Forget caroling for the holidays. Major music acts spent the last few days Jingle Balling. Stars such as Selena Gomez, Katy Perry and Justin Bieber performed at Jingle Ball concerts hosted by radio stations across the country, from New York to Florida. The latest took place last night, as Y100 gathered artists at the BankAtlantic Center in Sunrise, FL. American Idol Winner: Lee DeWyze!

It was a slow, but steady rise to the top for Lee DeWyze. But it all paid off tonight, as the laid back rocker with the sexy, scratchy voice was crowned season nine champion on American Idol ! DeWyze peaked at the ideal time, bringing the crowd and judges to their feet with his recent rendition of ” Hallelujah ” last week. He then carried that momentum into the finale and defeated a worthy competitor, Crystal Bowersox. Send in your congratulations to Lee right now and sound off: Did he deserve to win? A choked-up DeWyze accepted Ryan Seacrest’s congratulations after the announcement and proceeded to sing his cover of “Beautiful Day,” which will soon hit radio stations around the country. Somali radio stations comply with Islamists’ music ban

“Most radio stations in Somalia have stopped playing music, on the orders of Islamist Hizbul-Islam insurgents who say that songs are un-Islamic. The stations said they had to comply with the ban as if they did not, they would be putting their lives at risk. The BBC correspondent in Somalia says this latest order has strong echoes of the Taliban in Afghanistan. In the past, militants in some areas have banned watching films and football and made men's beards compulsory. Somalia has not had a functioning central government since 1991 and the Islamist militants control large parts of its territory. Chris Brown to Fans: Keep Me Relevant!

Chris Brown really wants to stay relevant. That much is obvious, but the fact that he’s literally begging his fans to help that cause is pretty funny/sad. Brown used an audio message to spread the desperate plea. His message is available through SayNow.com, a website in which stars can record messages for fans … of which he apparently has fewer die-hards than the old days. In the message, the felony woman beater begs fans to help “bring me back,” saying that he won’t name names, but “a lot of radio stations aren’t playing my records.” “They are not being that supportive and I wouldn’t expect them to.” A studious Chris Brown hopes for radio redemption. Brown goes on to say he’s “a better guy now” … but says “[My music] won’t be possible if I’m not relevant on the radio … I can’t be an underground mix tape artist.” Chris’ popularity has understandably taken a beating ever since he doled one out to Rihanna a year ago. His latest album, Graffiti, was somewhat of a sales letdown. We believe in second chances, sure, but calling out stores and stations for blackballing your album (true or not) isn’t the way to go, Chris. It just makes you look petty.

No, not the kind of hope that I will one day crawl inside her fat ass pussy and die from the smells, but because there was once a pop star named Lisa Left Eye Lopez and Aalyiah who went on similar vacations back to the islands and never came back to pollute our radio stations again and they weren’t nearly as offensive as Rihanna.
