As if the Jersey Shore house wasn’t trashy enough based on its residents, the exterior of the Seaside Heights, N.J., structure has been vandalized repeatedly. The realtor for Danny’s house says hoards of people keep tagging the outside walls with their names and random, lame comments like, “We love you Snooki .” Seriously? You graffiti the Jersey Shore house and that’s all you got? The damage at Case de Duck Phone is so profuse that the realtor is forced to repaint the guido STD cesspool … on a weekly basis. So yeah, it’s a problem. It gets worse, too. People have been stealing roof shingles as souvenirs (?!) and are often caught messing with the front door when the house is vacant.
‘What’s draggin’ on the floor is Kanye’s reputation as a man with no empathy for animals,’ PETA tells MTV News in response to Yeezy’s ‘Theraflu.’ By Rob Markman Photo: Theraflu/ Getty Images/ MTV News Not everyone is in love with Kanye West ‘s “Theraflu.” While Yeezy’s fans are fawning over his new track, PETA (or People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) took exception to the song’s hook. “Someone tell PETA my mink is draggin’ on the floor,” Kanye spits in the song’s opening bars and then again on the chorus. Well, the animal-rights organization heard the Louis Vuitton Don loud and clear and fired back with a message of their own on Thursday (April 5). “What’s draggin’ on the floor is Kanye’s reputation as a man with no empathy for animals or human beings,” PETA’s senior vice president Dan Mathews said to MTV News in a statement. “He’s a great musician but doesn’t seem to have the fashion sense to design anything more than caveman costumes.” Seems like PETA also caught wind of ‘Ye’s fashion outing in early March when he presented his fall/winter collection during Paris Fashion Week ; the rapper used quite a bit of fur in his women’s line. PETA hasn’t closed the door completely on Kanye, however. They’re still hopeful that he will eventually have a change of heart. “We keep hoping that one day he’ll find his heart and join evolved style icons — including Russell Simmons, Pink and Natalie Portman — who have dropped animal skins,” Mathews said. The MC’s fashion taste isn’t the only topic addressed on “Theraflu.” Kanye touches on his ex-girl Amber Rose, Wiz Khalifa (Rose’s new man), and his feelings for Kim Kardashian. “The whole industry wanna f— ya old chick/ Only n—a I got respect for is Wiz/ And I’ll admit I fell in love with Kim/ Around the same time she had fell in love with him,” Kanye spits over the Hit-Boy-produced beat. ‘Pauly D Project’ star tells MTV News he is taking his time with debut album because he ‘really wants it to be great.’ By John Mitchell 50 Cent and Pauly D Photo: Ethan Miller/ Getty Images Pauly D is hard at work, making the kind of bold career moves that should help him keep his star status strong long after his days in Seaside Heights are behind him. The “Jersey Shore” breakout has been cataloging his exploits on his new spin-off, “The Pauly D Project,” which follows the star as he travels the world with his crew as an in-demand DJ and continues to pursue a recording career. Pauly signed with 50 Cent’s G-Note record label late last year and reportedly got right to work. “I’m focusing on music. That’s my passion,” Pauly said at the time. “I’m working with 50 Cent now. I’m gonna do an album with him. It’s going to be a little bit of everything. It’s almost like DJ Khaled and kind of David Guetta, but my own DJ Pauly D style.” So how is the album coming along? Apparently, quite well. “G-Unit’s going great. I’m working heavily on my album right now, trying to lock down some producers, some artists,” Pauly told MTV News. “I’m taking my time with it. I really want it to be great. I want the album to show my personality, just like my DJing does.” Pauly had nothing but praise for label boss 50 Cent, saying, “50’s a beast, man. He’s so smart when it comes to business, and he’s so talented. Him and I just clicked the second we met, so it was great.” The feeling, it seems, is mutual. While talking to MTV News in NYC late last month, 50 had nothing but good things to say about Pauly and his new show. “Well, Pauly D’s show is gonna be as — I don’t want to say more exciting than ‘Jersey Shore’ — I’ll say as exciting as ‘Jersey Shore’ to maintain the audience that ‘Jersey Shore’ had by itself,” 50 said. “He has a lot going on right now, and they’ll get a chance to go into his world, as far as his DJing and a lot of things he’s actually doing.” The “Pauly D Project” airs Thursday at 10:30 p.m. ET/PT. Actress Marla Sokoloff delivered a daughter, Elliotte Anne Puro, at 8:05 p.m. Wednesday, February 8 in California, her rep confirmed to People Magazine. “Mom, dad and baby are happy as can be and completely in love with each other,” Sokoloff, 31, said of the seven-pound arrival with husband Alec Puro. It’s the first child for the couple. The Chateau Meroux star blogged recently that “in the grand scheme of things, these nine months went by pretty quickly.” “Yes, there were weeks that seemed endless and yes, I complained about my feet swelling up like balloons and the general discomfort that comes with the end of pregnancy – but all in all the journey has been one that I will never forget.” Congratulations to the whole family!

Roger told Jen he’d be an hour late for their date, which they canceled, as JWoww ripped him a new one without him having a chance to respond. Minus 8 . Yes, for the 18th time, the British belter’s 21 claims the top spot, selling nearly 116,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The album has now tied Garth Brooks’ Ropin’ the Wind for 18 non-consecutive weeks at #1; she needs just three more weeks atop the chart to move past the “Bodyguard” soundtrack and Elvis Presley’s Blue Hawaii, both of which notched 20 weeks at #1. As is usually the case, Adele makes it look easy. Her closest chart competition comes in the form of Tim McGraw ‘s Emotional Traffic, which scores the week’s biggest debut, opening at #2 with sales of nearly 68,000 copies. Lamb of God ‘s Resolution bows at #3, selling almost 53,000 copies. The 2012 Grammy Nominees compilation (more than 52,000 copies sold) and Ingrid Michaelson ‘s Human Again (nearly 40,000 copies sold) round out the top five. The 21st installment of the ubiquitous Kidz Bop series is next at #6, with sales of more than 33,000 copies, followed by former “American Idol” firecracker Kellie Pickler ‘s 100 Proof (more than 27,000 copies) at #7, Seal ‘s Soul 2 (slightly more than 27,000 copies) at #8, Drake ‘s Take Care (more than 26,000 copies) at #9 and Kari Jobe ‘s Where I Find You (nearly 25,000 copies) at #10. ‘There’s no truth’ to reports that she and boyfriend Jionni LaValle are expecting a child, rep tells MTV News. On Wednesday (February 1), a rumor began to spread that “Jersey Shore” star Snooki is pregnant with her first child. But those rumors, it seems, are false. “There’s no truth to the reports,” a rep for the MTV star told MTV News. So, what led everyone to believe that Snooki might be a mom very soon? Well, a source close to the star reportedly told Radaronline.com that she and her boyfriend Jionni LaValle (who is featured on the show) had been telling only close friends and family that they were expecting a baby. “She’s been telling people that she has a big announcement coming,” the source said, adding that the baby may have been a story line in the upcoming Snooki/JWoww spin-off. For now, Snooki’s lovable onscreen antics will remain baby-free. Psychiatrist talks to MTV News after the star left the show on Thursday’s episode to address his lifelong struggle with clinical anxiety. By James Montgomery Vinny and Pauly D on “Jersey Shore” Photo: MTV On Thursday night’s “Jersey Shore,” viewers were given a glimpse inside Vinny Guadagnino’s lifelong (though closely guarded) struggle with clinical anxiety — a battle that finally forced him to leave the show and return home to Staten Island. It was a decidedly somber moment on a show that more often than not focuses solely on good times. But Guadagnino’s condition shouldn’t come as all that much of a shock: according to estimates, 15 to 25 percent of the population suffer from some form of anxiety disorder, and most of the time, those conditions remain undiagnosed. Which is why the “Shore” star going public with his personal struggle is such a big deal. Perhaps by doing so, he will inspire others to do the same. “I was really struck by the honesty and the candor. I didn’t expect that to be on national television,” Dr. Sue Varma, a Manhattan psychiatrist and faculty member at NYU’s Langone Medical Center, told MTV News. “As private as it is, if you’re a public figure like he is, and you’re dealing with an issue, you can bring awareness to it. It will help other people suffering from [an anxiety disorder] to come out without fear of being ostracized. It will get people talking and get people help.” Varma said that many of the conditions Guadagnino discussed on the episode are all fairly common to those suffering from an anxiety disorder. And those conditions were only exacerbated by his hard-charging Seaside Heights surroundings. “You hear Vinny talking about not having his family around, not having a regular sleep schedule, going out a lot, drinking … routine is really big, sleep is huge. For every psychiatric disorder, sleep is a symptom, either sleeping too little or sleeping too much,” she said. “Often you’ll hear somebody say they’re having ruminating thoughts, they’re obsessing, they’re thinking about the same things over and over again, and often that keeps them from falling asleep. “People who are anxious tend to stay in their head, because it helps them avoid their emotions. As long as they’re thinking, they feel they’re doing something to prevent something bad from happening. And that disconnects them from their surroundings,” she continued. “And a lot of people who have anxiety also have depression, and depression brings about changes in appetite, loss of concentration, memory problems and, in severe cases, even suicide. You become isolated … you lose your sense of pleasure in life. And anxiety, when it’s untreated, when somebody feels it’s out of control, that can bring on depression.” And the fact that Guadagnino managed to keep his anxiety a secret for so long doesn’t surprise Varma one bit; after all, millions suffer from similar disorders, and more often than not, their friends and family aren’t even aware of it. Or, if they are, they’re not sure how they can help. “All psychiatric conditions are medical conditions, so in the way people have diabetes or high blood pressure, that needs to be taken seriously, they have real biological circumstances, so does anxiety or depression,” she continued. “It’s a medical disorder, and people really think it’s a mood, a phase that you’re in, a funk that you’re in, and you can just snap out of it. You can’t. Anxiety disorders are really an umbrella, and there’s seven or eight major categories that fall under that. People who have it are integrated amongst us … there are plenty of people that you’re working with that you don’t realize have it, because they seem so functional. And having seen previous episodes, I wouldn’t have realized [Guadagnino had a disorder] until he came forward.” Varma added that there are a variety of treatments available to those battling anxiety disorders — everything from psychotherapy to medications like Zoloft or Prozac — but the key is getting those with conditions to admit they need help. That’s always been the biggest battle, though now that Guadagnino has gone public, perhaps those like him will follow suit. “It’s really important to let people know that there’s no stigma in this,” Varma said. “There are millions of people suffering from this, and it’s treatable.” For continuing “Jersey Shore” coverage, be sure to check in with MTV’s Remote Control blog. ‘We’re hitting the boardwalk hard,’ JWoww says of the new season, which premieres Thursday at 10 p.m. ET on MTV. By James Montgomery “Jersey Shore” stars Jwoww, Snooki, Sammi and Deena Photo: MTV News The “Jersey Shore” gang heads back to their spiritual home of Seaside Heights on the fifth season, which premieres Thursday at 10 p.m. ET. And from the sound of things, that triumphant return couldn’t have come quickly enough. After a drama-filled Italian holiday, the “Shore” stars were looking forward to getting back to the boardwalk. “We’re hitting the boardwalk hard and [there’s] just overall excitement,” JWOWW told MTV News. “[There was] the anticipation and the anxiety of just being home, because we were away from our family and friends for so long. It’s a little overwhelming.” Those same sentiments were echoed by the guys of the “Shore” earlier this week, when they told MTV News that the in-house tensions that plagued the cast during season four — infighting, headbutting, ill-fated hookups and vehicular mishaps — had all but disappeared by the time they hit Seaside (thanks to the availability of good barbers and “easy women”). The girls were especially happy to bid arrivederci to Italy. And let’s just say they hit the ground running. “I think in Italy it was all drama because we missed home and obviously some people were stirring up unnecessary fake rumors in the house,” Snooki sighed. “So when we get back to Jersey, you’re gonna see that pan out more. But altogether I think we just couldn’t wait to get home and we went crazy.” The fifth season of “Jersey Shore” premieres Thursday, January 5, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. The Jersey Shore cast will run it back Thursday, January 5 on MTV. The show is heading into its fifth season, and third filmed at the titular summer destination. Chances Snooki and Deena know what titular mean? Slim to none.
