Ricki Lake Injured on Dancing With the Stars Set

The headline above is, admittedly, a bit misleading. Ricki Lake suffered a cut and a nasty bruise on her shin Thursday while rehearsing for the new season of Dancing with the Stars with partner Derek Hough. She’s not out of the competition by any means, but she did Tweet a photo of the wound, so … here we are. Check out the season’s first battle scar: Lake, who said upon being cast that she was terrified to participate in the ABC show, is considered one of the favorites going in … or at least was. Who knows if this will throw her off her game. An ambulance was called, but Lake downplayed the situation, Tweeting: “Not sure how my bruise turned into a medic showing up? I’m fine!! :)” Later, she Tweeted at former DWTS star Kirstie Alley, who was a hit last season: “I’ve got my work cut out for me. Channeling ya’ mama. xo”. Amy Lee Skates To Detention On ‘When I Was 17’

By Nuzhat Naoreen Amy Lee on “When I Was 17” Photo: MTV From accomplished vocalist to skilled pianist, Evanescence singer Amy Lee has plenty of talents to boast. But in the latest episode of “When I Was 17,” airing Saturday, Amy reveals another skill that might surprise her fans: roller skating. In the episode, the singer-songwriter recounts how skating around her high school hallways landed her in some serious trouble. “When I was 17, our school had really slick floors. There was this really big hall, and it was perfect for roller skating,” the singer says. So, Amy decided to take advantage of the situation. “The halls are empty when people are in class, and if it’s just study hall or art or whatever, then why not go for a little skate?” Her “little skate” however wasn’t without its consequences. “I don’t know why I thought that that would be good,” she says. “So, I was skating by myself. Total nerd. And some other teacher was in the hall, and I skated by, and she was like, ‘Detention!’ ” While detention is a pretty common punishment for misbehaving high school students, it caught Amy’s father off-guard. “It was a little bit of a big deal. She got in trouble, and Amy typically never got in trouble,” says her father, John. Of course, even back in high school, Amy found a way to translate her experience with the teacher who sent her to detention into something creative. “One of my art pieces after that was her getting skated over by a giant skate,” Amy says. “When I Was 17,” also featuring Theophilus London and Chris Klein, airs Saturday at 11 a.m. ET on MTV. You’re a lucky woman, Sharni Vinson. The Australian actress, who appeared in Step Up 3D , was snapped this week strolling through Venice Beach with The Twilight Saga hunk. Sources tell Us Weekly the pair met through mutual pals and have been dating for about “two months.” “She’s a lot of fun,” says the insider. “They are both very into working out. They hang out in Venice a lot and just stay low-key.” Lutz previously dated 90210 star AnnaLynne McCord for about two years, but they called it quits in the fall of 2010. Billie Joe Armstrong Kicked Off Flight for… Saggy Pants?!?

He didn’t piss in an aisle . And he didn’t allege racism . But Billie Joe Armstrong was still kicked off a flight this week – and you won’t believe why. According to the Green Day singer, he was tossed off a Southwest flight from Oakland to Burbank because his pants were loose. Armstrong Tweeted today: “Just got kicked off a southwest flight because my pants sagged too low! What the f(asterisk)(asterisk)(asterisk)? No joke!” A producer from ABC was actually on board the flight, according to Fox News, and says Armstrong replied by asking the attendant if there weren’t “better things to do than worry about that?” But the employee persisted, told the artist he could be taken off the plane if he did not comply… and that’s exactly what happened! Southwest spokesman Brad Hawkins subsequently released a statement that confirmed an incident took place, but added Armstrong was permitted on the next flight to Burbank and told a customer relations agent that he had no other complaints. “As soon as we became aware of what had happened, we reached out to apologize for this Customer’s experience,” the statement read. “He elected to take the next flight. We followed up with this Customer and involved Employees to get more details and, in our latest conversations, understand from the Customer the situation was resolved to his satisfaction.”

Oscar De La Hoya Admits to Cocaine Use, Thoughts of Suicide

In a new interview with Univision, former boxer Oscar De La Hoya has opened up about the depth of his personal issues, which culminated this spring in a trip to rehab . “Rock bottom was recently,” De La Hoya said, according to an English-language transcript provided by the network. “Within couple of years, just thinking if my life was even worth it. I don’t have the strength, I don’t have the courage to take my own life but I was thinking about it.” De La Hoya says he’s been sober for three months and admits, yes, he was unfaithful to his wife. However: “We are obviously not talking a Tiger Woods here.” Known as The Golden Boy during his time in the ring, De La Hoya retired in 2009 after a 16-year career and 10 world titles. He’s worked as a promoter in the sport since. “There were drugs, my drug of choice was cocaine and alcohol. Cocaine was recent. The last 2 years, last 2 1/2 years and I depended more in the alcohol than the cocaine,” De La Hoya said. “It took me to a place where I felt safe, it took me to a place where I felt as if nobody can say anything to me, it took me to a place where I just can reach out and grab my mom.” The athlete says he’s joined Alcoholic Anonymous. Bravo Confirms Scheduled Premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills

Bravo has now made it official: the season two premiere of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills will air as scheduled, this Monday night at 10 p.m. EST. Controversy has surrounded the series, of course, since Russell Armstrong took his own life this month. But the network said in a statement today that the situation will be addressed at the outset of the opening episode. “Bravo will proceed with the Monday, Sept. 5 premiere date of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” said Francis Berwick, president of Bravo Media. “Given that these episodes were filmed months ago, the producers of the show taped a brief interview this week with several of the cast members to introduce the premiere. Reediting of the episodes is still underway. “Our thoughts continue to be with the Armstrong family during this difficult time.” Is this the right decision? By Eric Ditzian Sammi, Ronnie, Pauly D and Vinny Photo: MTV News As Hurricane Irene bore down on the East Coast and the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards heated up on the West, “Jersey Shore” stars Snooki, Vinny, Deena and Sammi, hopped a last-minute private jet from New Jersey to Los Angeles. Nothing was going to stop them from missing the VMAs. “We had to get out here for the VMAs,” Vinny told MTV News hours after touching in Los Angeles. “MTV did whatever they could to get us out here. We wouldn’t miss it for the world.” His pal Pauly D, meanwhile, had been safely kicking back in Oklahoma City after an earlier brush with the hurricane in North Carolina while touring with Britney Spears . “Irene got nothing on my blowout,” he declared, while acknowledging the storm poses a serious risk to the public. “I was nervous. This storm’s no joke,” he said. “Immediately I texted Vinny, because I didn’t think we were going to make it. … I thought I was going to have to fill in for everybody. I can’t talk for everybody. I talk a lot. But it was no joke, and I was not missing the VMAs for nothing. Seriously, I was coming here. I didn’t care how I was coming here, but I was going to make it.” It’s no doubt going to be a big night for the “Shore” kids. The highly-anticipated episode showcasing the resolution of Ronnie’s dustup with the Situation is set to air at 7 p.m. ET immediately before the VMA Pre-Show . And as soon as “Jersey Shore” ends, the cast will be making their way down the VMA Pre-Show black carpet and settling into prime seats for the main event . But while they kick back and enjoy all the VMA craziness, they’ll be thinking of their friends and family back home. “Our prayers go out for everyone on the East Coast,” Vinny said. “We’re looking out for them, but I think they’re going to be all right.” The 28th annual MTV Video Music Awards will air live Sunday from Los Angeles at 9 p.m. ET/PT, following the Selena Gomez-hosted pre-show at 8. What’s all this garbage, it looks like Scarlett Johansson , but that can’t be right. I thought Scarlett was a hot piece of ass, this chick is far too sloppy looking. I get that sometimes you want to dress casually and take it easy and enjoy what looks like some sort of green sludge of a beverage, but at least spice it up a little. A pair of tight spandex yoga pants would go a long way in this situation. Not to mention unleashing those big breasts of hers, they don’t need to be tucked so tightly into a sports bra, they’re not going to run away. Let them breathe.

Now she’s opening up to Interview about a pop culture-loving side to her we never knew she had. The 28-year-old One Day actress had this to share with the mag: On her obsession : “Right now, I’m obsessed with Kate Middleton . Obsessed. I loved the Royal Wedding. I was so cynical going into it, and pseudo-political about the whole thing, but as soon as I saw her I was utterly charmed.” “I’m just completely enchanted by all things Kate and William.
