Prior to that, Joey Boyes won the Best Man toast game by creating an original song based on the movie Frozen. And now a woman on Reddit has won the wedding dress game by creating her own masterpiece for a grand total of $30, crocheting the gown during various commutes to work on the bus. It took this bride-to-be about five months and, of course, it helps if one is really good at knitting. But the following stop motion video depicts the beginning product and the finished product and proves that one need not mortgage one’s financial future for a dress one will wear a single time. Dang, isht really goes down in Silicon Valley… Female Yahoo! Executive Sued For Sexual Harassment By Female Employee Maria Zhang, Senior Director of Engineering at Yahoo, is being sued for sexual harassment, wrongful termination, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. The complaint was filed Friday by Nan Shi, an engineer supervised by Zhang, and also names Yahoo as a defendant. According to the San Jose Mercury News: In her complaint, Nan Shi says she was working as a principal software engineer when the supervisor, industry veteran Maria Zhang, forced her to have sex against her will on multiple occasions, promising her “a bright future at Yahoo” if she acquiesced. After coercing her to have “oral and digital sex,” Shi says when she finally resisted Zhang’s advances, the executive retaliated by giving her a bad performance review and removing her as a project lead. When she reported the abuse to Yahoo, Shi says, the company did nothing to stop it, and then put her on what eventually became an unpaid leave followed by final termination that took effect Friday. According to Shi and her Sunnyvale attorney, Matthew Fisher, Shi had been working for Zhang’s mobile-app startup in Seattle and when Yahoo purchased it in 2013, both women came down to work for Yahoo. Shi says Zhang told her to move into a temporary Yahoo housing unit in Sunnyvale. “While staying with Plaintiff, Zhang coerced Plaintiff to have oral and digital sex with her on multiple occasions against her will, even after Plaintiff told her she did not want to have sex,” the complaint alleges. “Zhang told Plaintiff she would have a bright future at Yahoo if she had sex with her. She also stated she could take away everything from her including her job, stocks, and future if she did not do what she wanted.” The complaint alleges that Zhang, as Shi’s manager, forced her “to work grueling hours and compose work emails over the weekend at the apartment, sometimes right after sex.” Zhang did not respond to a request for comment. But a Yahoo spokesperson said “There is absolutely no basis or truth to the allegations against Maria Zhang. Maria is an exemplary Yahoo executive, and we intend to fight vigorously to clear her name.” Sounds CRAZY!!! Do you think Yahoo! will end up settling this out of court? How embarrassing. According to The Washington Post: Lupita is coming, Lupita is coming! As Washington prepares to take a weekend-long back seat to the celebrity guests now at the center of the annual White House Correspondents’ Association dinner, the VIP rolls are rolling in. The biggest get? Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o, who People magazine named “the most beautiful” person of 2014, will be basking in all her “it girl” glory at the Time table. The Huffington Post will host Seattle Seahawk Richard Sherman. No doubt funnyman Kevin Hart, a guest of NBC Universal, will be critiquing comedian Joel McHale’s performance. We’re not sure if Thomson Reuters invitee Darren Criss will be singing for his supper, but the “Glee” star has had plenty of practice. CBS and ABC will be trotting out some of their networks’ biggest stars, with Julianna Margulies of CBS’s The Good Wife” and Tony Goldwyn of ABC’s “Scandal” expected to attend. No word on who Vanity Fair or CNN will extend a golden ticket to, but so far it looks like reality stars and game show second runner ups shouldn’t wait for the mailman. In addition to attending The White House Correspondent Dinner, Lupita is busy being the face of Miu Miu’s eyewear campaign. Check out the video below.

Kurt Cobain Suicide Photos Released, Depict Drug Paraphernalia and Cash

Nearly two decades after Kurt Cobain committed suicide, new photos from the scene of the rocker’s death have been released. A Seattle detective recently reviewed the case, assuming the 20th anniversary of Cobain’s passing would renew interest in the incident, which took place on April 8, 1994. He did not discover any new information but he did some across four rolls of undeveloped rolls of film from the suicide scene. Kurt Cobain Suicide Photos Revealed Authorities released two of those photos to The Associated Press last night, with one depicting a box of drug paraphernalia, a spoon and what appear to be needles on the floor next to half a cigarette and sunglasses. The other shows the same paraphernalia box closed aside some cash, a cigarette pack and a wallet that shows Cobain’s identification. “There was nothing earth-shattering in any of these images,” police spokeswoman Renee Witt said. “The detective went into the case files to refresh himself. The outcome of the case has not changed.” Cobain’s body was discovered in Seattle and an investigation determined that, days prior, the Nirvana frontman had gone into the greenhouse of his large home and taken a massive dose of heroin. He then shot himself with a shotgun. In a statement on the Seattle Police Department’s online blotter, the detective who re-examined the case dismissed speculation of any kind of conspiracy. “Sometimes people believe what they read – some of the disinformation from some of the books, that this was a conspiracy. That’s completely inaccurate,” said Detective Mike Ciesynski. “It’s a suicide. This is a closed case.”

Super Bowl Rigged? Conspiracy Theorists, Satire Article Suggest Broncos Tanked

Sunday night’s Super Bowl XLVIII result was certainly a joke, but was it rigged? The online conspiracy theorists are swarming following the lopsided outcome. The Seattle Seahawks didn’t just beat the Denver Broncos, they absolutely demolished them in every conceivable facet of the NFL championship game. It was not as close as the score suggests … and the score was 43-8. Super Bowl Rigged? Obviously, this has given way to the obligatory chatter that the Super Bowl was rigged, and Huzlers, site with an Onion-like penchant for satire, fueled the fire. Huzlers posted a “breaking” story this week with the headline “Super Bowl XLVIII Believed to Have Been Rigged and Currently Under Investigation by NFL.” Because few people know what Huzlers is, people believed this. The story claimed NFL officials “found clues that might prove the game was rigged” and imply Denver “lost the championship in exchange for a large amount of money.” The report goes on to say that ref Terry McAulay overheard Broncos quarterback Peyton Manning asking Seahawks coach Pete Carroll, “When are you going to pay up?” Of course, there is no evidence that the game was fixed or rigged, despite the first snap of the game almost decapitating Manning in hilarious fashion. Huzlers identifies itself as “a combination of real shocking news and satire news to keep its visitors in a state of disbelief.” It’s clearly not a real story. Still, the mismatch was almost laughable, and Denver’s comedy of errors – see video above – certainly made it look like they weren’t trying at times. Seriously, were they even trying to tackle the Seahawks? Did someone send hookers to the Broncos’ hotel the night before? Did they all see the Jamie Casino Super Bowl ad on YouTube and lose their focus? Rigged or not, something was definitely up.

Amanda Knox: Conviction is Wrong, "Hit Me Like a Train"

An emotional Amanda Knox is vowing to fight her murder conviction once again, saying defiantly “this is wrong” and that she will never willingly return to Italy. A jury found Amanda Knox guilty yesterday in the 2007 slaying of Meredith Kercher, which she spent four years in prison for before being released on appeal. Amanda Knox Good Morning America Interview Prosecutors in Italy retried the case, however, and Knox was convicted a second time. She has been in the U.S. since her 2011 release, however. She wasn’t present for the retrial, and Friday morning, she struggled to hold back tears as she railed against the verdict, saying: “This is wrong.” Appearing on Good Morning America , the Seattle native expressed outrage at the verdict and 28 year sentence the Italian justice system handed down. She told Robin Roberts she is “going through waves of emotions” and said she couldn’t believe what she was hearing when the decision was read. “It really hit me like a train,” Knox revealed, with her chin quivering and her voice cracking throughout the interview. “I did not expect this to happen.” She said, “No, this is wrong,” about her guilty conviction and said she’s determined to fight, telling Roberts “I’m going to do everything I can to prove it.” Amanda Knox Photos: Through the Years Open Slideshow 1. As for whether Italy will seek extradition of Knox, it’s unclear, but she’ll clearly fight it under U.S. law, which bars prosecuting people twice for the same crime. They just can’t let Amanda move on with her life. Amanda Knox Found Guilty Of Murder Again Amanda needs to get her legal weight up, start writing letters to Obama and pray America doesn’t extradite her. According to USA Today: An Italian court Thursday reinstated the murder conviction of Seattle native Amanda Knox for the stabbing death of Knox’s roommate, the latest twist in a dramatic, long-running case that is likely to be appealed again. Knox, who was in Seattle while the court verdict was reached Thursday night in Florence, was sentenced to 28 1/2 years, while ex-boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito, also charged in the case, received 25 years. The pair had been charged with the grisly murder of Meredeth Kercher, a 21-year-old student found stabbed to death in the Perugia villa that she and Knox had rented in 2007. In a statement, Knox said she was “frightened” and “saddened” by the verdict. She blamed overzealous prosecutors and a “prejudiced and narrow-minded investigation” for what she called a perversion of justice and wrongful conviction. Knox and Sollecito will appeal the verdict. Their first two trials produced flip-flop verdicts of guilty,then innocent. The pair were acquitted on appeal in 2011 after spending four years in custody, when a court found that important evidence regarding blood and DNA had been handled improperly by investigators. Sorry, Amanda, but you need more people.
