time to premiere the video,” etc and I hear Justin, I just couldn’t see him yet! My friend was like, “Omg he’s behind, you turn around!” I turned and I saw him standing there. Everyone around me knew I was such a huge fan, I was screaming and couldn’t help but have the biggest smile on my face and tears. He’s grown up and come so far and I’m really proud to say that I’ve been a fan since the very beginning. Then after they were like thanks for coming and he was saying bye to all the judges. I was so sad because I thought he wasn’t going to come close to me. All of a sudden I see him running up the steps and coming straight towards me and the rest of the fans. I was in total shock, I was speechless. All I could do was point to my cheek and he grabbed my hand and went, “Muuuuuaaaaaaaaaahhhhh” and kissed me. My friends were screaming in shock, we were so speechless!! After it was commercial break and the guy who was keeping the crowd going came and asked who did he kiss and I was like me! He was like, “How does it feel to be kissed by Justin Bieber and make everyone jealous” and stuff like that. I felt so happy, I couldn’t help but keep a smile on my face. Then I come home to find out that him kissing me was on TV! I was so happy because some people didn’t believe me. Justin is truly the nicest guy ever and he’ll never forget about his fans and how much you guys have impacted his life. We support him and he shows us his love for us back.
