Kenya Moore was beaten up by Porsha Williams during the filming of the latest Real Housewives of Atlanta reunion show, and while that may be the worst thing to happen to Kenya that day, it wasn’t the only time she was made a victim. According to reports taken by the police officers who were called following the Moore-Williams fight, Kenya and her friend Lawrence were robbed of several thousand dollars worth of belongings including Kenya’s luggage and laptop. Nothing was taken from the dressing rooms of any of the other Housewives. Naturally, there has been much speculation that the burglars were in some way connected to Porsha. This, of course, is not the first or worst crime connected to RHOA today. Earlier, Apollo Nida pled guilty to fraud and could face several years in federal prison. Kenya has not yet commented on the robbery, but we wouldn’t be surprised if this latest misfortune has factored into her rumored decision to quit Real Housewives of Atlanta to attend Harvard . Black Honor Student Arrested For Studying Late In Library A 21-year-old college honor student got an unexpected and unwarranted “surprise” while staying after hours at the library to study. via WRAL Na’eem Wilkins is not someone whose Shaw University classmates would expect to see in handcuffs. But such was the predicament Wilkins, 21, a honor student and drum major for the school band, found himself in after refusing to leave the university library after it closed at 11 p.m. “He was like, ‘Can I have an extra ten minutes just to finish this exam,’” said Tina Akunwafor, a Shaw student who was in the library when Wilkins was arrested. “He was calm. It wasn’t like he created a ruckus or he was arguing back and forth. She just said ‘I’m going to call security’ and after that the police came and arrested him.” Wilkins, who was charged with second degree trespassing, was allowed to stay in the library 30 minutes after closing but did not leave afterwards, said Odessa Hines, university spokesman. “It’s unfortunate that he allowed the situation to escalate to that point,” she said. “I think obviously we never want to have to arrest a student, ever, on our campus.” Students, who held a demonstration in support of Wilkins, want the charges dropped against him and longer library hours. A Texas teacher, Heather Lynn Miller, is facing felony charges after she was allegedly caught in a portable classroom trailer with an underage student. Texas Teacher Accused of Inappropriate Relationship With 14-Year-Old Miller was arrested Sunday night after a campus security guard at Katy Junior H.S. found the 46-year-old with a 14-year-old male during a routine patrol. Miller was allegedly “engaging in an inappropriate relationship” with the student, according to a statement released by the Katy Independent School District. KPRC reports that Miller answered the door to the temporary classroom, telling the guard “everything was fine.” Suspicious, the guard looked past her. What he saw was a 14-year-old student getting dressed. Police aren’t discussing details of the case; Miller, who taught social studies, was placed on administrative leave pending the outcome of the investigation. Only in Florida. Man Arrested For Lewd Acts Behind The Wheel Guess since he couldn’t text and drive he had to find something to do with his hands. According to NY Daily News: Cory Evans, 22, was charged with indecent exposure after police said he masturbated while driving and harassed a trucker on a Florida interstate, TCPalm.com reports. The Boca Raton man was arrested around 1 a.m. on April 14. Florida Highway Patrol officers got a call from a semi-truck driver who claimed a nekked motorist was following him and masturbating. The two were traveling down a stretch of I-95 in Port St. Lucie. According to the police report, the truck driver told police Evans, nekked in a Buick, “seemed to be enticing him and harassing him.” The trucker also noted that Evans was “masturbating with the interior dome light on so he could be easily seen.” When officers pulled Evans over, he was clothed, but his pants were unzipped. Troopers said he denied masturbating and driving nekked but also gave conflicting answers to their questions. Evans was taken to a local jail where he was booked on indecent exposure charges. SMH. LAPD Caught Removing Squad Car Recording Devices In Black Neighborhoods via Kulture Kritic Some LAPD officers have taken matters into their own hands by removing their antennas from police cars in predominantly black areas. Why? Because they don’t want to be monitored while being on duty. When news first broke about this move, members of the Police Commission were alarmed and wanted to know why this was happening. In addition to this, they wanted to know how long this has been going on and who authorized this move. In a review of what transpired, it was concluded that ‘half of the 80 cars in the Southeast division—which includes Watts and the Jordan Downs and Nickerson Gardens housing projects—were missing the antennas that help capture what officers say in the field. The review discovered at least 10 more cars in nearby divisions also had antennas removed.’ Steve Soboroff, President of the commission stated that this issue should have been brought to their attention and made available by those officers. The antennas are used for the safety of the officers and the public. LAPD Chief Charlie Beck responded that it was not the intent of the LAPD to hide this information from the commission. With so many officers, it was difficult to ascertain which officers were committing the infraction. A warning was issued to officers about removing their antennas. Here’s what you need to know: “Officers wear small transmitters on their belts that relay their voices back to the antennas in the patrol car. Sgt. Dan Gomez, a department expert on recording devices, told the Times that regardless of whether they are in front of the camera, officers’ voices can be recorded hundreds of yards away from the car—but that distance is severely curtailed by as much as a third without the antennas.” Shuttesrtock
