Betty White to Host Saturday Night Live

Mark your calendars, Betty White supporters: Following a Facebook campaign that resulted in over 350,000 signatures, fans have gotten their wish : the former Golden Girls star will host NBC’s Saturday Night Live on May 8. But the 88-year old won’t take to the stage alone. In honor of Mother’s Day, the edition will reunite six former female cast members as co-hosts: Tina Fey, Amy Poehler, Molly Shannon, Maya Rudolph, Ana Gasteyer and Rachel Dratch. The Facebook campaign kicked off after White appeared in a Super Bowl commercial for Snickers, which SNL creator Lorne Michaels said “took on a groundswell. “[White as the host] isn’t something we would have said no to, [but the campaign] validated that… It was the outpouring of affection from fans, and we feel the same way.” Simply put, “she’s the mother of us all in comedy,” Michaels said. Go ahead and set your DVR for this episode of the long-running sketch series. We’ll wait right here.

Justin Bieber To Appear On ‘Saturday Night Live’

The pop star has been booked to perform on the comedy show’s April 10 episode. By Jocelyn Vena Justin Bieber Photo: Getty Images The demands of Justin Bieber’s fanbase have been answered by the producers of “Saturday Night Live.” Fans of the Canadian heartthrob launched a Twitter campaign, @BieberOnSNL , to get the teen phenomenon on the show, and it quickly amassed 2,600 followers. It also saw its mission realized; the pop star will be the late-night comedy show’s musical guest on April 10. Bieber has already stated that he wants to appear in one of the show’s digital shorts, which have featured the likes of Rihanna and Justin Timberlake. He sent out his request via Twitter , saying, “Shoutout to @BieberOnSNL and all the other fans who support me. It’s happening! SNL in APRIL!! Digital Short Music Vid??” The pop phenomenon didn’t mention which songs he might perform on the show, but he did mention that he already had a special guest in mind for his big debut: “Me and Chuck Norris should do SNL together,” he wrote. “That would be good. Very good.” Bieber’s “SNL” appearance comes shortly after the March 23 release of My World 2.0 , the follow-up to his 2009 album My World . Bieber recently sang the opening line in the Haiti-benefiting remake of “We Are The World,” and he just released the video for My World 2.0 ‘s first single, “Baby.” MTV News was on set with Bieber when he shot the clip, which features cameos by Drake and Ludacris. “It starts off, I really like this girl, but we didn’t [get] along; we couldn’t be together,” he said. “Basically I want her back and [I’m] kind of going through the whole thing. I’m chasing her around, trying to get her, and she’s kind of playing hard to get, but I’m persistent. I keep going.” Related Photos Justin Bieber Breaks Hearts In Canada Related Artists Justin Bieber

Will Betty White Host Saturday Night Live?

It’s a golden age for one Golden Girl. Over the past year, Betty White has co-starred in a hit movie ( The Proposal ); appeared in a Super Bowl commercial; and received a lifetime achievement from the Screen Actors Guild. The 88-year old is suddenly in a more sought after commodity than Megan Fox nude photos. Nowhere is this more evident than on Facebook: Over 330,000 users have signed an online petition that aims to get White as a host of Saturday Night Live . What does the actress think of this movement? “I don’t even know where that came from,” she told People . “That just came out of left field. It’s ridiculous. I don’t think Lorne Michaels even knows about it, so we won’t worry about it.” The prospect of White as on the SNL stage raises two questions, the first being: Do you want this to happen? The second question: Who is your dream SNL host? We vote for Levi Johnston , Chris Harrison, Tiger Woods or Snooki. Let your voice be heard in the Comments section below!
