Source: Nagina Lane / iONEDigital Tommie Lee is visibly nervous as she takes her seat in the conference room where our interview is set to take place. She is clad in a lace bodysuit with fabric wing like apparatuses lining her arms and silhouette. The custom-made piece is how we’re used to seeing her — flamboyant and over-the-top. Her eyes aren’t hidden behind sunglasses. A clear sign she’s sober. “I wouldn’t consider myself an alcoholic. I’ve gone to rehab. I’ve been 4 months sober now.” We applaud the former Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star. “I probably started drinking more filming the show,” says Tommie. “Dealing with family issues with my mom. That caused a lot of my stressors. It’s been my way to cope for a minute,” she admitted. Tommie’s drinking has seemingly been the source of her legal issues, but if you let her tell it, she’s not drinking because she’s an alcoholic. She’s drinking to cope with profound issues. Molested by her uncle; in and out of juvenile centers for running away at a young age; and a strained and toxic relationship with her mother have all contributed to Tommie’s dysfunction. “After seeing myself after the seasons and seeing how, in my real life, I just couldn’t deal to a certain extent because it was a lot of things hitting me at once, [drinking] was like a tranquilizer.” Source: Nagina Lane / iONEDigital She admits her fault in many of the situations we’ve seen play out in front of our eyes. “I’m not the victim, I’m usually the villain in the situation.” On January 7, 2019, Tommie was indicted on child abuse charges when it was reported she drunkenly “bashed” her daughters head into a school locker. The report, compounded with numerous jail stints and an abundance of mug shots, heightened the negative narrative surrounding the TV personality and fans, who supported her ready to throw in the proverbial towel. In layman’s terms, we were rooting for you took physical form. “Everything in that report was untrue,” says Tommie. “Physical abuse is the last form of punishment for children in my household. I can count the times I had to be physical with my children on my hand because I could take their phone or put them on punishment. We have a good relationship.” But when Tommie’s 11-year-old daughter, an honor roll student, began getting in trouble at school, she panicked. It felt too familiar despite her sacrifices in life to give her children what she never had. Prior to the incident that led to her arrest, Tommie reveals her daughter had gotten ahold of edible marijuana treats, which she distributed to her classmates. Tommie received a call that students had to be hospitalized because they were high. She immediately lawyered up to prevent her daughter from facing further legal trouble. “I’m scared as hell,” she reveals. “Nobody said anything for a while then I got a letter in the mail from the police that the state was charging my daughter. I have a juvenile record for running away because my mother’s living conditions were f*cked up. Basically we lived in a shelter — my mom, her boyfriend and my family, she has seven kids. I was in high school. I was embarrassed. I used to get off the school bus at the apartments by the hotel next to us because I didn’t want anyone to know I was living in a hotel.” Her daughter’s brush with the law was triggering and Tommie handled it the most effective way she knew how. “I know what affected me the most when I was younger, me getting my ass whooped in school. I was chopping up chalk and saying it was coke and that my parents sold drugs and I was a dealer. My mother came to school and beat my a** in front of the whole gym and I knew I ain’t never want her to come back up to that school.” Prior to the incident in question, Tommie took her daughter on a road trip and had a heart-to-heart with the pre-teen. “I had a talk with my daughter that weekend, like ‘You have to do good. We got the lawyer but you can’t mess up at all. He’s going to make this go away but you can’t do anything bad, which I thought was understood.” That Tuesday, Tommie received another call and popped up at her daughter’s school to find her “lolligagging and laughing” in the nurses office. After refusing to take her teacher out of fear of being embarrassed, Tommie said she reacted. “I took her hoodie and I jacked her up against the locker.” She added, “I’m the last person who’s going to hurt my kids.” Following the incident, a resource officer took a warrant out on Tommie. She was later rearrested for “stalking” after her daughter told police she had been in contact with her. “My daughter thought she was helping me,” she explains. When asked if she had seen her mom, her daughter lied and said she had cooked her breakfast that morning. Technically, though a lie, it was a violation of her bond order. She was arrested again. “This situation really hurt me” she says fighting back tears. “It hurt my family.” Rehab allowed Tommie to self-reflect. While she doesn’t consider her relationship with alcohol on the level of others in treatment, it held a mirror up to her battle with depression. She realized “You have a real good chance to do something with your life and you can lose it all with one mistake.” Since being released just a week ago, Tommie says she’s focused on her music. “It’s therapy for me. I have a lot of truth in there. I have club sh*t you can vibe to. It’s a release for me My EP is coming soon. We’re going to finish what we started before all this happened. I have a song with Anthony Hamilton called Truth out now. She is also promoting her documentary that was originally supposed to chronicle the road to her EP. Instead it captured her during a turbulent time in her life. Watch it, here . As for returning to Love & Hip Hop Atlanta, Tommie is taking time for herself but would love to fight the narrative she built on TV with TV. “I appreciate the support from everybody.” RELATED STORIES *Update* Tommie Apologizes For Drunken Antics: ‘I Need Help And I Am Currently Seeking Treatment’ You OK Sis? Figurines Of White Cherub Crushing Head Of Black Angel Removed From Dollar Store Ty James reportedly brought property for $2 million and had a housewarming party that upset her new neighbors. WSB-TV reports one resident named Amy Baker complained, “We called the police and told them there were people walking through the neighborhood with open containers of alcohol and with drugs. And they told us they could not do anything about that. They said, ‘We have to see it.’” Another resident named Katherine Schendel said, “There was a lot of seminudity and drugs and alcohol out in the streets. There were cars parked all up and down our street. On both sides of our street, potentially blocking emergency vehicles from getting through.” She also claimed to have “checked and the county does not show a permit for a public event at the house.” The next party is allegedly scheduled for Labor Day, which they want to stop. “We’re concerned about our property values. They don’t need to be walking down the middle of the street in thongs and smoking dope,” Schendel said. Gwinnett police are meeting with residents and looking into their complaints. 11 Alive reports, “The owner of the property, Ty James, said no one was arrested, and there was no reason to call police. Some people never pick the grocery item at the front, always choosing to grab something behind it. Those people are looking pretty smart right now. A viral video shocked the nation last week when a girl filmed herself licking ice cream in a grocery store .. and then putting it back on the shelf. Police have identified the prankster, but that's only part of the problem. … Someone at Blue Bell Ice Cream HQ must have found a cursed monkey's paw and wished “I hope that people go viral while enjoying our product.” Last week, a video made the rounds on social media. In the video, a young woman can be seen in a frozen section of a grocery store. There, she removes the lid from a carton of Blue Bell Ice Cream, licks the surface of the ice cream, and then replaces the lid. To the world's horror, she then places the carton back in the freezer. During the video, it sounds like a man — presumably the cameraman — is egging her on. “Lick it,” the voice is heard saying. “Awww, you're foul!” “Put it back, put it back, put it back,” the voice then encourages her. The carton is then replaces for some unsuspecting customer to purchase, take home, and possibly consume. July is a hell of a time to ruin the very concept of ice cream for everyone. After some initial confusion after a catfish Instagram account claimed responsibility, police believe that they have identified the culprit. The girl in question is only 17 years old and is from San Antonio. She was 300 miles to the east, in Lufkin, Texas. She was visiting her boyfriend at the time, and police say that she and the boyfriend have cooperated with them about the incident. While it will be up to prosecutors and the court to determine what comes next, what happened on video is a crime. She may face a second-degree felony charge of tampering with a consumer product. That could land a perpetrator in prison for 2-to-20 years, though her status as a minor and her cooperative attitude may help her avoid that fate. Countless ice cream tubs have been removed from shelves out of an abundance of caution following this incident. It has brought to people's attention that Blue Bell Ice Cream does not have a tangible seal. Rather, Blue Bell has explained that the way that the ice cream is frozen and boxed is designed to form a natural seal. That's great, but a one-time removable seal might prevent someone from digging into ice cream that has been licked by a stranger. Some have called upon Blue Bell to change their packaging. Why do people want the packaging changed even though the lone perpetrator was caught? In part because they fear this happening again. And those fears may hold some degree of validity — as a number of copycat incidents have been filmed. Some are calling this the “Ice cream challenge,” as people film themselves licking ice cream for clout. However, as with the Tide Pod Challenge before it, there is something that people should know about these copycat videos. See, the majority of these videos that you'll see if you look up ice cream lickers are … well, they're fake. You can buy an ice cream, film yourself licking it in the aisle, put it in the freezer, and then remove it when you stop filming. Store employees may be annoyed with you, but that doesn't really sound like a crime. It's always good to remember that not everything that you see on the internet is really happening. Unfortunately, there are always a few people who not only believe that it's all real, but that they should be the next ones to try it out. You know what's a great dessert all throughout the year? Pie. Maybe just eat some pie, and give ice cream a break for a few weeks.
Source: Regina Wagner/Future Image/WENN.com / WENN The Divorce Between Jeff And MacKenzie Bezos Is Official Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos is officially divorced from his wife of more than 25 years, MacKenzie, after a Washington State judge signed off on the divorce. According to reports from Bloomberg , the arrangement leaves MacKenzie with 19.7 million shares of Amazon.com, valued at more than $38 billion. Even after parting with billions of dollars, Jeff will still remain the world’s richest person, while the divorce settlement makes his now ex-wife the third-wealthiest female billionaire in the world. These two got married in 1993, long before Amazon’s creation, and have four children together. Their marriage publicly collapsed after news broke back in January that Jeff had been allegedly cheating on his wife with former television anchor Lauren Sanchez. The story exploded into the public eye after racy text messages between the two were published by multiple media outlets. Following the media storm, Bezos published an open letter on Medium accusing American Media, the parent company of the National Enquirer, of trying to blackmail him–but, of course, that didn’t undo what damage had already been done. It’s safe to say both parties will do juuuust fine following the divorce, at least money-wise. View this post on Instagram Kirk or Picard?
