The countdown to Breaking Dawn is officially on. With the first part of the final Twilight Saga chapter schedule for a November 18 release, the hype machine is heading into overdrive, as evidenced by recent magazine covers that featured Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner . But those stars step aside below, as a new round of promotional photos focuses on the family Cullen. Click around below to enlarge images of Robert Pattinson, Kellan Lutz and others:
Peter Facinelli , the elder Twilight statesman at age 37, wrote, produced, and stars in the new movie Loosies , the story of a tricky pickpocket who discovers that his ex-girlfriend ( Jaimie Alexander ) is pregnant just as he finds himself on the lam. It costars Michael Madsen and Vincent Gallo , which should make you jolt an eyebrow. Let’s see if Facinelli can make thievery look cool in the movie’s new trailer .

MTV News caught up with Nikki Reed, Kellan Lutz and Peter Facinelli outside the Gibson Amphitheatre after “Eclipse” won the Golden Popcorn for Best Movie. The Cullen trio chatted about the last day of shooting, saying it wasn’t as emotional as fans might have expected. “It was surprising, actually, how little we had to say when we finished, to be honest,” Reed said. “We know we’re going to see each other, so it wasn’t super dramatic.” Facinelli agreed, adding, “We have two more movies coming out, so it wasn’t so much of a goodbye as it was a ‘see ya later.’ ” According to the three “Twilight” stars, there was no big commotion made on their last day of filming “Breaking Dawn.” In fact, none of the stars even made a speech. “We should have a speech right now!” Facinelli suggested. “Kellan?” Lutz turned to his co-stars and deadpanned, “I worked the very last day, and I hate you mother—-ers. That’s my speech.” Though the stars of “The Twilight Saga” still have another year and a half until the second part of “Breaking Dawn” hits theaters, and then will have to make press rounds to promote the DVD and Blu-ray release, they still are willing to look into the future to what they will be doing for other projects. Or they’re willing to joke about it, at least. “Broadway musical, let’s do it,” Facinelli said with a laugh. ” ‘Carlisle on Ice.’ I can’t wait.” “I’ll buy a ticket,” Lutz offered. ‘I’ve never won any award before, so this is very exciting,’ she says of Best Comedic Performance prize. By Ryan J. Downey, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Emma Stone wins Best Comedic Performance at the 2011 Movie Awards Photo: Kevin Winter/ Getty Images A newborn baby was part of the plot in “Due Date,” but it was Emma Stone doing the cradling after she beat Zach Galifianakis (and three other guys) at the MTV Movie Awards . “This is my child,” Stone joked with MTV News backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre as she lovingly cradled the Golden Popcorn she nabbed for Best Comedic Performance. “I’m going to [feed him]. I’m going to every day. “It’s never happened before,” she added. “I’ve never won any award before, so this is very exciting.” “Easy A” earned Stone the win over Galifianakis, Adam Sandler (“Just Go With It”), Ashton Kutcher (“No Strings Attached”) and Russell Brand (“Get Him to the Greek”). “In a category with four hilarious comedic men? I did not think I was going to win,” she said. “So I’m incredibly flattered and honored. “And it’s so nice, because it’s voted on by the public, which is an unbelievable honor,” she added. The 22-year-old actress was on hand as a presenter alongside her “Crazy, Stupid, Love” co-stars Ryan Gosling and Steve Carell. She was also nominated in the Best Female Performance category, which went to Kristen Stewart for “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.” Stone, who just wrapped shooting “The Amazing Spider-Man,” said she was genuinely surprised by her win in the Best Comedic Performance category. “Did that speech seem prepared?” she pointed out, laughing. “I don’t even know what I said! I was just concentrating on not falling over. Once you get up there, it’s a very shaky experience.” MTV News has all of the highlights from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . ‘Finally, they acknowledged their love for each other,’ Jackson Rathbone jokes about onscreen rivals at Movie Awards. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Robert Pattinson kisses Taylor Lautner at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage The biggest shocker to come out of the MTV Movie Awards on Sunday night (June 5) was hands down that Robert Pattinson treated Taylor Lautner to a smooch almost as passionate as the ones in the Golden Popcorn-winning “Twilight Saga” films. But while it came as a surprise to those of us watching the awards show, the stars of this year’s nominated “Eclipse” said it was about time the two onscreen rivals shared a kiss. “It was about damn time, man. It’s been up in the air for about three years now. I think we’ve all been waiting for Rob and Taylor to kiss,” Jackson Rathbone told MTV News when we caught up with him backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles. “We knew it was coming, and finally it did. Finally, they acknowledged their love for each other.” Rathbone’s vampire brother Kellan Lutz admitted he was a bit surprised, but their co-star Peter Facinelli shared a little secret about how the RPattz/Taylor smooch went off without a hitch. “They asked us to show them in practice,” Facinelli said. “We taught them everything they know,” Lutz confirmed. Nikki Reed chimed in, saying she wanted to see some visual proof of the tale Lutz and Facinelli were weaving. “Let’s re-enact that!” she begged, but the duo passed, insisting Facinelli had already pecked Lutz on the cheek earlier in our interview. Tinsel Korey hought the Pattinson and Lautner kiss was “totally sexy,” but Kiowa Gordon said he “puked a little bit” when his onscreen enemies locked lips. BooBoo Stewart had “no comment,” but Julia Jones at least “thought it was cute.” All seemed to have been smoothed over by the time Pattinson, Lautner and their co-stars took the stage to accept the Best Movie award, with Lautner teasingly giving his sparkly co-star a knowing look and a quick tap on the chin before throwing his arm around his shoulder. As Rathbone said, those two should be nominated for a special award at next year’s Movie Awards for Best Man-On-Man Kiss. What did you think of Rob and Taylor’s kiss? Tell us in the comments! Co-presenter RPattz gets carried away with an ‘ad lib’ at Movie Awards. By Aly Semigran Reese Witherspoon accepts her Generation Award at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Getty Images Reese Witherspoon was on hand at this year’s MTV Movie Awards to accept the Generation Award for her work in genre-spanning box-office hits like “Election,” “Legally Blonde,” “Cruel Intentions,” “Pleasantville” and “Walk the Line,” which earned her a Best Actress Oscar. But what Witherspoon — and the audience, for that matter — probably wasn’t expecting was some surprisingly salty banter from the co-stars who presented her with the award. Patrick Dempsey, Robert Pattinson and Chelsea Handler took the stage to praise Witherspoon’s illustrious career, with Dempsey, who co-starred with Reese in the 2002 romantic comedy “Sweet Home Alabama,” describing the actress as “beautiful and multitalented.” The actor ran down her long list of accomplishments, both onscreen and off, concluding his portion with a mention of Witherspoon’s charitable work with the Avon Foundation. Up next was a stunned Pattinson, who asked aloud, “I’m supposed to talk about the Avon thing?!” The “Twilight” hunk — he and Kristen Stewart had won Best Kiss just moments earlier — quickly tried to recover, calling Witherspoon a “great person” and pulling a piece of paper with some notes on it from his pocket. Still obviously nervous, RPattz told the crowd that he had been instructed by the teleprompter to “ad lib” his dedication. “This is the worst,” Handler quipped about Pattinson’s hilariously shaky start. Pattinson finally got his bearings and addressed Witherspoon, who was seated in the audience. The 24-year-old star reminded the actress that she played his mother in the 2004 drama “Vanity Fair” but his portion of the film was cut out, joking that it was at Witherspoon’s suggestion. However, in their most recent venture, “Water for Elephants,” Pattinson noted that Witherspoon “played my lover.” And then (in what’s bound to go down in MTV Movie Awards, missed-the-bleep-button history) Pattinson blurted, “But I did f— you.” His F-bomb went live and uncensored. But he wasn’t done yet. The actor went on to suggest that Witherspoon had trouble speaking while in a girdle, has a penchant for tequila and that she may or may not be “33 percent lesbian,” as an embarrassed Witherspoon hid her face and laughed from her seat. Pattinson concluded his remarks by saying, “It’s not always a bad thing to have sexual chemistry with your mother,” once again referencing his unseen part in “Vanity Fair.” “What a tough act to follow,” the host of E!’s “Chelsea Lately” deadpanned. The late-night funny lady opened by complimenting Witherspoon, a mother of two, saying she “still has a smaller ass than Justin Bieber. It’s OK, we’re friends,” Handler assured the vocal crowd. The comedian also shared that her pal actually has a naughty side — as seen in the infamous roller-coaster moment with Mark Wahlberg in the thriller “Fear” — before Witherspoon finally took the stage to accept her award. A beaming Witherspoon, who took the roast from “the three most ridiculous people in the world” like a champ, quickly fired back. She told her “Water for Elephants” flame that he actually botched his joke and should have declared himself the “best mother—-er in Hollywood.” Witherspoon’s zinger had Pattinson and the MTV audience cracking up. The Hollywood star’s acceptance speech included some great one-liners, but she also countered Handler’s suggestion that she’s a “dirty birdie” deep down. Rather, Witherspoon said she hopes aspiring actresses will look to her for inspiration instead of seeking fame by way of a reality show. The 35-year-old let loose about reality starlets and actresses who’ve exposed themselves for fame. “I just want to say to all the girls out there, I know it’s cool to be bad. I get it … but it’s also possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show,” Witherspoon said to a cheering audience. She continued, “When I came up in this business, if you made a sex tape, you were embarrassed, you hid it under your bed … and, like, if you took naked pictures of yourself on your cell phone, you hide your face, people!” In closing, the actress thanked MTV for years of support and all of the fans who had made it possible for her to live out her life-long dream. ‘Twilight’ actors Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner heat up red carpet. By Mary H.K. Choi Kristen Stewart at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Jason Merritt/ Getty Images Swoon. There’s nothing like an entire sea of sartorial goodies from an awards show to get the MTV Style squad good and excited, and Sunday’s (June 5) 2011 MTV Movie Awards red carpet was nothing short of bananas! You can check out our blow-by-blow palpitations on our live blog . Sharing the podium with none other than our Christian Siriano — and his darling boyfriend, jewelry designer/photographer Brad Walsh (who, by the way, was wearing the same grey, black grosgrain-accented suit as a baby cub member of the “Twilight” wolf pack) — we witnessed an awesome style potpourri. White was a huge trend for the night, and “The Last Exorcism” actress Ashley Bell sidled up in a gorgeous embroidered, knee-length dress cut demurely at the knee with the loveliest sweetheart neckline. Selena Gomez also wore a two-piece Giambattista Valli with a printed ivory top and a beige ruched miniskirt. “Gossip Girl” and “Monte Carlo” co-star Katie Cassidy wore a gorgeous floor-length ivory crocheted dress. Pssst! Floor-length was a huge hit for the night. Generation Award winner Reese Witherspoon, “Transformers” star Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Snow White-to-be Lily Collins were all visions of ferocious awesomeness in animal print (leopard, tiger and leopard again, respectively), but the breakout aesthetic that dominated the red carpet was massive sequins, angular shards of jewels and beading galore. , Lil Mama (in Sherri Hill) and “Gossip Girl” and “Monte Carlo” co-star Leighton Meester all wore the sparkly stuff, but the curveball of the night had to be “True Grit” breakout actress Hailee Steinfeld not wearing Miu Miu (the brand for which she’s a spokesperson), instead sporting a wholly refreshing Louis Vuitton black, sequined lapel tuxedo! We just about dropped dead from the rampant elegance. Elle Fanning also threw us for a loop in a summery, saturated-hue pink romper with matching floral-printed wedge heels, both Dolce & Gabbana and marvelously age-appropriate. And though Kristen Stewart would typically, tidily slot nicely into the segment about beading, , while it did feature the glitz factor in scads, needed to be pulled out for a round of 360 mega-props. All that glittered was not gold, but row upon row of safety pins that gleamed menacingly and gorgeously. Not unlike a certain vampire’s twinkling nude torso in sunlight, no? This is the skin of a killer! Speaking of hot dudes, motorcycle jackets reined supreme on the red carpet as did dark jeans. Peter Facinelli (a.k.a. Carlisle Cullen. Team Edward forever! Also, let’s face it, Team Jacob, too) wore a moto, as did Jason Bateman and Taylor Lautner in head-to-toe D&G. Spider-Man-to-be Andrew Garfield, Kellan Lutz and Robert Pattinson all wore dark denim. All the better to stealthily march into our hearts, dreams, wakeful reveries, loins … too much? MTV News has all of the highlights from the 2011 MTV Movie Awards . ‘I haven’t really had that moment of remorse or blues,’ he tells MTV News of still shooting final film. By Kara Warner Peter Facinelli Photo: Frazer Harrison/ Getty Images Earlier this week, MTV News learned of an exciting “Twilight” and “American Idol” mash-up between Peter Facinelli and “Idol” castoff Paul McDonald on the “Loosies” soundtrack. Naturally, we couldn’t let Facinelli hang up the phone until we addressed another important subject matter: “Breaking Dawn.” Unlike co-star Robert Pattinson , Facinelli has yet to wrap his work on the “Twilight” saga. “I still have another two weeks of second-unit stunt work, so for me, it doesn’t feel quite done yet,” he said. “I haven’t really had that moment of remorse or blues, you know, the blues of finishing. I’m in the midst of still finishing myself.” Regarding a few key scenes that his co-stars have mentioned — specifically the Taylor Lautner vs. Kristen Stewart fight scene — Facinelli agreed that seeing the much smaller Stewart take on Lautner was entertaining. “Oh yes, I was there for that,” he said. “[It was] very funny. … But you have to kick his butt a little bit,” Facinelli added about the idea of Lautner’s character Jacob imprinting on Bella and Edward’s daughter Renesmee . Although he couldn’t go into too much detail, we asked Facinelli to describe the heavily hyped wedding scene for us. “Beautiful and spectacular,” he said. “It’s funny, because whenever we have a big important scene on ‘Twilight’ [movies], it rains. I was doing the baseball sequence [from ‘Twilight’], and it was raining. But you never see it on film,” he said of the filmmaking crew’s movie magic. “With this wedding, it rained the whole time we shot the two scenes. But you’ll never see it on film, they block out the rain. They put tarps up and you’ll never see it. But for us, it was very wet and muddy and cold.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .
