I can’t say I have been there from his very first YouTube video but I can say from the time I heard ‘Baby’ and ‘One Time’ on the radio, I was a fan. What really put me over the top? Seeing Never Say Never. The instant I saw that movie I got Bieber Fever. That same night I went home I looked him up and listened to all his music and learned almost every song in two days. When the director’s fan-cut came out I HAD to go see it again so I took my friend Lacey. She got Bieber Fever instantly too. From there out I was defiantly a Belieber. I just couldn’t get enough. I began listening to his music all the time. I was valedictorian for my high school and even mentioned Never Say Never and Justin in my speech. The summer of 2012, Lacey and I went to Stratford, Canada. It is beautiful there! It was so peaceful and calm. We went to all the locations mentioned on this special map they have made up for Justin. Even Madeline’s Diner which Justin “stamped” on the app. We even went to Pizza Pizza (the place they go to in Never Say Never) and the same guy was working there! It was an amazing experience and I cannot wait to go back. Since we didn’t see Justin while in Stratford, we could not wait for our concert. I will never forget the day the tickets went on sale. I remember everyone talking about Justin being on the Ellen Show on Thursday of that week and that is when he would announce his tour and ticket sales. So I was waiting for that day. But when I woke up Wednesday I had a text from Lacey saying that tickets went on sale that day at noon! I had to babysit that day so at 7:30 in the morning I was running out of my room to go get on the computer to make sure this was true! It was so I began looking at all the tour dates. He wasn’t coming to my city or even my state so we had to figure out a place that was close because we knew we had to go to this concert. I had to go babysit so I had to take my laptop and make sure I could access the internet. Lacey was in class still so she was relying on me to get this tickets. I was shaking. When 11:50 come around I opened as many tabs as I could for the two closest cities to us. I had already transferred money for how much we thought the VIP would be because we knew we wanted those. When 12 hit I was clicking all the things I could to get these tickets. When I clicked on VIP they were more than I had planned! So I clicked them anyways and was watching the little clock that says how much time you have left to buy them so I could transfer more money. It said I still had at least 3 minutes left so I clicked to continue. When I clicked it said these tickets were no longer available! I was freaking out because it said I had time left. As soon as that happened I didn’t know what to do. This was everything we wanted. Lacey called me like 5 seconds after that happened and said she had tickets and she was about to put in her credit card information. I was so excited! She wasn’t even supposed to be home so luckily she got out of class early or we would have never got the opportunity we got. We started a countdown and just couldn’t wait. As it got closer I got more and more excited. I couldn’t believe I would finally be meeting Justin Bieber, this amazing guy that I thought I would never meet or even see in person. The day came and I skipped classes that day so we could get down there in plenty of time because we could not be late. We got to the arena and we just couldn’t believe we were there. When the doors opened for VIP we went in and got all the stuff we had to get. While waiting in line Kenny came to the top of the stairs and that’s when I knew it was real. They took us up and we had to wait another 20-30 minutes. Then Dan Kanter came out and that was even more real. Behind the black tarp we saw feet and knew it must be time, that Justin had arrived. They opened the curtain just for a split second to catch a glimpse of him. AHHH! I couldn’t believe he was like 10 feet away. The meet and greet started and it was then our turn to go in. I couldn’t believe Justin was right there. He was so tiny! The moment was so fast though, I didn’t have time to take it in. It was in, take a picture and go. I couldn’t even tell him my name. The only thing I said was “Can I have a hug?” and he said “Of course you can have a hug!” So if Justin, you read this, my name is Skylr and I met you in Louisville . I just want him to know my name. But it was an amazing moment to know Justin Bieber put his arm around me. After the meet and greet, we had to go back outside and wait to go back in. When we got to our seats I couldn’t believe how close we were! I had never sat that close at a concert. It was amazing! Second row, so close. Carly Rae Jepsen came out first and during part of her performance she come over and touched my hand! She picked my hand out of all the hands! But anyways…I couldn’t wait for Justin to come out. When it was his turn to perform I was too excited. I just could not believe I was there. I was so close to the stage and so close to him performing. I did not want the night to end. It was a great show and it was so hard to leave. I want to go to another show so bad. So the night had to end but the memories will remain forever. It was an amazing night and I still could not believe I had met this amazing person that I had dreamed about meeting for 3 years. Justin is so inspiration and just an all-around great person. I did not think I would ever meet him but I did. So if you read this, do not stop believing because anything can happen. Do not give up on something you want. I never thought I would get to go to his concert, sit 2 nd row, and meet him but when I want something, I will not stop until I get it. Never Say Never and just Believe. I can cross two things off my bucket list: meeting Justin Bieber and going to Stratford, Canada. Now, I just need to get Justin to follow me on Twitter. Even though I’m 19, I am not afraid to admit I am a BELIEBER! I will stand up and support Justin til the end. Belieber Forever & Always. -@SDM15 Read the original: I can’t say I have been there from his very first YouTube video…

The film version of Les Misérables is building momentum ahead of its Christmas roll-out in the States, and much has been made about Anne Hathaway ‘s very slimmed down look. She even made fun of her much shorter hair style, likening her new ‘look’ to resembling her brother. “When I eventually looked in the mirror, I just thought I looked like my gay brother,” Hathaway told a New York audience at a Friday evening screening as reported by THR. Hathaway, who plays the tragic Fantine in the film, directed by Oscar-winning The King’s Speech director Tom Hooper, said her mother had also once played the part in a Philadelphia production when she was seven years-old. Hathaway said in the December issue of Vogue that she lost 25 pounds to play the part, dropping the final 15 pounds by eating just two thin squares of dried oatmeal paste per day just ahead of the shoot. “I had to be obsessive about it. The idea was to look near death,” she told Vogue. “Looking back on the whole experience — and I don’t judge it in any way — it was definitely a little nuts. It was definitely a break with reality, but I think that’s who Fantine is anyway.” In related Les Misérables news, Hugh Jackman, who plays Jean Valjean in the musical told The Daily Mail that the film will transform the musical on-screen experience for audiences. “We sing as we act, rather than lay down songs weeks in advance,” Jackman said. “It makes it much more realistic particularly with a gritty story like this.” Also starring Russell Crowe, Helena Bonham Carter and Sacha Baron Cohen, the film is an adaptation of Victor Hugo’s classic novel set in 19th century France. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie appeared on Saturday Night Live’s Weekend Update to chat with Seth Meyers about Hurricane Sandy relief and more. Chris Christie on Saturday Night Live While he ruffled GOP feathers by praising President Obama’s response to the storm, the outspoken governor’s crisis management earned him well-deserved bipartisan praise. Not that it didn’t come at a cost; Christie told Meyers he’s worn that same wet fleece for three weeks. At least New Jersey residents are patient, he noted … yeah, right. The famously blunt, combative 50-year-old got in some quality zingers at Seth’s expense, but saved his best barbs for “idiots” who ignored his evacuation orders. Christie gave the 2012 Republican National Convention Keynote Speech this summer and will undoubtedly be talked about as a major presidential contender in 2016. Should be go that route, appearances like this will only help his cause.

Indianapolis Colts head coach Chuck Pagano, currently hospitalized and undergoing treatment for leukemia, paid a brief visit to his team in the locker room Sunday. Watch what he said after Indy’s 23-20 win over Miami: Chuck Pagano Locker Room Speech In under two minutes, Pagano may have delivered one of pro football’s most inspiring moments, entering the room to reveal his bald head and visibly shrunken frame. The coach praised the upstart, 5-3 Colts for “living in a vision, not circumstances.” He then added, “My vision is that I’m living to see two more daughters get married, dance at their weddings and then hoist that Lombardi several times.” Back in the CBS studio, there were no words. Only tears. NOTE: The winner of the Super Bowl receives the Vince Lombardi Trophy. Pagano has three daughters, Tara, Taylor and Tori; Tara is married with two girls of her own. Be well, Chuck.

Did anyone other than the two fools who filed this suit ever care about being on The Bachelor anyway? LLS We’re not surprised with the Judge’s ruling one bit. According to TMZ… A judge has THROWN OUT a lawsuit that two black men filed against “The Bachelor” … in which they claimed they were rejected from the show based on the color of their skin. In the original suit, the men pointed out that every bachelor in the show’s history has been white — and claim producers intentionally stayed away from people of color because they feared an interracial relationship would alienate the show’s “predominantly white viewership.” But a Tennessee judge has officially dismissed the case — citing the 1st Amendment (Freedom of Speech) … and explaining that the court cannot tell TV producers … or movie producers … or playwrights … how to cast a production. In fact, the judge explains that Freedom of Speech is why “The Cosby Show” could have an all-black cast … why “Jersey Shore” can cast all-Italians … and why “Shahs of Sunset” can cast all-Persians. A rep for Warner Bros. — which produces the show — tells TMZ, “We felt from the onset this case was completely without merit and we are pleased the Court has found in our favor.” Damn…looks like homeboy isn’t gonna find his one true love on reality TV anytime soon. At least it’s one less show for us to be stereotyped on! Images via facebook

All this feeds back to Prohibition in the ’30s.” Lawless opened with just over $10 million in its opening weekend theatrical release in late August, and has taken in over $36.27 million through last weekend. Official logline : They were brothers who became outlaws, and outlaws who became heroes…The three Bondurant boys (Shia LaBeouf, Tom Hardy, Jason Clarke), along with their sultry new hire (Jessica Chastain), command the most lucrative bootlegging operation in Franklin County, Virginia. The locals consider them “indestructible.” But the law – in the form of a corrupt special deputy (Guy Pearce) – wants a cut of their action, at any cost. When youngest brother Jack (LaBeouf) gets a taste of power with a deadly gangster (Gary Oldman), the whole business blows sky high. Based on the astonishing true story, the Bondurant brotherhood is the stuff of legend.

Swizz just added Ambassador to his multifaceted career … Celebrating the new $325 million wing at Harlem Hospital, and revealing original paintings created under President Roosevelt’s Harlem Renaissance-era Works Progress Administration, Swizz touched on the importance of healthcare. Choosing to honor Dr. John W.V. Cordice during his speech, and reflecting on the surgery he performed on Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. after a failed assassination attempt (which ultimately helped save his life), Swizz shared heartfelt words while accepting the nomination to become the first-ever Global Ambassador for NYC’s public hospital’s system. “I can honestly say tonight represents something bigger than a Grammy… bigger than selling millions of records… bigger than my wildest musical dreams,” said rapper-turned-Renaissance man Swizz Beatz (born Kasseem Dean) in his keynote address at a celebratory dinner for Harlem Hospital’s new Mural Pavilion Thursday night. “When I go home tonight, I’m going to write in my journal… today’s date, because it marks history…” Swizz said that he would like this new responsibility to help him show the youth today that you can be more than a rapper. “I encourage our youth to step outside of the box that some of us may have been put in,” expressing fatigue over the many requests he gets from fans looking for advice on how to become a rapper like him. “I want to be the renaissance man for my generation to show them that there are so many more things that we can do out here to move this world to a forward-thinking place.” Many pieces of art on display are being curated by Swizz himself and upgrades to the new six-story building include a new emergency department, a burn unit and an intensive care unit, and the hospital will expand access to preventive health services to address the community’s high rates of asthma, cancer, diabetes, heart disease, HIV/AIDS, and stroke. That’s something anyone, celeb or not, would be proud to be a part of. Source Images via WENN

Jamaica Offended By Mugabe’s Remarks On People Being Drunk And Lazy Comments by an African leader portraying the men of Jamaica as chronic drunkards and unambitious pot smokers have become the talk of towns across this Caribbean island. People are debating the matter on street corners, in letters to the editor and on radio talk shows. In unscripted asides during a roughly three-hour speech last week at a research exposition, Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe said Jamaican “men are always drunk,” have no interest in higher education, and people freely smoke chronic. “The men want to sing and do not go to colleges, some are dreadlocked. Let us not go there,” Mugabe told the crowd at the University of Zimbabwe in Harare. His comments in a mixture of both English and the Shona language were corroborated by The Associated Press after speaking to several reporters who attended the gathering. Over the years, Mugabe has repeatedly made disparaging remarks about dreadlocked Rastafarians, whom he once described as having “moths and mud” in their hair. Rastafarianism, best known for its ritual use of chronic and the dreadlock hair style worn by followers, emerged in Jamaica in the 1930s out of anger over the oppression of blacks. A small minority of Jamaicans are adherents. Glen Harris, a laborer and father of two children, said he felt irritated when he heard about the Zimbabwean president’s chiding remarks on a local radio program. Like the large majority of Jamaica’s population, Harris is black. “This is an African leader talking like this? Black man should stick up for each other. We’re all Africans,” he said on a Kingston street of low-slung concrete buildings and sheet metal fences. Although some foreigners have an image of Jamaica as a laid-back, sun-soaked slice of paradise where unhurried people smoke marijuana without a care, marijuana use is illegal and many islanders are socially conservative churchgoers who quietly endure stereotypes of their country. Still, a few Jamaicans aren’t aggrieved with Mugabe, who received a top government honor during a 1996 visit. They note that their island is the largest producer of marijuana in the Caribbean and that far more women graduate from university than men, and say Mugabe may have a point, even if he was being overly broad by disparaging Jamaican men. “Is President Robert Mugabe really on to something? Certainly, his observation that our ‘universities are full of women’ while our ‘men want to sing and do not go to colleges’ is a truism, which none can deny,” Northern Caribbean University administrator Vincent Peterkin wrote in a letter to the editor of The Jamaica Gleaner newspaper. Jamaican Information Minister Sandrea Falconer said Wednesday that the foreign affairs ministry, led by A.J. Nicholson, was still trying to confirm if Mugabe made the remarks. “I know his ministry is still trying to authenticate the source, and after we will respond,” Falconer said in a brief phone interview. In a written statement, Nicholson stressed that “Jamaican men and women from all walks of life have made valuable contributions to national development and have made their mark on the world stage.” Thoughts??
