Did Mike Tyson just deliver a knockout punch to Jeb Bush, Ben Carson and other Republican nominees for President? Probably not. But the former heavyweight champion of the world did step into the political ring during a recent interview with The Huffington Post, making it very clear who has his support. Speaking about Donald Trump, Tyson said simply, “he should be President of the United States,” going on to explain: “Let's try something new. Let's run America like a business, where no colors matter. Whoever can do the job, gets the job.” What about the comments Trump has made about women ? What about what Trump said about Mexicans ? And then about other immigrants? Tyson admitted some of these remarks may have been a tad on the “crude” side, but whatever. That's Iron Mike's basic take. Tyson doesn't believe Trump actually “thinks of Latinos in that [negative] way,” offering no real evidence to back up this assertion. The former boxer went on to say he would absolutely “endorse” Trump for real if asked, though Trump's campaign is yet to reach out and inquire. It is worth noting that Tyson may have changed his reputation over recent years by appearing in The Hangover movies and even starring in a Broadway play. But the guy did go to jail for rape. He also has a tattoo on his face. And he also once bit off part of Evander Holyfield's ear inside the ring during a match. Even Donald Trump may not want him in his corner. (Eh, who are we kidding? In March of 2014, Institute for Basic Life Principles founder Bill Gothard resigned in disgrace amidst allegations that he had sexually abused dozens of female employees. Last month, after more than a year away from the public eye, Gothard – who might be best known for his close relationship to the Duggar family – relaunched his website and social media accounts, and was immediately bombarded with accusations of sexual assault . His alleged victims said it was their way of sending Gothard the message that his crimes have not been forgotten, and that they intend to see him in court. Yesterday, five of those women – Gretchen Wilkinson, Charis Barker, Rachel Frost, Rachel Lees and a Jane Doe – made good on that promise by filing a lawsuit against Gothard in which they each seek $50,000 in damages. Obviously, the suit could prove profoundly damaging for Gothard and his ministry, particularly since it may inspire more of his alleged victims (over 30 in total) to take legal action. It may also have a negative impact on the reputation of Gothard’s most famous followers – the Duggar family. The 80-year-old pastor has been linked to the Duggars for decades and may be responsible for some of their most controversial beliefs and actions. Gothard was involved in “counseling” Josh Duggar after the Michelle and Jim Bob’s eldest admitted to molesting his sisters. In addition, his IBLP provided the Duggars with homeschooling curricula that teaches children that victims of sexual assault are partially to blame for their attackers’ actions. While the family is in no way directly linked to the allegations against Gothard, if a court finds that the minister used his power to “cover up sexual abuse and harassment” (as the suit alleges), the Duggars’ already-shrinking fan base may be reminded of the ways in which the 19 Kids and Counting clan did the same. On August 6, Jon Stewart’s tenure as host of The Daily Show will come to an end. Though a comic by trade, over the past 16 years, Stewart has become one of the most trusted names in news, and when he announced his retirement back in February, it came as a shock to many left-leaning comedy fans and political junkies. While Stewart’s time on The Daily Show may have earned him the undying respect of his peers and a place among the most beloved American humorists in recent history, his reputation took a major hit yesterday as a result of comments made by former costar Wyatt Cenac. Appearing on Marc Maron’s WTF Podcast, Cenac stated that he initially idolized Stewart and viewed him as something of a father figure. That all changed once the two of them began working together. It seems that at one point, Cenac expressed his discomfort with the racial undertones in Stewart’s impersonation of then-presidential candidate Herman Cain. According to Cenac, Stewart was decidedly unhappy with the criticism: “[Stewart] got incredibly defensive,” Cenac said “I remember he was like, ‘What are you trying to say? There’s a tone in your voice.’ I was like, ‘There’s no tone. It bothered me.'” “And he stood up and he was just like, “Fuck off. I’m done with you.” And he just started screaming that to me. And he screamed it a few times. “Fuck off! I’m done with you.” And he stormed out. And I didn’t know if I had been fired.” It turns out Cenac was not fired, but his working relationship with Stewart was forever damaged: “I was shaking, and I just sat there by myself on the bleachers and f–king cried,” Cenac told Maron “And it’s a sad thing. Via PageSix : Bruce Jenner was taking hormones, as part of his gender transition, at the time of Saturday’s deadly car crash near Los Angeles, sources close to the Olympic hero said. The gold medalist made the admission to a health care worker as his blood was being drawn during the ongoing criminal probe, according to a report from Radar Online on Monday. “There is no suggestion that the hormones were a contributing factor in the tragic accident,” a source close to Jenner told the site.
