These Freaky Heffahs Go Hard: “Alleged” Lesbian Teachers Sue City Of New York For $2M

Cindy Mauro and Alini Brito , the teachers who were fired for getting drunk and eating each other’s box in a high school classroom are STILL in the news: The female romance language teachers who were fired for allegedly speaking the international language in a Brooklyn classroom aren’t going down without a fight. Cindy Mauro and Alini Brito say their reputations have been ruined by allegations they engaged in a steamy lesbian romp inside of James Madison HS, and now they’re suing the city Dept. of Education for $2 million for “wrongful termination, libel and slander.” The women’s lawyer, Michael Valentine, said among the people who will be targeted by the suit is the school custodian who allegedly told school officials he had seen two women having sex in a classroom. Valentine’s clients maintain that what was going on in the classroom was completely innocent – Mauro was helping her friend Brito by getting her some sweets to get her crashing blood sugar level back up – and that the custodian has a dirty mind. While he told other school employees he saw the women going at it, at a DOE hearing he admitted he was standing behind another person 15 feet away from the cracked open door, could only tell that there was one partially clad woman inside the darkened classroom. “He admitted in his hearing testimony that he only saw one person, but speculated there were two women in there having sex,” Valentine said, leading to his clients getting smeared and fired. “When does a fish become a whale?” he said. Both women had already filed separate actions against the DOE aimed at getting the decision to fire them annulled. So what do y’all think??? Were these broads really getting it in and now they’re so embarrassed that they’re doing whatever they can to cover it up?? Source

Jesus Take The Wheel: Student’s Dead Baby Found In Bag At Oprah’s School

Unfortunately, the positive influence of the staff at Oprah’s school in South Africa continues not to seem to be enough for some of the students. Case in point: a 17-year-old who hid her pregnancy, putting her child’s life in jeopardy as a result. The body of a newborn baby was discovered in a bag belonging to a student at the already scandal-plagued Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in Johannesburg, according to South African authorities. Hospital staffers discovered the lifeless infant when the 17-year-old girl identified as the baby’s mother was brought in to be treated for excessive bleeding, the child in a bag she brought with her. Police believe that the girl, who remains hospitalized, gave birth at the school. Charges have not been filed at this time and police are investigating, after which the case will be turned over to the Director for Public Prosecutions, ABC News reports. They have not said whether foul play is suspected in the child’s death. A Chicago-based spokesman for Winfrey’s school said they will not be commenting on the case, as it involves a minor. As did the case of the school’s former dorm matron, who was accused in 2007 of molesting several students. Virginia Tiny Makopo was eventually acquitted of the charges, leaving Winfrey “profoundly disappointed.” The talk-show queen and cable-network founder ultimately fired the school’s headmistress, as well, stating that she would do everything in her power to “ensure [the students’] safety and well-being.” In March 2009, four pupils were expelled and another three suspended for alleged “inappropriate behaviors,” which were said to include “sexual misconduct,” toward other students. So sad… makes you wonder how many other boarding schools in Africa are plagued with these issues. Do you think we would have heard about any of the situations at Oprah’s school if it wasn’t “Oprah’s school”?? Source

Some Sunday Controversy: David Aldridge Labels NBA All-Star Weekend As The “Black Thanksgiving”

Here’s what CNN writer David Aldridge feels about NBA All-Star Weekend (which caused quite the stir in the sports world) …Via CNN : So, you want to know about Black Thanksgiving? That’s what sports writer Mike Wilbon calls NBA All-Star Weekend. First of all, what you need to know about Wilbon, whom I love, is that he has been known to exaggerate just a touch on occasion. But on this one, he’s on point. For those of us who cover the NBA for a living, like me and Wilbon — now an ESPN yakker and writer, formerly a Washington Post yakker and writer, and my friend –All-Star Weekend is a long four days of work. But for most of the people who descend into town — this year it’s Los Angeles, with its still sparkling Staples Center and the surrounding “L.A. Live” area — it’s an opportunity to go wild (sometimes a little too wild, as happened in Las Vegas a few years ago) and get together. Other folks have Tweetups. Black people have All-Star Weekend, or ASW. It’s a national holiday, sort of. ASW is the only time of the year that people call me. I don’t say that to be maudlin, ’cause most of the time, I don’t want people to call me. (Dirty little secret: I don’t really like talking on the phone.) But they come out of the woodwork this time of year, because NBA players are royalty in Black America, and everyone wants to be near them. The old saying is that ballers want to be rappers, and rappers want to be ballers. That’s really, really true. Basketball is a culture. It isn’t for everyone, though the game is loved by people of all colors. There is a rhythm to it, just as if McCoy Tyner was dribbling a ball instead of playing piano. “Considering that the culture of basketball in a predominantly black league like the NBA is so strongly connected to African American culture, the NBA All-Star weekend has turned into a celebration of African American culture by extension,” says Todd Boyd, professor of critical studies at the University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. The season begins just as baseball’s ends, when the days grow short and the weather turns windy and cold. The tempo is slow at first, like the beginning strains of John Coltrane’s “A Love Supreme,” but then, just as with Coltrane, it picks up steam. Rookies like the Clippers’ Blake Griffin find their voice, and their game blossoms, as the calendar turns to a new year. While older, wiser veteran players and teams tinker here and there, not much interested in the daily standings, knowing that the important games come in the spring. They can wait. Does this offend you???

Which Glee Cast Members Have the Best Shot At Being Movie Stars?

With I Am Number Four unspooling at theaters around the country (and in IMAX !), Dianna Agron becomes the first Glee star to graduate from McKinley High School to the silver screen. Four isn’t Agron’s maiden voyage into the world of film — she had small roles in Burlesque and The Romantics last year — but it is the first high profile movie appearance from any Glee star since the show exploded. Will Agron be the biggest movie star of the New Directions bunch? Ahead — using nothing but common sense, speculation and bit of wishful thinking — Movieline counts down the ten Glee students most likely to succeed.

Nick Jonas Goes Toe-To-Toe With Matthew Perry On ‘Mr. Sunshine’

Jonas Brother plays a demanding rock star on the new ABC sitcom. By Aly Semigran Matthew Perry and Nick Jonas on “Mr. Sunshine” Photo: ABC Imagine a bizarro Nick Jonas: While he is still a wildly successful musician, he is now an egomaniacal jerk. During Wednesday night’s (February 16) episode of ABC’s “Mr. Sunshine,” Jonas played Eli Cutler, a singing sensation who — in addition to being a jelly-bean-eating “rock star” that has his own Saturday morning cartoon and is capable of packing an entire arena to capacity with screaming tweens — lacks any real sense of human decency (which he credits to a “lethal combination” of poor parenting and being exceedingly wealthy). The day of Eli’s show at Sunshine Stadium caught Ben (Matthew Perry) in a bad spot as his staffers, who forgot it’s his 10-year-anniversary on the job, scramble to participate in a fake contest in order to win the affections of their boss Crystal (Allison Janney) — and a golf cart. With his employees preoccupied, Ben is left with the task of catering to Eli’s every demand, which includes everything from getting him the first season of “Brothers & Sisters” on DVD and attaining the number of a hot female fan (or, as he so delicately put it, “a spicy enough crab roll”). In the end we find out Eli is actually racked with insecurities about his music (despite having wonderfully lame pop titles like “Baby, My Baby,” “No Place Like School” and “Dance, Dance, Dance…Dance”), and Ben saves the day by assuring the celeb (who had earlier referred to Perry’s character as a chubbier Larry King) that he was actually good at his job — a gesture that prompts Eli to dedicate a song to “a guy that works here.” It’s always fun to watch celebrities poke fun at themselves, even if it is an extreme version of him or herself, and it seems like Jonas let himself get lost in the role. The 18-year-old talked to MTV News about the experience of playing the spoiled star, telling us it was “really fun to stretch my personality a bit.” Jonas, who went toe-to-toe comedically with Perry in every scene, said of the experience, “It was so cool to work with him and soak up as much as I could.” How very un-Eli of him. Brooklyn Decker Recalls Telling Off A Teacher On ‘When I Was 17’

Supermodel remembers heated argument over yearbook in latest episode. By Mawuse Ziegbe Brooklyn Decker on “When I Was 17” Photo: MTV Brooklyn Decker is a catwalk-strutting supermodel who can induce whiplash with her swimsuit-clad curves, but in high school the siren had more of a passion for politics than fashion. On the latest episode of “When I Was 17” — which premieres Saturday at 11 a.m. ET on MTV — Decker recalls getting into a heated argument with her teacher over a yearbook layout that would have left her beloved student council out of the tome. “My friend Ashley and I were in this class. I was the senior class president and Ashley was student body president, and the yearbook teacher did not want to give student council a page in the yearbook,” she says, explaining, “We funded all these clubs and we support all these clubs through spirit week and so we thought we deserve a page in the yearbook.” However, their teacher, Ms. Smith, explains that since the student council was full of go-getting teens active in several clubs that would’ve gotten some shine elsewhere in the annual volume, perhaps preserving space for those other organizations would help spread the yearbook love. “We had one page left in the book,” the teacher recalls. “We were trying to decide what group would get that one last page, and I said, ‘Listen guys, the same people who are in student council are in lots of other things and so I think we should give the page to this less visible group in the school.’ ” But Decker wasn’t having it. Her friend Ashley says, “Brooke just like, lost it,” a reaction the model doesn’t deny. “We started yelling things at one another and by the end of the class Ashley took a trash can and just chucked it at a wall. And I walked out of the class and I went like this [makes a provocative gesture] and I yelled, ‘Suck it!’ to my teacher,” she says. Decker jokingly chalks up the outburst to an overload of heart-racing energy drinks. “I don’t know what came over me, I was crazy in high school,” she says. “I was like, all hopped up on Red Bull or something, I don’t know.” “When I Was 17” — this week featuring Kobe Bryant, Brooklyn Decker and Candice Accola — premieres Saturday at 11 a.m. ET on MTV.
