Get ya tissues ready… 3-Year-Old Boy Is The Lone Survivor After His Entire Family Dies In Fatal Car Crash Via ABCNews A high speed chase outside of Mission, Texas, turned deadly when the driver behind the wheel of a stolen pickup truck slammed into three other vehicles, killing four young children and their mother and father in an SUV, authorities said. Alton Police Department Chief Enrique Soleto told ABCNews.com that the suspect, identified as Hector Ramirez, 18, of Roma, Texas, smashed into a Chevrolet Suburban with a family of seven inside, as well as two other vehicles, at an intersection in a rural area near Mission, on Monday afternoon. Six of the seven family members inside the SUV were killed on impact, Soleto said. A 3-year-old boy was the only passenger in the car to survive the crash. The boy was airlifted by helicopter from the scene, Soleto said, but he did not know where he was transported. Passengers in the other vehicles involved in the crash were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety. The family members killed in the SUV were identified as Jose Luis Ortiz, 55; Olga Lidia Morales-Cardoza, 35; Elias Ortiz, 1; Fernanda Ortiz, 3; Ricardo Ortiz, 5; and Jose Ortiz, 6; all from Penitas, Texas. The survivor was 3-year-old Jesus Ortiz. The accident occurred after a Texas Highway patrol sergeant engaged in a high-speed pursuit of stolen truck on Monday afternoon, the Texas Department of Public Safety said. Sweet baby Jesus… NYPD Shoots And Kills Armed 14-Year-Old After Shoot-Out With Another Man A rookie police officer shot and killed a 14-year-old boy on a street early Sunday after he refused to drop his gun and pointed it in the direction of officers, authorities said. Shaaliver Douse died of a single gunshot to his jaw after the confrontation in the Melrose section of the Bronx. Two officers with the New York Police Department were on foot patrol when they heard gunfire at around 3 a.m. The officers responded to the scene and found the boy with a 9mm handgun firing shots at a fleeing man, authorities said. Police released two surveillance videos Sunday evening that show a man they’ve identified as Douse, wearing a white T-shirt and jeans, fire at a group of men standing outside a bodega and then chasing after one of them. Police said Douse fired four shots in all. The officers identified themselves as police and ordered him to drop his weapon, authorities said. “The officers ordered Douse to drop the gun but instead he fired another round,” NYPD Commissioner Raymond Kelly said at a news conference. “It is undetermined at this time whether he fired at the officers or a fourth time at the unknown male who had just run past the officers.” When he pointed his gun in the direction of officers, one of the officers shot him, police said. Douse was pronounced dead at the scene. Although it appears that Shaaliver Douse was clearly in the wrong, it’s still sad to see another young brother killed. Southwest Airlines Jet Collapses According to The NY Post The front landing gear of a Southwest Airlines jet collapsed upon landing at LaGuardia Airport sending the nose of the Boeing 737 crashing to the tarmac. Ten passengers were treated at the scene. Six were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, said Thomas Bosco, Acting Director of Aviation for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. The six crew members were taken to another hospital for observation. Southwest Flight 345 hit the tarmac “nose first” shortly before 6 p.m. on Runway 4, sending sparks flying all around the front of the jumbo jet, a source said. “There was no warning,” the source added, referring to the unexpected crash landing. Tom Marsala, 54, and his wife, Debra, were at the airport to pick up their daughter, Reena Posten, 21, and her husband, who were returning from Nashville to celebrate their second wedding anniversary. “She texted us, ‘Our plane just crashed, but we’re all OK,’” said Marsala. “I said, ‘What?’ I couldn’t believe it,” added Debra. Port Authority firefighting and rescue units raced to the scene and deployed fire retardant foam before quickly escorting frightened passengers and crew to safety, who descended onto the runway through emergency chutes. The cause of the mishap was unclear, Soutwest said. Flights arriving at LaGuardia were being rerouted to Newark and JFK. “We are gathering details and will post a statement soon,” a Southwest Airlines spokesman said in a tweet. Thank God no one died.
