5 Reasons Ron Artest Was Set Up By “Dancing With The Stars” [ORIGINAL]

Originally posted here:

Athletes usually have a long run on ABC ‘s “ Dancing with the Stars ,” but Los Angeles Laker Ron Artest (a.k.a. Metta World Peace) was the first to get the boot from the season 13 cast. Yes, Ron is a horrible dancer, but he could have had a longer run if he hadn’t been set up to fail! Here’s what prevented him from going far on “Dancing with the Stars”… Who’s That Chick? Instead of pairing Ron Artest with one of the popular professional dancers, he was paired up with new addition Peta Murgatroyd. Maybe this move prevented him from some additional votes? My Name Is Ron Artest’s name was officially changed to Metta World Peace before “Dancing with the Stars” premiered on September 19th, but he was more often referred to by his former name. Maybe there was voter confusion? Up First Ron Artest was the first to perform on the two-hour show on a competitive night of television. Maybe voters missed his chuckle-worthy performance? Laker Haters Either the Los Angeles Lakers are no longer as beloved as they used to be, or the Laker Haters unified and sent their votes to other dancers. Maybe the strength of the Laker Haters was too powerful? The “Crazy” Factor Ron Artest has earned a reputation for being a little nutty, but he danced to a song called “Crazy” by Pitbull! Maybe the song subconsciously turned voters against him? Was Ron Artest robbed by “Dancing With The Stars”? Take a look at his first and last performance on the show, and please leave your thoughts in the comments section at the bottom of this page.

A Message From Troy Davis

Read the original:

Below is a letter from Troy Davis who is scheduled to be executed tonight in Jackson, Georgia in one of the most controversial death penalty cases of the century: I want to thank all of you for your efforts and dedication to Human Rights and Human Kindness, in the past year I have experienced such emotion, joy, sadness and never ending faith. It is because of all of you that I am alive today, as I look at my sister Martina I am marveled by the love she has for me and of course I worry about her and her health, but as she tells me she is the eldest and she will not back down from this fight to save my life and prove to the world that I am innocent of this terrible crime. As I look at my mail from across the globe, from places I have never ever dreamed I would know about and people speaking languages and expressing cultures and religions I could only hope to one day see first hand. I am humbled by the emotion that fills my heart with overwhelming, overflowing Joy. I can’t even explain the insurgence of emotion I feel when I try to express the strength I draw from you all, it compounds my faith and it shows me yet again that this is not a case about the death penalty, this is not a case about Troy Davis, this is a case about Justice and the Human Spirit to see Justice prevail. I cannot answer all of your letters but I do read them all, I cannot see you all but I can imagine your faces, I cannot hear you speak but your letters take me to the far reaches of the world, I cannot touch you physically but I feel your warmth everyday I exist. So Thank you and remember I am in a place where execution can only destroy your physical form but because of my faith in God, my family and all of you I have been spiritually free for some time and no matter what happens in the days, weeks to come, this Movement to end the death penalty, to seek true justice, to expose a system that fails to protect the innocent must be accelerated. There are so many more Troy Davis’. This fight to end the death penalty is not won or lost through me but through our strength to move forward and save every innocent person in captivity around the globe. We need to dismantle this Unjust system city by city, state by state and country by country. I can’t wait to Stand with you, no matter if that is in physical or spiritual form, I will one day be announcing, “I AM TROY DAVIS, and I AM FREE!” Never Stop Fighting for Justice and We will Win! Lala’s Battle With The Press On “Lala’s Full Court Life” [RECAP]

The rest is here:

On this episode of “Lala’s Full Court Life”, Lala takes us behind the scenes of all her New York press tours. She heads over to “Good Day New York”, “The Wendy Williams Show” and our favorite, “Power 105.1′s The Breakfast Club Morning Show”. She seems to be feeling a bit better about her NY transition this week after doing her press runs, seeing Melo’s huge billboard near timesquare and spending time with her two besties, Dice and Po. Lala mentioned during one of her interviews that she hadn’t met any of the other Knicks wives yet and worries that her statement would be taken the wrong way and turned into “Lala against the Knicks Basketball Wives”. After clearing it up during one of her interviews, she heads to lunch with Dice and Po who decide to play a game and figure out who’s significant other loves them the most by calling them while when were working and see which one picks up the phone. After Lala called Melo and was sent straight to voicemail,  Po called her girlfriend was was sent to voicemail as well, Dice was successful in getting her boo to pick up the phone and was named the winner of the game. At the end of the show, we see Lala and Kiyan getting ready to leave their hotel in Tribeca and move to a home in Westchester until they can find the perfect castle for NY’s First Family. Tyrese & Taraji Reunite For “Stay” [NEW VIDEO]

See the rest here:

Tyrese and Taraji P. Henson, his one-time onscreen girlfriend from “Baby Boy,” reunite for his latest video “Stay.” In the clip, Tyrese plays a boyfriend bogged down with work and Taraji his neglected woman. The final straw comes when he opts to go to a meeting instead of console her while upset. She finally decides to pack her bags, but he catches her before she’s gone for good and attempts to make his last (and final) plea for her to “stay.” But will she? The retro-inspired track is tinged with guitar-plucking, finger-snapping and old school “oohs” harmonizing in the background. We LOVE it. Steve Carell’s Emmy Expectations Were ‘Fairly Low’

‘Office’ star wasn’t expecting to take home the Emmy for his final season as Michael Scott — and he didn’t. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Steve Carell at the 2011 Emmy Awards Photo: MTV News Steve Carell will no longer be playing “The Office” boss Michael Scott, and on Sunday night (September 18), it seemed that he wouldn’t be taking home an Emmy for the role either. The six-time nominee for the role lost to “Big Bang Theory” actor Jim Parsons, but he didn’t seem to think he had a shot at it before the show even started. On the red carpet, MTV News caught up with the comedic actor, and he seemed doubtful he’d finally take home an Emmy for his portrayal of the bumbling Michael Scott. “It would be a culmination of all my hopes and dreams,” he laughed. “It would be great, but I’m putting my expectations on the fairly low side and just trying to enjoy it and see my friends. I haven’t seen my friends from ‘The Office’ in a while, so that’s going to be fun.” Sure, Michael Scott may have moved away to be with his lady love Holly, but would he be willing to stop by for a cameo this season, or ever? “I don’t think Michael Scott should come back at all,” he said. “I just think it’s better if he just moves along. I think the show should become whatever it’s going to become without people traipsing back in.” Next up, Carell is working with Spike Jonze on the movie “Frank or Francis,” but he stayed pretty tight-lipped. “It is based in the world of Hollywood,” Carell said cryptically, before admitting, “It’s crazy great.” Would you like to see Steve Carell make a return trip to “The Office”?
