There’s been a whole lot of talk about Helen Mirren recently, with the Caligula(1979) , Excalibur(1981) and Calendar Girls(2003) star leaving her mark in the cement outside Grauman’s Chinese Theater in Los Angeles, co-starring with Russell Brand in the remake of Arthur , and even revealing her love of hooker heels . This weekend she added to the buzz by hosting Saturday Night Live , where she confirmed what admirers of her anatomy have known since Age of Consent (1969) – that the fastest route to heaven is through Helen Mirren ‘s outstanding (and all-natural!) rack. Your ticket to paradise awaits- we’ve got four decades of nudity from Helen Mirren right here on MrSkin.com!
‘You ever heard of Justin Timberlake or, like, Rihanna?’ Andy Samberg says to sell the collabo-heavy album. By Aly Semigran, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Andy Samberg and Akiva Schaffer perform at the 2011 Comedy Awards Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage When it comes to the Lonely Island, the comedy trio whose “Saturday Night Live” digital shorts like “Lazy Sunday,” “I’m on a Boat” and “Jizz in My Pants” have become immense viral sensations, it’s best to expect the unexpected. MTV News got a hold of the Lonely Island — comprised of Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer and Jorma Taccone — at the Comedy Awards , where they performed their Akon collaboration “I Just Had Sex,” but it didn’t take long for the group to take ahold of our interview. Our own Josh Horowitz attempted to ask the funnymen about their upcoming album Turtleneck & Chain, which drops May 10, but they decided to interview one another instead. Schaffer asked, to neither of his musical/comedy partners in particular: “Any guest stars we should know about?” To which Samberg dutifully responded, “I don’t know, you ever heard of Justin Timberlake or, like, Rihanna? You ever heard of her? … Do you know a guy named Akon? ‘Cause we do!” Upon hearing that, Schaffer shot back, “Wow, I’m sold. Thank you.” Fans are most certainly familiar with Timberlake, who has appeared on a number of popular Lonely Island tracks, including “Di– in a Box” and “Motherlover,” the latter of which will appear on Turtleneck & Chain. Another track on the sophomore album fans have already become familiar with is their dance-along number with Nicki Minaj called “The Creep,” which debuted during the January 29 episode of “SNL.” “She’s great,” Samberg said of Minaj. “She’s a little weirdo.” Schaffer agreed: “As soon as we saw she existed, we were like, ‘We have to do something with her!’ ” But that wasn’t all that drew the three men to the eccentric rapper, as Samberg joked, “We share a lot of attributes with her, ’cause it’s like lots of great rapping ability, super-bangin’ bods, really intense sense of style, nice smelling … did I say bangin’ bods?” Will you be buying the Lonely Island’s new record? Let us know in the comments! Don’t miss the Comedy Awards at 8 p.m. Sunday night on Comedy Central, VH1, Spike TV, Logo, CMT, TVLand and online at TheComedyAwards.com . ‘Justin Theroux’s character, Leezar, lays an egg and a little dragon fetus comes out of it,’ David Gordon Green says of one sequence. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Ryan J. Downey David Gordon Green and Danny McBride on the set of “Your Highness” Photo: Frank Connor Given the unpredictable and improvisational nature of filming comedies — particularly those that involve jokesters Danny McBride, James Franco and director David Gordon Green (“Pineapple Express,” “Eastbound and Down”), it seems fair to assume that a fair amount of material filmed for “Your Highness” was left on the cutting-room floor. When MTV News caught up with the director recently, we asked him what omitted scenes might appear as part of the special features section on DVD/Blu-Ray. “There’s a lot of deleted scenes; all of them because we knew the movie needed to adhere to certain rules,” Gordon Green explained. “There was a really funny sequence that’s a musical sequence in the middle of the movie, of James on the quest, singing a song to Bella Donna who is Zooey Deschanel, up in the tower,” he explained. “[She] is singing back to her love to come and rescue her, and it’s really funny but it was one of the things when we test-screened the movie, we identified that as a point that broke the rules of the movie and it almost seemed like a ‘Saturday Night Live’ sketch,” he continued. “It was really, really funny on its own, but within the rules of the movie, it all of the sudden feels false. So there are things like that that I definitely want to put on the DVD because they’re really enjoyable and I’m really proud of the work that we did to make it happen,” he said, adding that a few things felt a little too over-the-top, even for them. “We had another scene where Justin Theroux’s character, Leezar , lays an egg and a little dragon fetus comes out of it,” he recalled. “Literally, a massive nasty explosion of green goo comes out of his butt, followed by a disgusting egg and a little half-formed fetus, so things like that just felt [like] it was a little excessive in going for something that was heightened and gimmicky,” he said. “[But] that stuff is really fun to watch.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Your Highness.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . MTV News cameras capture L.A. collective’s 2011 SXSW journey. By James Montgomery, with reporting by Christopher “CJ” Smith Odd Future’s Tyler, the Creator Photo: MTV News By now, the carnage has been cleared and the backlash has already begun, but earlier this month, Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All — the 10-member Los Angeles rap collective/sleeper cell with whom we are currently obsessed — stormed the South by Southwest music festival in Austin, Texas, playing more shows than anyone could possibly fathom (officially/unofficially, the number stands at seven), leaving a path of destruction and laceration in their wake.

Great black comedians are among the most astute business people in the nation. They have amassed some of the largest fortunes in entertainment, and have done so for more than a century. Their secret: wise brand management. Like many successful CEOs, they know just how to broaden their base, widen their appeal, and extend their “product line” to become hot commodities in an otherwise cold market. “A-list comics … are the commodity that people are buying into,” said Dionna Griffin-Irons, director of outreach and diversity for The Second City, the legendary improvisational comedy company that served as a training ground for Tina Fey, Stephen Colbert and many “Saturday Night Live” cast members. “You want that revenue success — sold-out houses. What you see comics doing is recognizing that their name is a brand. It brings people to the audiences. It fills seats, and so that brand translates into other areas — film, TV, CDs.” Continued at The Atlanta Post
Perhaps this news can tide you over until that imaginary Stefon movie gets the green light: Saturday Night Live cast member Kenan Thompson has been cast in Party Starters , a “high concept comedy” from producer Lorne Michaels. Starters isn’t based on any of Thompson’s SNL characters, however, which begs the question: What up with that? (Nailed it.) [ Deadline ]
Damn, we know ole boy is kicking himself right now!! Aflac Inc. said Monday it has fired Gilbert Gottfried, the abrasive voice of the insurer’s quacking duck in the U.S., after the comedian posted a string of mocking jokes about the earthquake and tsunami in Japan on Twitter over the weekend. The tasteless tweets are particularly problematic for Aflac because it does 75 percent of its business in Japan. One in four homes in Japan buys health insurance from Aflac. The insurer’s CEO, Daniel Amos, flew to Japan on Sunday to show support for the company’s employees and agents. Aflac said in a statement Monday that Gottfried’s jokes do not represent the feelings of the company, which previously announced it would donate 100 million yen ($1.2 million) to the International Red Cross to help with disaster assistance. “There is no place for anything but compassion and concern during these difficult times,” Chief Marketing Officer Michael Zuna said. The tweets in question were removed from Gottfried’s Twitter feed Monday after Aflac announced it would stop working with the comedian. Gottfried has voiced the duck in numerous Aflac commercials since 2000. His career includes a run as a cast member on “Saturday Night Live” and a role as the voice of the parrot in Disney’s “Aladdin.” He has also recorded a 50-minute show of dirty jokes. The insurer said it will start a casting search for his replacement. The company also noted that Gottfried is not the voice of the duck in Japan. Aflac’s mascot has a softer, sweeter voice in Japanese commercials. Aflac is gearing up for an influx of claims in the wake of the disaster, though it expects only a minimal financial impact to total results. The company, which has been doing business in Japan since 1974, said less than 5 percent of Aflac Japan’s new sales and in-force premiums come from the hard-hit Iwate, Miyagi and Fukushima prefectures there. Poor Thang. Source
