This Katherine Webb is ready to straight “Roll Tide” right over Kimmy Cakes! Known as Miss Alabama and University of Alabama QB A.J. McCarron’s girlfriend, Webb was recently asked to pose for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue, out next month. Check out her interview with SI below: SI.com: How surprised were you to get the call from Sports Illustrated? Webb: I was completely dumbfounded. It was so shocking to me because literally overnight I go from being AJ’s girlfriend and going to support him in the championship game to being on every major media news outlet. It’s just so surprising to me. I don’t know what God has planned, but obviously he’s working on something. When Sports Illustrated called it just became even more real that this is happening. Every single model wants to be in Sports Illustrated, and I feel extremely blessed to have that opportunity. SI.com: So it’s safe to assume you said yes right away when you got the call? Webb: Oh, my gosh. Absolutely. I’ve been approached by different publications, but I think a lot of America appreciated how classy I was, and I got a lot of responses saying I was America’s sweetheart and all that kind of stuff. I’m from Alabama and I have morals and I have class. That’s my personality. A lot of people have said I’m the anti-Kim Kardashian and I’m all right with that. SI.com: Well, Kim Kardashian has done all right for herself. Webb: She made herself into who she is and that’s fine and all that. But I guess the way I want to go about all this is, I just want to have a positive image for myself. I want girls to be able to look up to me and to say, “I want to be just like her one day.” That’s what I did as Miss Alabama and I loved that. SI.com: How long have you done modeling? Webb: I’ve done modeling since I was 18, but it didn’t take off until I moved to Los Angeles. Modeling has always been something I’ve been really good at, and has been something that’s helped pay bills. And it’s something I enjoy doing, as well. Every model wants to be successful in her career, so for Sports Illustrated to reach out to me is just amazing. I couldn’t be anymore blessed. SI.com: Take me through Monday night. You’re at the game, it got boring quickly, although maybe not for you, but for most people, and then a wave of buzz happens from Brent Musburger’s comments to your Twitter blowing up. What was that night like? Webb: I don’t think it became real to me until after I left the stadium and a reporter walked up to me and asked if I realized what was happening, because my phone was dead, so I had no idea what was going on. He was like, “Do you realize you are the star of the game?” I was like, “No, what are you talking about?” So he told me the cameras focused on me and AJ’s mom and I had over 100,000 Twitter followers, and I was like “Wait a minute, are you serious?” SI.com: Did you get a chance to at least celebrate Alabama’s win? Webb: Yeah. Afterward, all the football players went back to the hotel where they were staying. I left immediately and went straight to the hotel. By then, I had charged my phone, so I kinda knew what was happening. Immediately after I stepped out of the car and walked into the hotel, I had people come up to me asking me for autographs and asking me to sign memorabilia, and that stuff is now being sold on eBay. But we did end up celebrating all night. I didn’t get any sleep. I didn’t close my eyes for 24 hours. SI.com: With newfound fame comes a downside. What’s been the best and worst part of this week? Webb: I’ve realized you’re not going to please everyone and you’re not going to appeal to everyone and show who you are to everyone. That’s one of the downsides. But the upside is that one thing I want to do is be a good role model. Hollywood has such few good role models and I partially feel like this is why this has happened for me, and I really want to promote that and do good for others. SI.com: What has it been like to be an Auburn grad dating an Alabama student? Can you even walk around the Auburn campus anymore? Webb: Luckily, I graduated in May 2011, so I haven’t had a reason to go back on campus unless it’s been for a football game. I’ve had a little bit of backlash from Auburn, and I understand. Auburn and Alabama have one of the biggest rivalries in all of college football. But I lived in Los Angeles and there aren’t a lot of great guys in L.A., so for me to find someone who has a good, humble heart and who is amazing and treats me so well, that’s a really special find for me. At the end of the day, football is just a game. I don’t care if he’s from Alabama or wherever, I don’t pay attention to the rivalry when it comes to my personal relationship. SI.com: So what else is next for you? Webb: I’ve had opportunities to do hosting and some television shows. But right now I’m just going along for the ride and seeing what happens. But at the end of the day, my relationship with AJ is what’s important and if this stuff is going to hinder the relationship, then I don’t have a problem saying no to certain things, especially if they’d embarrass me or his family. The news of Jurassic Park 4 probably sent a lot of you scrambling for your brain’s groan button, and I can’t blame you. Though the original film is an important milestone in special effects, and boasts the last decent score John Williams ever wrote*, it preserved Michael Crichton’s dubious grasp of human nature and the book’s b-movie philosophizing – and the less said about the sequels, the better (especially the second film, which seems to consist largely of references to classic monster movies). Still! The dinosaurs, even the ones created using paleolithic CGI back in 1993, look insanely great, and given the advances in special effects that have occurred just in the 12 years since Jurassic Park 3 we can look forward to even more spectacular sauropods. But it isn’t just CGI that has advanced in the last twenty years; paleontology has also made some rather amazing discoveries. Beginning with the discovery of the feathered Sinosauropteryx fossil in 1996, over 30 new specimens have been found, and scientists are beginning to conclude that almost all dinosaur species probably had a coat of feathers. That sounds like a small difference, but it’s huge when you consider how radically that changes the appearance of these beasts. Despite the fact that the first feathered fossils of Archaeopertyx were discovered in the 1860s, dinosaurs were still seen in a largely reptilian context until quite recently. The 1970s and ’80s saw some major breakthroughs (among them the acceptance of the asteroid collision theory of dinosaur extinction), but even though the relationship between birds and dinosaurs was becoming more fully understood, that context remained the norm. Now, it would be a mistake to assume anything in Crichton’s novel is scientific, but his book did make great effort to plausibly reflect the consensus at the time. Jurassic Park , published in 1990, partly reflects that consensus. Dinosaurs in the novel were cloned from preserved DNA found in fossilized amber, with gaps in decayed DNA filled in using amphibian, reptile, and avian DNA. And regardless of the DNA used, as we saw in the film, with the exception of Velociraptors, they still largely resembled giant reptiles. However, Spielberg & Co. have the chance to update their look, and best of all it wouldn’t even require much of a stretch, plotwise, to explain the genetic retcon. Simply explain that advances in paleontology proved that their previous cloning relied too heavily on amphibian and reptile DNA. New clones corrected that mistake, relying more on avian DNA, and the result is a pack of dinosaurs that bear colorful plumage that would make Liberace seethe with jealousy. This doesn’t even begin to get into the new species we’ve discovered, like the aforementioned Sinosauropteryx (which would have been about the size of a chicken), that could populate the new film. And why should it have to? Apparently, T-Rex probably had feathers too. I could think of nothing cooler than that. Britney Spears thinks having her fiance, Jason Trawick, as her co-conservator is a total buzzkill for their relationship and wants him gone ASAP, reports say. In that role, he is in charge of her finances and other decisions; the singer has been under the legal conservatorship since melting down in early 2008. “Britney wants Jason removed. He was appointed to the position when she joined The X Factor so that he could be with her at all times while on set,” a source says. “The relationship has been more than slightly rocky in the past few months and Brit attributes that to having her man essentially being one of her babysitters.” “It has killed the romance in the relationship, and she wants to get it back.” Britney split rumors have run rampant in recent months, and this is a big reason why. The legal and business aspect of their relationship has taken over. “Jason is co-conservator of Spears as a person, meaning he controls who she sees, where she goes, etc. Her father has had that role since day one.” “She thinks it should be [Jamie Spears] and only him, and not Jason anymore. Jason is in full agreement and supports her decision,” the insider added. Is a breakup imminent ? Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult broke up, according to Us Weekly . The couple mutually ended their two-year relationship very recently. The Hunger Games actress, 22, and Skins actor, 23, met on the set of X-Men: First Class in 2010; they played one another’s love interests in the film. Lawrence, who was recently named Most Desirable Woman of 2012 , hasn’t given any indication the relationship was heading south in recent interviews. “He is honestly my best friend, and hopefully I’m his best friend, too,” the Silver Linings Playbook star told Elle magazine in its December cover story. “He’s my favorite person to be around and makes me laugh harder than anybody.” Fortunately for Jen, she’ll have ample distractions in the next few months as she tries to move on from the breakup – it’s awards season in Hollywood. Karrueche Tran hasn’t had much to say about her lil love triangle. Until now. The aspiring fashion designer opened up in a new interview with VIBE and revealed lots about her career as a stylist and fashion designer as well as her relationship with Chris Brown and The Kill, the unisex fashion line they’re collaborating on. Here are some excerpts from her interview with VIBE : VIBE: How did you come up with the concepts for your clothing line? Karrueche Tran: Chris [Brown] wanted to do a female line for his men’s line [“Black Pyramid”]. So he asked me to take over and “The Kill” was gonna be a women’s only line but it’s actually unisex. How long have you two been planning this? It’s been a few months. When I first started, I pretty much thought of the name. Then from there, we started making very basic sample t-shirts, hats, beanies and socks. That’s what a lot of people saw online and on Instagram. They saw certain people wearing it, so it created this really big buzz in our very first stages. We got a little bit ahead of ourselves and we wanted to do this really awesome launch on 12/12/12, but we kinda had to slow it down ‘cause things weren’t 100% completely done. That’s why we waited. How is the name “The Kill” representative of your life? I was at home one day and this song “In For The Kill” by La Roux was stuck in my head, so “The Kill” stuck out to me. When people first started hearing about you, you were labeled as “an aspiring model.” Are you still doing that now? I never was an official model. I always tell people I’m not a model but I’ve done modeling. Now I’m signed with a commercial agency, so hopefully that is going to pick up but before I was just doing favors for friends who needed somebody for their lookbook. I could tell you deal well with a lot of pain because of all your tattoos. Describe all the ones you have and what they mean. My first tattoo is in Arabic. It goes down my spine and it says ‘an ounce of blood is worth more than a pound of friendship.’ Now on my side, I have a Spanish proverb and it says, ‘A beautiful life does not just happen, it is built daily by prayer, sacrifice, humility and love. Looking at Jodi Arias photos, you’d never expect she were being tried for killing someone, but she very much is; her sensational murder trial is now underway. In what is expected to be one of the most watched trials since Casey Anthony ‘s, Arias is accused of murdering ex-boyfriend Travis Alexander in cold blood. The now-32-year-old looks more like an aspiring model than a murderer in photos posted on her MySpace page, but prosecutors say she’s anything but innocent. Jodi Arias allegedly shot motivational speaker Travis Alexander in the face and then stabbed him 27 times, slitting his throat from ear to ear in June 2008. Prosecutors want to make her the fourth woman on Arizona’s death row. In other photos from a happier time, Arias and Alexander, who met at a conference in Las Vegas in September 2006, certainly seemed happy. Arias says they fell in love, traveled the country together, and to strengthen her ties to the devout Mormon, she even converted to his religion. During their passionate, long distance relationship between Yreka, Calif., and Mesa, Arizona, they spoke everyday and exchanged 82,000 e-mails. But Alexander’s friends say after dating a few months, he tried to break it off, and she followed the object of her affection to his hometown, even after they split. When Alexander’s roommates found his body they suspected his lover, gave a 911 operator Jodi’s name and said she’d been “bothering” him and slashed his tires. “If he talked about another girl or looked at another girl… she just had this evil smirk. You could just tell she was the type of person that could smile while she slit your throat ,” said close pal Dave Hall. “Pardon the pun there, in light of what’s going on.” “She might be eye candy on the outside. But I just thought, her personality is not very… talkative. Very quiet, she just had a vibe about her that just was really mysterious.” Arias, who has been locked up since her arrest, has pleaded not guilty to first-degree murder. Her version of events has changed multiple times. “I didn’t hurt Travis. I would never hurt Travis,” Arias said in a jailhouse interview. “I would be shaking in my boots right now if I had to answer to God for such a heinous crime.” At first, Arias denied being at Alexander’s house that night. Then cops found a camera in the washing machine containing pictures of the two having sex that day. There were also photos of Alexander after he was killed. Faced with that evidence, Arias then told Inside Edition that she was there, but didn’t kill him. “I witnessed Travis being attacked by two other individuals,” she said on Inside Edition. “Who were they? I don’t know. I couldn’t pick them up in a police lineup.” Now, Arias admits that she did kill Alexander, but she claims that it was in self-defense, because she was sexually and physically abused during their relationship. Steven Alexander, Travis’ brother, said that he can see Arias for who she truly is. “It makes me sick because I know her true side,” he told ABC News. “I ask people to please not buy into this sweet innocent personality that she puts on.”
