There’s only one movie this week that’s both new and nude, but based on the buzz surrounding Looper (2012) after preview screenings at Toronto and Fantastic Fest, it’s the only movie you’ll need. Piper Perabo breaks a ten-year nude drought as a showgirl who does the horizontal tango with star Joseph Gordon-Levitt 24 minutes in, and trust us– when it comes out on DVD, we’ll be looping this one. B-movie powerhouse Troma Studios has a new motto: If you can’t beat ’em, give ’em something to beat off to on YouTube. The company has hit upon a novel response to the problem of video piracy: pre-empting torrenters by posting 150 Troma titles in full on YouTube. A few of their “classics” ( The Toxic Avenger (1985), for example) cost $2.99 to watch, but the majority are free. The selection includes movies produced by Troma Studios as well as titles in their distribution catalog; some of the more SKINteresting picks are the classic teen sex comedies Getting Lucky (1990), The First Turn-On!! (1983), and Video Vixens (1975), all of which contain copious amounts of bare flesh. Speaking of, Troma has made no attempt to censor the skin in the films it has uploaded, indicating a new, more permissive climate at the usually nudity-phobic YouTube–or maybe that this deal is too good to last long. Well, cheer up, Piper fans, because our Skin Skout just left a preview screening of the time-travel action flick Looper (2012) at the Toronto International Film Festival and he reports that in the film, Piper breaks a non-nude streak that has lasted since 2001’s Lost and Delirious . Piper’s role has been kept under wraps save for a seductive promo photo (above), so we won’t tell you too much. But we will say she plays a “showgirl” who dances on stage in lingerie and then bares breasts in bed with star Joseph Gordon-Levitt 24 minutes in. Sorry, butt men- no Pooper . Just a few episodes into its run, USA Network has already ordered a second season of its female spy series Covert Affairs , which hit a program high of nearly 5.5 million viewers this week. For perspective, over 2 million more people watched Piper Perabo karate kick herself out of a sticky situation than watched Mad Men ‘s season four premiere. Harvey and Bob Weinstein have been working steadily over the last few months to regain their old haunt Miramax from Disney, but the LAT says the deal has fallen apart. Among the sticking points: the Weinsteins’ final bid, $625 million, wasn’t quite as high as Disney wanted. Ugh, now the brothers will have to use that money to actually release the films they have on the shelf. They hate having to do that! [ LAT ]

Over the past week, Movieline has reviewed all kinds of network series featuring a range of cops and crime-fighters. There have been funny, overweight cops looking for love ; handsome police officers patrolling Hawaii , three generations of squabbling Irish badges , Detroit detectives and Chicago heat . But nowhere in these line-ups was there room for a gorgeous CIA trainee who shame-eats pints of cookie dough ice cream when she’s not taking down deadly assassins. Fortunately, USA Network has that subgenre covered.
