Dozens Arrested At “Occupy Chicago” Protests…Folks Screaming ‘Take Me Next!’

Anti-Wall Street demonstrators of the Occupy Chicago movement stood their ground in a downtown park in noisy but peaceful defiance of police orders to clear out, prompting at least 100 arrests early Sunday, authorities said. Occupy Chicago spokesman Joshua Kaunert vowed after the arrests that the protesters would be coming back. “We’re not going anywhere. There are still plenty of us,” Kaunert told The Associated Press after police began the wave of arrests that took more than an hour to complete. Police began taking people into custody just before 1 a.m. Sunday, first in a trickle and then. Those arrested were led in groups to vans and two large white buses. “Take me next! Take me next!” some shouted as police began the arrests. Others chanted as they were led off: “We’ll be back!” Officers had begun placing metal barricades around the part of Chicago’s Grant Park known as Congress Plaza about 11:10 p.m. Saturday, minutes after the park had closed. Soon after that, police went through the crowd and warned people to leave or risk arrest for remaining in the closed park in violation of a city ordinance. Several of the protesters who remained inside the barricades in the park sat on the ground in the chilly Chicago night air. Others locked arms and then the arrests began as trickle before picking up speed. “One: We are the people! Two: We are united! Three: The occupation is not leaving!” demonstrators shouted. Others joined in from just outside the park. Police said they made approximately 100 arrests early Sunday but did not have a specific count. Kaunert said he expected the final figure to be higher after late arrests but police did not immediate return later calls seeking comment. Kaunert said those arrested were non-violent. “Everybody was very peaceful and smiling and there was no violence, though a lot of chanting,” he said. He urged authorities to let the people resume protesting peacefully against the perceived corporate greed and other ills they see on Wall Street and elsewhere. He noted it was the second straight weekend that arrests had been made in the park after 175 arrests the previous Sunday after protesters set up tents past public hours. Source

T.I has been opening up about his recent prison stint, new book and sexual rumors we heard  that may have happened while incarcerated. In a recent interview with The Breakfast Club T.I divulges the information and juicy details we were all hoping to hear! On getting into a fight in prison: I did [get into a fight] but not this particular time; it was the first time I went. I guess I had been there about a month or so.  It wasn’t face to face, like total disrespect, that kind of thing. It was just a guy who I was rocking with that said, “Hey man, I had to holla at this dude and I had to straighten these guys out because they were talking about this, that and the other about you.” I said, “What did they say?” Man, he told me what they said and I took it as being disrespectful and so I asked dude “Is that how you feel?” and he was like, “Well, yeah …yada yada.” I said, “Well, I need to see you.” The Alleged “Hand Job:” Let’s just say that they have their rules and their rules say that hands should be visible at all times. If the hand is not visible then they imply or assume that certain activities are taking place. So the activity doesn’t have to be taking place if the hand is hidden. I’m not denying the hand wasn’t visible. I’m not denying that but I am denying that there was a full fledge hand job being accepted or given. I will say this, there was nothing been done right then and there that could not been done in any public place outside of that prison. T.I.: “I Understand Why People Are Critical Of Me” [VIDEO] T.I. Drake Has ‘Good Taste,’ A$AP Rocky Says After Co-Sign

New York MC is ready to take his music worldwide, in Mixtape Daily. By Rob Markman, with reporting by Steven Roberts A$AP Rocky Photo: MTV News A$AP Rocky has been pegged as hip-hop’s next big thing. That phrase might get attached to someone (e.g. Drake, Wiz Khalifa) or some group (see: OFWGKTA) every few months, but A$AP is the first “next big thing” to come out of New York in a while. No offense to French Montana, Fred the Godson or anyone else, but very few up-and-coming New York rappers have garnered as much love on both hip-hop and alternative blogs. And they certainly haven’t been featured in The New York Times — especially with just a handful of songs. When MTV News caught up with A$AP Rocky in New York’s Lower East Side, he said he had his sights focused on bigger things than the Big Apple. “I live here, and New York raised me, New York made me, so at the end of the day, it’s all love for New York. But I appeal to everybody. I want to appeal to people in West Bumblef—, Germany,” A$AP said. “That’s what it’s all about. I can appeal to anybody. Anybody that was raised in poverty, middle class, low middle class, day-to-day regular things, they can relegate to me, because I speak that trill sh–.” A$AP Rocky — born Rakim Mayers — said he started rapping at age 8 but didn’t really start taking it seriously until his late teens/ early 20s. The Harlem MC said, at first, he didn’t know if he was Kanye West, Kid Cudi or what, but once he found himself artistically, other people started to really appreciate his work. He also credited his three main producers — ASAP Ty Beats, SpaceGhostPurpp and Clams Casino — with developing his sound. Ty Beats has produced Rocky’s two most recognizable songs: “Purple Swag,” a sizzurpy ode to Houston hip-hop, and the boastful, melodic “Peso.” Clams Casino rose to fame producing for Lil B the Based God, and Miami’s SpaceGhostPurpp, owner of hip-hop’s best name, is the producer Rocky goes to for his “trill sh–.” “I think my sound is a sound that was inspired by all hip-hop from different regions, cultures [and] times,” he said. “My sound is everything mixed into one. It’s the future. Basically, you don’t have to be limited anymore, and you can sound how you want to sound. That’s natural for us.” “A$AP” is an acronym and almost a surname adopted by Rocky’s crew, and he said it can mean a variety of things, from Always Strive and Prosper to Assassinating Snitches and Police, but Rocky liked Acronym Symbolizing Any Purpose. While most people wait on the release of his debut mixtape, Live. Love. A$AP, on Halloween, he’s already been added to Drake’s Club Paradise Tour. Rocky said he was honored by a co-sign, not only because it was Drake, but because he truly respected the Toronto MC. “He’s in a position to where if he co-signs somebody, it’s valid, and he’s a real lyricist, and he’s got good taste. I mean, look at his music. Therefore, when he comes to listen to people like me and he gets inspired and then wants to take us out on tour, it just shows you he’s a real dude.” Have you checked out A$AP Rocky yet? My name is Jessica, I’m 17 and I’m from Chile . It was August and I became a member of BieberFever to get the best tickets to the Justin concert. I was really  disappointed  because I paid and I didn’t get my ticket from the pre-sale, so I had to wait until the normal sale started. I didn’t sleep that night and I went to the ticket office at 5:00am and finally I got my ticket around 11am, which were VIP and I was really happy! Then in September, a contest from Bieberfever came out. I entered to win the M&G. The day before the concert, I got an email saying that I had won! I was so happy, I cried and jumped, my dream finally was coming true! I went the concert the next day and got my bracelets for the M&G. After that, we went inside the stadium to wait for Justin. We saw Kenny, Kanec, Alfredo, Scooter, Pattie, the guys from Cobra Starship and more! Everyone was so nice! Then, it was the time to meet Justin! I was so nervous. We went in groups of 5. I was the first of my group, so I walked. I looked to the right and there he was. He was sitting. He got up, smiled at me and said, “Hi, how are you?” He had a cute voice and a perfect smile. I answered something, but I don’t even remember what I said, I was too shocked. He hugged and kissed me. Then I sat down and he hugged me again. We took the picture. I said, “Bye” and left. It was the best experience ever and I never knew it will happen TO ME. Then I went inside the concert and enjoyed it from the beggining to the end, it was just perfect. NEVER SAY NEVER!  -@believeinus Read the original: My name is Jessica, I’m 17 and I’m from Chile. It…

One day I was on my computer and entered BieberFever.com….

One day I was on my computer and entered BieberFever.com. Fortunately I saw a contest to win the M&G! I couldn’t believe it, I started to read the bases and I decided to do the video.   On Friday October 7th, my mom and I were at home so we started to work on the video. When we finished, I started to edit the video to 4 a.m!    Then I uploaded it to YouTube and sent it to BieberFever.   The days passed and finally on Tuesday October 11th, BieberFever selected the winning videos. I’ve been waiting for the email all morning but nothing. I checked my phone every second but nothing.  Then I came back from school and went back to BieberFever. I chatted with the others and I asked if anyone won the M&G. One girl told me that BieberFever will send the email at night.   My hopes returned! I was born again haha! I decided to wait and still chatting with them. My mother was calling me because in my country all the TV shows spoke about Justin and I went to watch them.   I came back to my computer and I called my mom to show her something. I was speaking to her when suddenly my phone rang. I thought that it would be a Twitter message, so I didn’t feel nervous.   I got my phone and went in my mailbox. I saw the BieberFever contest! Immediately, I opened the email and started to scream so high! My mother said to me, “What happened?” And I said, “I WON MOTHER, I WON! I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS!”   I cried so much. Mum thought that I would die! I couldn’t sleep that night.   Then it was October 12th, the best day of my life. I went to school but I was so nervous. I ate with my friend and then we went to River Plate Stadium. The weather was horrible! It rained a lot.   Once we stopped   the car in   the parking lot,  we  walked   to the stadium. We were soaked.   At 4:15 pm, we started to look for the people from BieberFever. We put on the wristband and then went with the other winners into the stadium.   When we were waiting, we were so nervous and couldn’t stop talking but finally I was in front of the door, I was shocked.   I entered the room and first I saw Kenny! I said, “Hello Kenny!” When I finished talking to him, I saw Justin, who is so perfect. He was there in front of me and I couldn’t believe it.  Immediately I hugged him without thinking anything. He hugged me too and I said, “I love you, I love you”. He said, “Thanks, thanks”. Then he greeted the other girls and the photographer took the picture.   I said, “I love you” again and he took my arm and smiled like saying thank you.   It was the best few minutes of my life! As I went out of the room, I started to cry a lot! The people in the stadium asked me if I was good because I looked like if I were dying.   Well.. There is MyBieberExpierence..THE BEST EXPIERENCE EVER!   I have something to say to all the Beliebers: NEVER SAY NEVER! Dreams come true, I know why I’m telling you this.   Thank to God, family and BieberFever to give me this opportunity to believe in me and turn my dreams into reality.   Peace, Love & Believe  ♥ -@ IamTatiMontes Excerpt from: One day I was on my computer and entered BieberFever.com….

I am thrilled with your story, I wish I could help somehow, I will give you 2 tickets to go see Justin”. I was so happy, but also wary. I started chatting with this person, and told me they worked in Justin’s team. I wanted to die (this person is not well known, however I can not tell who it is because I promised), but I said I would have to see how I’d get to Buenos Aires, where the concert was going to be. I talked to my mom, and God and the Virgin helped me a lot because my grandparents paid for the travel tickets, my uncle paid the hotel. Finally the day had come 13/10/11, I had to meet this person at 18:00pm at a certain place. We left the hotel with my mom at 17:15pm in the afternoon. We got their and the person did not come. They put bracelet that said JUSTIN BIEBER  ♥ on us for the meet and greet.  I was known as, “THE GIRL OF THE VIDEO.” That guy that inspires my day, light brown-eyes, boy of my size, thin, the guy with the best hair, the one with the smile that always makes you smile, which has a sense of humor, the perfect guy, gave me a kiss on the cheek to my mom and me, hugged me. David Banner Questions Motives of Artists Moving In On Occupy Wall Street

‘All of us have become so corporate that people don’t even feel like we’re a part of the people,’ rapper tells MTV News. By Steven Roberts David Banner at Occupy Wall Street Photo: MTV News NEW YORK — David Banner wasn’t the first artist to visit Occupy Wall Street , and he certainly won’t be the last. But Banner questioned the true intentions of many of the artists taking part in the demonstrations. When MTV News followed Banner down to Manhattan’s Zuccotti Park last Thursday, he said others probably questioned their intentions as well. “One of my only criticisms of hip-hop right now is that we all — like everybody — we can’t separate ourselves. All of us have become so corporate that people don’t even feel like we’re a part of the people, especially rappers and punk rockers,” Banner said. “People always felt like we were them. We were their voice. “You look at what happened with Troy [Davis] . We’re still at war, we’re in a recession, where’s that in the music? I don’t hear that in the music,” he continued. “This is the general feeling that people won’t really say, but I hear it.” Banner said that in the aftermath of 2005’s Hurricane Katrina, many rappers ran to the Gulf Coast to help, but only when cameras were there. Banner, who won a Visionary Award from the National Black Caucus of State Legislators for his efforts during the hurricane, said that many of those rappers disappeared once the cameras did. “That’s why I applaud somebody like Big Boi , like he still holding Troy [Davis] down. The thing is, we have to understand that it’s not about what you do when the cameras are on, it’s what you do when the cameras are off.” Banner also addressed the merits of the Occupy Wall Street demonstrators. People have questioned whether or not the demonstration is representative of everyone it claims it is, because the demonstrators are predominantly white. But Banner said that if upper-middle-class white kids weren’t there, the police wouldn’t be as patient with the demonstration. “They’d just send the police out there, throw some tear gas, plant somebody in there. Call it gang violence, whatever, ya’ll know what they do in the ‘hood,” Banner said. “When their children are out there is when it becomes a movement. And I used to fight that and be mad at that, but what we got to understand is, in every movement, even in the ’60s, young, white, middle-class people were a major part of the movement. We have to stop separating ourselves.” Related Videos Inside Occupy Wall Street Related Photos The Occupation Party Shakes Up Times Square Related Artists David Banner

IMDB Sued for $1 Million for Revealing Actress’s Age

The Internet Movie Database (IMDb) is the film industry’s encyclopedia of data for filmmakers and actors, providing a wealth of information about the movies, past and present, and the people who make them (or aspire to). But was the IMD b in the wrong when it published the legal age of an actress/IMDb Pro user — and did that act warrant the $1 million lawsuit she’s now leveling at the website?

Elizabeth Smart on Baby Lisa Disappearance: Never Lose Hope

Now helping other kidnap victims with her foundation and in her role as an ABC News contributor covering missing person and child abduction cases, Elizabeth Smart naturally has an opinion on the disappearance of baby Lisa . Her mantra: Never give up hope. “There’s always hope,” Smart told People , citing her own example and others as reasons for it. “There’s my story, there’s Jaycee Dugard’s story and Shawn Hornbeck.” Smart, who’s also involved in the Elizabeth Smart Foundation, can certainly relate to baby Lisa, the Missouri missing child case currently making national headlines. “I think she’s alive,” she said. “She’s so young, and I feel like – maybe I’m just an eternal optimist – I always hope that whomever is kidnapped or disappears is still alive, and so I think the most important thing is to press forward with this using as much force and power as you can, and continue the search efforts, continuing on and not giving up.” Here’s hoping, whatever the odds, that she’s right.
