Hi , my name’s Nicolette and I’ve been a belieber since One Time. I bought Justin’s CDs supported him through everything, I went to his My World Tour when it came to Philly and I went to two of Q102’s Jingle Ball concerts when he was there. But 2010 was the best year of my life for a lot of reasons , and I thought only one thing could make it better was meeting Justin Bieber! It was the end of November 2010 and I heard Justin would be at Q102’s Jingle Ball. I really really wanted to go , but like a lot of people, my family was short on money so we couldn’t buy tickets. My mom and I did everything to try and win tickets. Q102 had a bunch of contests on the radio where you call in and win tickets, that was extremely hard. One night , there was a raffle at about 7pm. I was on Facebook talking to my friend, when I got a notification that someone wrote on my wall, it was completely random and I was confused. I got to the wall post and it said “Haha, I just heard your mom on the radio”. I stopped everything I was doing, I didn’t call my mom because I knew she would be on the phone with the Q102 people if it was true . I was shaking , just sitting waiting for my mom to call. Then the phone rings and my mom said, “Did you hear?” The day of the concert, December 8th 2010 I was in school spazzing waiting for the day to be over . Then we went to the meet & greet. We could see Justin, I saw Kenny too. We were next in line, I was in complete shock, I couldn’t feel my legs and I was just smiling the entire time. Kenny waved us over to come in the picture. I stood on one side of Justin and Izzy stood on the other. He put his arm around both of us and I just held onto him. But while the other people were getting in the picture, I said, “See, I never said never and look, now I’m meeting you”. I saw Justin smile. Then they took the picture . I asked Justin for a hug and he leaned in, and just hugged me. Well my world stopped. Then we left the room , and ran out screaming “WE STOOD NEXT TO HIM! HE HUGGED US! OH MY GOSH WE STOOD NEXT TO AND HUGGED JUSTIN BIEBER!” Later we went out and enjoyed the rest of the concert . It was the best day and most amazing day of my life, I really still cant believe it happend. Believe In Everything Because Everythings Reachable. #NeverSayNever. Thanks for an amazing day Justin , I’ll love you forever ♥ Love , Nicolette See more here: Hi , my name’s Nicolette and I’ve been a belieber…

After reuniting last year, the grunge gods prove they can still shred. By Mary J. DiMeglio Chris Cornell (file) Photo: Bill McCay/ Getty Images MORRISON, Colorado — An ecstatic-looking Chris Cornell gazed over the Red Rocks Amphitheater on Monday night and declared, “We’re Soundgarden , and we’re back.” Setting off the night with “Searching with My Good Eye Closed” from 1991’s Badmotorfinger and the Grammy-winning “Spoonman,” one of their first big hits, the recently reunited grunge gods quickly cleared any doubts about whether they still had it, even after 14 years apart. “We’re doing this because of you,” Cornell professed. After the frontman encouraged the crowd to “smoke it all so you don’t get busted on the way home,” the band unleashed “Jesus Christ Pose,” with Matt Cameron’s pummeling of the drums reminding everyone that while he’s served as drummer for Pearl Jam since Soundgarden’s 1997 breakup, it was his work with tonight’s headliner that made him sought after. The band then allowed the audience to take a breath, slowing down the already-sleepy “Blow Up the Outside World.” The song’s fade out had the sold-out crowd of 9,400 chanting in unison. Cornell reveled at the venue his reformed group had taken on. “We played here before, and maybe a little bit was lost on us,” he said. “It’s f—ing amazing.” Between songs, he coaxed attendees to shriek just for the hell of it, giving props to the amphitheater’s legendary acoustics. “This big rock over here and this one over there,” he said, referencing the two giant stones that flank the seating area, “it acts like a speaker, funnels down to my head. It’s trippy.” The Seattle foursome revisited their breakthrough album, Superunknown, for three in row, following “The Day I Tried to Live” with “My Wave” and “Fell on Black Days.” They went all the way back to their Screaming Life/Fopp EP for “Nothing to Say” and shredded eardrums with “Rusty Cage.” For “Outshined,” Cornell dropped his guitar in favor of a microphone stand as his temporary weapon of choice, alternately waving it and pounding it into the stage. As seasoned bands often do, Soundgarden changed up some of their biggest hits when most fans probably would have preferred the radio version. And while Cornell shied away from some of the notes on the choruses of “Black Hole Sun” and “Pretty Noose,” it seems he was saving his pipes for the set-ending fan favorite “Slaves & Bulldozers.” Having admirably conquered the night’s 20-plus selections, Cornell explored the heights of his iconic wail without hesitation. The band — which released its first-ever live album, Live on the I-5, earlier this year — is currently crafting its first studio LP since 1996. Though nothing new was debuted during Monday night’s hit parade, fans can be hopeful that they channel the passion they displayed for their old material. Ricky Bell recalls to MTV News ‘going to the mansion and seeing him skip down the stairs.’ By Rob Markman New Edition Photo: MTV News New Edition are fast approaching 30 years in the music biz, and the Boston boys have a ton of memories since dropping their debut album, Candy Girl, in 1983. For Johnny Gill, his favorite came in 1990 when NE reunited on the MTV Video Music Awards; for Ralph Tresvant, his best memory came after hearing the group’s song on the radio for the first time. Ricky Bell, nodded in agreement, but then recalled another special time — meeting the King of Pop. “I guess Ralph took my number one, but number two would probably be meeting Michael Jackson, being invited to his house. Going to the mansion and seeing him skip down the stairs,” Bell told MTV News before the group performed at DJ Cassidy’s 30th birthday party in New York City on July 6. “Just to meet someone, that icon who inspired you, is a moment I’ll never forget.” New Edition — which includes Bobby Brown, Tresvant, Gill, Bell, Ronnie DeVoe and Michael Bivins — are in the middle of a reunion run after performing in New Orleans at the 2011 Essence Music Festival . In addition to a number of shows they are performing together, NE also have a new album in the works, and if they have it their way, they will continue to add on to three decades’ worth of memorable moments. For Brown, though, it will always start at the beginning. “For me, 30 years would probably be just meeting them,” he said of his bandmates. “Meeting them and being able to have friends in my life and have brothers in my life that weren’t blood brothers, but they were my brothers and they took care of me.” Share your memories of New Edition’s nearly 30 years in the comments below! MTV News correspondent tries to coax Em to freestyle on first broadcast of ‘Sway in the Morning.’ By Rob Markman MTV News’ Sway Calloway hosts the first day of his new radio show “Sway in the Morning” Photo: Michael Loccisano/ Getty Images Sway ‘s a.m. takeover has begun. On Monday (July 18), the MTV News correspondent broadcast his first episode of “Sway in the Morning” on Sirius XM’s Shade 45 , and in addition to playing hip-hop’s hottest tunes, he conducted interviews with Bun B, Lupe Fiasco, Diggy Simmons, Estelle and “Entourage” actor Jerry Ferrara; even Eminem called in to toast the new host. “You played such a vital part in my career and such a big role in hip-hop, we’re just happy to have you,” Eminem, who owns Shade 45, said to Sway. But when Calloway asked for a freestyle, Em joked, “It might be dial tone.” Sway also unearthed an old interview that he conducted with Em, dating back to when the rapper first signed with Dr. Dre. ‘When Em got signed, he came to our house in L.A., and he was just like, ‘Man, I got this opportunity with Dre,’ ” Sway recalled of his and King Tech’s earlier interactions with Em on their legendary on-air “Wake Up Show” in the late 1990s. “Then we had him come up on the radio show to make that announcement and he busted a freestyle, so we played that segment.” That wasn’t all for the debut broadcast: Sway, who co-hosted with Houston on-air personality Devi Dev, played a portion of a never-before-aired interview with the late Tupac Shakur from the set of his “How Do U Want It” video. In the clip, ‘Pac expresses his love for Oakland and downplays the East Coast/ West Coast rivalry of the mid-1990s. “I felt like whatever I am, the Bay Area had something to do with making. So if I’m bad, they had something to do with making me. If I’m good, then they had something to do with making me,” ‘Pac says before showing love to the various cities where he spent his formative years. “Between the East Coast, the Bay Area, L.A. and Baltimore, those places made me.” “All in all, it was good,” Sway told us after the show wrapped on Monday. “We played a lot of hip-hop music and made a good relationship [with the listeners]. I’m going to try to tie in all of these worlds: MTV, Shade 45, pop, politics, culture, music, all of that. At the end of the day, that’s the vision for the show.” Related Artists Eminem

My name is Danielle, and my Bieber Experience was on June 30th, 2011. I knew Justin was in town in New York City during that whole week for the release of his perfume and many television appearances. I was determined to meet him during this week. But let me start off by saying that this isn’t my first attempt at trying to meet Justin. I’ve tried everything; hotels, TV appearances, everything. But on that one day, all my hard work had finally paid off. Now, back to what happened. My friends and I started off this week by going off to his hotel the day of his perfume launch. It was pouring the entire day, and I had met Ryan Good there for about the third time (1st time was the day after the “First Step 2 Forever” book signing, and the second was the day Justin was on the show, The Seven, MTV). It was an amazing day, even though I didn’t meet Justin. He was in such a hurry to get to Macy’s and he just left through the garage. But, I didn’t keep what happened that day and any of the previous failed attempts from stopping me. Now finally on the 30th, a few friends of mine had let me in on a little secret. A somewhat small group of us had gone to his hotel, hoping to meet him. I went into it, hoping for the best. Finally, the time I’d been hoping for had finally come. Justin and Selena had walked out of the entrance of their hotel, with Kenny right behind. My friend pulled my arm and dragged me to go get a picture with them. I could barely say a word, I’m lucky if I muttered the word, “Justin.” On that day, I had finally gotten my picture with Justin and met one of my idols. The rest of the day ran very smoothly, and I managed to see both Justin and Selena two more times. And to those who say that Justin doesn’t care about his fans, is wrong. Even though he was in a rush, he managed to stop, and the second time, you could tell he needed to be some place, but he said, to all that were there at the time, “Thanks you guys. I love you all.” I don’t think I could have been any happier that my dream had finally come true, and to top it all off, Selena was there with him. It makes me happy to see that they’re both happy, not only in front of the cameras, but behind them as well. I will support Jelena, no matter what anyone says. I just want to thank all of those people that were there with me that day because it is definitely one day I will NEVER forget. I feel extremely honored to be writing a MBE, because in all honesty, I never thought this day would come. Hard work, determination, and praying after two years of being a Belieber paid off. And if you’re reading this saying your time will never come, your time will come when you least expect it. -@BeliebinRush Go here to read the rest: My name is Danielle, and my Bieber Experience was on June 30th,…

I met Justin Bieber on February 6, 2010 . In my opinion, he wasn’t such a big star yet. I won tickets to a Y-Underground mini-show, which is a secret show held by Y100 in Miami where you don’t know who the artist is until you show up. Of course the radio station gave hints as to who it would be, and I was super excited. We got to the station and I’ve never seen so many people waiting to go inside! I got there early though, so I was right in the front. It was absolutely crazy. When he came out, the entire room went nuts. He performed a few songs and then we got in line for a photo-op with Justin. Back then, he was quiet and a little bit shy, which he’s obviously grown out of. I’m not sure what else to say, but it was a great experience! -Christine Read more: I met Justin Bieber on February 6, 2010. In my opinion, he…
