Dear Bossip , Let me start by saying that I love your honesty…. Now! I have been seeing someone for 6 years on and off. He tells me that he loves me, but because I had an abortion when we were 21 years old he states, “He cannot trust me.” I do everything for this man and provide him with the three F’S – (FEED, F**k, and help him financially when he needs it.) No! We do not live together, but when we did I took care of the rent since I make more money than him. He says he wants to settle back down and get married but I have to prove myself to him. Well, it has been 5 years since the abortion and I have shown so many signs that I am a good woman. I work, cook, and clean. When I am not around him I know in my heart he is with somebody else. His mother told me that he loves me and talks about me all the time. We also do everything with his family as if we are together. His fear is once I get another title with him that I will revert back to my old ways. But I was young back when we first started dating and I am not the only one that has messed up in the course of our relationship. My question is do you think he is just stringing me along until he finds something better? I’ve met great guys but I did not give them an opportunity because I’ve felt like I owe him because of the abortion. This is why I am confused I don’t understand why he is making everything so difficult. Yes!! I feel bad for the mistake I made 5 years ago and I’ve spoken to GOD for forgiveness. – Trying To Be His Wife Dear Ms. Trying To Be His Wife , Chile, you have truly fallen and bumped your big a** head! The hell is wrong with you trying to prove yourself to a man!?! And, you’re providing the three F’s and you’re not even married?? And, you make more money than him, and he needs help financially? Chile, I wish I might! You let him fix his mouth to say to you that you have to prove yourself to him before you get married because he doesn’t trust you. And, it’s been five years, and he’s still talking that bull-ish! Girl, please back all the way the hell up from me! Ladies, ladies, ladies you should not be trying to prove any damn thing to any damn body!!! If he can’t take you as you are, and love you for you, and you’re doing everything for him, but he wants to throw up in your face about something you did when you were younger, then kicked that a**hole to the curb and move on with your life. When a man tells you that you have to prove yourself to him then please note that he will never, and has no plans or intentions on marrying you or settling down with you. He will forever hold it against you what you did IN YOUR PAST! But, here’s the kicker, he wants you to forgive him and forget what he did in his past. All the abuse, cheating, lying, deceiving, and manipulating he wants you to just forget about it and let it go, and your simple a**es do it and let him come back only for him to do it again. SMDH! Girl, don’t ever make someone a priority in your life when you clearly are an option in theirs! And, your boyfriend does not love you. If he loved you he would forgive you and move on. If he loved you he wouldn’t be holding what you did in your past over your head. If he loved you he would be doing everything in his power to make sure that you felt his love, and he would marry you and he would be looking to start over and have a family with you. It shouldn’t have taken him five years to decide or figure if he wants to marry you. It does not take five years for him to come to some conclusion that you’re trustworthy and won’t revert back to your old ways. And, what the hell is this mofo talking about “revert back to your old ways.” Are you freaking kidding me??? What about him reverting back to his old ways?? Honey, you are so caught up in trying to prove yourself to him that you are overlooking your instincts which tell you that he is seeing someone else. Stop letting him cloud your judgment and second guess yourself. Stop letting him play on your self-esteem and emotions. He is taking advantage of you and the situation, and he’s got you sitting over their looking like a backwoods Opie with a special helmet on your head. Stop acting and being dumb! It’s not cute or attractive. Until you get a backbone, and put on your big girl panties and confront him like a woman he will keep playing you like the little girl you’re acting like who keeps trying to prove something to some adult. Tell his a** he needs to prove himself as a husband and get on his J-O-B! He needs to be out-earning you income. You shouldn’t be taking care of the finances of the home, and holding him down consistently. He needs to step up and be a damn man! And, until then, you remove yourself from him and the situation, and start dating other guys. Get yourself a make-over with all the money you’ve been doling out on him. Get a new wardrobe, and a new hair-do. It’s time to reclaim your life and power and stop giving it to someone else. It’s all about you, and you’ve to recognize this or he will wear you down and out and leave you. Besides, when he sees you doing your thing, and moving on from him, he will turn his behind around and come back pleading and begging you to take him back. By Josh Wigler, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Andrew Garfield in “Amazing Spider-Man” Photo: Among his many powers, Spider-Man has one “Amazing” gift that perhaps you don’t already know about: He is a skilled skateboarder. Andrew Garfield, the British actor filling out Peter Parker’s shoes in director Marc Webb’s “Amazing Spider-Man,” brought many ideas to the superhero reboot’s table, including his character’s proficiency with a skateboard. Speaking with MTV News, Garfield said that “a lot changed” over the course of shooting “Spider-Man,” including his very own idea to have Spidey wield a board at numerous points throughout the movie. “It was my idea that this iteration of Peter would skateboard, maybe because I skateboarded when I was a kid, and it’s something personal to me,” the actor said at the “Amazing Spider-Man” press junket. “It linked in so nicely with being able to activate the powers in a new way.” Garfield teamed up with director Spike Jonze’s Girl and Chocolate Skateboards and persuaded the powers that be to include scenes of Peter messing around with skateboards, adding some levity to an otherwise “heavy” script. “What’s always been important about Spider-Man to me is the lightness, the humor and the enjoyment of a teenage kid getting these powers. In reality, what would happen?” he said. “We pitched the idea to [the Spider-Man producers] and they shot it. I thought that was awesome.” Another scene that changed due to Garfield’s input: the infamous carjacking sequence that sees Peter in full Spidey regalia for the first time, webbing up and taunting a criminal with lots of laughs and very little restraint. “That was important to me, in terms of the humor, the wit, finding the power of anonymity,” he said. “That was a fun night, because it was all improvised and free. There was nothing scripted about that. Not only did the 16-year-old Chicago MC sign a record deal with Interscope, he also got a chance to perform at Birthday Bash in front of 20,000 ATL rap fans. Keef was one of T.I. ‘s many special guests, which included Usher, Lil Wayne and Young Jeezy. Backstage, Tip gave the youngster the ultimate co-sign. “Chief Keef, I feel like he represents a part of America,” T.I. told MTV News. “He represents a part of the youth in America that ain’t really got a voice right now. We looking at ’em, and we’re seeing the results of their actions, but we ain’t really listening to ’em, and I think you gotta have a representative of each generation in order to understand what they dealing with.” Because of his power in the rap game, Tip feels it’s his responsibility to try to understand and help young rappers. Keef garnered a ton of attention thanks to underground standout tracks “I Don’t Like” and “3 Hunna.” The former is a gritty street track that denounces snitching and fake True Religion jeans. The song’s video has already amassed more than 6 million views on YouTube and caught the attention of Kanye West, who, along with Keef, Pusha T, Big Sean and Jadakiss, remixed the track. A number of industry executives have expressed interest in signing the young rapper. Birdman was vocal about courting the young spitter, but it was Interscope that presented the best offer. “They was talking good to me,” he told RapFix. “They was talking like I was talking, and I liked that. All these other labels, I was talking to ’em, but it’s time anyway for me, and I’m going with Interscope.” T.I. said there was an opportunity for Keef to join his Grand Hustle family, but he respects the young rapper’s decision. Tip is just happy that the go-getter was able to make a way for himself. “The opportunity existed, but I never put my own personal wishes before the best interest of the next person,” T.I. said. “I’m just happy that he’s able to do whatever’s best for him and his family and to move forward as a person and to progress in life. On Wednesday night, Drake visited Sin City Cabaret in the Bronx, New York, for Maybach Music Group’s Self Made Vol. 2 listening session, after which he revealed exclusively to DJ Scoob Doo’s new website BreadOverBed that he had a few surprises in store for his New York show. “They f—ed up Summer Jam, so I’m just gonna do Summer Jam how it’s supposed to go,” Drake told Scoob, referencing Lil Wayne’s decision to pull Young Money out of the show’s lineup after offensive remarks were directed toward Nicki Minaj. “I’ve got everyone you would want to see, plus people that you wouldn’t expect to see.” Thus far, Drake’s tour roster includes Meek Mill, 2 Chainz, J. Cole, Waka Flocka Flame and French Montana, not to mention guest appearances from T.I., Rick Ross and Future, so it seems likely that additional members from his YMCMB family will join him on the bill Saturday. During a heated radio interview with Hot 97 DJ Funkmaster Flex following her canceled Summer Jam set, Minaj promised fans that she would do a free show in New York to make up for the disappointment. And when the video for the Good Kid in a Mad City track drops, the Compton native will be giving the world a taste of his own brand of “California Love.” Kendrick filmed his video for “The Recipe” at a mansion in the Los Angeles last month, and after performing the single at the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee last week, he explained his vision behind the clip. “I felt like there hasn’t been that ‘California Love’-type feel since the ’90s, and I really wanted to display that and represent where I’m from,” he told MTV News. “So I had a whole bunch of beautiful women, good weather — it was like 85 degrees and breezy — and we had [ScHoolboy] Q up in there stealing some of Snoop’s weed, him and Ab-Soul, and we had fun.” If Kendrick is hoping to tap into the nostalgia of Tupac’s infamous 1995 track “California Love,” it helps that he’s got two of the original California legends in his corner: Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. “The Recipe” will boast his most extravagant visuals to date, and the 25-year-old rap prodigy is ready to take his career to another level. “We’re here to spread this music all across the world,” he said. “It started in my backyard, in Compton, and now I’m fittin’ to take it to the next level and take it worldwide because I feel like the world needs to hear this. By Rob Markman Nas Photo: MTV News No doubt, Nas versus Jay-Z was rap’s most intriguing battle. Even though the artists have made peace, there is something about the legendary clash of the lyrical titans that piques the interest of rap fans, even though more than a decade has passed. Earlier this month, a video titled “Nas Hanging Jay-Z” popped up on YouTube, giving a behind-the-scenes look at the over-the-top stunt God’s Son had planned for Hot 97’s 2002 Summer Jam concert . Before he pulled out of the all-star hip-hop concert, Nas had plotted to perform a mock lynching of his then-rival Jay-Z onstage, but these days, the Queens, New York, rap legend does not want to feed into the negativity. “I really don’t even want to acknowledge it,” Nas told MTV News on Tuesday. “Everybody’s in a different place. I don’t even want to acknowledge it. I can’t acknowledge that. Jay’s my man, and that’s that, that’s all I’m gonna say.” You can imagine Nas’ difficulty with the subject considering he and Hov buried the hatchet years ago, but back in 2002, things were rocky, to say the least. A year after Jay-Z debuted his Mobb Deep and Nas dis track “Takeover,” Nas aimed to return the favor with an attack of his own on Hot 97’s storied Summer Jam stage. Things didn’t work out as planned: Once the radio station caught wind of Nas’ intentions, it put constraints on his performance and he pulled out of the show. The recently unearthed video documented the creation of an animatronic Jay-Z figure that Nas wanted to hang and the gallows from which he planned to hang the figure. Nas did not appear in the clip, but it was edited with his 2001 track “What Goes Around” playing in the background. It was the hottest story in rap at the time, but 10 years later, it comes off as a moot point. In 2005, Nas and Jay-Z squashed their beef onstage at Power 105.1’s Power House concert in New Jersey, and then a year later, God’s Son signed to Def Jam Records , where Jay held a position as label president. The two have since collaborated on a number of songs, including “Success,” “Black President” and Ludacris’ “I Do It for Hip-Hop.” Should Nas acknowledge the recently unearthed video?
