This is so sad … Student Texted Mother Goodbye Before Being Killed By Tornado There were a number of victims who lost their lives in the recent series of fatal tornadoes which struck southern and midwestern states, however we felt this one is particularly heartwrenching. A University of Central Arkansas senior named Jeffrey Hunter was waiting out the storm in his bathroom on April 27th when the tornado struck. As the storm approached he typed a series of final messages to his mother. Here are the details via KNWA : “First he said mama, I’m so scared,” said Regina Wood, Jeffrey Hunter’s mom. All Wood could think to do was tell her son Jeffrey Hunter he would be okay. “He knew how bad it was, these say it’s going to be a direct hit,” said Wood. From her home in Beebe 20 miles away from her son in Vilonia, Regina could only update Jeffrey through text on where the EF-4 tornado was headed. It was headed straight for him and he knew it, telling his mom goodbye. “I have a text on my phone as the tornado was hitting “Goodbye mama,” says Wood. “I kept saying are you okay? Are you okay? Let me know. Let me know. No answer,” Wood recalled. Jeffrey wasn’t the only person to die in his Vilonia neighborhood. There are flags up for each one of the victims. But despite the terror of losing her only son, Regina is comforted in the thought that Jeffrey, in the midst of panic and fright, thought to tell his mom goodbye. Cheo Feliciano, a legendary Salsa and Bolero singer from Puerto Rico, died early this morning as a result of injuries sustained in a car accident. He was 78 years old. According to local police, the artist lost control of his Jaguar around 4:15 a.m. careening around a curve and slamming into an electrical post. He was not wearing a seat belt at the time. “Father will live forever because he has given his music, his heart to his people,” Feliciano’s son, José Enrique, told El Nuevo Día. “Thank God we have his music to remember him by.” Feliciano was born in the Puerto Rican city of Ponce, but rose to fame in New York. His first major break arrived in 1955, when he sang with the Tito Rodríguez orchestra at The Palladium in New York City. He would proceed to record a number of popular singlets in 1970s, including “Anacaona,” “Mi triste problema,” “Pa’ que afinquen” and “Si por mi llueve. He struggled with drugs later in his career, however, and announced a cancer diagnosis last year. Feliciano is survived by behind his wife, Coco Feliciano, and four sons. Khloe Kardashian is like one of your annoying Facebook friends who posts a frowny face as a status update, but won’t respond when you ask her what’s wrong. She likes to be vague is what we’re saying, but a recent tweet seems to subtly suggest that things are getting serious between Khloe and French Montana . Khloe’s tweet was a photo of a quote written in old-timey typewriter font, that reads, “And in the end, we were all just humans, drunk on the idea that love, only love, could heal or brokenness.” The verse is attributed to Christopher Poindexter, who Khloe probably thinks is a famous poet, but is really just some dude who posts short poems like this on social networking sites. So what does it mean? Is Khloe trying to tell us she’s in love with French Montana and trying to heal her “brokenness” following her split with Lamar Odom ? Or maybe she just thought it was a cool-sounding quote and posted it in an effort to secure her place as the smartest Kardashian. We’ll probably never know what it means. In all likelihood, Khloe doesn’t know what it means. According to autopsy results revealed today The Ultimate Warrior – the wrestling legend who died last week – was killed by a massive heart attack. The coroner who conducted the autopsy reports that the wrestler – real name James Helwig – was suffering from long-term advanced cardiovascular disease. Those closest to Helwig initially believed that a heart attack was the cause of the Ultimate Warrior’s death as he reportedly clutched his chest before collapsing and came from a family with a history of heart disease. Just 54 years old, Helwig was admitted to the Wrestling Hall of Fame four days before his untimely demise. The autopsy results also list Helwig’s cause of death as “natural,” meaning that no drugs, alcohol or foul play were involved. Many have wondered publicly if the demanding toll taken by a lifetime of pro wrestling didn’t contribute to Helwig’s fatal condition. After starting as a bodybuilder, Helwig wrestled professionally for 12 years before retiring in 1998. He remained involved in the sport throughout his retirement and made his final public appearance at a WWE the same week of his death. Fans of the sport consider Helwig to be among the most popular and successful pro wrestlers of all time.

Incredibly sad story on the other side Teen And Friends Drown In NYC After Car Crashes Into Creek Via NYDailyNews Four friends on their way home from a birthday celebration nearby were killed late Friday night when the car they were riding in careened through a 3-foot high chain-link fence and rolled over into a Queens creek, police officials said. The driver, a 20-year-old man, managed to get out of the car, swim to shore and call 911, officials said. The driver placed the call at around 10:36 p.m., and rescue workers first arrived roughly six minutes later, officials said. He was seen at the end of the road flagging down rescue workers as they arrived, police sources said. Sixty-five firefighters responded to the scene off 19th Ave. near 37th St. in Astoria, along with divers from both the FDNY and the NYPD. But it was too late. Two men and two women were pulled out of the murky Steinway Creek, across from Rikers Island, after being trapped in the automobile, submerged in up to 10 feet of water, for more than a half hour. The first body was pulled out at 11:10 p.m., the last about five or six minutes later, a law enforcement source said. Wonder how the driver made it out and the others didn’t? There are no dead-end signs at the end of 19th Ave. that would have warned the driver, officials said. The group was celebrating one of the female passenger’s 19th birthday nearby, law enforcement sources said. It was not immediately clear which woman’s birthday the group was celebrating. The driver — part of his face covered by a bandage — spoke to investigators from the back of an ambulance before he was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, officials said. He was being treated for hypothermia at Elmhurst Hospital early Saturday. The cause of the accident was still under investigation as of Saturday morning. The driver was not drunk, police sources said, but speed was a factor. We can’t imagine anything more tragic than losing your life on the day you were born, especially in such a freak accident. So sad. Boy Mauled To Death By Pit Bulls Why do people allow a child to be around vicious pit bulls? According to Mississippi News Now: A three-year-old Holmes County child is dead, after a pit bull attack. It happened in the community of Thornton which is south of Tchula. The boy has been identified as Christopher Malone. Our news crew was the first to arrive on the scene when this happened just after 4:00p.m. Monday. Family members say the dogs were secured in a dog pen behind the home but some how broke out and attacked Malone. “The dog just jumped him and took him down and drugged him in the back and killed him, ate him up,” said Lucy Mayze, an aunt of the victim. Sheriff deputies say Malone’s mother tried to save him, “The children were outside playing and she missed her child and when she went around to look for him that’s when she saw the dogs on him and she went up there to try to get the dogs off her child and she ended up getting bit too,” said Captain Sam Chambers with the Holmes County Sheriff’s Department. Malone’s mother was treated at Lexington hospital. The death is still under investigation. If the pit bulls were better contained, this tragedy could have been prevented. Kate O’Mara died Sunday following a short illness, reports indicate. Her agent says the actress passed away in a Sussex, England nursing home this morning, though it’s not clear what illness O’Mara was suffering from. O’Mara’s manipulative Dynasty character, named Cassandra “Caress” Morell, made her show debut in 1986, and made a major impact for two seasons.
