Final Poster for The Hunger Games: Released! Awesome!

With just over two months to go until the release of The Hunger Games , Lionsgate has released the final poster for this sure-to-be blockbuster. It features Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss Everdeen and it’s just as awesome as all other promotional material so far: But while the excitement over The Hunger Games builds each day, and while its core audience may also be comprised of teenage girls, Josh Hutcherson recently spoke to E! News and stopped the comparisons to another franchise right then and there. “I’m not a huge fan of the comparisons to Twilight just because I think it’s a very different world,” the actor behind Peeta said. “I understand why people make the connection just because it’s a popular teen book… but the story is really more about Katniss and her survival. There’s definitely less romance.” Find out for yourself on March 23 when Suzanne Collins’ novel hits the big screen.

Ben Roethlisberger Settles Andrea McNulty Rape Lawsuit; Terms Not Disclosed

Ben Roethlisberger has settled the lawsuit filed against him by Andrea McNulty in 2009 – the first of two incidents in which he was accused of sexual assault. The civil lawsuit filed by McNulty, a former Lake Tahoe casino host, claiming the NFL star raped her while he was in town for a golf tournament in 2008. Neither side will say if Andrea McNulty was paid in the settlement. McNulty filed the suit in Washoe District Court in 2009, claiming Roethlisberger lured her into his Harrah’s penthouse suite and forced her to have sex. The suit also named a list of Harrah’s employees, claiming they covered up the alleged sexual assault to protect the Pittsburgh Steelers superstar. McNulty’s lawyer, Cal Dunlap, refused to discuss the terms of the case . Roethlisberger’s lawyer, David Cornwell, and his agent, also had no comment. McNulty claimed Roethlisberger asked her to come to his suite to fix his broken television, only to force her onto the bed and rape her, the suit said. Lawyers for Roethlisberger denied the claims, and the casino denied covering it up. McNulty was accused by some of trying to extort money from him. The star faced similar allegations in Georgia only one year later when a second Ben Roethlisberger accuser said he sexually assaulted her after a night of drinking. Authorities investigated the allegations, but no charges were filed.

Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva Resolve Custody Battle, End Epic Feud

Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva have resolved their issues. The custody battle and legal drama that has made headlines for two years appears to be kaput after they officially reached a financial and child custody agreement, ending the staggering fallout from one of the all-time worst celebrity breakups . Gibson’s spokesman Alan Nierob tells E! News , “I can confirm the parties have settled the matter and we appreciate all the judge’s help.” L.A. County Superior Court released a statement Friday reading: “As a result of a multiday settlement conference, the court announces that Mel Gibson and Oksana Grigorieva have achieved a settlement in their ongoing dispute.” Terms and conditions of the settlement were not announced. Mel and Oksana are due back in court next week to discuss financial arrangements as well as the issue of custody of 1-year-old daughter Lucia. Back in March, the actor pleaded no contest to battery against the Russian musician in a deal that allowed him to avoid jail time in the case. Grigorieva went to police six months after the Malibu incident in which she said the actor punched her, and that he threatened her and Lucia. Subsequently, the Mel Gibson tapes surfaced, featuring now-infamous rants in which he said she “deserved” the assault and he’d “bury” her. The settlement will hopefully put this to bed for good.

Report Says Bishop Eddie Long Settled For $24.8 Million, Gave Private Apology

View post:

A new report has surfaced claiming that New Birth Missionary Baptist Church pastor Bishop Eddie Long is paying nearly $25 million and has given a private apology to settle claims he had improper sexual relationships with four young male parishioners. According to Redding News Review , a source who claims to be familiar with the details of the settlement and did not wish to be identified, said that Long refused to give a public apology, which ended up costing him more. Long allegedly gave each men a private apology. What began as a $2 million agreement to settle the case for each of the four men quickly rose to $5.5 million for the respective plaintiffs, the source said, only because Long refused to publicly admit guilt. The final figure comes to $22 million for the four men and $2.8 million for the plaintiffs attorneys. The church had reportedly already been paying these four young men $40,000 annually each before any charges were filed, the source said. Redding News Review has decided not to print the source’s paraphrasing of that apology. Read the full story here.
