Mezhgan Hussainy: Engaged to Simon Cowell!

Is the speculation over? Is Mezhgan Hussainy set to be Mrs. Simon Cowell ? Radar Online does not offer any direct quotes on the rumor, but the website says Hussainy herself told its vice president that she was engaged to the American Idol judge. Earlier this week, during a simple, sweet, candid moment on the show, Ryan Seacrest asked Simon who he kept winking to in the audience and Cowell replied: “My girlfriend.” Says Simon’s publicist, Max Clifford: “They are very suited. She is someone who is independent and says what she thinks and feels, and he likes that. He’s probably the happiest I have ever known him in the nine years I’ve been working with him.” Hussainy works as a make-up artist on American Idol . Assuming she really is engaged to Cowell, insiders say a wedding may take place in the very near future. We wish these two the best!

‘He’s probably the happiest I have ever known him,’ ‘American Idol’ judge’s publicist says. By Eric Ditzian Simon Cowell and Mezhgan Hussainy last weekend Photo: Josephine Santos/PacificCoastNews/Newscom Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest joked about it during Tuesday night’s “American Idol” broadcast, and rumors have been floating around the Internet for days, but now the news is official: The prickly reality-show judge is engaged. Cowell is set to marry Mezhgan Hussainy, a makeup artist he’s been dating for nearly a year, the future Mrs. Cowell told RadarOnline . The 36-year-old Afghanistan-born Hussainy had been spotted with a massive diamond on her finger following a Valentine’s Day dinner, setting off a stream of speculation about whether the 50-year-old Cowell had finally decided to settle down. Simon Cowell And Mazhgan Hussainy Cowell was previously in a long-term relationship with entertainment correspondent Terri Seymour, who was attacked by an “Idol” fan last May after the show’s season eight finale. At the time, Cowell and Seymour had already ended their relationship. Cowell and Hussainy have reportedly known each other for years, having met on the set of “Idol.” While not specifying when the two plan to marry, Radar suggested a wedding might take place soon. “They are very suited,” Cowell’s publicist Max Clifford told the Web site. “She is someone who is independent and says what she thinks and feels, and he likes that. He’s probably the happiest I have ever known him in the nine years I’ve been working with him.” During a recent British TV interview with fellow “Britain’s Got Talent” judge Piers Morgan, Cowell said that Hussainy is “the one,” according to a report in the Daily Mail. Speaking about his desire to have children, Cowell said, “I think I need to have little Simons around.” Get your “Idol” fix on MTV News’ “American Idol” page , where you’ll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions. Howard Stern: ‘I Won’t Work With DeGeneres Or DioGuardi’ On ‘American Idol’

Radio host says he’ll bring his ‘own people’ on board. By Jocelyn Vena Howard Stern Photo: MTV News Rumors about controversial radio host Howard Stern joining the “American Idol” judges’ table after Simon Cowell’s departure at the end of this season have been swirling for awhile, and Stern has discussed the talk openly on his Sirius Radio show . In his latest bit of “Idol” chatter, the shock jock said that he would only get on board if two judges currently on the show — Ellen DeGeneres and Kara DioGuardi — were shown the door. “What do you want me to tell you? Listen, I won’t work with Ellen DeGeneres or Kara DioGuardi. If I go to ‘American Idol’, they’re out,” he told New York Post reporter Cindy Adams on Thursday night. “They don’t have an opinion. You gotta be with it, you gotta make the show happen.” Stern, who spoke Adams on the red carpet at the New York City premiere of “Green Zone,” didn’t name potential replacements for DioGuardi and DeGeneres, but he did say he would bring his own people on board. “When I come in there, I’m gonna bring a couple of people — my own people with me — and we’re going to take that show to new heights,” he added. “Someone sings bad, we take the trap door and throw them right down the trap door. I’m going to put an electric dog collar on the contestants, when they screw up I’m going to shock ’em. You understand? We’re going to talk a real show.” Stern also engaged in some public salary negotiations, telling “Entertainment Tonight” how much he thinks he should get paid . “I read in the paper that they want to give me $100 million to judge a karaoke contest, and that seems like pretty good pay for something as dumb as that,” Stern said. He also added his thoughts on DeGeneres’ first week behind the judges’ table. “Ellen has said she won’t work with me, but quite frankly, after watching her on the stupid show, I gotta tell ya, I won’t work with Ellen,’ he said. “She’s out if I come in.” What do you think of Stern’s comments? Ellen DeGeneres Talks About Her First Week On ‘American Idol’

Comedian jokes about Simon Cowell and Ryan Seacrest during Friday’s episode of her talk show. By Gil Kaufman Ellen DeGeneres and Randy Jackson on Wednesday’s “American Idol” Photo: FOX Let’s face it: everyone had a rough first week on “American Idol.” The guys, for the most part, tanked, and the women were only marginally better. Even the judges had some difficulties, with Simon Cowell looking visibly bored at times, the other panelists seeming a bit off and new addition to the panel from the same case of nerves that affected many of the contestants. But no matter what the critics say, Ellen had a blast at her new gig. The veteran comedian discussed her first week of live “Idol” shows on the episode of her talk show airing Friday (February 26). “It’s been a fun week,” she told her in-studio audience. “I’ll tell ya, I like being live because anything can happen on live television.” Despite being seated at the other end of the judges’ table from Cowell, DeGeneres said that one of the British judge’s plunging necklines allowed her to get an eyeful of his chest on Thursday night. “Yesterday, Simon had so many buttons open on his shirt he almost had a wardrobe malfunction,” she joked. DeGeneres spent some time talking about the differences between watching “Idol” at home and experiencing it live. “I’ve watched from home for years and years and now I get to see what happens behind the scenes. It’s different, very different. I always knew that Ryan worked hard, but I had no idea during the commercial breaks he works another job selling Mary Kay cosmetics.” After discussing the in-studio sound of the contestants’ live vocals, she reiterated how “totally different” the music comes across in person than it does on television. “The mix is different in the studio, so everyone sounds one way in the studio and then I go home and I listen to it,” she said. “You know, in the studio Simon has a Texas accent and he’s the sweetest guy. He’s totally hairless. Totally different, totally.” DeGeneres is bringing a blend of good-natured comedy and boundless enthusiasm for “Idol” to the judges’ panel, and she continued that vibe on her own show on Friday. “It’s really exciting, though. There’s energy and excitement in the studio, and there is a lot of suspense,” she said. “That’s what they do. They build up tension and nerves. I won’t do that to you, though. I’m going to tell right now who I think is going to win. I think the person who’s going to win is … a girl or a guy.” Ellen will be back judging the 20 remaining hopefuls next Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursday night, four more contestants will be sent home, and last year’s third-place finisher Danny Gokey will perform his new single, “My Best Days Are Ahead of Me.” Get your “Idol” fix on MTV News’ “American Idol” page , where you’ll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions.
