NYC Women Arrested For Trying To Smuggle Narcotics Through Airport Security Two NYC women were arrested at JFK airport yesterday after a failed attempt to smuggle some “booger sugar” through the security checkpoint by hiding it in their luxurious lady locks. via The Grio Kiana Howell and Makeeba Graham came in to New York through a Caribbean Airlines Flight 526 from Georgetown, Guyana on Sunday. The nervous demeanor of the pair alerted airport security officers, which prompted them to search the two women. The officers discovered conspicuous bumps on their scalps, and proceeded to take them to the airport’s medical center. Health workers at the medical center found and removed 996 grams of “booger sugar” from Howell’s weave, and another 1,046 grams from Ms. Graham’s weave. Ladies….(and we use that term very loosely)……let’s do better. SMH.

Another day, another sexuality reveal. Today it’s former Pirates owner, Kevin McClatchy… Via ESPN: Kevin McClatchy, the owner and CEO of the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1996 to 2007, has acknowledged he is gay to The New York Times, saying frequent homophobic slurs he heard in baseball circles had convinced him to keep his sexual orientation a secret. McClatchy, an heir to a newspaper chain who sold his shares of the Pirates in 2009 only after ensuring that the club remained in Pittsburgh, said the time had finally come to speak openly about his sexuality. “You’re not going to solve any problem until you start a dialogue,” McClatchy told The Times for an op-ed story published in Sunday’s editions. “And there’s no dialogue right now.” McClatchy will also be the subject of Wednesday’s “Outside The Lines” (3 p.m. ET on ESPN). “I’ve got a birthday coming up where I’m turning old,” McClatchy, who will turn 50 in January, told The Times. “I’ve spent 30 years — or whatever the number is specifically — not talking about my personal life, lying about my personal life.” McClatchy, 49, is not the first major-league executive or former executive to come out as gay. Rick Welts, the president and chief executive officer of the Phoenix Suns, revealed his sexuality last year. “This has been challenging to me,” McClatchy told The Times of his decision to reveal his sexual orientation. “I probably didn’t sleep as well as I could have last night.” McClatchy boasted of baseball’s ending of racial segregation in sports while saying he didn’t think players considered it similar to one of their own coming out as gay.
Mitt Romney and his wife, Ann Romney, released their 2011 tax returns today. Spoiler alerts: They’re still really rich, and Democrats will call for him to release more! They paid $1.94 million in federal income taxes on income of $13.7 million, most of it from investments, for an effective tax rate of 14.1 percent, his campaign said. That’s slightly above the 13.9 percent rate the couple paid for 2010. The Republican presidential candidate’s taxes have emerged as an ongoing issue in the 2012 election, as he has declined to release any returns filed before 2010. Romney’s fortune and association with Bain Capital, the private equity firm he co-founded, have been lightning rods in his bid to unseat President Barack Obama. Critics, including Obama, have urged Romney to release more than just the two years of returns; for whatever reason, he has indicated he does not plan to do so. It’s been kind of a tough week for Mitt, with his 47 percent comment going viral, and even a surprising story about his eldest son Tagg Romney emerging today. What do you think? This thing is gettin’ super ugly… Muslim People In Islamabad Gather To Protest “Innocence Of Muslims” According to the BBC/UK Demonstrators who gathered outside the US embassy in Islamabad to protest against an amateur video mocking Islam have begun to disperse peacefully. The Pakistani authorities had earlier called on the army as police struggled to contain the crowd of thousands with tear gas and live rounds. Some protesters had said they would not leave the diplomatic enclave until the US embassy was on fire. Protests over the film, Innocence of Muslims, have claimed several lives. It was made in the US and is said to insult the Prophet Muhammad. Streets leading to the enclave, where most of the embassies are housed, were earlier blocked off by shipping containers in an effort to increase security. Police had no control of the situation as angry protesters burned President Obama in effigy as people threw missles and other objects at authorites. One protester in particular was heard saying: “The infidel who produced the movie should be hanged, or hand over him to the Muslims. And we don’t want any (US) diplomat or embassy in Pakistan: all relations should be cut off.” Despite all the ire, the BBC correspondent says the protest appeared to end without incident. The BBC’s Aleem Maqbool in Islamabad, who did not see any evidence of the army at the scene, said the protest was “turned out like a light”. He said it was amazing, given the strength of feeling at the the protest earlier, that the crowd left as peacefully as it did. He says the area is still shrouded in tear gas. The “Basketball Wives” beauty took to Twitter to thank God for another year… Then she took to the NYC streets to celebrate with friends. Monday night Jennifer Williams celebrated her birthday with a dinner at Millesime, the seafood brasserie at The Carlton Hotel in NYC. The former star of VH1’s “Basketball Wives” and ex-wife of NBA star Eric Williams, she was joined by friends Including Al Reynolds, Isaiah Washington and Angela Yee, among others. The group started off the dinner with the restaurant’s Caesar grille salad and enjoyed pan roasted chicken breast and tuna steak as mains with sides of creamed spinach and broccolini. The couple held the event at Jay-Z’s 40/40 club, and tickets cost $40,000 per head. “I can’t tell you how proud we are to host tonight’s event with President Obama,” Beyonce, 30, said while introducing Obama, 51. “We believe in his vision.” After taking the stage, Obama joked that wife First Lady Michelle Obama and their girls Sasha, 11, and Malia, 14, were “mad at me because they aren’t here.” “To J and B, thank you so much for your friendship,” Obama told his hosts. “Beyonce could not be a better role model for my girls.” Obama also joked that he and 42-year-old rapper Jay-Z — who welcomed his first child, daughter Blue Ivy, in January 2012 — have a lot in common. “We both have daughters and our wives are more popular than we are,” he said. “So, you know, we’ve got a little bond there.
