‘Revenge’ Star ‘Deeply In Love’ With Robert Pattinson

Madeleine Stowe says she may consider altering role to make it more age-appropriate for ‘Twilight’ star. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Madeleine Stowe Photo: Steve Granitz/ Getty Images Robert Pattinson is so beloved by “Unbound Captives” producer Madeleine Stowe that she may consider altering a character in the film’s script so that the “Twilight Saga” star can take the role. MTV News caught up with Stowe on the Golden Globes red carpet and asked her whether there is any chance of RPattz being in the upcoming film. After all, when we last talked to Pattinson , he suggested that he might now be too old for the role. “The character was conceptualized as an 18-year-old,” Stowe acknowledged. When asked if she would be willing to age up the role so he could still take the part, she said with a laugh, “We might. We might just do that. We’ll see how it all falls.” It wasn’t just the “Twilight” phenomenon that is causing Stowe to be willing to jump through hoops for Pattinson. She explained that she met him before he joined the first “Twilight” film and “fell deeply in love with him” then. Hugh Jackman and Rachel Weisz are also currently attached to the project. In fact, Jackman recently told MTV News that it’s “one of the best scripts I’ve read in a long time.” With Pattinson’s commitment to “Cosmopolis” over with, he seemingly has an open slate ahead of him. Stowe said that Pattinson’s decision to come onboard “Unbound Captives” is strictly in his camp. “It’s going to be sort of up to Robert. We’re looking at 2013 [for a release date] right now,” Stowe said. Stick with MTV News all night for the 2012 Golden Globes winners, and don’t miss all the fashion from the Golden Globes red carpet ! Michelle Williams Wins Golden Globe For Best Actress

‘My Week With Marilyn’ actress takes home same award as Monroe did in 1960. By Jocelyn Vena Michelle Williams at the 2012 Golden Globes Photo: HFPA/ NBC Michelle Williams has come a long way since her “Dawson’s Creek” days. On Sunday night (January 15), the pixie-haired actress took the stage to accept her prize for Best Performance by an Actress in a Motion Picture – Comedy or Musical for her chameleon-like turn as silver-screen icon Marilyn Monroe in “My Week With Marilyn.” “I consider myself a mother first and an actress second, and so the person I most want to thank is my daughter, my little girl [Matilda Ledger], whose bravery and exuberance is the example I take with me in my work and in my life. I want to say thank you for sending me off to this job every day with a hug and kiss,” she gushed in her Jason Wu gown. “I couldn’t have done it otherwise. You kept me so excited to come home at night and for suffering through six months of bedtime stories where the princesses were read out loud in a Marilyn Monroe sounding voice. “I could go on and on,” she continued, thanking everyone from producer Harvey Weinstein to her longtime pal and former “Dawson’s” co-star Busy Phillips, adding, “I wish I could go on and on; there’s so many people to thank. Thank you to Hollywood Foreign Press Association for putting in my hands the same award that Marilyn Monroe herself won over fifty years ago. I’m honored.” In 1960, Monroe took home the Golden Globe for Best Motion Picture Actress in Comedy or Musical for her iconic role in “Some Like It Hot.” Williams has been nominated twice before, in 2005 for her work in “Brokeback Mountain” and again in 2010 for her role in “Blue Valentine.” This is her first win. Madonna’s ‘Masterpiece’ Wins The Golden Globe

Song is featured in ‘W.E.,’ which Madge wrote and directed. By Jocelyn Vena Madonna at the 2012 Golden Globe Awards Photo: Steve Granitz/ WireImage Madonna has a huge year ahead of her, and she’s already getting some shine. At the Golden Globes on Sunday night (January 15), the pop star-turned-film director nabbed the Best Original Song prize for “Masterpiece,” which was featured in “W.E.,” which she wrote and directed . Taking the stage in her glittering Reem Acra-designed dress, Madge thanked the many collaborators who helped her write the song featured in her first feature film, which opens in wide release next month. “This is a surprise,” she told the room, clutching her prize. “Thank you so much to the Hollywood Foreign Press for this acknowledgement. I need to thank my co-writers, Jimmy Harry and Julie Frost, my co-producer William Orbit, who’s not here, whom I adore.” As her speech went on, she opened up a bit about the creation of the award-winning track, ignoring her exit music altogether. “I would also like to thank my manager, Guy Oseary, who I spend most of my time beating up on,” she said. “But seriously, he harangued me for the entire time I was filming and editing my movie to write a song. And I said, ‘Please, Guy, I’m trying to focus on being a director and I want people to pay attention to the film and I don’t have time.’ So then I finished the film and I started making my record and somehow magically and miraculously the song emerged, ‘Masterpiece,’ so thank you, Guy Oseary, for being so irritating.” As her speech wrapped up, she thanked her leading lady in the film, Andrea Riseborough, and producer Harvey Weinstein, whom she called the Punisher. This is hardly Madonna’s first Golden Globe. She previously won Best Actress in Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for playing Eva Peron in “Evita.” “Masterpiece” is expected to appear on Madonna’s forthcoming new record, M.D.N.A. Happy Birthday Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.: A Gallery Of Poignant And Precious Moments Of His Life

In case you forgot, the reason why most of you are off tomorrow is that today is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday. Had his life not been cut short on April 4, 1968, Dr. King would have been 83 today. But he once said that his number of years were not what mattered: “Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I’m not concerned about that now. I just want to do God’s will. And He’s allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I’ve looked over. And I’ve seen the promised land. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we, as a people will get to the promised land.” And if you are a person of color living in America, there is no denying that Dr. King played a great role to getting you to your “promised land.” Hit the flip and check out a few of our favorite photos of Dr. King over the years and ten facts you may not have know about him.

‘Caged’ Brings ‘Roller Coaster Of Emotions’

‘All sorts of things go wrong, all sorts of things go right,’ castmember Matt ‘Danger’ says of episode two of MTV series. By Matt Elias “Caged” star Matt “Danger” Photo: MTV News The series premiere of MTV’s new docu-reality show “Caged” brought plenty of hard knocks and drama on Monday night. The show centers on the lives of MMA fighters both in the cage and out, and from what we saw, both bring heavy blows. From the rocky relationship between castmembers Wes and Red to fellow fighter Daniel’s tragic loss of his girlfriend Hannah, this season is sure to bring plenty of drama. Even the training leading up to a big fight had its heart-pounding moments, like Wes’ decision to don a sauna suit in a hot car in order to sweat away water weight. While the premiere focused more on the personal lives of Daniel and Wes, episode two brings more attention to the series’ other standout castmember Matt, a.k.a. “Danger.” “In the next episode, you’ll see a little more of my story and [the show] will start picking up more with me,” Danger told MTV News. In last Monday’s episode we saw a bit of that story begin to develop. Danger confronted his sister about her decision to be a stripper, but the season teaser shown at the end of the episode alluded to an even bigger family problem: his mother’s struggles with alcohol. “At the time, my mother was going through a really difficult time, so I move in with her, I quit my job and start training full time. And it’s a roller coaster of emotions and all sorts of things go wrong, all sorts of things go right, and a lot of things fell into my favor and a lot of things didn’t,” Danger said. “But y’all stay tuned and hopefully enjoy my story and become a fan of mine. I’m a hardworking fighter and I think you’ll be able to tell.” While we’ve seen the downs, the series isn’t without its ups. Danger was careful not to reveal too much, but he clued us in to what some of those ups will include over the course of this season. “In coming episodes, you’ll be able to see good friends of mine — a buddy of mine, Tony Kelly, he’s coming up. He’s a good training partner and one of my best training partners. I’ve been training with that dude now for two, three years — so very excited to see him get his opportunity to shine.” You can catch “Caged” on Mondays at 10 p.m. ET on MTV. Vinny’s ‘Jersey Shore’ Anxiety ‘Will Help Others’

Psychiatrist talks to MTV News after the star left the show on Thursday’s episode to address his lifelong struggle with clinical anxiety. By James Montgomery Vinny and Pauly D on “Jersey Shore” Photo: MTV On Thursday night’s “Jersey Shore,” viewers were given a glimpse inside Vinny Guadagnino’s lifelong (though closely guarded) struggle with clinical anxiety — a battle that finally forced him to leave the show and return home to Staten Island. It was a decidedly somber moment on a show that more often than not focuses solely on good times. But Guadagnino’s condition shouldn’t come as all that much of a shock: according to estimates, 15 to 25 percent of the population suffer from some form of anxiety disorder, and most of the time, those conditions remain undiagnosed. Which is why the “Shore” star going public with his personal struggle is such a big deal. Perhaps by doing so, he will inspire others to do the same. “I was really struck by the honesty and the candor. I didn’t expect that to be on national television,” Dr. Sue Varma, a Manhattan psychiatrist and faculty member at NYU’s Langone Medical Center, told MTV News. “As private as it is, if you’re a public figure like he is, and you’re dealing with an issue, you can bring awareness to it. It will help other people suffering from [an anxiety disorder] to come out without fear of being ostracized. It will get people talking and get people help.” Varma said that many of the conditions Guadagnino discussed on the episode are all fairly common to those suffering from an anxiety disorder. And those conditions were only exacerbated by his hard-charging Seaside Heights surroundings. “You hear Vinny talking about not having his family around, not having a regular sleep schedule, going out a lot, drinking … routine is really big, sleep is huge. For every psychiatric disorder, sleep is a symptom, either sleeping too little or sleeping too much,” she said. “Often you’ll hear somebody say they’re having ruminating thoughts, they’re obsessing, they’re thinking about the same things over and over again, and often that keeps them from falling asleep. “People who are anxious tend to stay in their head, because it helps them avoid their emotions. As long as they’re thinking, they feel they’re doing something to prevent something bad from happening. And that disconnects them from their surroundings,” she continued. “And a lot of people who have anxiety also have depression, and depression brings about changes in appetite, loss of concentration, memory problems and, in severe cases, even suicide. You become isolated … you lose your sense of pleasure in life. And anxiety, when it’s untreated, when somebody feels it’s out of control, that can bring on depression.” And the fact that Guadagnino managed to keep his anxiety a secret for so long doesn’t surprise Varma one bit; after all, millions suffer from similar disorders, and more often than not, their friends and family aren’t even aware of it. Or, if they are, they’re not sure how they can help. “All psychiatric conditions are medical conditions, so in the way people have diabetes or high blood pressure, that needs to be taken seriously, they have real biological circumstances, so does anxiety or depression,” she continued. “It’s a medical disorder, and people really think it’s a mood, a phase that you’re in, a funk that you’re in, and you can just snap out of it. You can’t. Anxiety disorders are really an umbrella, and there’s seven or eight major categories that fall under that. People who have it are integrated amongst us … there are plenty of people that you’re working with that you don’t realize have it, because they seem so functional. And having seen previous episodes, I wouldn’t have realized [Guadagnino had a disorder] until he came forward.” Varma added that there are a variety of treatments available to those battling anxiety disorders — everything from psychotherapy to medications like Zoloft or Prozac — but the key is getting those with conditions to admit they need help. That’s always been the biggest battle, though now that Guadagnino has gone public, perhaps those like him will follow suit. “It’s really important to let people know that there’s no stigma in this,” Varma said. “There are millions of people suffering from this, and it’s treatable.” For continuing “Jersey Shore” coverage, be sure to check in with MTV’s Remote Control blog. Jersey Shore High Five: Vinny Leaves?!

Plus: Pauly gets burned … and robbed. By Jim Cantiello Vinny on the “Jersey Shore” on Thursday night Photo: MTV Thursday night’s “Jersey Shore” brought back season-one hookups and introduced a new kleptomaniac, while Pauly’s “GTL” game is all out of whack thanks to a gnarly tanning-bed sunburn. Plus, Vinny’s anxiety disorder caught up with him and the fan favorite moved out of the house for some R&R. Oh no! Click on the embedded video below to catch my five favorite moments from this week’s “Jersey Shore.” 5. Jionni Gets Wet After the gang got caught in the rain, Snooki’s man Jionni needed some dry threads. What a guy the Situation is! Gives Jionni the clothes off his back and gives America the need for brain bleach yet again when he brings up the rumor that Snooki’s mouth and his “situation” are intimately familiar with each other. Woof. 4. Winner Winner Chicken Dinner At Karma, the girls got a little tipsy. Obvs. And Deena shared an adorable euphemism for getting her sex on. I wonder what Snooki calls it! So in other words, sex with Deena is like winning a trip to Willy Wonka’s chocolate factory and sex with Snooki is like a flavorless, usually dry overcooked slab of meat. Noted. 3. Face Off DJ Pauly D said, “Screw SPF” and ended up S-O-L. That sound could only mean one thing: A “Jersey Shore” r-r-r-r-r-remix!!! 2. Sticky-Fingered Hookup Later, Pauly got down a DTF girl, but as soon as the smooshing ended, Pauly’s long national nightmare began … To add insult to injury, DTF girl turned out to be Winona Ryder with a touch of that crazy Israeli girl from season one. Because the next day? “Ding dong, here’s your chain that I stole. Yay, I’m back on television! Hi, mom, I’m a star!” God help us if she keeps coming back to find her missing shoes. I’m on to you, shady lady. 1. Vinny Leaves?! Ugh, feelings? Boring! Get drunk, f— a girl … I don’t watch this show for touchy-feely crap. Boooo! But seriously, poor Vinny says he’s having severe anxiety attacks. I know what will make him feel better. Vinny, smack Snooki in the face with your balls. Still depressed? Hmm, that usually works. I don’t know what’s gonna happen! Vinny actually left?!? So now who has the biggest penis in the house? This is important, “Jersey Shore”! Don’t leave us hangin’! Pun intended?
