Source: Rich Polk / Getty Anthony Mackie Says He And Chris Evans Cried Over Avengers Ending *SPOILER ALERT for anyone who hasn’t seen Avengers: Endgame yet–stop reading immediately* One of the biggest moments of Avengers: Endgame happened at the very end, when we learn about Steve Rogers’ fate–which concludes with him handing off his shield to Anthony Mackie’s Sam Wilson. Even though Wilson eventually becomes Captain America in the comic books, Mackie says that he still didn’t expect the transition to happen on-screen–he wasn’t even aware of his own future until his co-star Chris Evans informed him. “We were at his house and he goes, ‘You excited?’ And I go, ‘What you talking about? And he goes, ‘You don’t know?’ He jumps up, runs out of the room and comes back in with the script. He’s like, ‘Read it!’” Mackie continued, “And I read the scene, and I’m like, ‘Whoa,’…We cried. The heartbreaking news prompted responses from Toni Braxton and the rest of the family on social media sans Tamar, who later posted a note about monitoring people’s grieving process. “We ask that you respect the family’s privacy in their time of sadness and loss,” the Braxton family said in a statement.
