On Wednesday, an Italian court will decide whether to uphold Amanda Knox’s 2009 murder conviction , for which the Washington native was sentenced to 28 years in prison. The 27-year-old Knox was originally found guilty of murdering Meredith Kercher , but the sentence was eventually overturned on appeal. That appeal was later thrown out, and tomorrow, Knox’s co-defendant and former boyfriend, Raffaele Sollecito, will appear in court to stand trial yet again. Sollecito hopes to convince the court to overturn his 25-year sentence, and sources say that he may attempt to shift the blame to Knox. Sollecito originally provided an alibi for Knox, claiming that the of them were together at his home on the night that Kercher was killed. Now, nearly eight years later, he reportedly plans to retract that story and tell the court that he cannot account for Knox’s whereabouts on the night of the murder. “The defense intends to show that Sollecito has always shown himself to be extraneous to the crime, and that that night he did not move from his own home,” reads a document filed by Sollecito’s attorneys. “However, he cannot rule out that Knox could have gone out.” The defense also emphasizes that Sollecito “had no reason to want the death of Meredith Kercher,” and that “the alleged motives concern only relations between the victim and Amanda Knox, not Sollecito.” Lawyers for Sollecito also intend to remind the court that their client had been dating Knox for less than two weeks at the time of Kercher’s murder. “Raffaele Sollecito was not linked to Amanda Knox from long, deep emotional bonds that could have caused him to give his full adhesion to a criminal act desired by others,” says their latest filing. While Sollecito will be required to attend court tomorrow, Knox remains in Seattle, where she has attempted to move on with her life. Knox got engaged to Colin Sutherland last month, and she currently works in a bookstore and writes theater reviews for the West Seattle Herald. Jerod Brown, the obviously troubled cousin of ailing Bobbi Kristina Brown, has been arrested in his home state of Georgia, according to media reports. Police pulled him over after smelling marijuana while driving behind his car. He said he didn’t have marijuana on him, but “just came from the studio.” According to Atlanta authorities, Jerod Brown didn’t have his license on him, and claimed that his name was Jahraim Reid, born on October 29, 1987. After an hour of investigating, officials determined that he was lying, at which point he admitted his real name and correct birth date (November 9, 1987). There was also a prior warrant out for his arrest , so Brown was booked on that, driving without a license, and providing false identification to police. The incident comes a week after Jerod Brown released a music video , entitled “Pray4BK,” as a tribute to/attempt to cash in on the woes of Bobbi Kristina. His famous cousin, the daughter of Bobby Brown and the late Whitney Houston, has been in a medically induced coma since the last weekend in January. She has shown no signs of improvement , by and large, since being found face down in the bathtub in her home by her estranged partner Nick Gordon. Jerod, 27, has made headlines in the seven weeks since then by speaking out about Bobbi Kristina’s condition on Facebook and other social platforms. The most notorious example? Last week, Zayn Malik quit the current One Direction tour , reportedly due to the stress of constantly being on the road. Days later, rumors surfaced that Zayn had been caught cheating on Perrie Edwards , and had actually returned home in hopes of saving his relationship. The cast of Pretty Woman reunited this week on the Today show this week, a quarter century after the now-iconic film was first released in theaters. Richard Gere, Julia Roberts, Hector Elizondo, Laura San Giacomo, and director Garry Marshall all appeared to mark the occasion and all looked terrific: With the appearance came little known facts about Pretty Woman, which apparently wasn’t going to be called Pretty Woman when it was first conceived. When Marshall joined the cast, the film was called 3,000 , and was a rather dark tale. Roberts, now 47, explained of the original script for the 1990 classic: “At the end of the original script, Richard’s character threw my character out of the car, threw the money on top of her, and drove away, and the credits rolled.” Yikes. No wonder Marshall decided to turn it into a love story. Gere said back then he needed convincing to take on the role he referred to as “the suit,” saying, “you could put a suit on a goa … so I didn’t get it.” It took one “pretty woman” to persuade him to accept, though. Marshall took Roberts to visit Gere and left the room so they could have a conversation. “She’s across the desk and she takes a piece of paper, a Post-it , and she turns it around and she pushes it to me and she says ‘Please say yes,’” Gere said. “It was so sweet, and I said, ‘I just said yes.’” As for their chemistry, which made the film such a classic, Gere said it was instant, noting, “We loved each other immediately, it was a really great thing.” 17 TV & Movie Casts Who Have Come Back Together 1.
