White FSU Student Under Investigation Over Racist Social Media Post A Florida State University student who claims the racist messages directed towards her fellow minority students that came from her Twitter and Vine accounts were the result of a hacker. via  Huffington Post A racist post sent from a Florida State University student’s Vine and Twitter social media accounts set off a firestorm at the Tallahassee campus this week. Mandy Thurston’s Vine and Twitter accounts on Wednesday posted the message, “Welcome to FAMU…I mean FSU. #monkeyseverywhere,” according to screenshots circulated online (FAMU refers to Florida A&M University, a historically black university). The six-second Vine showed footage of students at the Oglesby Union courtyard on FSU’s campus during Market Wednesday, a weekly event where student organizations and vendors put up tables. The Vine post has since been deleted, as has Thurston’s Twitter account. Thurston told the Tallahassee Democrat Friday that her accounts had been hacked, and that she’s filed a police report about it. Maj. Jim Russell, assistant chief of FSU PD, confirmed to the newspaper that a report was filed this week, but did not provide any details. Prior to the Democrat’s report of the alleged hacking, campus police and the FSU administration had announced to the student body that an investigation was underway. Temple, Georgia’s First Black Mayoral Candidate Has Her House Burned Down An Africa-American female mayoral candidate from Temple, GA, who would be the city’s first black mayor should she win, appears to have been the victim of arson after her house was burned down just days after she confirmed her plans to enter the race. via WSBTV Georgia A woman attempting to become the first black mayor of Temple, Ga., finds it odd that four days after getting into the race, her house burns down. Karen Powell qualified for the race Tuesday. Saturday night, a home she owns off Old Bremen Road was destroyed by fire. Powell told Channel 2′s Tom Jones she is in total shock. “I’m a little jittery, yes. I’m a little nervous,” she said. “I’ve had the worst weekend I’ve ever had in my entire life.” “I just qualified. All of this, it was just like a domino effect,” Powell said. She was away from home Saturday when she got the call that her home was on fire. Fire officials are investigating how it started and whether it not it was an act of arson. Powell said her son lives in the house but wasn’t home at the time. Powell has two other challengers in the race. And while she finds the fire suspicious, she’s not ready to say if it had anything to do with her race or if it was intentionally set. “It’s just a lot of questions right now with no answers,” Powell said. Black Teen Who Shot Baby In Stroller And Accused White Mom Of Setting Up Murder For Money Found Guilty

Was the verdict fair? Black Teen Who Shot Baby In Stroller Found Guilty An African-American teenager has been convicted of murder in the killing of a 13-month-old toddler in Georgia. Via The Grio reports: De’Marquise Elkins was found guilty of shooting Antonio Santiago in the face at point-blank range in a botched robbery on March 21 in Brunswick. It took the jury took about two hours to convict the 18-year-old. He was convicted on all 11 counts, including two counts of felony murder and one count of malice murder. Because he was 17 at the time of the shooting he will not face the death penalty under the state law. Elkins now faces a life behind bars. Prosecutors say Elkins and an accomplice, 15-year-old Dominique Lang, stopped Sherry West and the older teen pointed a gun at her and demanded money before shots were fired. Lang testified against Elkins during the trial and said the older teen fired the weapon. The 15-year-old is to be tried later. Elkins’ attorney, Glynn County Public Defender Kevin Gough, said during the trial that it can’t be ruled out that “one or both parents” may have been involved in their son’s death. West has a history of mental illness and there were no eyewitnesses to the killing except West’s version of events. During the two-week trial the West’s adult daughter, Ashley Glassey, testified against her mother. She was uneasy West phoned her the day her brother was killed for advice on cashing in on his insurance policy. She also testified her mother’s account of what happened on the day kept on changing. The killing of Santiago on March 21 drew national attention and exposed simmering tension in the coastal city of Brunswick, with opinion sharply divided along racial lines. The court case was moved to Marietta because of the extensive publicity surrounding the case. At the start of the trial lawyer Gough objected to the racial makeup of potential jurors. After the verdict, Gough issued a statement that he plans to appeal. He told reporters the all-white jury could be one basis for requesting a new trial. “That was not a jury of his peers,” he said. Elkins’ mother, Karimah Elkins, was on trial alongside him and was found guilty of tampering with evidence but acquitted of lying to police. Do you think the teens were unfairly judged?

Dr. Cornel West Calls Al Sharpton A “Bonafide House Negro” Self-appointed political pundit Dr. Cornel West has become known for his outlandish opinions and rambling rhetoric, specifically those directed towards the Obama Administration, but his latest lashing out has more than a few folks in an uproar. Many felt that Dr. West hit below the belt when he likened Al Sharpton to a slave in response to his speech delivery during the 50th Anniversary Ceremony of the historic March on Washington earlier this week. via Mediaite Public intellectual Cornel West tore into many of this week’s speeches surrounding the 50th anniversary of Martin Luther King, Jr.‘s “I Have a Dream” speech, accusing everyone from President Obama to Rev. Al Sharpton of “sanitizing” Dr. King’s vision. “Brother Martin himself, I think, would’ve been turning over in his grave,” West said of the event. “[King would have wanted] people to talk about Wall Street criminality, he wants people to talk about war crimes, or drones dropping bombs on innocent people,” he asserted. “Instead,” he lamented, “we saw the coronation of the bonafide house negro of the Barack Obama plantation, our dear brother Al Sharpton.” West went further declaring that Sharpton’s decline was “supported by [MSNBC analyst] Michael Dyson and others who’ve prostituted themselves in a very ugly and vicious way.” West and Tavis Smiley both lamented that black leadership has become “so sold-out” so as not to have the courage to be a “bull in the china shop,” break rank, and talk about “racism, poverty, and militarism” at an otherwise “bought-out” event. Ann Coulter: Obama Brought Back Racism In America The wicked witch of the GOP, Ann Coulter , is once again (surprise!) discussing liberals and black folks in her new book. Via Marietta Daily Journal: Written by Ann Coulter The media’s fixation on the Trayvon Martin case, while ignoring much more brutal crimes with clearer racial motivations, is a return to pre-O.J. America. The thesis of my book, “Mugged: Racial Demagoguery From the Seventies to Obama” — out in paperback this week! — is that after decades of liberals play-acting Racist America, wherein they cast themselves as civil rights champions, and other, random white people as Bull Connor (a Democrat), it all ended with the O.J. verdict. That’s when white America said, That’s it. The white guilt bank is shut down. It was one of the best things that ever happened to America — especially for black people. But then in 2007, Barack Obama brought it all back. In order to immunize the most left-wing presidential candidate the nation has ever seen, the Non-Fox Media went into overdrive reporting their fantasies of America as a nation full of racists, constantly terrorizing innocent blacks. Of course, once Republicans got the Democrats to stop terrorizing black people, there was no one else doing it. Nonetheless, for decades, the media would highlight every apparent white-on-black crime, treating each such incident as the Crime of the Century. White-on-black crimes were, and are, freakishly rare. But the media weren’t showcasing these one-off events as man-bites-dog stories, but rather as dog-bites-man stories in a universe brimming with packs of rabid dogs. According to liberals, whites attacking blacks was an epidemic — a nationwide “cancer,” in the words of erstwhile NYC Mayor Ed Koch. n 1986, only 2.6 percent of all homicides in the entire country were white-on-black killings. Black criminals killed nearly three times as many white people (949) as whites killed blacks (378) and they killed 16 times as many black people (6,235) as whites did. So if you’re confused by the blanket coverage of the Trayvon Martin case — attracting even the attention of the president of the United States! — while far more common and more vicious black-on-white murders are ignored, try to understand that liberals are frightened by change. They are desperately clinging to a world that never existed. Their fantasy of an America bristling with racists allows them to portray any criticism of our massively incompetent and dangerous president as just another sad episode of oh-so-typical white racism. They have to protect Obama, so the rest of us have to get “Mugged.” Discuss… WENN

Black Homeland Security Employee Starts Racist Website A Black Homeland Security employee has been placed on administrative leave after it was discovered that he’d created an anti-white, anti-gay website calling for the killing of all gay people, white people and people of mixed race. via RT A Homeland Security employee who runs a racist website that predicts an “unavoidable, inevitable clash with the white race” has been placed on paid administrative leave by the agency. Ayo Kimathi, an acquisitions officer for Immigration and Customs Enforcement, calls himself the “Irritated Genie” and runs an anti-white, anti-gay website called the War on the Horizon (WOH). At the agency, the Homeland Security employee is in charge of the procurement of guns, handcuffs and ammunition for US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). Kimathi has worked at the Homeland Security Department since 2009. But the black supremacist spends nights and weekends preparing for a violent race war that he believes will soon sweep over the country. “Warfare is eminent, and in order for black people to survive the 21stcentury, we are going to have to kill a lot of whites – more than our Christian hearts can possibly count,” Kimathi wrote on his website, advocating the mass murder of white people, gays, those of mixed races and blacks who integrate with whites. He calls African-Americans who mix with other races “black-skinned Uncle Tom race traitors.” People are really out here losing their minds. SMH.

Rand Paul Compares Food Stamps To Slavery GOP babbling bigot Rand Paul is still out doing what he does best: put his foot in his mouth so far that he can’t get it out. In his latest rambling rant full of ridiculousness, Paul is likening food stamps to slavery, suggesting that the government providing food assistance to those who need it is equivalent to forcing people into labor. Oh. via Think Progress Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) equated government programs that prevent people from dying of starvation with slavery in a new profile of his medical practice published today, revealing himself to hold a view of the role of government so limited as to nearly define the state out of existence. Paul’s philosophical excursus is buried in the midst of the too-friendly-for-parody article (it ends with a patient waxing poetic about how Paul “loves people“), but the words are unmistakably Randian. “As humans, yeah, we do have an obligation to give people water, to give people food, to give people health care,” Paul allowed, “but it’s not a right because once you conscript people and say, ‘Oh, it’s a right,’ then really you’re in charge, it’s servitude, you’re in charge of me and I’m supposed to do whatever you tell me to do.” The comments are an echo of his 2011 claim that accepting a human right to health care “means you believe in slavery,” but the Senator’s new variation on the theme is notable because it puts the reasoning behind the crazy in stark relief. Particularly, this line: “You don’t have a right to anyone else’s labor. Food’s pretty important, do you have a right to the labor of the farmer?” The basic idea is that if slavery means forcing people to do things, and saying people have a right to food means the government should require farmers to provide it to them, then a right to food means the enslavement of farmers. A moderately bright high school student could spot the leap of logic here: no one’s forcing anyone to farm against their will. Like all of Paul Rand’s other bullish, this sounds ridiculous to us. Lee Daniels Responds To Black Women Backlash In a recent interview with Larry King, gay director Lee Daniels addressed the topic of homophobia in the Black community as well as comments about how AIDS affects African American women that offended a lot of people. “I think they (black gay men) are prejudiced upon even from the African Americans too. I think that the reason we have AIDS…I did a movie called ‘Precious’ and when I was doing the research for ‘Precious,’ I walked into the gay mens health crisis center in New York City and I expected to see studying [of] AIDS and HIV, I expected to see a room full of gay men, but there are nothing but women that are there – black women with kids, I thought I had walked into the welfare office – but they service black women with AIDS, why?… Because black men can’t come out. Why? Because you simply can’t do it. Your family says it, your church says it, your teachers say it, your parents say it, your friends say it, your work says it. And so you’re living on this DL thing and you’re infecting black women.” Lee sat down with HuffPo to clarify his quote and the backlash: “To be a gay man, I’m obsessed with and I’m in love with black women. They are everything to me. From my mother, to my grandmother, my sisters…they are me because they embraced me when black men didn’t embrace me. So I fall to the floor for every black woman. “I wish I were straight because I love women so much. I love black women.
