The People’s Choice Awards Happened and I Don’t Care of the Day

I don’t watch this smut. I can’t handle awards shows created by the industry who creates these “artists”…even if they pretend the people chose, because really no one I know voted, leading me to think the people who did were not representative of reality, but of a niche gang of losers with no friends that no one cares about, looking for entertainment cuz knitting and crying themselves too sleep is getting boring. I hate these things, but Here’s a recap I wrote based on pictres… Ashley Tisdale was Ugly as always, Jennifer Aniston Lonely cuz no one wants to have a baby with her, Kayley Cuoco did it for John Ritter cuz he’s dead, Katy Perry brought her tits cuz they are all that matters when it comes to Katy Perry, Kritsten Stewart was Skinny White Trash with Cankles who was fucked by her dad growing up, Mila Kunis left her Culkin Aids back to die alone making her single and ready for me to fantasize about her, Minka Kelly is Not the Hottest Bitch in the World depsite what magazines say and either is Leighton Meester even though her criminal halfway house mom tells her she is to motivate her to suck more dick to get to the top, Natalie Portman busted out her maternity wear and so did Queen Latifah, Selena Gomez Smelled of Beiber Cum cuz teenagers these days know how to party, and Taylor Swift’s ass was still sore cuz Gyllenhaal only fucks the gay way in memory of his fallen love Heath Ledger….cuz he’s gay…and the rest of the trash was not worth mentioning, even if their pictures were worth posting cuz they looked like fucking shit or worth cumming on their tits….I’ll let you come to your own conclusion and that’s all I have to say about the People’s Choice Awards, which turned out to be a lot for someone who claims he doesn’t care…. Queen Latifah to Kate Middleton: Find Peace!

It’s important to remember: Queen Latifah is not actually royalty. Still, this artist took it upon herself to give advice to Kate Middleton in a recent interview, telling Parade the princess-to-be must find a “sanctuary.” “Everybody in the world is going to be in your business,” Latifah said. “He happened to be born a prince; you happened to go to college and meet him. You’re two kids who fell in love. I just hope you have a happy life. And don’t take anything personally.” Latifah will host this week’s People’s Choice Awards and also co-stars with Vince Vaughn in The Dilemma . Where does she see herself in 10 years? “On cruise control, with a couple of kids under my belt,” she says, adding:

Vince Vaughn and Kevin James Really Love Each Other in Trailer for The Dilemma

Ah, awards season. What a perfect time for a new Ron Howard film about a difficult ethical quandary starring…Vince Vaughn and Kevin James? Huh? It opens with a gay joke? And then follows that with Queen Latifah talking about her “lady wood?” Ohh, I see. It’s actually a another comedy about guys who like each other more than their wives, opening over a year after the amiable I Love You Man already took “bromance” past it’s peak.

Don’t Ask Gerard Depardieu to Join the Juliette Binoche Fan Club

I know, I know: When you think of Gerard Depardieu, the very first thing that comes to mind is the kindly French chef he played in the Queen Latifah vehicle Last Holiday . (After that, maybe My Father the Hero ?) Sadly, he is not at all like that character, as his cruel, out-of-nowhere remarks about French compatriot Juliette Binoche prove.

Debi Nova Explains ‘Coming To America’ Moment On ‘When I Was 17’

Costa Rica native was overwhelmed by the sheer number of toilet-paper varieties. By MTV News staff Debi Nova Photo: MTV News Since “When I Was 17” premiered in May, we’ve heard celebrity stories of teenage heartbreak and hilarity, triumph and defeat, and OK, a whole lot of foolishness. Drake shared memories of his days rocking what he called a “terrible afro,” Queen Latifah recalled the day she landed her first record deal, and Bret Michaels shared intimate details about the night he lost his virginity. This Saturday’s episode brings us a tale of hope for the future — and a bit of terror at the present. When “Drummer Boy” singer Debi Nova was 17, she emigrated from Costa Rica to Los Angeles. What she found in La La Land was enormously enticing and more than a little overwhelming. “There was a very specific story that marked my coming-to-America moment,” she explains. The event took place almost as soon as her plane had touched down in California and she set out to get some household supplies. “Very first week I get here, I go into the supermarket because I need some toilet paper,” she said. “I go in the toilet-paper aisle and I’m like, ‘OK, unscented, aloe vera, recycled, non-recycled, double-ply, triple-ply, four rolls, eight rolls, 12 rolls, 32 rolls. What do you want?’ ” Tune into Saturday’s show to hear more about Nova’s first year in America, including the embarrassing time she failed her driver’s license test. New York Yankees ace CC Sabathia , who already stood 6-foot-6 before he’d even hit his 18th birthday, and Ciara, who found out what it was like to be cheated on at the tender age of 17, are also featured in the new episode. “When I Was 17” — this week featuring Debi Nova, CC Sabathia and Ciara — airs Saturday at 11 a.m. on MTV. Drake, Queen Latifah And Jennie Finch Recall When They Were 17

‘It was a very exciting time for me,’ Latifah says on MTV’s ‘When I Was 17.’ By Eric Ditzian Drake on “When I Was 17” Photo: MTV News You can notch a #1 Billboard single, score an Olympic gold medal or win a Golden Globe — it still won’t erase those awkward moments from your teenage years. That’s what we learned on this week’s episode of “When I Was 17,” when Drake, Jennie Finch and Queen Latifah shared memories of their lives back in the day. “When I was 17, I used to have this terrible afro,” Drake laughed. “You know, an afro is supposed to be big. It’s supposed to be a nice sphere and then it’s supposed to end. My joint never really ended. It was like a neck afro. It made me look like I had the biggest head in the world.” It got so bad that Drake’s friend pretty much demanded he find a new barber. The “Best I Ever Had” MC followed that advice, got a new ‘do, and his life has never been the same. “I was a whole new person,” he said. “I was, like, reborn.” His wardrobe, however, was an entirely different problem. Drake confessed he used to be an eBay addict. He’d spend hours online picking out jerseys and velour track suits. “I look back now and it’s all hideous,” he said. Two-time Olympic medal winner Jennie Finch, meanwhile, was 6’1″ when she was 17, and she admits that getting a date was anything but easy. But she had a tight group of friends called the Bomb Squad — “Because we thought we were the bomb,” a friend recalled — and some serious athletic ability. “I was that super softball chick,” Finch said. “I was all about athletics.” During her senior year, she ended up pitching a perfect game — no hits, no walks, no errors, a truly amazing feat. “I remember driving home and being like, ‘Mom, can I get that Guess watch if I pitch another perfect game?’ It was a mix of gold and silver, so it would go with anything I wore.” Her mom told her if she could pitch another perfect game — and do it during her very next start — the watch would be hers. Sure enough, she went out and threw another perfect game. “You better believe I rocked that Guess watch,” Finch laughed. When Queen Latifah was 17, she had her eye on a record contract. Her mom introduced her to a local DJ named Mark James, otherwise known as the 45 King. Together they laid down a demo. “I did, like, two songs,” she explained. “I was just spittin’ my rhymes. ‘Wrath of My Madness’ was the A side. ‘Princess of the Posse’ was the B side. Mark gave the tape to this guy named Fab 5 Freddy, who was known around. I knew he was circulating this music around, but I was kind of on pins and needles. You never know, it’s a one-in-a-million shot. And Mark calls me one day. He’s like, ‘Yo, I think we got a record deal!’ “It was a very exciting time for me,” she added. “I was 17 years old and I was off to the races.” “When I Was 17” airs Saturdays at 11 a.m. on MTV.

Queen Latifah Says Common Brought ‘Dynamics’ To ‘Just Wright’

‘I could no longer walk out onto a set and look at a bunch of white males,’ Queen says of her producer role. By Jayson Rodriguez Photo: MTV News “Just Wright,” which opened Friday (May 14), is Queen Latifah’s fifth film as a producer. The hip-hop icon says that she tries to make each project reflect her reality — and that’s how Common ended up cast in his first lead role . “Every time that I do a movie, when I get into a position of power and my voice actually meant something, I realized that I could no longer walk out onto a set and look at a bunch of white males,” she told MTV News. “That was just no longer acceptable. I need to see dynamics. I needed to see what I just came out of from walking off the street when I came in here. Where are the women? Where are the people of color? I need to see that in front of me, ’cause I just don’t feel like it’s right.” According to Latifah, Common was the perfect candidate for the role, but the witty MC still had to prove his mettle with the production team. “There’s a difference, man,” Common said about being a leading man. ” ‘Cause I remember, specifically, my first [role] doing ‘Smokin’ Aces,’ I got there at, like, 6 in the morning — I was sitting in the trailer, and I wasn’t thinking about listening to music, ’cause I wanted to stay focused. I was just sitting there focused, and then they called lunch at 12, and I thought, ‘Dang, they ain’t doing the scene yet?’ And then we went back, and then it was 5 o’clock, and they told me they didn’t need me for the day, and I’d been zoning in the whole time! So I’m getting changed, and 20 minutes later they come back, ‘Hurry up, get into the scene.’ That let me know it’s a roller coaster in this thing, and you just got to be prepared. But as a leading man, you’re there, boom, you gotta be working every day.” Latifah said she hopes to continue promoting untapped talent to move up the ladder in Tinsel Town. “If I’m here, if I made it here and I don’t do my part to make sure that the set is more dynamic,” she said, “and I don’t mean hire unqualified people, but go find some qualified people in these areas and make sure when I look up I’m looking at a little bit more of a rainbow around here. ‘Cause that makes me feel better. It makes me feel blessed to be in a position to do it.” Are you excited to see Common star in “Just Wright” with Queen Latifah? Let us know in the comments!
