Bristol Palin and Dakota Meyer have called off their wedding, according to her mother, former Republican Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin. Sarah confirmed the sad news on her Facebook page Monday: “Bristol and Dakota couldn’t be more thankful for the love and support of family and friends over the past months while preparing for their wedding.” However, the ex-Alaska Governor said, “They have informed loved ones that unfortunately the announced celebration planned will not be held.” Bristol Palin and Dakota Meyer had been set to wed May 23. Sarah, who has yet to decide if she will join the list of 2016 presidential candidates , did not say if the wedding has been or would be rescheduled. However, she said both the Palins and Meyers will still gather for a barbecue in Kentucky, the planned wedding location, to “celebrate life, in general!” She also included the following statement from her daughter: “Regarding salacious headlines in recent days about ‘secret wives,’ Dakota and I discussed our past relationships prior to our engagement.” View Slideshow: Bristol Palin Photos: Through the Years “Dakota was legally divorced years ago, as any good reporter could and should have disclosed to readers,” Palin said, appealing to people with “decency.” “As usual, false stories and dramatically written headlines begging controversy should be disregarded, and we have faith that our privacy will be respected.” It was reported last week that Meyer had married another woman, Cassandra Wain, in 2008, and had hidden his previous marriage from Bristol. Neither Bristol nor Sarah said if the couple had ended their engagement, or their relationship, as a result of calling off the nuptials next weekend. Bristol also posted a photo reading, “Trust in God’s timing. It’s better to wait a while and have things fall into place than to rush and have things fall apart.” That might indicate that things aren’t over just yet. But what about the supposed feud between these singers? “Any artist with an amazing point of view, perspective, fan base, I’m down to get into the studio and work,” West replied. “I don’t discriminate; I don’t have an elitism of music because of how many Grammys or the amount of ratings you get on an album. “If I could be involved in giving people any type of energy, advice in the studio – whether you’re Beyonce, whether you’re Taylor Swift, whether you’re Jay Z, whether you’re Beck – and they can be reciprocal with that, I’d like to be involved with that.” West and Swift were actually spotted chatting and laughing at the Grammy Awards on Sunday night, with the former saying the latter told him to jump up on stage . Rosie O’Donnell announced her departure from The View on Friday, citing the demise of her marriage to Michelle Rounds as the main cause. Today she swore that she will return, but not as a host. Rosie is as famous for controversy as any other talk show personality out there. She’s an outspoken advocate for LGBT rights, who’s never shied away from a fight . But it wasn’t her opinions that forced Rosie from the spotlight this time, it was the end of her marriage. Nevertheless, Rosie is resilient. She’s strong. She’s determined. And she’s vowed to return, holding her daughter Dakota in her arms, saying “I’ll come back and do an occasional crafting segment because I have a hot glue gun and I will travel.” “Thank you. Rosie O’Donnell is out. Again! For the second time in just a few years, the talk show host has announced she’s leaving The View earlier than expected. According to O’Donnell’s publicist, she will exit the ABC gabfest next week to concentrate on her family, following a split from wife Michelle Rounds. “I can confirm that Rosie and her wife Michelle split in November. Rosie has teens and an infant at home that need her attention,” O’Donnell’s rep, Cindi Berger, said in a statement. “This has been a very stressful situation. She is putting her personal health and family first. ABC has been wonderfully understanding and supportive of her personal decision to leave ‘The View.’ Next week will be her last.” O’Donnell did break from Rounds in the last few months, but chatter around Rosie’s View departure has been growing stronger in recent weeks. At one point, insiders said she was unhappy that Whoopi Goldberg was the lead panelist on a daily basis. The colleagues got into a pretty big fight just a few weeks after they started working together in September. But Variety reports that O’Donnell was peeved when allegations surfaced of Rosie Perez leaving the program , despite the fact that she was only taking a leave of temporary absence. Perez and O’Donnell – who left the show in 2007 and just returned this past fall – are good friends. In general, it’s clear there’s a lack of communication (and professionalism?) backstage at The View. “Rosie is an immensely talented star who comes in each and every morning brimming with ideas, excitement and passion for the show,” ABC said in a statement, adding: “When she told us she wanted to exit ‘The View,’ we respected and understood her desire to put her well-being and her family first. Last month, Sarah Palin and her family were involved in a massive brawl at an Alaskan house party. As expected, Palin blamed the media , and claimed that the whole thing was blown out of proportion. Unfortunately – Somehow! – in 2014, no one managed to get any video or photos of the melee, so we had no way of knowing if the brawl was as crazy as initially reported. Then came the police report. Witnesses say Bristol Palin was called a slut , a large crowd chanted “F-ck the Palins!” and the former first family of Alaska found themselves on the wrong end of a drunken ass-whooping.
