Derek’s A Capella Promposal with The Whiptones Derk, a member of an a capella doo-wop group called The Whiptones, enlisted his friends’ help for the promposal. While Gina was hanging out with friends, the guys, dressed in 50s-style leather jackets surprised her with a song. Their rendition of the The Cadillacs’ “My Girlfriend” was personalized for the occasion which only made the sentiment sweeter, and now they have a marketing strategy to help other would-be askers so they don’t have to go it alone. For a small fee, you can rent The Whiptones as your very own singing promposal delivery service and they’ll help you ask her (or him, it’s 2014 after all) to the big dance. No wonder she can’t find a man! Hollywood Life has revealed a list of Taylor Swift’s boyfriend requirements and good God is that girl picky. The list – revealed by a friend of Taylor’s who of course chose to remain anonymous – shows an obsessive side of the singer that she probably would’ve preferred to keep private. “She wants someone on her level when it comes to their career,” says the insider. “Plus, they have to be hot — like leading man hot. And she would love a guy that can speak at least two languages.” Okay, those all seem like reasonable requirements for a woman in Taylor’s position. But wait, it gets weirder: “She wants a guy that has at least one sister,” the source adds “Because she thinks it will make him a better boyfriend. He has to have a good relationship with his parents, especially his mom, but he can’t be a mama’s boy.” He should also be tall, but not too tall, and he should use his second language to communicate with his sister, but never with his mom…Okay, we kid Taylor, but seriously, girl – ease up on those requirements of you’re gonna be singing your angry breakup songs for a long, long time. Dang, Jaden can’t get no lovin’ from Kylie ? The youngest of the Kardashian/Jenner women is denying being boo’ed up with Jaden Smith in the new prom issue of Seventeen Magazine . According to US Weekly reports : Kylie Jenner has been in the public eye since age 9, so having a normal prom experience is probably a struggle. But in the new Seventeen Prom cover story (on newsstands Dec. 25), the 16-year-old opens up about her dreams for the perfect prom from the date to the dress. And though she has been spending lots of quality time Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s son, Jaden, since March, the cover girl says she’s currently single. “I don’t have a boyfriend, but I do really want that boyfriend prom experience,” she said in the magazine. “I would want to go with someone who’s not afraid, or doesn’t think that he’s too cool, to show up at my house with a rose corsage. It would be nice for the guy to come over and be respectful and nice while my mom takes prom pics. But if I couldn’t find a boyfriend, I would want to go with one of my best guy friends, like Jaden [Smith]. I know I’d have fun with him – he makes me laugh and he is a great dancer.” Jenner and actor-singer Smith, 15, are often spotted out together with Smith’s younger sister Willow and former Hannah Montana star Moises Arias. On Nov. 19 Jaden was photographed clasping a gold necklace on the reality star’s neck in West Hollywood, and on Nov. 24, the duo sat and posed together at the American Music Awards where they hugged and held hands for most of the night. Though she now claims to be single, the former couple is clearly still close if she’s willing to invite him to be her prom date. Womp womp. Jaden can do better anyway… Just sayin’. He’s one lucky boy… Evelyn Lozada Takes Senior To Prom via TMZ rEports: Better late than never … so says “Basketball Wives” star Evelyn Lozada who finally went to prom last night — TWENTY YEARS after graduating from high school, TMZ has learned. Here’s how it all went down — just a few months ago, a high school senior from Bloomfield, Michigan reached out to the VH1 star on Twitter and threw up a Hail Mary … by asking her to be his date to the prom. Shockingly, Lozada ACCEPTED — thinking it would be a fun experience … particularly because she never went to her own high school prom because she was pregnant at the time. We’re told Evelyn’s date Anthony was quite the Romeo … and even bought Evelyn’s corsage. She took care of the rest — paying for transportation (in a sick Denali) … and a fancy dinner — plus, she paid for her own plane ticket out from L.A.. This is a beautiful thing! 20 Florida Prom Goers Stop To Help Family Trapped Inside Overturned Van Via ABCNews Decked out in tuxedos and ball gowns, 20 prom-bound high school seniors and their limousine driver came to the rescue after a van overturned on a Florida highway. The well-dressed students managed to pull seven passengers from the van Saturday and make it to prom just 15 minutes late, limousine driver Danny Izzi told ABCNews.com. The students were traveling on Interstate 595 to their prom at the Westin Hotel on Fort Lauderdale beach when the van, which was in front of the limousine, began swerving, Izzi said. “When it hit the wall and turned over, I was right behind it,” Izzi said. He hit the brakes and got out of the car to help. Frank Tucker, a football player at Western High School in Davie, Fla., said the students had no idea why they had come to a stop until he peeked out the window. “I saw the bottom of the van,” he told ABCNews.com. “We kind of reacted to it, ran out of the limo and did what we had to do.” Izzi and the teens braved blood and broken glass to pull five adults, a 9-year-old boy and a 2-year-old girl to safety. Damn, not the babies! Sgt. Mark Wysocky of the Florida Highway Patrol said the girl was not wearing a seat belt, but she and the other passengers suffered only minor injuries. The driver of the vehicle was charged with failure to use due care and a child restraint violation, he said. When ambulances arrived to take the victims to the hospital, the teens continued to the prom, arriving 15 minutes late and a bit disheveled. Tucker’s girlfriend, Krista Pulcini, had blood all over her gown, he said, but she managed to wash it off and continue on for the evening. “It was a good prom,” he said. “Everybody had a story to tell.” Gotta love people helping people, Kumbayah and all of that good stuff.
