This girl died a hero. This is such a sad story: The man behind the wheel of an out-of-control SUV that fatally mowed down a brave Brooklyn girl seconds after she shepherded six kids to safety was an ex-con with a lengthy rap sheet and two stints in state prison under his belt, cops said yesterday. Sean Lewis, 44, of Harlem, who also died in the crash, had been stabbed and was trying to drive himself to the hospital when his Range Rover slammed into four parked cars on Pacific Street in Brownsville at about 10:15 p.m. on Saturday. Cops said the SUV flipped over onto 13-year-old Kira Goddard, killing the girl hailed as a hero for saving others before trying to flee inside her building on Pacific Street herself. Lewis suffered head injuries and was taken to Brookdale Hospital, where workers discovered that he had been stabbed in the torso before the accident. He was pronounced DOA. Cops yesterday had no details on the stabbing. But several Pacific Street residents said Lewis had had a longstanding feud with a neighbor that appeared to have boiled over again last night, with the pair yelling at each other on a nearby street. “[They] had been arguing over money the past couple of weeks,” one neighbor said. Lewis had a well-documented tendency for trouble. He did two years in state prison for robbery starting in 1992 and spent another two years in the joint on a drug-dealing rap four years later. He had nine priors, including three for driving with a suspended license, although his license was valid at the time of the crash. Lewis’ son, Sean Norman, 24, insisted that the smashup wasn’t his dad’s fault. “The reason my father crashed is because he was stabbed,” Norman said. Lewis “had 11 kids. He was a real family man,” Norman said. “I’m mourning my father and also that innocent little girl. Neither of them deserved to die. “I don’t know why my father was stabbed. He didn’t have any problems with anyone . . . We need to find out who stabbed my father. He is the one responsible for these deaths.” Meanwhile, Kira’s mom, Joyce Lovelady, said her daughter was “a hero,” adding, “I wouldn’t have expected anything less from her.” The slain girl’s weeping sister, Tanisha, 14, said that Kira had spotted the SUV careering toward the stoop where the youngsters were sitting and had shouted, “Run! run! run!” The kids ran inside, but Kira could not get out of the way fast enough. “She always looked after us,” her sister said. R.I.P. Kira and Sean Sad that little girl will never experience so much that life had to offer. And Lewis had 11 kids who have to spend their life without a dad. SMH. Our thoughts and prayers are with the families of both. Source
The recent Amy Winehouse tragedy has caused many to look at stars that died at 27 , but unfortunately there’s a longer list of stars that died before they saw their 30th birthdays. Hold up a candle and let’s take a trip down the path of souls we lost too soon.

These people deserve to die a slow painful death, although we can’t imagine anything worse than what they already did to his babymama. Just weeks after the birth of their first child together, Grant Hayes and his new wife Amanda Perry allegedly murdered the mother of his three-year-old and one-year-old sons, hacking up the pieces with a saw and a machete before packing the parts on ice in coolers and driving them all the way to TEXAS in a U-Haul to throw them in a creek!!!!! Here are some details: Laura Ackerson, 27, vanished from Kinston, North Carolina almost two weeks ago. She was reported missing after she failed to pick up her two young sons from her ex-boyfriend’s house for a weekend visit. The beautiful young mother had been involved in an acrimonious custody battle with Grant Hayes, the father of her two children, who it emerged had a new baby girl with his wife barely a month ago. Here’s a photo of Laura with her sons Grant and Gentle: Police have now charged Hayes and his wife, Amanda, with murder after Miss Ackerson’s dismembered body was found in Oyster Creek, Texas, close to where Mrs Hayes’s sister lives. Hayes, a musician, had married Amanda Perry in March last year. They had a baby daughter, Lillian, on June 9 – just over a month before the murders. Chief Deputy Craig Brady of the Fort Bend Sheriff’s Office alleges Hayes murdered Miss Ackerson in North Carolina, and hacked her body apart using a saw and a machete. Records show the couple bought several ice chests and a U-Haul trailer just days after Miss Ackerson disappeared, and police claim they used them to transport her body to Texas, a drive of more than 1,200 miles. The couple then allegedly went out into the creek on a small 10-foot boat, dumping Miss Ackerson’s body piece by piece into the water – before driving back to North Carolina to see their newborn baby daughter. On Sunday detectives found pieces of Miss Ackerson’s torso in Oyster Creek, and the next day they retrieved her head and leg from the hot, swamp water. Officers also recovered a machete from an outhouse near where her body was found. How disgusting. SMH. These people ain’t sh*t. Was it really necessary to KILL the woman??? More details on the next page.
Amy Winehouse was found dead in her apartment in London today. Multiple sources confirm that the singer is the woman in this press release from the Metropolitan Police, which doesn’t specifically name her: “Police were called by Ambulance Service to an address in Camden Square NW1 just before 16 hrs today, Saturday 23 July, following reports of a woman deceased.” “On arrival officers found the body of a 27-year-old female who was pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries continue into the circumstances of the death.” “At this early stage it is being treated as unexplained.” Amy Winehouse famously battled serious addiction to hard drugs and alcohol and was in and out of rehab several times throughout the years. Winehouse shot to fame with the 2006 album Back to Black , whose blend of jazz, soul, rock and classic pop won five Grammys and made her a star. Unfortunately, a turbulent marriage to Blake Fielder-Civil and overall self-destructive habits overshadowed her distinctive talent in the years since. Tabloids and the public became riveted by her erratic stage appearances, drunken fights, stints in hospital and rehab clinics, her performances increasingly rambling, stumbling train wrecks – and cause for concern. Just last month, Winehouse canceled her upcoming European tour after an awful performance in Serbia where she seemed completely out of it. Sadly, this story is almost shocking because it is not shocking. Her talent will be greatly missed. May she rest in peace. UPDATE : There were no signs of foul play in the death of Winehouse, Scotland Yard reports. It is still too early to determine cause of death. An autopsy has been scheduled for tomorrow.
The recently published Malcolm X biography by Manning Marable may be key to having his real killer brought to justice. Although three men were convicted of fatally shooting Malcolm X at the Audubon Ballroom in Upper Manhattan in 1965, for some time it has been believed that the investigation into his death was bungled, leading for two innocent men to be imprisoned and a guilty party to go free. While previous efforts to have the case reopened have failed, the publicity surrounding the recently published biography by Manning Marable could help bring about a new investigation — especially because in recent years prosecutors in the South have shown that it’s possible to pursue and win cases that are decades old and many of those cases have helped shine a light on the failures of civil rights era police. Part of what makes it more urgent to reopen this case is the recent revelation that the man who was never arrested for the assassination, but many suspected was responsible is now living in Newark under a different name. X was shot to death on stage at the Audubon Ballroom on Feb. 21, 1965. Shortly after he began to speak a scuffle broke out in the audience, then a smoke bomb went off and gun men opened fire. The prime suspect at the time was Thomas Hagan (pictured above being taken from Audubon Ballroom), a 22-year-old New Jersey member of the Nation of Islam who was arrested at the Audubon. Police investigated the crime scene for only four hours before the ballroom was mopped up for a dance that had already been planned. Police seemed to believe it was a simple enough case, since Malcolm X had recently broken with the Nation of Islam, who branded him a traitor and an enemy. Just a week before his assassination his home had also been firebombed.
