Pete Hegseth was speaking to his “Fox & Friends” colleagues about eating day-old, unrefrigerated Pizza Hut (no big deal) and added a tidbit about his hygiene. According to Hegseth, he doesn’t think he’s washed his hands in 10 years because “germs are not a real thing.” Hide ya handshakes. “Really,” he said. “I don’t really wash my hands ever,” he said. “I inoculate myself. Germs are not a real thing. I can’t see them, therefore they’re not real.” Pete later said he was “clearly joking” and added that the media who reported on his horrible hygiene habits are “self-righteous” and “angry.” To paraphrase the President from an hour ago: The Media is so self righteous and ANGRY! Loosen up and have some fun. The Country is doing well (as is my health!) P.S. I also support drinking from garden hoses & riding bikes w/o a helmet. Cue outrage… https://t.co/BubsAwBtFx — Pete Hegseth (@PeteHegseth) February 11, 2019 He’s incorrect. Maybe we just don’t want to run into Piss Poor POTUS’ (potentially) Staphylococcus spreading supporters. #DontWash https://t.co/wLVXkdEgr6 — Pete Hegseth (@PeteHegseth) February 10, 2019 When’s the last time you washed your hands? Are you too, “germ-free” like this guy?
No show has ever needed a “talking stick” type of mechanic quite like The View . After last week's uncomfortable discussion about Joy Behar's history with blackface , they're now discussing politics. Well, they're trying to. In this clip, Joy brings the discussion to a halt after Meghan McCain throws an on-air hissy fit. “What about Senator Amy Klobuchar?” Joy Behar asks rhetorically, kicking off a new topic. “She kicked off her Presidential campaign in the middle of a blizzard,” Joy notes. “And,” Joy continues. “Trump mocked her.” Joy continues to try to set up for the next portion of the discussion. Unfortunately, Meghan is already trying to interject with her opinion. It's literally her job to voice her views — it's right there in the show's name — but she's supposed to let Joy finish introducing the topic. Trump's tweet, attempting to roast Klobuchar, was his usual nonsense. He can't understand that climate change actually causes extreme weather on both ends despite an overall trend of warming. So he thinks that blizzards won't happen because of climate change (even though, obviously, a warming climate means more moisture in the air in many places). We get it — his brain is bad. That's been clear for a long time. But Meghan can't even let Joy read through something as short as a tweet without trying to interject. In fact, Meghan loudly says: “You know what?” while Joy is reading, and then we hear a smack , presumably of her note cards hitting the table. They then go into Klobuchar's response to Trump, which was to point out that his fake hair wouldn't look great in a blizzard. Meghan laughs nervously, saying: “It's stupid, it's all so stupid.” Abby Huntsman (who looks so much like her dad ) suggests that other politicians should rise above Trump's tactic of slinging insults. And then they get into the merits of whether women have an advantage, since Trump insulting women always looks worse to the public. I can't say that I agree with Abby on all of her views, but she does have a very congenial way of talking, even when she's wrong or being sarcastic. But Meghan was clearly chomping at the bit and felt like she was being steamrolled. “Can I say something now?” Meghan whines. (I don't want to be mean to Meghan — in fact, years ago, I really liked her! But oh gosh, that's exactly what she's doing) “Is that okay, Joy?” she asks sarcastically. “Do I have permission to speak now on Amy Klobuchar?” She looks at the audience as she asks this, as if appealing for sympathy. “We’re all good?” she asks indignantly. “Okay! Two quick things. Number one, I have friends that were at her announcement,” Meghan begins. She then cuts herself off, presumably at Joy's astonished facial expression. “Alright, no!” Meghan says. “By all means, keep going, Joy!” Clearly, Meghan thinks that Joy was trying to interrupt her. Joy makes it clear that this was not the case. “No,” Joy jokes. “If you're gonna have a hissy fit, we can't continue.” Her voice tone and her fake sullen expression make it clear that Joy is joking, here. There are times when Meghan McCain makes really great points on The View. Part of her appeal on the show is that she can really jump in and make a powerful point … every now and then. But she does spend a lot of time as the show's primary antagonist — even when her co-stars do not necessarily disagree with her. She seems to have an adversarial disposition towards her castmates. But they've faced off before, and seem to be able to keep things civil when they're not on camera. The View exists mostly for entertainment. They discuss the news rather than report it. That said … seriously. They might want to figure out a way to determine who talks when. At the very least, it might appease Meghan, who seems to constantly feel like she's being silenced. (She's not being silenced. She's literally being paid to speak)
On last Monday's intense episode of The Bachelor , Colton Underwood walked away and seemed to quit the show. He didn't really , of course, but ABC did conclude the installment by fading to black before even airing a rose ceremony, telling fans the storyline would “be continued” this week. Those were the circumstances under which we turned in to The Bachelor yesterday, curious about Colton and where his mind is at these days. But we ended this episode with thoughts about two suitors instead, following their historic decision to truly quit the show. These choices have been teased in our ongoing The Bachelor spoilers section, but you need to scroll down to see how they actually played out… 1. We Started This Week with a Rose Ceremony Gotta make up for not showing it last week, right? Almost right off the bat, Onyeka is sent packing after her explosive fight with Nicole in Miami. 2. What About Nicole? She got the early boot, too, of course. 3. We Move to the Group Date… The women competed in martial arts prior to going to a party, at which Sydney confronted Colton about giving other women more opportunities than her. 4. Why No One-on-One Date? Colton had no answer for Sydney. It’s not like he even picks who is rewarded with these outings. “I feel like ever since someone’s like, ‘Hey, you’re The Bachelor,’ it’s a lot of pressure. Everybody expects me to have everything figured out, and I don’t. I don’t have it figured out,” Colton told Sydney during this emotional chat. “I’m not naive to the fact that there’s other people here and I know every relationship is so different.” 5. Here’s the Thing, Though “My fear is that with the choices that you’ve been making, you are taking a lot of the easier choices with the people that you are pursuing. If that’s what you’re looking for, great,” Sydney told Colton candidly. 6. More from Sydney “I’m kind of at a crossroads because I want something real and I want something magical and I want everything that you’re looking for.” View Slideshow
Source: Splash News / Splash News After getting dragged on social media all day long and having the entire Young Money squad pull out of their BET Experience weekend, the network has issued an apology to Nicki Minaj for their spicy Grammy night tweet. Following Cardi B ‘s win for Best Rap Album on Sunday, BET tweeted that the “Hard White” rapper was “being dragged by her lacefront.” Nicki found the tweet offensive and responded by announcing that her and the rest of the YM camp will not be performing at the BET Experience Weekend in June. Young Money will no longer be apart of the BET Experience or award show. Summer Tour dates dropping soon — QUEEN (@NICKIMINAJ) February 11, 2019 The network followed up with an apology saying: BET loves Nicki Minaj. We have supported her from the very beginning of her career and will continue to do so moving forward. Nicki has paved the way for so many performers and has solidified her place as one of the most powerful figures in the music industry. Unfortunately the respect we have for Nicki was violated by this post that should never have been written. They added: The post does not reflect how we feel about Nicki. And further does not reflect our company values. We deeply apologize for the hurt, disappointment and confusion that this post has caused. We are committed to doing everything we can to address the situation. We are also conducting an internal audit to assure these types of posts are not published again. We have apologized to Nicki and her team. We understand Nicki’s position and look forward to continuing our dialogue with her. Finally, we apologize to all of her fans. This should have never happened.” Can’t wait to hear what Onika has to say about all this on the next episode of Queen Radio. Y’all listening?
Source: Kevin Mazur / Getty We told y’all the Grammys get no love in certain Hip-Hop circles. Although Drake won a Grammy for Best Rap Song, he used his acceptance speech to shade the organization. Drizzy actually picked up his hardware (he won for “God’s Plan”) in person, while acts like Jay-Z and Childish Gambino (who won Song of the Year for “This Is America”) were no-shows to the 61st Annual GRAMMY Awards. The Toronto rapper sent a message to the kids aspiring to do music, and his peers who make music from the heart, from the stage at the Staples Center. “We play in an opinion-based sport, not a factual-based sport,” said Drake. “So it’s not the NBA where at the end of the year you’re holding a trophy because you made the right decisions or won the games. This is a business where sometimes it’s up to a bunch of people that might not understand what a mixed race kid from Canada has to say or a fly Spanish girl from New York or anywhere else.” He added, “My point is, you’ve already won if you have people who are singing your songs word for word, if you’re a hero in your hometown. Look, if there’s people who have regular jobs who are coming out in the rain, in the snow, spending their hard earned money to buy tickets to come to your shows, you don’t need this right here. I promise you, you already won.” Where is the lie? Everyone at the #GRAMMYs is a winner tonight according to @Drake . pic.twitter.com/sQ1NqKXQ7m — CBS (@CBS) February 11, 2019 — Photo Getty
The drama between Leida Margaretha and her husband’s daughter has reached a new high. Or perhaps a new low , depending on how you view it. All we know for certain is this: it’s reached the legal system for certain. On Friday, Leida came face-to-face in a Wisconsin courtroom with Tasha, the 19-year old daughter of her husband, Eric. According to Leida’s attorney, Tasha was subsequently ordered to stay away from Leida not just physically, but even virtually as well. This is to say, Tasha cannot say anything on social media that antagonizes the 90 Day Fiance star, who made her polarizing presence felt on many occasions during this past season of the Lifetime program. The injunction is in place for the next four years — but it does not apply to Eric, who can see his daughter whenever he chooses to do so. Leida’s VERY tumultuous relationship with her stepdaughter was documented throughout season 6 of 90 Day Fiance. For one thing, Tasha actually lived with her dad until Leida threatened to leave Eric unless he gave the teenager the boot. As you might expect, this move angered Tasha greatly, considering her dad got engaged to the Leida just two days after meeting her. Tasha later revealed that she has not spoken to her father since he chose basically a stranger over his own flesh and blood. “I can fake a smile. I can fake being friendly. But you know what I can’t fake? I can’t fake the years, heartbreak, and anxiety attacks,” Tasha wrote on her Instagram Story in January. She added at the time: “I can’t fake keeping people up at night because I’m so hurt I’m physically SCREAMING as the tears stream down my face. “I can’t fake going to the hospital for stressing myself so sick and being so depressed I stopped eating for almost two weeks. “I can’t fake ripping my hair out and punching my desk because I don’t get what I did to deserve this. So please. NONE of you know anything. “So stop acting like you do.” Last month, Leida tried to extend an olive branch to Tasha, but she went about it in immature fashion, having Eric read a statement on Instagram Live that said “please reach Tasha, tell her you love her. “Tell her I care about her. Tell her I am sorry … I am sorry for what I’ve done to her.” This didn’t exactly succeed in smoothing things over, however. Elsewhere, the relationship between Eric and Leida, has been rocky and ugly from the start as well. Everyone pretty much hates these two, although some critics have very clearly crossed a line. In an Instagram video shared this past December, the newlyweds said t hey were quitting 90 Day Fiance because they had allegedly received death treats. Just a few weeks later, police responded to the pair’s home after Leida claimed Eric pulled her hair “really hard” and “grabbed a knife.” For his part, the former marine claimed that he was trying to “wrestle [the] knife from” his wife because she was threatening self-harm. We’re not about to take sides here, but Leida has admitted in the recent past to struggling with her mental health. “I’m getting [too] emotional because my family keeps saying I’m crazy,” she said at one point, adding: “I’m crazy and I’m not supposed to get anxiety and I’m not supposed to get depression. I just can’t win them all. We are [sic] all need to do a public apology. And I still need to do the counseling.” In this same social media post, she said the following about her stepdaughter, who is pictured above. “Tasha and I [are] supposed to be a best friend [sic] because we have so many things in common. She needs to realize that. We both can help each other. “I just want Tasha to stop living in denial. Back to reality. All those people use her story to tear us apart. Real queens fix each other’s crowns.”
N early 12 years ago Camden, New Jersey native Carmen Day sat in a courtroom before New Jersey Superior Court Judge Charles Dortch awaiting her sentence for a minor offense that she committed. Day—who was 17-years-old at the time—pled with Judge Dortch to have her sentence reduced and promised to become a lawyer in the future. According to Black News , she kept her word and is close to bringing her promise to fruition. This Black judge gave a teenager a second chance 12 years ago, and now she's about to graduate from law school! #blackexcellence #blackgirlmagic #blackgirlsrock https://t.co/ieIyl7rtRD — Black News (@BlackNews) February 5, 2019 Prior to her brush with the law, Day aspired to go to college and law school, the news outlet writes. After she was granted a shorter probation sentence by Judge Dortch, Day got on the right track and is now finishing up her last semester at Rutgers Law School. She says she wouldn’t have been able to get to this point if it weren’t for Dortch giving her a chance to right her wrongs. “He didn’t see me as a docket number, or some poor girl from Camden,” said Day in a statement. “He saw me as a girl who needed help, who needed a chance.” Day—now a married mother of two—hopes that her journey will inspire other individuals who have been in similar situations. “You are not what happened to you. You are what you choose to become,” she said. Dortch and Day were reunited when she and other law school students visited the courthouse where he worked. “She really stuck out in my mind,” Dortch told NJ.com . “I saw a lot of perseverance in her face.” He also added that seeing her rise up, overcome her situation, and turn her life around for the better made his career. Source: paras griffin / Getty When it was announced that some of the biggest artists of the 2000’s were going on tour together, there were lots of acts that fans felt were missing from the roster — and Sammie was one of them. The 31-year old singer recently spoke to The Shade Room about the highly anticipated tour and how he feels about not being apart of it: “No one reached out to me. No one reached out to my management. So I have to believe that they feel a way about the new success and love that I’m getting. Like intimidated. I love everybody, I’m all about peace, light and love. I think that they see the resurrection of my career and how organic it is. And I’m a hard act to go before and after.” Okay den! Do you think Sammie has a point?
