Heidi Klum and Seal have officially confirmed that they’re planning to divorce on Sunday, after rumors swirled that the couple were splitting after almost seven years of marriage. TMZ has learned that the reason for the breakup is that Heidi is tired of Seal’s temper. We’re hearing that their careers also played a part in Heidi’s decision. She’s the bread winner in the family and their busy schedules created a distance between them. In an exclusive statement to People, Klum and Seal said: “ While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate.” “We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart. ‘Everybody felt what I was saying and was riding,’ former Murder Inc. boss says about October ‘RapFix Live’ appearance. By Rob Markman Irv Gotti Photo: MTV News No matter if he was producing hits for Jay-Z or J.Lo or running Murder, Inc Records, Irv Gotti always approached the game with passion. Gotti brought that same love to MTV’s “RapFix Live” in October when he essentially campaigned to become Def Jam’s next president . “It caused a buzz, and I want people to know I didn’t start the whole ‘Irv Gotti for president’ thing; the people did,” the former Def Jam A&R told MTV News as he walked the red carpet at the reopening of Jay-Z’s 40/40 Club in Manhattan last week. “It was a crazy thing, and it was all good.” Gotti has a storied relationship with the groundbreaking rap label. After he produced “Can I Live” from Hov’s 1996 debut, Reasonable Doubt, Irv helped set up a deal between Jay’s Roc-A-Fella Records and Def Jam. Next, Gotti coaxed DMX to the powerhouse label and then Ja Rule. In 2005, the federal government charged Gotti’s Murder Inc. label with money laundering, and even though Irv was cleared of the charges , his relationship with Def Jam soured. Back in October, Irv made his pitch to return to the record company in a very big way. “If you don’t want to hire me — the best man for the job, the man who will die for it — cool, I understand. You think I’m Suge Knight, you think the feds may come in here again if you hire me, cool,” he said at the time. “Put somebody in there, because you not giving any sign or any indication that you care about my culture.” A number of artists and industry mainstays spoke out in support of Irv, while others quietly championed him behind the scenes. “It was one of the best ‘RapFix’ [interviews] ever,” Jadakiss told MTV News in November. “He said a lot of stuff that doesn’t get said. He was able to [vent] without hating on the record labels or channeling any hate. … Everything he said — me being on the inside looking out and him being on the inside looking out but now on the outside looking in — I think he nailed every point. I think everything he said was excellent, and almost everything was true.” It doesn’t seem like Def Jam brass will put Irv in the big chair, but Gotti is appreciative of the support he has gotten from the hip-hop community. “Everybody was riding. Hollywood doesn’t believe that Black America will support a movie like Red Tails , and many African-Americans are making it a point to make to see the film this weekend to help boost the box office numbers. But how is Red Tails doing? So far, the movie is exceeding expectations. However, studio execs don’t expect the support to last. Red Tails is currently on track to make$15-$18 million this weekend, and $6-8 million today (January 20th). This would make Red Tails the No. 2 film in theaters, behind Underworld Awakening starring Kate Beckinsale and Michael Ely, which should bring in $24-$27 million. David Arquette and Christina McLarty made their first red carpet appearance as a couple this weekend, posing together at the Art of Elysium Heaven Gala in Los Angeles and looking happy as can be. “We’re serious,” the actor told E! News of the relationship. “But we’re having fun.” McLarty lives in New York City and works as a reporter for Entertainment Tonight , which means the couple does the long distance thing with Arquette based on L.A. “We’re making it work,” Arquette said. “We try to do a no more than two weeks [apart] rule. McLarty and Arquette started dating in September, around the same time as the latter’s stint on Dancing with the Stars . Reality star won’t appear in new Super Bowl ad but Skechers CEO says claims that Kardashian was replaced are ‘misleading.’ By James Montgomery Kim Kardashian Photo: Marianna Massey/ WireImage Kim Kardashian won’t be featured in Skechers’ upcoming Super Bowl ad — that honor goes to a French bulldog — but that doesn’t mean she’s been replaced. Earlier this week, reports surfaced that the shoe manufacturer had, uh, booted Kardashian as their spokesperson — she appeared in a steamy spot for Skechers’ Shape-Up shoe that aired during Super Bowl XLV — a move their president claimed was meant “to establish Skechers as more than a lifestyle company.” Of course, those reports also spawned a series of headlines suggesting Kardashian had been replaced in favor of the French bulldog (with some speculating her brief marriage to Kris Humphries was behind the decision). But according to Skechers’ CEO Robert Greenberg, that simply wasn’t the case. Instead (and less salaciously), the new commercial had everything to do with Kardashian’s contract with the company coming to an end. “Kim Kardashian has had a tremendously positive effect on the Skechers brand … she played a big part in Skechers moving up last year from 388 to 99 among companies with the highest brand trust,” Greenberg said in a statement . “While Kim’s contract with Skechers simply came to an end at the end of last year, we continue to have a great relationship with her … to say that she was ‘dropped’ or ‘replaced’ is misleading and untrue. Skechers has enjoyed and continues to enjoy the relationship with Kim, and in fact we continue to discuss ways that we may work together in the future.” Instead of Kardashian, this year’s Skechers Super Bowl spot features a French bulldog who dons the company’s new GOrun sneakers and races a pack of greyhounds.
