‘Art Of Getting By’ Stars Bring ‘Relatable’ Film To MTV’s Sneak Peek Week

‘I just loved the dynamic between all the different characters,’ Emma Roberts says during Q&A session. The film follows a set of New York teens as they embark on the real world and attempt to make grown-up decisions and say goodbye to their adolescence. The audience seemed to connect to the film’s drama and comedy, especially relating to the heart of the story as George (played by Freddie Highmore) attempts to change his image from careless slacker, win the heart of Sally (Emma Roberts) and embrace his talent as an artist. The film’s leading lady, Emma Roberts, confessed that she signed on thanks to her feelings for her character Sally. “I just loved the dynamic between all the different characters,” she said. “To me, I related to her personally.” Of shooting in New York, she gushed about the chance. “New York is a fun place to shoot, but it’s definitely hectic.” Roberts’ onscreen love interest, Michael Angarano, added, “I think [director] Gavin [Wiesen] wrote it in a way that made it very relatable. It’s definitely an authentic movie about a very specific time in your life. My least favorite part of the script was that [my] Dustin character was so unlikeable. He probably thinks he’s wiser than he probably is.” Elizabeth Reaser jumped at the chance to play Sally’s mom, who is very different from her character in “Twilight.” “It was the script, and then I feel in love with the characters,” she said. “I was fascinated by someone who would behave like this. “It was very exciting [to play this kind of mom]. . All those things were fascinating to me,” she added. “I think she’s a really good mom. I think she loves her daughter.” Stick with MTV News all week as we gear up for Sunday’s Movie Awards with a Sneak Peek Week screening and live-stream Q&A session every night this week. MTV Movie Awards Mania Kicks Off With Sneak Peek Week

Stars of ‘Fright Night,’ ‘The Help’ and more stop by next week for live interviews and exclusive clips. By Eric Ditzian Christopher Mintz-Plasse in “Fright Night” Photo: DreamWorks Each year, we jam 12 months’ worth of movie magic into just one day for the MTV Movie Awards . This time around, there’s simply too much Golden Popcorn goodness to contain, so we’re opening up things with a full five days of cinematic treats that we call MTV Movie Awards Sneak Peek Week. Starting on Monday, May 30, and running through Friday, June 3, we’ll be bringing you exclusive looks at some of this summer’s hottest films, including “Fright Night,” “Horrible Bosses” and more. Each night at 11 p.m. ET, we’ll welcome a film’s cast onto MTV to present an exclusive clip. Then you can continue the live conversation with the stars online, as our own Josh Horowitz hosts an extended chat with the talent. As always, you’ll have the chance to ask the stars your own questions; just tweet at @MTVNews using the hashtag #SPW . It’s all building up to the Movie Awards themselves, which will be hosted by Jason Sudeikis and air live on Sunday, June 5, at 9 p.m. ET from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California. On Monday, we’ll be sitting down with “Fright Night” star Christopher Mintz-Plasse and director Craig Gillespie for an early glimpse at this horror remake. Mintz-Plasse and Anton Yelchin play high school seniors who get pulled into their neighbor’s creepy world, eventually finding out that the stranger (Colin Farrell) is a vampire preying on the town. The next night, the stars and director of “The Art of Getting By,” a Sundance fave earlier this year, will be stopping by. Emma Roberts, Michael Angarano, Elizabeth Reaser and director Gavin Wiesen will introduce a clip, then stick around to discuss their indie about a lonely student (Freddie Highmore) and the unlikely friendship he strikes up with Roberts’ charismatic and complicated teen girl. Wednesday brings us what’s sure to be one of the funniest comedies of the summer. “Horrible Bosses” star Jason Bateman and director Seth Gordon will present an exclusive clip before diving into a chat about how Bateman and his onscreen cohorts hatch a plan to kill their nasty workplace superiors. Then on Thursday, Emma Stone and Bryce Dallas Howard will jump into the action in support of “The Help.” Based on the #1 New York Times best-seller, the film stars Stone as an unlikely civil-rights activist in ’60s-era Mississippi. Finally on Friday, the folks behind action-comedy “30 Minutes or Less” will bring Sneak Peek Week to a close. Stars Aziz Ansari, Michael Pe

Beyonce’s “Run The World (Girls)” Video Gets Premiere Date!

View original post here:

Beyonce has teased us with at least 3 trailers for her new video “Run The World (Girls),” but it looks like the wait is over. Pittsburgh radio station 96.1 Kiss revealed the video’s premiere date via Twitter. The tweet read: “Confirmation: Beyonce’s video “Run The World” premieres Wednesday on American Idol” The station sourced her record label. However, it seems VEVO, the site that was originally supposed to debut the video, hasn’t received the same news. When a fan asked VEVO on Twitter: “is there [an] update about when Ms beyonce Knowles will release her new video run the world (girls)?,” VEVO replied “Not that we’ve heard.” (Last week, VEVO said the video would air on Friday the 13th, but then retracted the statement with: “OK, bad news: ‘Run The World (Girls)’ won’t be out on Friday like we thought. No new date yet. Beyonce is perfecting it”.) So confusing. Let’s just hope the May 18 date is final! Terrence Howard On Racism And The Judicial System [VIDEO]

Read more:

Actor Terrence Howard , who is currently playing District Attorney Joe Dekker on Law & Order: SVU ,  took a break from taping to offer his thoughts on racism and the judicial system. “As long as there are humans on the planet there will be some sense of racism until everybody looks exactly the same” he begins. “Which we will never…” He goes on to speak on the the role plays in racism and the importance of addressing the topic in a public forum like a television show.  In an up-coming episode Dekker’s cousin is accused of raping a woman and he must defend him. In taking the case he finds out that his aunt was raped by The Klan in the 1960s. “The rapes that occurred in the civil rights activist era against young African-American women, who through no fault of their own [were] gang raped by white men and then discredited by calling them prostitutes, people got away with that for years and it’s contributed to our lack of faith in our judicial system today. It will be hundreds of years before the ugly markers of those actions are done away with.” LAW & ORDER: LOS ANGELES returns next Monday, April 11th RELATED POSTS: Terrence Howard’s Wife Files For Divorce Top 10 Black Sports Movies Of All Time Get A Sneak Peek At Jennifer Hudson & Terrence Howard In “Winnie” [VIDEO]
