Charlize Theron Commends Kristen Stewart For Being ‘Authentic’

‘When she says ‘I don’t give a f—,’ she means that,’ the ‘Snow White and the Huntsman’ actress tells MTV News. By Fallon Prinzivalli, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Charlize Theron Photo: MTV News For two people who seem so different, Kristen Stewart and Charlize Theron have great offscreen chemistry. In our “MTV First: Snow White and the Huntsman,” they made each other laugh with their comments and played off each other’s answers — like when Stewart described Theron in three words, saying, “I want you,” and Theron replied, “You got it,” and spread her legs apart. When MTV News’ Josh Horowitz caught up with the “Young Adult” actress, she chalked up their friendship to the age-old “opposites attract” phenomenon, saying that what specifically attracts her to Stewart is her genuine personality. “The first thing I noticed about her was when she says ‘I don’t give a f—,’ she means that,” Theron said. “She’s not just trying to be cool. She’s not trying to be edgy. She’s very, very authentic, and that’s what I like about her.” The two actresses star in an original adaptation of the classic fairy tale “Snow White,” which follows the princess as she fights alongside the Huntsman to reclaim her kingdom from the evil Queen Ravenna. The film hits theaters June 1, and Theron got to know Stewart as they worked on the project together. “I think that there’s an incredible girl there,” Theron said. “And I like that she’s so different because I think that it’s authentic — and there’s nothing I despise more than people trying to be something that they’re not. And all these, kind of, quirks that she has, they’re authentic to who she is and she’s not putting it on, she’s not trying to do it. She’s just really who she is.” While the “Twilight” actress has received bad press in the past when people mistook her timid nature for rudeness or conceit, her co-star had nothing but praise for her character. “You know, a lot of people at that age can still be [finding themselves]. And of course she’s still going to be finding herself in certain [ways], but I’m pretty impressed with where she is already at her very young age,” Theron said. “And I have so much respect for someone who can just authentically be themselves.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Snow White and the Huntsman.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . For Discussion: Documentary “Dear Daddy” Demands Fathers Step Up For Black Daughters [Video]

We need our black fathers to be there for us!!! NPR recently posted a discussion with director Janks Morton and one of the stars of his documentary “Dear Daddy,” which explores the issue of young black girls growing up without fathers. We thought we’d share an early trailer for the project along with some excerpts below: NPR: Janks, you talked about a lot of relationships, girls who never knew their fathers. There are young women whose fathers were in and out of their lives. Did you notice a difference in the stories that the girls told of what those different scenarios and what they meant? MORTON: What I saw, it doesn’t matter. The deserter, deceased, the disenfranchised, the whatever the circumstance, it doesn’t matter. The trauma that these girls – these 1.8 million, 18 to 24-year-old black girls, 1.8 million – are carrying on their heart, it’s not been given a voice. And what I found is that this arc, it goes through a woman’s life. It just manifests itself in all these different ways that I think, that if we can get this generation, you know, an opportunity to purge themselves of this trauma, I think there are some greatness that can begin to happen in the relationship dynamic in blacks. NPR also spoke with a woman named Jonetta Rose Barras, who wrote the book “Whatever Happened To Daddy’s Little Girl? The Impact Of Fatherlessness On Black Women”. She had some interesting things to add to the conversation about how fatherlessness causes deeper issues further down the line: NPR: But could part of the reason be that – and I just have to be, trying to be sensitive here – is part of the issue here that black women are the ones who perpetuate this by continuing to and choosing to – in some cases choosing to -have children without fathers who are reliable, without men who they know they can rely upon? And I have to ask if that’s part of the issue? BARRAS: Well, I have to look at my own self. I’ve been married twice. I had a child out of wedlock before I was married the first time. And I think that part of the problem is that you develop these kind of, I call them symptoms – the fatherless woman syndrome – you develop these handicaps based on the absence of your father. So you don’t believe that you’re lovable or worthy of love. You suffered the triple fear factor – fear of rejection, fear of commitment, fear of abandonment. You actually get involved with sexual activity because you’re looking for someone to love you. You have rage, anger and depression issues, and then you overcompensate, either using drugs, using work. And so these things come out in your life in ways that, kind of, alienates you in relationships. This is a very important issue and we want you to discuss it! Can we solve the “fatherlessness epidemic”? How can women who have already experienced the impact of being without their fathers move on and heal from their experience? How can men who don’t know their own fathers be better fathers to their daughters? How can women make better choices about who they let into their bodies to ensure the fathers of their children will be there for them? What’s been your experience? Do you have a relationship with your father? Have you tried to repair a fractured relationship?

Breakups: Paris Hilton Gets Kicked Curbside By Swirly Dutch DJ Boo Thang

Poor Paris . Paris Hilton Dumped By Boyfriend DJ Afrojack Things are really looking down for Paris Hilton right now. Her career is on the downswing, the Kardashians rule the world and her half-black boo thang just wants to be free — from her. According to RadarOnline reports : Paris Hilton and DJ AfroJack have called it quits after dating for around six months, RadarOnline.com is exclusively reporting. “Afrojack had moved into Paris’ Beverly Hills mansion earlier this year, and the two got very serious, very fast,” a source close to the former couple tells RadarOnline.com. “Paris was really into him and admires the work he has done. Afrojack did a lot of the work on Paris’ new album which will be released later this year. He took a lot of criticism for working with her, but he truly does believe that she has talent. Paris was smitten with him, but Afrojack just wanted to have fun and not be exclusive with anyone. He is on the road practically every day performing in clubs all over the world, and he just isn’t ready to settle down, whereas Paris is.” As RadarOnline.com previously reported, 31, is working on completing a second follow up album six years after the release of her first one which sold only 197,000 copes. Paris has been focusing “all of her creative energy into her second album,” a source close to the former reality star says. “Paris has been working with Flo Rida, LMFAO and David Guetta, and the album should be released this summer,” a source previously told RadarOnline.com. “Paris hopes to embark on a European concert tour to promote the album, which will consist of house music. She knows she has a lot riding on this project because her last reality show was canceled and she needs to do something to re-invent herself. Paris is hoping to appeal to a broader fan base and would love to use the album as a platform for a possible project with MTV. Yes, Paris is a very successful businesswoman, and she is about to release her fifteenth fragrance, but that isn’t enough for her. Paris craves the attention from the media and her fans and she is truly feeling the pressure to deliver on this, because she doesn’t have any other television or movie projects lined up.” Meanwhile, Paris is likely to take her recent breakup hard, as friends of the socialite tell us, “Paris is having a hard time adjusting to the fact that she just doesn’t have the popularity or cache that she did five years ago. Paris has tons of money, but that isn’t enough for her. Look, she is still going to clubs on a very frequent basis and she is 31 years old. You don’t see a lot of people over 30 going to clubs, it’s almost sad to see. Paris would love to be married with kids, it’s all she ever talks about, but she hasn’t found her Prince Charming yet and she isn’t getting any younger.” Poor Paris. All that money can’t buy her love from fans or a nice boo. Oh well, she can always shop at Chanel. W ENN/PacificCoastNews

Here is an Actual Press Release Announcing the Actual Development of the Pauly Shore/Andy Dick Sequel In The Army Again

I don’t recall the 1994 Pauly Shore/Andy Dick effort In the Army Now being a “huge box office success and fan favorite,” but I’m happy to take the co-stars’ words for it if it means leaving well-enough alone and not foisting In the Army Again on an unsuspecting population still reeling from a decade of war abroad. Even if it means not seeing them save “Katey Parry [sic] from a USO show gone bad” — our national psyche has endured enough, has it not? That’s all I’ve got for this announcement , which unfortunately coincided with Memorial Day weekend and will not be ignored : Beverly Hills (MMD Newswire) May 23, 2012 — (www.FilmOn.com) – Yesterday, over looking Cannon Drive in the heart of Beverly Hills, Pauly Shore was a guest on Andy Dick Live, a weekly live internet TV show filmed at FilmOn.TV Studios. Among girls in bikinis and Andy Dicks [sic] usual group of crazies, Andy and Pauly discussed their past films including their huge box office success and fan favorite, In The Army Now . “I’ve always said we should do In The Army Again ,” said Andy Dick. “We should rescue Katey Parry [sic] from a USO show gone bad or something.” Pauly Shore loved the idea. “We just need a script and someone to back the project and I’m in.” Billionaire and FilmOn.TV CEO Alki David jumped in, “I’ll back it if both of you star in it.” Right there streaming live, film history was made. Andy Dick says a treatment is already written and they will be writing the script as soon as possible. Good grief. I mean, where’s Judicial Watch to investigate these guys’ military-flick aspirations when you need them? [ MMD via AV Club ]

Rick Ross And Usher’s ‘Touch ‘N You’ Is For ‘The Ladies’

Rozay and Usher talk to MTV News about the ‘sexy’ track from their video set in Atlanta. By Rob Markman, with reporting by FLX Rick Ross on the set of “Touch ‘N You” Photo: MTV News God Forgives, but Rick Ross does not. Still, as apathetic as the Bawse may portray himself, Rozay has a sweet spot when it comes to the ladies. So on “Touch ‘N You,” the new big money single off of Ross’ upcoming God Forgives, I Don’t, the Maybach CEO and guest star Usher Raymond show a little love to the hunnies. “It’s a real sexy record. I wanted to make sure the ladies knew that they could be a part of this movement, a part of this project,” Rick Ross told MTV News on Thursday (May 24) from the “Touch ‘N You” video set in Atlanta. “I would never let the ladies down even if it’s a real hard album or however it may be titled.” The upcoming clip is directed by Chris Robinson (Lil Wayne “How to Love,” Jay-Z “Roc Boys”) and will of course co-star Usher. “It’s an incredible one, Chris once again comes together making an incredible video,” Usher told us. “It is a conceptual video depicting the world that Rozay is in. My participation is just to show up and be cool.” Cool is an understatement when it comes to Usher, who is riding high off of his #1 Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Song “Climax.” Ross is no stranger to love songs either; he’s given the ladies plenty to swoon over on singles like 2008’s “Here I Am” and 2010’s “Aston Martin Music,” but having Ush on a track adds a certain appeal. The combination of Raymond’s vocals and the sexy “Touch ‘N You” video should be just enough to help Rozay properly put his feelings in perspective. Sometimes after long studio sessions with Meek Mill, Wale and the rest of his MMG compadres, the Bawse just needs to get away, and that’s what he aims to capture in the clip. “It’s basically like a situation where life gets so hectic sometimes you just want to get away with that special female and that’s what this was based off,” he said. What do you think of Rick Ross and Usher’s “Touch ‘N You”? Lets us know in the comments! Related Artists Rick Ross Usher

Conservatives Pissed This Obama Fundraiser Made Striptease Video Showing How To “Booty Clap”[Video]

Stacii Jae Johnson Obama Fundraiser “How To Striptease” Instruction Video Conservatives are crying about this now: A conservative nonprofit website on Wednesday revealed the “breaking” news that one of President Barack Obama’s volunteer fundraisers made a 2004 video about exotic dancing — with her clothes on. A report by The Washington Free Beacon, a project of the 501(c)4 Center for American Freedom, uncovered that Stacii Jae Johnson made a 2004 instructional film titled “I Want To Strip For My Man.” While the website calls Johnson a “major Obama campaign fundraiser,” the amount she raised was less than $100,000, putting her in the lowest grouping of first quarter volunteer bundlers. “The DVD invites female viewers to ‘slip into something sexy, strap on the 6 inch stiletto heels, pop it in the player, and prepare to journey into your bodies,’” the Free Beacon’s Andrew Stiles writes. “These self-described ‘sexual revolutionaries’ provide expert instruction on “signature exotic moves” such as the ‘fold over,’ the ‘crawl,’ the ‘spread eagle,’ and the ‘booty clap.’” “It is unclear whether the Obama campaign was aware of the existence of ‘I Want To Strip For My Man’ before accepting donations raised by Johnson,” Stiles adds. He also notes that Johnson has appeared in a “star-studded urban satire” of the “The Blair Witch Project” and links her to African-American celebrities like Tyler Perry and B.Smith, Chris Tucker and Hank Aaron. Of the nine reviews on Amazon of her instructional video, only one was negative because the film “has NO stripping in it!” Overall, the DVD received four out of five stars. The Huffington Post’s Jason Linkins concluded that “Stiles is of the mind that what Johnson has done with her life in this instance is wrong or immoral somehow, and that this in some way taints the Obama campaign. ” “It’s so obviously Pecksniffy about downmarket ‘urban’ cinema, pro-sex women in general and this particular woman’s aspiration to be involved in the civic life of her community, but it refuses to actually get up the guts to just come out and say so,” Linkins observed. “But seriously, just own it, Free Beacon.” Turn the page and peep the video “I Want To Strip For My Man”

The Watch Teaser: Vince Vaughn Helps Debut New, Improved Marketing Push

Behold: the new and improved teaser for The Watch , complete with introduction by star Vince Vaughn. Kristen Stewart and Co. Finally Go On the Road at Cannes

More than half a century has passed since Jack Kerouac’s On the Road was published and over 30 years since Francis Ford Coppola bought the rights to the book. Only today, in one of the Cannes Film Festival’s most anticipated events, has director Walter Salles’s adaptation finally screened for its first audience. Stars Kristen Stewart, Garrett Hedlund, Kirsten Dunst and Sam Riley (pictured above L-R) joined director Walter Salles and other On the Road principals to discuss the film at a press conference on Wednesday. Shot over 100,000 kilometers and with years of research heading into the project before shooting, the new film based on the Beat Generation bible finally made good on numerous failed adaptation attempts in the past. “My dad bought the rights in 1979 and aspired to make the movie with a handful of filmmakers through the years,” said Roman Coppola, a producer on the film, at the press conference. “Then Walter said he’d like to take it on, and he’s such a natural fit for this kind of material.” Salles has indeed put in his own time on the road — most notably in 2004 when he directed The Motorcycle Diaries , another overland film based on the famous travelogue by future Cuban revolutionary Ernesto “Che” Guevara. Salles spent five years retracing the route of On the Road before shooting. “What we’re portraying with this film has a correlation with The Motorcycle Diaries ,” Salles explained today. “It’s about the dawn of a new era and a journey from youth to the beginning of adulthood and [young people] trying to find the freedoms that were denied them. And by doing that, they also changed a culture in a country that was very, very conservative.” The film features Riley ( ControL ) as Sal, who falls under the spell of the intoxicatingly charming Dean Moriarty (Hedlund), who himself chases around America for freedom and an elusive “It.” Standing in as surrogates for Kerouac and Beat poet Neal Cassady, respectively, Sal and Dean travel around the country indulging in drink, drugs, sex, fast driving and the whims of youth hellbent on not conforming to post-WWII America. “I think this is a great time for this to come out now, because young people will discover this book and identify with it in a lot of ways,” said Viggo Mortensen, whose character Old Bull Lee was inspired by William S. Burroughs. Perhaps the darkest of the Beats, Lee tries to shed enlightenment on Sal and Dean as they pass through. Mortensen said he was drawn to Salles’s approach to the material, which has been viewed by some as difficult (at best) to adapt to the screen given its unconventional style. “You have to make these characters your own,” he said. “I asked, ‘How is this film going to be made?’ Is it just going to be a piece of Americana and in a box, or are we going to make these characters our own? Some could have made this beautifully photographed and that’s it. Or is it going to be beautifully photographed but also embrace the darker sides of the story. It is disturbing sometimes, this movie — drinking, drugs and the women who get left behind.” Among the women who get left behind we find Stewart, who co-stars as Dean’s ex-wife and longtime mistress (after their marriage) LuAnne. She travels with Dean and Sal through large swaths of America, sharing in their hedonism (and occasionally sharing them). Dunst, meanwhile, appears as the mother of Dean’s two children, whom he’d often leave behind as he traipsed across the country (and Mexico) with Sal, jumping into bed (or wherever) with one woman after the next. “I was 16 or 17 when I spoke to Walter for the first time [about this film],” Stewart told the press on Wednesday. “I was happy I could age a couple of years when I started this movie even though LuAnne was 16 when she started this journey but I was a younger 16,” said Stewart. When asked about the sex scenes and the nudity — and there is plenty of that across the board in On the Road — Stewart said she was ready to push the envelope after the more restrained sexuality of the Twilight series. “I like pushing and watching a genuine experience on screen,” she said. “The reason I wanted to do the job was to be provoked as much as possible and then to do it and take it further. We were just going forth, and as long as you’re being honest there’s nothing to be ashamed of.” “Those characters in the book had the courage to experience everything in the flesh,” said Salles, who added that he hopes the film will not only be a window into this particular group of people or a past generation, but also be a vehicle for young people now. “It may be very painful to see what happens to these men and women… [but] the most beautiful thing that could happen is that young viewers of this movie may read this book and have the same passion as we had when we were that age.” Read more of Movieline’s Cannes 2012 coverage here .

DeadMau5 Ignites Twitter Feud, Calls Pauly D’s New Video ‘Garbage’

‘Night of My Life’ video ‘typical bottlepopping playpressing garbage im sure everyones sick of,’ deadmau5 tweets. By Jocelyn Vena Pauly D Photo: WireImage After putting to bed his feud with Madonna , it seems EDM star deadmau5 is embroiled in a new Twitter beef, this time with MTV’s own DJ Pauly D . It all began when Pauly posted a link to his new music video for the track “Night of My Life.” He asked his fans, followers and Twitter in general, “So how do you like the video?” Mau5 apparently checked it out and didn’t like what he saw. “Well since you asked,” deadmau5 tweeted , “I didn’t really enjoy it. it looked like it cost about $150 to make, and nothing really creative about it.” @ DJPaulyD well since you asked, i didn’t really enjoy it. it looked like it cost about $150 to make, and nothing really creative about it. — deadmau5 (@deadmau5) May 17, 2012 For those wondering what made Mau5 so mad, the video’s concept is pretty simple and by all standards, pretty innocuous. It plays out almost like a mini-episode of Pauly’s MTV show, “The Pauly D Project,” following him from gig to gig, confetti and champagne flying everywhere. It also features some behind-the-scenes moments, including the “Jersey Shore” star hanging with his pals and meeting fans. Pauly didn’t let the jab go, but did offer up a little quip to answer his fellow DJ’s dig. He tweeted, “T-Shirt $40 Jeans $120 Hair Gel $12 Being Hated On By deadmau5#Priceless.” Like any good feud, it didn’t end there. Dead’s response? “hating? the f—? you clearly don’t know me enough if you thought that was ‘hating’. was just some friendly-ish advice.” Things continued to escalate on Dead’s side, with him tweeting responses including, “i’ll just leave it at: ‘Don’t blame your failure on haters. If everyone thinks you suck, they’re not haters, they’re right.’ – Daniel Tosh,” and in response to a fan, he added, “nah, i just thought it was a piece of sh–, in short. typical bottlepopping playpressing garbage im sure everyones sick of.” “Well, now that Jersey (and quite possibly the rest of the eastern seaboard) ‘came at me bro’ i guess its time for bed soon,” Deadmau5 added before asking where Snooki is and then resigning, “im kidding. that was a joke. sorry.” With Deadmau5 seemingly over the whole thing, Pauly pondered, “Wonder If I Could Get @Deadmau5 To DJ My Birthday ?? Now That Would Be The #NightOfMyLife.” As the whole beef came to an end, Pauly had a few final words before ending the battle on his end. “Maybe He Just Needs Some Cheese To Go With His Whine … #WheresMyMau5Trap,” he said, then tweeted, “Well @DeadMau5 Today Was A Pleasure , Hope U Had Fun Too , But I Got Show To Watch Tonight #PaulyDProject U Should Tune In@MTV.” Sound off on the Twitter feud in the comments below!
