3Oh!3 Plan Animatronics, Basketball For Tour With Cobra Starship

The Colorado duo are strategizing for the court and the stage before April 28. By Jocelyn Vena 3Oh!3 Photo: Gus Stewart/ Redferns This spring 3Oh!3 will hit the road with Cobra Starship, kicking off their tour on April 28 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. And while both bands’ sounds will have their fans dancing in the aisles, they have a couple of other things in common, like a considerable height advantage on the basketball court. “Apparently, we have a massive truck that’s coming on the tour with us. People don’t know that [3Oh!3 bandmate Sean Foreman is] actually tall,” Nathaniel Motte said. “They think he’s small, ’cause I’m tall. [He’s] 6’1” and I’m 6’7” and I think [Cobra Starship] have a couple dudes who are, like, 6’4″. We’re gonna be playing basketball.” Foreman feared that the members of Cobra Starship will have the edge over them, because “collectively they’re taller.” But aside from coming up with b-ball strategies, 3OH!3 have been spending time planning other aspects of the tour. “We’ve been piecing it together as far as the stage production and the shows,” Foreman said. “I think it’s going to be fun. It seems like a really cool package for the money.” The Colorado duo, who are set to release new album Streets of Gold in June, said there are some extra treats in store for the fans who come to see them live. “We’re gonna be doing some cool stuff. Some meet-and-greet stuff,” Motte continued. “The sets are going to be really fun. We’re trying to keep ticket prices super low. … We got some animatronics.” Are you looking forward to the Cobra Starship and 3OH!3 tour? Tell us in the comments!

Other major names: Kim Kardashian, Elton John, Whoopi Goldberg, Cynthia Nixon, Sharon and Kelly Osbourne, Judith Light, Clay Aiken and Wanda Sykes. Anna Paquin with co-star and fiance Stephen Moyer. The organization is dedicated to earning equal rights for people who are gay, straight, bisexual or transgendered. The organization’s “Give A Damn” campaign launches Thursday, with Paquin’s spot as the first of several to be unveiled online. As when Ricky Martin came out earlier this week, we’re happy for Anna because such an admission can’t be easy. If she’s content and happy, that’s great. A-Trak On His And Travis Barker’s WMC Tribute To DJ AM

‘It was very important for me to have one show where I could do an official dedication’ to AM, A-Trak says. By MTV News staff, with reporting by Akshay Bhansali DJ A-Trak Photo: MTV News MIAMI — On Thursday night, Travis Barker, A-Trak, Lil Jon Jazzy Jeff and Steve Aoki were some of the guests on hand to honor the late DJ AM at an unannounced tribute show on Thursday night at Miami’s LIV nightclub during the Winter Music Conference. MTV News caught up with A-Track in the wee hours of Friday morning (March 26), after his set at the Fools Gold party at Grand Central. “At LIV, it was a party for DJ AM — obviously a dedication to him,” A-Trak said. “[He was] a dear friend of mine, we miss him a lot. I’m now doing shows with Travis, so it was very important for me, especially knowing how much Travis and AM established a partnership before [AM] passed, to have one show where I could really do an official dedication and a dedicated routine to him — a scratching thing that he particularly liked, and do it in his honor and pass the torch, in a sense.” The lineup of the show — part of the Winter Music Conference — was a tightly guarded secret , though most in attendance suspected that both Barker and Trak, who recently toured as a duo, were part of the bill. And when they hit the stage shortly after midnight, those suspicions were confirmed. The Hottest News From WMC 2010!

Ke$ha Hopes Her ‘American Idol’ Performance Was ‘Infectious’

She also weighs in on her ‘Idol’ faves: ‘I’m rooting for anyone who stands for something and who can be honest and genuine.’ By Jocelyn Vena Ke$ha Photo: Andreas Rentz/ Getty Images On Wednesday night, Ke$ha, along with her pals 3OH!3 , hit the “American Idol” stage with their song “Blah Blah Blah.” The performance included dancing with TV heads and Ke$ha donning a Native American headdress while bouncing around the stage. How does Ke$ha think the performance went? “Well, I never really know, but I think it went pretty well from what I’ve heard from family members and friends and stuff,” she told MTV News via phone Thursday (March 18). ” … I think it came across like we were just having a good time onstage, like, just playing dress-up. And I was kind of making an ass of myself at the end, but whatever. I was having a good time. I hope it was infectious.” As for her look, which included a silver top, hot pants and the aforementioned headdress, she said she took the advice of a certain Talking Heads frontman. “I just want to inspire people to have a good time, and I feel like if I’m being irreverent, it inspires people to have the freedom to be themselves,” she said. “David Byrne said, ‘Everything onstage needs to be much bigger.’ Maybe I wouldn’t be wearing an armored bustier just on the street, but on the stage, I wanted to look like a warrior for irreverence and dance commander.” With the performance behind her, who is Ke$ha rooting for on “Idol”? “I don’t know anybody’s names but the blond dude that I’m rooting for,” she said of Casey James. “I also thought the chick that got voted off [ Lacey Brown ], I thought she was pretty while singing, which I haven’t figured out — how to look cool while singing — but she looked pretty while singing. I was impressed.” While Ke$ha thinks everyone deserves a chance during the competition, she just hopes that whomever wins can live up to the “Idol” name. “I think that ‘idol’ is a pretty intense word to describe a human being, and you should definitely be able to sing to be an idol,” she said. “You have to have a particular message, whatever that may be. I would love to see and hear if they had a chance to put into their own words what each of them stand for, ’cause I’m rooting for anyone who stands for something and who can be honest and genuine.” What did you think of Ke$ha’s “Idol” performance?
